Dakota,

If you receive the error Windows Update 80070002 of updates, you must remove the temporary files to update that Windows uses to identify updates for your computer. To remove temporary files, stop the Windows Update service, delete the temporary update files, restart the Windows Update service and then try to check for Windows updates again. http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/Windows-Update-Error-80070002

    Hi jjackbcop,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are facing the issue with windows updates offer several times over and over again.

    Method 1:

I suggest you perform the clean boot and check.

Place the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow these steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup of the link report section to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfig and click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    (e) when you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

    Method 2:

I suggest you send the link and check (this also applies to windows XP).

  • Can I stop a downloaded update to install when I shut down my computer?

My setting of update "Download updates but let me choose whether to install" I want to keep it this way. Lately, I noticed that when I click Start, stop, there is a small yellow exclamation point or shield on the close button and when you hoover over closed, he says that Windows will install the updates and then stop. It doesn't give you a choice.
Is it possible to stop without having to install the update until you know what the update is all about, that might not be immediately. Can go you to Windows Update and hide the update, that would be a pain in the neck, if there is more than one?
Or is it somehow a way to get rid of this or these until you are able to check and see what the update or updates are on?

    Thank you

    TomS

No, they are not... By clicking on the updates hidden restore opens ONLY the 'Quarentine', where they are seated. :-)

Then you choose what was updated, you want to install, by marking and click Restore... Sorry - my Windows 7 is Danish, but I hope, you understand it anyway:

I have a LOT of optional updates and recommended in my 'Quarentine', as you can see...

    "Valgfri" = optional

    Hello

Here are a few questions to better understand the issue:

1 made only while off log?

    2. what happens when you restart?

3 have you tried with different user accounts?

4 you did changes to the computer before the show?

  • I've recently updated to Firefox 4. I can't find the trick to make Firefox 4 don't forget my tabs when I shut down my computer. How to bring back this feature?

In the earlier version, at the exit, Firefox asked me if I wanted to save my tabs for the next session. Firefox 4 is not that. It loses my tabs, so when I open a new session I starts from scratch rather than where I left.

You have no need say Firefox in advance to save tabs. You are always able to further define Firefox to open it from the last set of tabs instead of the home page.

Firefox will now normally also offer to reopen the last set of tabs by a button in the middle of the default start page, otherwise you can use the tab 'History', available in the "firefox" button

  • You receive four messages such as ciceroUIWndframe, cthelper32 and hpquimzone.exe was still running while trying to shut down the computer

I had a hard time trying to close my computer.  I get the above messages while closing.  This time, when I closed, I can't my computer back to the top.  What should I do to get this corrected and my backup system.

The CiceroUIWndframe is caused by the function of 'The speech recognition and handwriting' of MS Office. You can disable this feature by going to the Add/Remove Programs applet in the control panel. Click the entry for MS Office, then click 'change '. Go to the 'shared components of Office,' "Alternative User Input", and make speeches and recognition of Scripture (both) "Not available" in the drop-down list box.

The CTHelper32 belongs to your Creative sound card and can be disabled using msconfig (see below).

The hpquimzone.exe belongs to the HP Image Zone software that also does not need to run in the background.

Start > run > msconfig [Enter]

This will open the System Configuration utility. Look under the Startup tab and find the likely culprit. Uncheck the box next to its name, apply and OK out. You don't need to restart immediately, but next time you do, you will get a dialog box saying that you have used the utility. Just check the box that says in effect, "don't mind to this subject again".

Important - do not use the System Configuration utility to stop the process. Use rather Start > Run > services.msc [Enter] and stop all services unless you really, really know what you're doing.

  • Impossible to install InDesign once removed from the computer

    Hi Indesign users,.

    Here are some technical details:

    1 MacMini 3.1, 6 GB RAM, OS X 10.9

2 adobe CC - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator

3 inDesign has worked flawlessly until this morning.

    4. no update yesterday (Saturday, 30 November) and today (December 1)

    5. no fonts installed in between.

    What I did:

This morning (1 December), I tried to open an InDesign file to check if my coworker has completed the project. The file is hosted on Dropbox in a folder that we share. Therefore, I did what I always do with any of my files IND: double-click it to open it. It has the file open, showed me a white screen with all the menus and tools of InDesign. And it was like that for several minutes until I decided to force IND quit smoking.

Then I tried again simply open the IND software. IND began to gave me an error like: IND is blocking down a serious error...

I turned off the computer, and he did it again. InDesign has the file open correctly, but I can't do anything: no no scrolling, no navigation between pages, nothing. He froze showing me a cursor circle Rainbow for the minutes. So, I decide, once again, to force the software to close. I can't open InDesign at all after that. The same serious error message is shown.

I have delete all kinds of files based on things I've read on the forum: caches, workplaces etc. Nothing has worked.

As I had enough of these errors I lived several months ago I decide to completeely remove the InDesign in the hope that I can reinstall it again once, clean without errors.

I remove all instances where InDesign may be present. At least, I think that in this way.

I shut down the computer and open it there even once, is went to Creative Cloud Desktop Manager and when I tried to choose install InDesign, surprise. The Manager is shopwing that InDesign is up-to-date. I can't install it.

    Help, please.

I did a full instalation of my MAC, about a month ago just to get rid of these errors of InDesign. I had enough of it. I don't want to reinstall my MAC from scratch just because that damn application.

    Best regards,

    Sebastian

P.S. I just read something on an old post. In this case I agree, there is a file with the extension: *.idlk that's why I can't open the InDesign file? What to do in the future when I see files like that? In any case, it is now unimportant because it won't save me from missing installation option for InDesign.
