Failed to start in Vista Ultimate.

The system starts with the logo of windows during a normal startup, but it quickly goes to a blue screen that passes to quickly to read. The system restarts then giving the options of safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode command prompt and normal startup. I can start in the mode of security without any problem. I recently tried to download an anti virus/malware program that requires a reboot to complete. The problem occurred afterwards. I started in safe mode to remove the program and all associated files. But the problem still remains. All system restore points have been removed. What can be done, other than a new installation?

I have Windows vista Ultimate edition. but he started asking for activation after the windows update while it has already been activated before the update.

    Hello, Pichon,

If Windows Vista application unexpected activation

On rare occasions, you may be prompted to activate Windows Vista on a computer that did not previously require Windows Vista activation or has already been activated successfully. For example, this may occur on a computer on which Windows Vista was preinstalled by an OEM installation or Volume licensing and are major hardware changes occurred, such as upgrading the hard disk and memory at the same time.

If you are prompted to reactivate Windows Vista, you can do this by using the Windows Activation Wizard to:

    1. Click Start, and then click computer.
    2. Click System Properties on the toolbar, and then click click here to activate Windows now in the Windows activation area. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.
    3. Select the Windows Vista activation method that you want, and then follow the instructions.

To avoid this problem in the future, obtain the latest service pack for your version of Windows Vista, either through automatic updates or direct download.

To update to Windows Vista and prevent this activation problem does not happen:

    1. Click Start, click all programs, and then click Windows Update.
    2. Click find updates.
    3. As soon as Windows Vista found the updates, click the install updates button.

    Hello

Make sure that you do not install hardware 3rd party via windows update drivers

they are normally not up to date and can cause computer problems

change the way you receive updates and check what you install ad if you don't not right-clicking on UAC prompt you to hide it:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial140.html

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

and if you're still stuck in a loop non-Boot read these methods on how to try to fix it:

1st thing to try is a restoration of the system in safe mode

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

  • How to start VDS in Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit?

I have a problem, and it's been a while and still not solved...

I have Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit right now and I want to upgrade to Windows 7, but installation is NOT going through perhaps because of the virtual disk service.

How to START the virtual disk service? Everytime I try through services, I get an error 3: the system cannot find the path specified.

Please tell me HOW to start the virtual disk service. and please do NOT move this thread on the forum windows 7, I posted in the front Vista section and moved to the region of Win 7, where my problem has not been resolved. Please leave it in this section. Thank you.

Ok. The file is in the right place. The registry is missing the path to
the file. Wonder how that happens - sigh?

Type Regedit in the search box of the start menu.

    Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\vds

Right-click on an empty area in the right pane - choose new - extensible
String value. Name ImagePath (F2 key renames it). Double-click
    ImagePath and assign
    %SystemRoot%\System32\vds.exe

Now you can start the service?

  • Orb is blocked at the start of the system on my Vista Ultimate SP2.

    Original title: Orb

    Hello

Orb is blocked at the start of the system on my Vista Ultimate SP2, even if the box is checked in the setup of the system. What could be the reason? And there at - it a danger by unlocking it? If this is not the case, how can I put it so that it hangs every time you start?

    Thank you

    Hello

    1. When you say its blocked, that you get any message or it does not appear at startup?

    2. don't you perform a normal startup or selective startup?

I suggest that you follow the steps below and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

This can be caused by your security software, I would temporarily disable all security software and check if the ORB is blocked.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Step 2:

If it works, then give exception in Firewall setting for the program.
Orb is a third-party application, and if trust you him, you can add as an exception.
    WARNING OF THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE
Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

    Hi Jaywin,

1 you get an error message when trying to perform a full restore?

Factory restore will restore the computer to its factory settings. If you have backed up your computer and that you want to restore the whole PC by using the backup file, then you can try it in the Windows recovery environment. To do this, try the following steps.
Step 1: Windows complete PC Restore.
    1. Insert Windows Vista DVD.
    2. restart your computer: click Start, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.
    3. let the computer restart (boot) from the DVD.
    4. If you are prompted, press a key to continue.
    5. When you reach the screen install Windows, select your preferences in the language to install, time and currency format and keyboard or input method boxes, and then click Next.
    6. do not click on install now. Instead, click on repair your computer. The System Recovery Options dialog box appears.
    7. make sure that the appropriate operating system is selected, and then click Next.
    8. After you click Next, the System Recovery Options menu appears.
    9. click on restore complete Windows PC.
    10. Select the file backup and restore of all your PC successfully.

    I hope this helps.
