If I restart the virtual computer, the service starts successfully. I checked before I reboot and the correct GPO shows such as applied. Entries in the event viewer indicates that the GPOS are detected and applied (and this is confirmed by the political group management snap-in). After the virtual machine restarts, there is an entry in the event log application that start the service of Persona that was not present on the initial startup (once the machine has been fully implemented). If the Persona service does not start, the user won't be able to connect for 10-15 minutes, after which they will have a blank desktop and the taskbar with no icons (it's on windows pro 8.1).

I could script restarts the virtual machines, but that should not be something that needs to be done.

Suggestions on where else to look at?

The problem ended up being the master VM that children have been cloned wasn't in the OU to run persona. Once I put in the unit ORGANIZATION appropriate, forced a group policy update and restarted; the persona service started successfully on the master. Took a snapshot and recomposed in the pool and everything works as expected.

    Hi Tom,

This means that your installation is corrupted and some components SQL do not settle down with it. I would advise to uninstall completely and then put it back using the installation CD you have. I hope this helps.

Thank you for visiting the website of Microsoft Windows Vista Community.  As the question you posted typically associated with third party software / application that has its own way of program codes and call the corresponding system resources when installing and running. Therefore, I also suggest you to join the VMware Forums for the best support.

In the meantime I suggest you try these options / methods

IMPORTANT NOTE: Microsoft provides this information as a convenience to you. Proposed changes could lead to serious problems. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems would be solved as a result of the suggestions. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Option 1: If you go to computer management, and then to the list of Services and find the VMware authorization Service, it appears as stopped? If so, you need to start

Option 2: Try logging on as an administrator Local host during installation first workstation, rather than you connect with a domain ID

Option 3: The question can be caused also by your security program such an antivirus or a firewall of Windows /Defender that can have conflicting parameters as to not not to perform certain tasks. I suggest you temporary disable antivirus and firewall and check the result again. You must enable security programs new that had disabled you

Option 4: The problem could be linked to a local or domain group policy. Make sure that the local account is defined as 'local user __vmware_user__' in the local Administrators group and the permissions of "Log on locally" and "Log on as a service.

The two parameters are available in the "* Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment *" branch of domain group policy or local.

Let me know if it worked.
    Hope it will be useful.

If the RemoveNvNdis.exe does not work (I think he must disable or remove completely the service), looks like he's some NVIDIA service that tries to start when you reboot, it cannot be started for some reason any.  Looks like you don't need to start.

If you can find it in the Services of XP, you could check the properties and set the startup type to disabled, restart and see what things look like.  (Do you know how?)

If the mere presence of the Service in your list of Services, then you mind, you can also delete the Service entirely (I want to it later, just to be ordered if it is always hanging out).

  • Windows search Windows failed to start the service on the Local computer

OK, so it's a big, dirty and convoluted issue, so please bear with me. Any help is greatly appreciated! I start tearing my hair out on this one...

    I'm on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
UAC is set to the lowest level 2

The other day I have problems with the search box in the start bar. It is more was to find excel or other office applications and also he wouldn't orders base as cmd or Notepad. Whenever I run a command it returns an error like this (not exact because I have the exact error message):

Windows cannot find ': search query = cmd'

I searched a little and tried to rebuild the index in Control Panel > Indexing Options. It does not work so I uninstalled Windows Search and reinstalled. What I found now, is that the indexing service would not start and if I tried manually start from services.msc I would get the following error:

Windows search Windows failed to start the service on the Local computer
Error 161: the specified path is not valid

The event log showed me this Application error:

    Cannot initialize the Gatherer service.

    Details:

The Temp folder is on a drive that is full or inaccessible. Free space on the drive or verify that you have permission write to the Temp folder. (HRESULT: 0 X 80070660) (0 x 80070660)

    Help!

    Thanks Samhrutha.
Your proposed solution of editing the registry is the only solution I found to this day and still work.
The only drawback that I want to emphasize is that this fix causes completely reset to its default settings of windows search.  Customizations to search what have been done by the user (e.g., windows search indexing user customizations options) will be lost.

I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and occasionally experienced the same error message ( windows cannot find ': search query = XXX ", where XXX corresponds to my search query) try to search through windows when start menu search box.

Only recently, however, discovered one other cause possible/fix to this problem.
Specifically, I discovered that the error of windows search resulting from the ADDITION of a NETWORK LOCATION on the local computer (for example, via the menu option "Add a network location" that appears when you click the file menu in a window of windows Explorer displays the contents of the local computer (corresponding to the "COMPUTER" icon). The CENTER of my computer SYNC settings have been defined to disable the synchronization of network or file 'offline' and I suspect that this setting is also part the cause of the error of research.

To resolve this problem, simply tell windows search not to include the 'network' location in the search index.  To do this, one needs to access the settings of the windows search INDEX LOCATIONS (via Indexing Options-> change), then uncheck the box next to the network location (which on my computer starts as follows: oneindex: / / {s-1-5-21...)

After unchecking this box, click on the OK button and then CLOSE the button to exit the Options of Index window.  After that the error message should hopefully not return.  If so, try restarting the computer and research to test again.

    Hope this helps!

    :)

  • Service component of VMware Manager fails to start in vCenter Server 6 Update 2

    Hello

A brief idea of my test environment:

    VCenter servers:

    VC1 - recorded at the psc1 in Site1

    VC2 - recorded at psc2 in Site2

    External Services platform controllers:

    psc1 - Site1

    PSC2 - Site2

    SSO domain: vsphere.local

I upgraded from vCenter Server 5.5 update 3d to vCenter Server 6.0 Update 2. VCenter 5.5 servers had integrated / embedded of SSO and all services running on the same machine and were in modes related before the upgrade and I have them removed modes related before the upgrade. They have been upgraded to vCenter Server 6.0 with Embedded PSC and they entered automatically improved Linked Mode (ELM).

After the previous step, I deployed the PSC external psc1 respectively 2 and psc2 mode of replication with vc1 and vc2 in the same site Site1 and Site2. I migrated then boarded two PSC vCenter servers to their respective partners external PSC of replication by running the command cmsso-util reconfigure - repoint-PSC "psc1/psc2" - administrator user name - domain name "vsphere.local" - passwd "Hasło_Administratora." This operation ended successfully and my vCenter have been reconfigured as vCenter Server with external CFP.

After that, I followed article KB VMware 2127057 (agreements ofdetermination of replication and the State with the service controller 6.0 platform (2127057) |) The VMware KB) do psc1 and psc2 external replication of the PSC 2 partners either by running the command vdcrepadmin-f createagreement-2--h psc2.clifford.local h psc1.clifford.local u Administrator w 'Hasło_Administratora '. I ran this command psc2. Also, this operation succeeded, and when I ask the State of replication of the psc1 of replication partners and psc2, there is nothing wrong. However, after restarting my vSphere Infrastructure, I see that vc1, psc1 and psc2 have all their services started successfully.

VC2 services seem to be failing, especially the service component manager of VMware which is required for many other services start. The VMware HTTP Reverse Proxy service starts properly and I have no IIS role / feature installed on my machine. The error message that occurs when you try to manually start the service is also attached as a file Error2.JPG in the discussion. The Windows event log error is as deeply as the file Error3.JPG in the discussion.

Please let me know how to solve this problem as soon as possible.

Well, I found a solution myself.

In fact, after I created the external PSC 2 psc1 and psc2 partners of replication of the vc1 and vc2 in Site1 and Site2 respectively, I had to immediately follow section KB VMware 2127057 in order to create a replication agreement between the 2 external to the PSC psc1 and before psc2 I reconfigured and show the vCenter servers vc1 and vc2 of on-Board of the PSC outside the PSC following the VMware Documentation (Center of) VSphere documentation 6.0).

    That's all.

Thanks to all for looking into it.

Hi guys and experts of vCO,

I had a problem starting the service of vCO. The vCO is on a LinuxSUSE OS.

I've done several times, but always failed to start the service, if the server vco is on all tabs are green on the page of configuration of the vco. Yes, the screenshot seems good. It shows the storage used same as provided - I assume that this has been set up thick, that's fine... Is there any free space on the disk? SSH to the VA to confirm.

Apart from perhaps running out of space, I'm not sure what is causing this problem - maybe a deployment is corrupted? Your snapshot - is that taken before questions: If so, you should probably try to return.

If it was me, I cut my losses and try to deploy another device. So far, I had very good experiences with the device of the vCO and use it in multiple locations daily for my test/dev work.

the platform service is not available
Service script is available on the database server
The connection information stored in the repository are correct

I was able to start the service control centre earlier? What could be wrong?

    Hello
you have several instances of database with the OWB repository on the server?

Try changing the script of run_service.bat - remove the redirection of output to the file run_service.log at the end of the script ("' > % RTHOME%\owb\log\run_service.log" ")

    Kind regards
    Oleg
