Failed Validation of XP - Client4.6 - cvpnd.exe for C:\Windows\system32\vsinit.dll
Windows XP Home SP2 - booted fail with the "attention 201. VPN required subsystem is not available. Unable to connect to a remote VPN server. "According to the documentation Cisco it said to reinstall the Client.
I uninstalled the old client and reinstalled v4.6 and now the C:\Program Cisco Systems Client\cvpnd.exe (which is the Cisco Systems, Inc. VPN Service) fails on startup with the following error message: failed Validation of C:\Windows\system32\vsinit.dll
I completely uninstalled and reinstalled the client, always VPN service not start and get the same error message. If I try to start it manually I get the same error message.
Clues about where to look?

All of a sudden I can't activate my zone alarm service, because I gives me a message that the Validation failed for c\windows\system32\zpeng25.dll. After you receive this message, I ran software to fix registry errors, but that has not fixed the problem. I am able to follow the explicit instructions so careful instructions are given. Thank you for your help.

Hello
I am running xp pro sp3 with MSE (v. 1.77.1038.0). I had CATrust AV until a few weeks ago. I'm on a domain network. We have not required WU to run all the time.I have issues with wuauclt.exe slow down my computer. All of a sudden, I hear the beginning of the computer running through the process and everything slows down. (5 minutes to open an email of 5 KB)
I * think * my problem is that there are 2 versions of wuauclt.exe & c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll on my computer. They appear as wuauclt.exe and wuauclt1.exe. wuauclt1.exe and c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll files are version 5.8.0.2469.
Running the MSE analysis does not turn to the top of any spyware. I tried just to remove the old version, but they appear immediately as if the registry grows this version instead.
After reviewing the record, I see that everything related to Microsoft.Update.AutoUpdate has two entrances:
That is to say
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.update.AutoUpdate
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.update.AutoUpdate.1Could this be the thing slow down my machine? If this is not the case, what would it be? If so how can I get rid of the duplicates offending (and shocking!)?
Thank you
IanI can assure you that Windows uses only the wuauclt.exe file now and it is quite normal to find a copy of wuauclt1.exe in %windows%\System32 <=this>=this> .
It is quite normal to find wuauclt.exe in the Task Manager. Processes tab shortly after starting your computer and so he can be executed for 10 to 20 minutes later (especially if Microsoft Update [1] is your source of default update).
That being said, the current automatic updates of running in the background has not such a detrimental effect on performance (e.g., 5 minutes to open an email 5 KB) when it is executed, unless the computer is low on resources (low power).
See if the boot minimum technical troubleshooting help you nail that other background process could contribute to the slowdown.

Hi everyone, my fathers laptop crashed yesterday and since then he was able to start and the following message appears
application or the C:\windows\system32\odbcint.dll dll is not a valid windows image
something appears then it restarts. I did some occasional checking of this problem, as believe that he may be able to replace the file with its installation in recovery mode disc, although neither nor I did before can someone provide some support on what to do, ideally if we can get into windows and get the docs off the laptop computer he is happy the new facility because I think that it maybe Basic virus/malware issue.
Thank you for your time and help in advance
If the c:\windows\system32\odbcint.dll file is missing, you see a message like this:
User Interface failure
The logon User Interface DLL msgina.dll failed to load.
Contact your system administrator to replace the DLL or restore the original DLL.There is a button to click to restart, which when clicked, takes a while to reboot the system.
If the c:\windows\system32\odbcint.dll file is corrupted, you will see a message like this:
Winlogon.exe - bad Image
The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\odbcint.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.By clicking OK twice, you will see the message above about the failure of User Interface.
There will be events in the case where the viewing Application log that look like this:
Event type: error

Event category: no
Event ID: 0
Description:

You may be able to use the option/auxsource = flag to retrieve this description; For more information, see Help and Support. The following information is part of the event: unable to load the resource DLL odbcint.dll.You should figure out what happened to get into this situation and respond to the following questions, then decide which is the best plan:
Please provide additional information on your system:
What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?
You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?
Fill in the blank: my system worked well until: _.
Did the problem to the top after show installed new software and if so, what software?
You have recently installed any type of remote control software?
Now to fix it depends on how you are fixed to the boot media, since you'll have to start on something.
We know that XP likes to keep the backup copies of critical system files in this folder:
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache
Knowing this, start in Recovery Console XP using your genuine XP bootable installation CD or if you have a genuine XP bootable installation CD, you can make one (no XP media required). If you don't know what type of bootable media, you, do a CD of bootable XP Recovery Console and do not forget.
If Yes, you want and are not in possession of a genuine XP bootable installation CD or a CD from Recovery Console XP bootable, the instructions to create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console can / will be provided before any questioning begins.
You can replace the missing file or suspect the XP Recovery Console by entering the following command:
Copy c:\windows\system32\dllcache\odbcint.dll c:\windows\system32
Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file and then you should see a message that 1 file (s) has been copied.
If you get some type of a file not found message, the file is easily replaced using other methods.
Remove the CD and type "exit" at the Recovery Console prompt to restart the system.
Do, or do not. There is no test.
I decided to implement the points for a new puppy instead of a pony!

After a new installation or a repair of xp pro sp3, everything works fine, until I have download 57 updates. On reboot, the message, and then sytem hangs.
The recent update of KB2509553 contained a new file dnsapi.dll (and other things) that patched a hole that "could allow remote code execution" on your system.
If you have symptoms lists these:
Lsass.exe - Unable to locate component
This application has failed to start because DNSAPI.dll is not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.Lsass.exe - bad Image
The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\DNSAPI.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette... .it sounds like the update or of parts of it has failed.
If you copied into an older file, your system may then start OK, but part of the security update is missing.
I don't know if that is considered to be a "fix" or not... but you can get free help/support for the update using the details in the KB page.
Maybe here Microsoft support engineers know how to solve this problem too (I asked last week).
Tip: There is nothing wrong with the update - the problem is a problem on the system that does not have the update installs successfully.
Solve this problem and the update will install correctly and you'll have security installed was last updated.

error windows\system32\advpack.dll is not a valid image
I try to install Life Cam VX-5000. I get an error image DXSETup.exe - bad... It is said THAT DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\advpack.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check against your installation diskette. I'm not a programmer or anything, just an ordinary girl looking for help. Can someone walk me through what to do to solve this problem in simple terms? Thank you!
System Machanic 6 has detected that a file Advpack.dll was spyware on his deep optimization of Start Up procedure. However, Windows replaced after its deletion and I ran SM6 Pro again. This time he ignored the file.
CONCLUSION: There are maybe a program that replaces the Advpack.dll real with a fake spyware Trojan. Perhaps in one of the free SP2 packs on the internet or another program. Here again, it may be a fault with Spyware detectors.
As long as the file is replaced by Windows automatically, so there is no real problem, and we can thank God for the major spyware removal programs.

If I bought a used computer, no matter who previously owned, the first thing I have with it would be to reinstall the operating system itself. You know not how the computer has been maintained, which has been incorrectly installed, what is missed, what virus and spyware, there may be, etc. I would not live with someone of another errors and problems, possibility of kiddy p0rn, etc, and I would not recommend anyone else to do.
Your choice of course, but in my opinion, you're playing with fire if you reinstall Windows properly.

dll c:windows\system32\avgsstx.dll not an Image Windows valid
Received this message when the computer starts to boot the system. It comes with different .exe files. I am able to get online & in the programs, but for example, when I click on help, the following text:
Helpctr.exe - bad image
The application or D:: C:\WINDOWS\system32|avgrsstx.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
Is there a simple fix for this, or I'll have to reinstall Windows from my drive? You will need to get this done quickly, thanks to someone who can help me.

What is your system brand and model? What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Defender, ZoneAlarm,.PC Tools, Comodo, etc..The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work? You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?I don't think you have a problem of Windows XP.The avgsstx.dll file appears to be outside the AVG resident shield starter, so if you have AVG, it seems that you may need to update, uninstall it, reboot, and reinstall, etc to see if you can straighten. I would like to reinstall everything from scratch. If you want to stay with AVG and go put it back, you can install differently from the way it comes out of the box. The AVG free installs a few things that are not essential to your protection and will slow your system down a bit. I would have preferred my CPU and RAM go to other places that some places want AVG. Of course, it's you, what items you want to install for your type of environment. In general, I would recommend this when AVG starts to misbehave:Use Add/Rmove programs to uninstall AVG and reboot.Download the latest AVG and reinstall. When you install AVG, do not let it install 'everything' with components by default (unless you want a performance problem to solve problems later). This time, select the CUSTOM installation option and do NOT install (i.e., uncheck) Linkscanner Search-Shield, Active Surf-Shield, toolbar security or enamel of crawl components. When you install AVG, select the CUSTOM installation option and do NOT install (uncheck):LinkScannerSearch-ShieldActive Surf-Shield,Security or the email of crawl components toolbarYou can read about these components AVG first to see if you think you really need in your environment or not.For example, this is why you don't need to install the crawl components email:http://thundercloud.NET/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htmThen, when you have done so, I would follow with this:Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/They can be uninstalled later if you wish. The scans by operating clean, then to solve any problems.Do not guess what the problem might be - understand and resolve it. I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

I have a Windows 7 Fujitsu Lifebook (5 years). I tried to update to Windows 10 without success. Finally after a Windows7 update and then upgrade Windows 10. Success! Remotely, the company THAT THIS guy decided that I had to update W10, now all I get is "failure in the snp nonpaged area - uvc.sys" the laptop then restarts auto and trying again and again. However, when I close I now get an error called "LogonUI.exe - Bad Image C:\Windows\system32\LMIinit.dll if the other is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error." Try to install the program by using the original installation media".
With all the man hours spent the last week and a bit on this point, I have to stay on Windows 7 and when the thing dies completely invest in a new (if my boss allows me)!
This my friends, is his last chance, can someone help me.

How can I get back them? If someone of you cannot answer, I'd appreciate any help.Hemoth
What anti-virus software are you using and have you updated to the latest list of detection of virus/trojan?
To retrieve these files, you can use the windows repair console, which can be entered by pressing the F8 key before the windows operating system starts.
Will take you to a list where you repair or somehow mode called option. If this does not work, you can try using recovery media.
