Failover of telepresence conductor

Hello

We have a conductor & two telepresence conference bridge.

We are in the phase of deployment & assuming telepresence are registered in the conductor & driver is connected to 10.5 CUCM via SIP Trunk.

In this scenario, a conductor is a single point of failure. If the driver fails, CUCM will not be able to communicate with the telepresence.

What happens if the driver goes down? Users will not be able to make Conference calls? To reach the failover can I set up 2 different SIP trunks in CUCM, one for CUCM to the driver & second for CUCM to TP & assign priorities?

We have a gateway ISDN CTI-3241-GWISDNK9 as well. What is the best place to deploy the ISDN gateway in network? is it connected with driver or CUCM?

For the planning of conferences, which is also the best place for the costume of telepresence management? must connect with the driver or with CUCM?

Kind regards

Francisco

Hello Francisco -.

To answer your question: what happens if the driver goes down?

Because CUCM sees the conductor as the conference bridge, as the telepresence server is located behind the driver, no conference that use the driver would be able to begin to be.  It would be the same as if you were using TelePresence server directly with CUCM and it should fail, no conference using the TP server would be able to start.  The same would apply even if you have used the TMS.

    Hi Mihail,

you have not mentioned on the version of the software that you are running?

I think it is something related to the IO error or HARD disk problem. a snapshot of the complete system or a crash signature will tell us more.

As Martin mentioned if it is a new installation, you can try to deploy again, I know that you may need to take the pain for regenarting licenses once more.

If his production in I think better you open a TAC case and to download the complete snapshot of the system for analysis.

are there other servers installed on the same hardware platform? They show something problematic?

I remember a case where the issue was with RAID controller on the server where this virtual machine has been deployed. I think in your case as it could be something related to the material.

    Hello

Keep TCP between the AAU and conductor. Conductor may reflect only IP addresses different MCU based on group settings of the Complutense University of MADRID (order of servers).

Make sure that the SIP Trunk security profile is set as follows:

    -Mode of security: unsecured

-New Type of Transport: TCP + UDP

    -Outgoing Transport Type: TCP

-Incoming port: 5060 (make sure your Trunk conductor SIP is 5060)

  • Audio only participants giving Chief conductor created meeting

    Hello

We have just implemented a little proof of concept with a VCS of Cisco, telepresence conductor and 2 8710 TelePresence blades.

I configured a search on VCS meet.* rule that points to the conductor. It's that everything is working properly.
The client now wonder if it is possible to make an audio call only participating in this meeting (from a fixed phone Cisco or a mobile phone through the existing ISDN gateway blade.
There is an active CUCM trunk but I don't see how someone can dial a SIP URI by phone. It's an older version CUCM so numbering URI is not implemented.

Is it possible to create a transform for this?

    Thank you in advance!

No, you need a CUCM version that allows the numbering URI and endpoints that can make the URI numbering.

    Hello

These messages can be configured by using the advanced > settings customized in the conductor model.

    I would recommend something like:

    {"customOnlyVideoParticipantMessage": "German insert here", "useCustomOnlyVideoParticipantMessage": true}

The complete list of the attributes that you can configure is available on page 57 from http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/ts/...

  • Question TMS and conductor - conferences to improve safety by using conference

    Hi people,

Currently, I implement some projects involving Cisco Telepresence conductor and I was wondering the benefits that conductor brings to the video network, it's really a great solution!

Discover the benefits of the conductor, I created the following deployment:

It works very well! The customer is very satisfied with the level of security when using this deployment. Their multi-point conferences is safer now.

Well, when I created this topology I considered not how the environment would work when planning conferences, with TMS and conductor because this client has yet to TMS. Then, I was just shocked when I opened the TMS deployment guide e conductor and find the following statement:

Note: The exposed conductor TelePresence conference type is not supported in Cisco TMS. Only models conference using the conference meeting type are supported.

    Page 13 - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/tms/config_guide/TelePresence_Conductor_with_Cisco_TMS_Deployment_Guide_XC1-2_TMS14-1.pdf

I almost jumped the bridge... Now, I know that my great topology no longer works with TMS.

    Well, here are my questions:

Why do we have this limit?

That Cisco plans to fix this?

The guide is related to the conductor XC1-2 and 14-1 TMS, something has changed in TMS 14.2.2 and XC2.1?

I'd appreciate any help really, really!

    Thanks in advance.

[...] I am wondered the benefits that Conductor brings to the video network, it is really a great solution!

Agreed! The driver of the telepresence really is a great product.

Why do we have this limitation?

Because the feature was never implemented on the side TMS. It was decided that the other characteristics are more important and should be a priority. There is nothing on the type of conference 'Read' which is inherently incompatible with the TMS, but work needs to be done first.

    Examples:

    • The control of conference centre: you will probably see the entries in double Conference if you are using a 'read' conference
    • TMS does not differentiate between the presidents and guests during the creation of scheduled conferences 'Conference' on the conductor.

None of them are very difficult to solve from a development point of view, but they are not trivial to apply or test either.

Does Cisco have plans to fix that?

Nothing specific is planned, don't. As always: if it is a problem to your customer, make a request to feature through your account manager or another Cisco point of contact.

The guide is related to Conductor XC1-2 and TMS 14-1, has any thing been changed  in TMS 14.2.2 and XC2.1?

Conductor XC 2.1 and TMS 14.2.2 is a combination not supported, but nothing has been changed to

2.2 XC and 14.3 TMS: types of conference 'Read' are not yet supported.

  • Presentation of the action does not work during the Conference

    Hello world

    Here's the background
    -CUCM 10.5
    -Telepresence conductor XC4.1
    -Telepresence Server (VM) 4.2
    -Endpoint: MX300

I have problem when sharing a presentation at the Conference meeting.
    It doesn't seem to work.
However, the part of presentation works with success during a normal 2-way call

I read an article by cisco,
    http://www.Cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/TD/docs/Telepresence/infrastructure/con...

A field is related to the function of presentation,

    Allow the content
(Available when the preference of Service has a type of telepresence MCU Conferencing Bridge)
Whether or not, participants will be able to send video content, such as a presentation.

Yes: one lane will be reserved on each cascade TelePresence MCU and TelePresence MCU primary specifically for content. Use this setting to enabled WebEx conferences.

No: the participants will not be able to send content, regardless of the number of ports available on the MCU. Content can always be displayed, since some end points provide content in their main video channel.

    The default value is Yes.

Need MCU allow sharing feature? or I missed something?

    Thanks in advance

    Sam

Allow that content is available only when the conference bridge is an MCU and does not apply to a server of telepresence.  The only thing you need to do within the Orchestra, is ensure that "content quality" within the model of the Conference is not set to 'Off', see the top of pg 61 of the guide that you have linked to your post.  Also, make sure you have enabled on the SIP Trunk to driver in CUCM BFCP.

  • Assign the PMP license to specific users without TMS

    Hello guys,.

IM development environment of videoconferencing on my client with this specification:

    -Worm CUCM 11.x

    -Telepresence conductor XC4.0 (only 1)

-vTelepresence Server ver 4.2 (only 1)

My problem is im using PMP licenses, no screen. So I really confuse how to assign the license PMP to specific users.

I already insert the driver's license, like the image below:

the multiparty license on driver State said: I already have 25 license PMP but assign 0. and he said: if I did a conference call, he used license SMP, so the lack of SMP license error always come. So I need 1 license PMP connection to my user / ext to remove the error warning.

    I can do without TMS?

If can, please help me with this.

    Thank you all.

    Best regards

    Christophe.

The recommendation is to use use AD to import users in CUCM and TMSPE to make sure that all the same users are added.  However, you may manually create users in CUCM and TMSPE as long as the details between the two systems are the same, including the address of the video as that will identify the user as long as the host of the CMR.

  • Network, VCS - head of the Orchestra-TS communication ports

Hello, I have a bit of confusion, an internal conference call, involved two systems VC, VCS - concuctor-TPserver.

What are the ports and management, in the present called?

    443,

5061 sip signaling? Endpoint: 5061-> VCS: 5061-> Condutor: 5061-> TPserver?:

    ports of media? Endpoint <->VCS<->TPserver

    Thank you

See reference below. This is based on my understanding.

    • Video endpoints will register for VCS by using SIP TLS (secure) for the call signaling.
    • VCS and conductor will communicate via (secure) using TLS SIP neighbour area.
    • Conductor and TP server/MCU will communicate using SIP TLS (secure) for the call signaling and support participant self-composed for the TP server/MCU to find out where signage application.
    • Conductor and TP server/MCU will communicate over HTTPS for the conductor manage the TP server/MCU remotely.
    • Media between video endpoint and the conference bridge (TP server/MCU) will directly flow in both directions, once the call signaling based.

For more details have a look at the deployment guide: http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/conductor/config_guide/xc3-0_docs/TelePresence-Conductor-Cisco-VCS-B2BUA-Deployment-Guide-XC3-0.pdf

  • Two mcu 4205 cluster?

Two mcu 4205 (4.4) with the same software both have 12 media port, now I have to make them work together as an mcu and 12 multimedia ports, have also the active guard and can be composed of devices or conferences by identification number, also I need if one of them is toward the bottom of the can function as main mcu and conferences continue

    How can I get there?

Grouping/stacking of the MCU is not supported for 4200 series or 4500 to two MCU operate together as one.

Clustering/stacking is supported only for the 5300 MCU series. You can only cluster/stack two units of the MCU.

The idea of clustering/stacking the MCU is to increase capacity. The cluster will provide the sum of the capacities of the individual units. For example, if group you two microcontrollers that each supports 10 ports x 1080 p you supported a cluster which takes 20 ports x 1080 p.

Optionally you can mount your two cascading 4205 microcontrollers:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/conferencing/Telepresence-MCU-4505/118763-config-MCU-00.html

Another solution is that you need a Cisco conductor who works with VCS/CUCM.

Take a look at these links for more information about deploying Cisco conductor:

  • Conductor of telepresence

    Hello

Any RDC to export report driver Telepresence is possible, as CUCM. or for having reported, we require MSDS. Pls suggest

Conductor send data CDR what whether you are looking for the moment, see bug CSCuj42268, in order to get the Conference CDRs, you'll need to add conference bridges in MSDS. Below the limits of statement are described with conductor conferences.

    • Detail records (CDRs) of appeal conference bridges managed by TelePresence driver will contain all ConferenceIDs.
    • Conductor of telepresence itself does not feed back any conference CDRs to Cisco TMS. Bridges will be however, if added to the Cisco TMS.
    • According to the direction of the call, you could get incomplete of the COR, as outgoing calls can lead to incorrect data.
    • Bridge usage reports is not supported for conferences hosted on a driver of telepresence.

To read these terms and others, refer to the conductor with the TMS (XC3.0 with TMS 14.6) Deployment Guide.  You can also check the local CMR Deployment Guides for more information as well.

  • Conductor of telepresence on dial

    Hey guys,.

I'm running into a problem where I can not the conductor of telepresence to dial on a TCS alias record.  I configured a location and a car participant made up, but when I have 2 people to participate in the Conference I never see the driver dial a number in the alias of the record.  I have checked the VCS logs and see nothing.  I'm sure I'm missing something stupid, but any help would be appreciated.  This is a new installation of net.

Looks like you have a misconfigured port somewhere check your settings bridge conference Chief of Orchestra and conductor in your VCS area, make sure that all ports that you use match as well as the Protocol. The logs show that you use TLS, so you'll want to port 5061.

  • Conductor of telepresence + server without encryption?

I'm starting to get a little piece in our test environent with the free driver EGGS and telepresence server.

By reading the conductor 2.2 deployment guide, he refers to encryption keys + SIP TLS as 'necessary' a lot.  As our test environment does not have the encryption key on the telepresence server, is it possible to run the driver + TP server in non-secure mode if we do not have the key, or is it an absolute requirement for it?

Its a point 0 dollar, whereas if you are in a country not encrypted that should be an easy fix.

I've never tried without, a point can be its use of the api over https, which would be

fail on your box. Not sure the encryption of sip, but sure that could also be a show

CAP, especially for the b2bua mode.

Of course, you can try and report your success, but please do not ask if it doesn't

the best way: get a key if possible

  • Conductor of telepresence clustered on the Wan

    Hey Cisco,

We want to deploy servers to clusters of 3 drivers (2 local) and 1 over the Wan to a different domain controller.

From clusters guide 2.x and 3.x it says we need 30 ms RTT between conductor servers, we currently 50ms RTT. Conductor 3.0 supports higher RTT? What are the implications of the higher deployment of conductor with RTT?

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/TD/docs/Telepresence/infrastructure/con...

    Thank you

The round-trip time is always the same, 30ms, and has not changed.

Insofar as any issue you might encounter if you exceed the round-trip time, take a look at this discussion driver-clustering-and-time of latency.

  • Telepresence Server / conductor

I have a question about setting up locations and licenses on telepresence Server/conductor.

In the lab guide, you can create a site with AD Hoc and conferences go to one location. This require two licenses of location?

So you must put in place an MCU on telepresence BLAH ad hoc calls?  I use the telepresence server and conductor on VMware. It is connected to an IX5000.  Video calls go work with the three end points... but I can't have special video calls to work and that's really the question. I suspect that it's because I have only one license and the only defined place ad - hoc and configuration of Rendezvous.

When I try and add the third endpoint video none of the video is active and the conductor was not aware of any current conference.

    Hope make sense

    Hello

The ix5000 works in the same way that the CTS and make endpoints TX, she doesn't have the ability to promote a conference for a multimedia resource with a MRGL, only to make an audio call only and it fill in the call or the Conference on what it is. If you try to use it on a video endpoint it will join an audio only.

An another endpoint that supports ad-hoc escalation as endpoints software TC can make climbing to the multimedia resource (conductor in this case) and bring the ix5000 to a conference.
