Failure of a registry file - cannot restart the computer.

Hello. So first of all I wanted to say that I am not an expert, but I think I've had more than my share of problems with my computer. Problems not only to get a virus, but questions of crazy system that I have no idea how they occur, or really correct.

I have an Inspiron 1545, Vista service pack 2, 32-bit.

In any case, I have some of my favorites showed it to my sister and I had a bunch of tabs open and Internet Explore was not load the pages to the right, it has happened and I just restart and it works again. I thought that if I manually restarted the computer, IE would my session was interrupted and when I opened it again it would open all my tabs unless I have to go find them and open them myself. I know that you are not supposed to turn off manually when you can actually go and press restart technially menu, but I did anyway... Well apparently, it was a big mistake.

Now my computer does not restart properly. It gives me the option to restart normally, but when I hit, it indicates the green status bar briefly and then goes black and is sitting there, I did not leave very long sit, but I guess that it does not load. Then the other option is allocated to the repair of the system. He says "research issues" and "this may take a few minutes" and just, it scans and analysis, I have let it go a little over half an hour and it did nothing. I guess that he won't do anything if it does nothing in the first ten minutes. Then I hit Cancel and freezes the status on the scan and I manually restart and the same things happen. I press F8 and tried to go into safe mode and it loades among requirments system and then it's again once I didn't let it sit long, since I think that it won't work in all cases.

I went to the System Center restoration and tried again to repair the system and the same thing... nothing happens. I tried to use a restore point, and to a point that one reason is cited even if I just made a couple months ago. In any case, it is said that since I was in a State of limited system may not perform correctly, I would in a higher State, but I can't have one. It also gives rose the failure of a registry file error and then code them (0x8007045D).

I also tried to run the Pre Boot Assesment and he did the first part of the analysis (I don't have the rest) and it gave me this error - hard drive 0 (2000-0146)

I read a little on the way to try to solve this problem online. I think if I can boot into safe mode with command prompt, I can run diskcheck and maybe it will fix what's wrong, but I have not tried yet, I tell myself that it won't work because I can't with regular safe mode. I also read something about starting in the Vista disc, but I don't really know what that means.

My main fear is that I'll lose my stuff. I supported a few months ago, but I take a lot of pictures and I have not in the past months registered and they are very important to me. I'm afraid to lose. I don't know if it's something that I can fix it or if I should try a friend, or just take my computer somewhere.

I hope no one will offer you is a hard drive problems and suggest you get a new, becaue some time ago I had some weird problem I couldn't fix it under warranty, I had the hard drive replaced and it did not fix the issue and I am not under warranty any more.

So, can someone please help me? Thank you!

Hello

You can repair the system from the installation disc. It will replace the corrupted Windows operating system files.

I suggest you to go through the steps mentioned in the link and the Coachman.

  • cannot restart the computer after the installation of el capitan 10.11.3

After installing el capitan 10.11.3 on my iMac intel with lyon, my screen is gray and I can't restart.  I lost the free memory.  Help!

Please take each of these steps that you have not already tried it. Some of them are not applicable to your model or your situation. Stop when the problem is resolved.

To restart a computer is not responding, press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the unit turns off, then release, wait a few seconds and press again briefly.

    Step 1

The first step to respond to a startup failure is to secure data. If you want to keep the contents of the boot drive and you have not already at least a current backup, you should try to back up now, before we do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care the data changed since the last backup, you can skip this step.

There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to store backup data.

    a. starting the partition recovery or an hour Local Machine backup volume (button option key at startup). When the OS X Utilities appears, launch disk utility and follow the instructions in this support articleto the title of the "Instructions for the backup on an external hard drive via disk utility". The article refers to the start of a DVD, but the recovery mode procedure is the same. You don't need a DVD if you use OS X 10.7 or higher.

    (b) If step 1 fails due to disk errors, and no other Mac is available, then you may be able to save some of your files by copying them in the Finder. If you already have an external hard drive with OS X installed, the start of it. Otherwise, if you have access to the Internet, follow the instructions on this page to prepare the external hard drive and install OS X on it. You will use the installation program of recovery, rather than download it from the App Store.

    c. If you have access to a Mac, and it work and have both the non-working Mac FireWire ports or stroke, start the Mac non-working in target disk mode. Work Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique will not work with USB, Ethernet, Wi - Fi or Bluetooth.

    d. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is replaceable by the user, remove it and climb into a docking station that is pregnant or an external drive. Use another Mac to copy the data.

    Step 2

If you have booted from an external drive, make sure that the internal boot volume is selected in the pane of the system preferences Startup disk.

Start in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. If you do not see the words "Safe Boot" in the start screen, you did not start in safe mode. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, and some things don't work at all, including the networks without wire on some Macs.

The login screen is displayed even if you normally connect automatically. You must know the password for the connection to connect. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

If the startup progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or the system stops automatically when the progress bar appears, the boot volume is corrupted and the player is probably defective. In this case, go to step 9. If you have another problem with the player, replace it immediately.

If you can start and log in in safe mode, empty the trash and then open the window of info on the boot volume ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name.) Make sure you have at least 9 GB of space available, as shown in the window. If you do not, copy as many files as necessary on another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion is not complete until you empty the trash again. This, until the space is more than 9 GB. Then restart as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

If the boot process hangs again, the problem is probably caused by third-party software you have installed. Ask for additional instructions.

    Step 3

If the startup process stops at a gray screen together with a mobile cursor, then the logon dialog box may be active but not visible because of a bug. You may be able to connect by using the arrow keys or the cursor to select the password field and type your password as usual.

    Step 4

Case of failure of step 3, the boot volume can be complete. If you saw previously implemented guard space drive is low, it is certainly the case. You might be able to start in safe mode , even if you cannot boot normally. Otherwise, boot from an external hard drive, or well technology for step 1b, 1 c or 1 d allows to mount the internal drive and delete some files. According to the documentation from Apple, you need at least 9 GB of free space on the boot (as shown in the Infolog) for normal operation volume.

    Step 5

If a Mac desktop (without the built-in keyboard) crashes on a gray screen together with a mobile cursor, the keyboard may not be recognized. Hold down the button on the side of a wireless Apple keyboard to make it discoverable. If need be, replace or recharge the batteries. If you use a USB keyboard connected to a hub, connect it to a built-in port.

    Step 6

Sometimes, a startup failure can be solved by resetting the NVRAM.

    Step 7

If there is an integrated optical drive, a disk may be stuck in there. Follow these instructions to remove it.

    Step 8

Press and hold the power button until the unit turns off. Disconnect all devices wired except those needed to start and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use another keyboard and/or mouse, if these devices are wired. If you can start now, one of the devices that you disconnected, or a combination of both, the origin of the problem. Discover that it is a process of elimination.

    Step 9

Launch the utility disk in recovery mode (see step 1). Select the boot volume, and then run the repair disk. If problems are found, repeat until that clear. If disk utility reports that the volume is not repairable, the drive is defective and must be replaced. You can choose to tolerate such malfunction in the reader's life. In this case, delete the volume and restore it from a backup. If the same thing happens again, replace the drive immediately.

It is one of the rare situations where you must also run repair permissions, ignoring the erroneous warnings, that it can produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then restart as usual.

    Step 10

If the boot device is an aftermarket SSD, it may have an update and/or a forced "garbage collection". Instructions how to do this with a Crucial SSD of brand have been posted here. Some of these instructions may apply to other brands of SSDS, but you should check with the technical support of the provider.

    Step 11

Reinstall the OS. If the Mac has upgraded an earlier version of Mac OS X, you need the Apple ID and password used to upgrade.

    Step 12

Do as in step 11, but this time clear the disk utility boot volume before installing. The system should restart automatically in the installation wizard. Follow the prompts to transfer data from one Time Machine or another backup.

    Step 13

This step applies only to models that have a battery logic-board ("PRAM"): all of the Mac Pro, MacBook with a removable main battery and a few others (models not updated). A flat battery logic-board may cause a boot failure. In general the failure will be preceded by the loss of the system and boot disk clock settings. Refer to the user manual for replacement instructions. You may need to take the machine to a provider of services to have to replace the battery.

    Step 14

If you get this far, you probably deal a hardware failure. An appointment of 'Genius' to an Apple Store, or select another authorized service provider.

  • Cannot restart the computer after the deletion of XP SP3

I had a problem with Outlook Express (he would hang whenever I tried to open it) so I thought I'd install Windows XP Service Pack 3 (I'm currently under SP2).  I downloaded and tried to install it.  It has got 3/4 of the way through the installation, and then become immune.  I hit the button cancel, rebooted and everything was normal with the exception of Outlook Express.  Then I went to add & remove programs to see if something was there that shouldn't be and noticed that XP SP3 had replaced my XP SP2 but, system information showed SP2.  I removed XP SP3 using Add & Remove programs and then restarted.  At the start, my computer is going to happen to the Windows XP start screen, the loading bar will go twice on the screen and then the comp goes in another finally restart promping me to choose the safe mode or normal boot upward.  If I choose normal startup upwards, it does the same thing again.  Safe mode works very well.

I hope that there is an alternative to reinstalling windows (but I doubt that it is).

If I have to reinstall windows, how to back up e-mail and address book files?  Should what type of things I write down to make sure I can reconnect to my e-mail server as soon as I did reinstall it?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I was able to resolve my problem starting by calling Microsoft support.  It ends up being a corrupted video driver that caused my computer to boot the system.  The driver has become corrupted when I canceled the installation of SP3 after he become inadmissible.  Microsoft support said it must have updated the driver and when I uninstalled SP3, it must have corrupted the driver.  After 95 minutes on the phone, we have the problem solved.  My problem with Outlook Express is still not resolved and I posted the problem in the forum proper.  I will try to answer the questions you posted in this forum to better inform you of what we are dealing with.  I'll have to do later as I'm typing this from work.

    Thank you for your help.

  • Would never be able to stop or restart the computer in the menu after the 10.11.5 update and cannot get the 10.11.6 because iMac restart

After the 10.11.5 update, that I could never restart or shut down my iMac (late 2013, 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3) using the new menu. I can only stop it by pressing the button for a few seconds. I saw a few discussions addressing the question here and have tried to implement some of the solutions proposed, such as restarting in safe mode, deleting the application from Wacom-, but nothing has worked. Now I can't get the 10.11.6 updating or update my Adobe Creative cloud, incidentally, which became available to me, because I can't restart the computer. Do you know if this update would be better and solve the problem? Is there a way I can get this update even if I cannot restart the computer, or even to restore the system to an earlier version?

Perhaps run EtreCheck and post the results here.

    Hello

    Method 1:

    Method 3:
You can read the following article.
Cannot install updates in Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2509997
Note: this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base. How to back up and restore the registry in Windows:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/back-up-the-registry
Note: if bad sectors are found by running the check disk utility and if the attempt to recover bad sectors is verified when checking the disk for errors, data in the bad sector might be lost in the attempt to recover bad sectors.
    Method 4:
I also suggest that you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.
The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
Important: when running Scan disk hard if bad sectors are found on the hard drive when parsing tent repair this sector if all available on which data may be lost.
    It will be useful.

How can I configure my windows 7 after restoring my laptop to the factory conditians?

My laptop had a blue screen and I couldn't get rid of it, I went into safe mode and restore my computer to factory conditions. When the computer says "the installation program starts services" you stop and I couldn't turn it back on for 15 minutes. When I turned on and tried to contained my setup, a message keeps poping up "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error." Windows Setup cannot continue. To install windows, click ok to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. "But no mader, how many times I reboot my laptop, the same message appears. What should I do? I've restored my computer several times and never had this problem.

    You should try another recovery.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

If I read this correctly, you have a portable computer that do not have an operating system on it.  You try to install Vista and get the error.
You've restarted the Vista installation?  So then you get the same error? If you have tried to install more than once and continue to receive this error, check that the laptop is capable of Vista?  You may need to check with the manufacturer of the laptop to see if it is able to support Vista.
