False advertising - no card "double band" in the Laptop Inspiron 7537

Dell has falsely announced that Inspiron 7537 has a dual band wireless card. I bought one only to discover this small 'mistake' he was too late, the laptop came with a subpar single band card which is great slow and abandons the connection frequently.
Three cats with Dell customer 'Care' and two conversations with their technology "phone support" later, they have not even pretend to try to find a solution or to offer any assistance. Technical support sent me the customer service technical support customer, then it bounces twice more, and then they give me yet another number to call where they are, of course, never pick up the phone.

That's what you get from Dell after having scammed you out of $1500 +.

For quicker assistance please this repost in the forum of customer care.

  • Graphics card double output for the motorway A58

    Hi guys,.

Work just gave me a Lenovo A58 SFF and while I don't have the serial number, I don't know what follows-

    Lenovo ThinkCentre A58
    Small form factor
    Intel CORE 2 QUAD Q8400
    4 GB OF RAM
    Hard drive 320 GB

The machine is used only for work (spreadsheet, processing and internet) and I would like to run two monitors (both with VGA, PCI and HDMI inputs), but Lenovo A58 LTS offers only one VGA output.

I did a quick search for graphics in this forum, but suggestions seem to be a little out of date as the machine is a bit long in the tooth now.

As I work for a small business, we do not have a 'IT Department', so it is left up to me to sort.

If you could please provide me with some options, it would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Chris.

    (1) the onboard graphics on the A58 can support 2 monitors. The card is in fact the second connector for the integrated graphics card.

    (2) limitation is that to do with graphics performance, you can not play on it. But Office apps will work fine. normal movies will work as well.

    (3) it's a true second monitor, you can expand the view to make both monitors independently managed.

  • How to open my card reader to insert the card multimedia on my new laptop inspiron 17r

I have a small door on the front of my laptop (Inspiron 17r). I feel stupid, but how to open to insert my camera media card?

If this is the same as that on my new Dell Vostro and it looks like a slot in plastic, you just press the plastic slot and release. A dummy plastic card can then be eliminated completely to allow you to put real in memory card.

This is not the best design in the world - its won't be long before I lose the fake plastic card.

  • PLEASE WAIT, BLUE SCREEN, Windows once connected on the new Inspiron 7537 8.1

Hi, this is my head. I have a new (less a week old) 15 inch 7000 series laptop PC with Windows 8.1 pre-installed by Dell UK.

A day after use, I start getting a blue screen that just overlap the start screen (and everything what I am trying to access) saying 'Please wait '. I found on-line means to solve the problem with the option than a job or go back to a restore point. For the last 3 days, I had to perform system restores and especially don't want to continue to do every day.

Notice all the I changed is to install Chrome.

I use this site http://www.optimizewindows8.net/2014/01/fixing-please-wait-screen-problem-in-windows-8-8-1/ but it seems that this problem is very popular and there is no solution yet.

    Results

    • Method 4: perform a system restore: The only method that works so far goes back to a restore point.
    • Method 1: launch Safe Mode and perform a clean boot n ' not work, same error after reset. So don't go to investigate the item as they were all off the coast.
    • Method 2: fix the filesystem with CFS scan - I have to do this, you do not have media.
    • Method 3: log in using another account - Not tried but as I only have one account. Plus a lot of people is reporting that they must exercise in using this method with taskkill restoreoptin.exe
    • Method 5: stop waiting for updates: When I got my laptop it turned slowly making me think that something has not been installed correctly.
    • Method 6: end task restoreoptin.exe: You need another account to do this. Trying to restoreOptIn.exe /Ramp, I found that it created the screen 'Please wait '.

I disabled the Sky drive sync'ing as many messages talking about problems of integration with the operating system.

Before I do the kickoff at the Dell support by phone, does any body knows more about this?

Go looking around I found that in the "app My Dell' under 'story checkup\System' a critical error the day I received the laptop. I want to completely reinstall my system but I do not have the media, have no idea where to find my windows key. I found something on "download software factory" on the Dell site, but it did not work. What are you supposed to do here.

Hi Chris.  I don't have any real help to you that I'm sorry to say, but I also encounter the same problem with my new laptop Inspiron 7000.  I tried method 2 and he obtained throughout the analysis of the Sfc at the end without requiring the installation media and get the message: "Windows Resource Protection is not any violation of the integrity.", which was a dead-end too.

Takes me back 20 years for Windows 2 and all conflicts of dark material that allows us to get then. Windows 8 rhyme with mistake as far as I'm concerned.

  • Cannot configure the Laptop Inspiron 15 5559 to boot from the DVD drive

I have a new laptop Inspiron 15 5559 .  There seems to be no way to configure the BIOS to boot from a repair disc to win 10.  After an accident on my old laptop, I know how it is important to be able to restore a disk image of my external backup.

Help please because I do not see how to get the player optical, listed in the boot order.  It doesn't seem to be any mention of it.

the bios is probably corrupted also not hostile user. try Googling a tutorial of bios dell for the setting of parameters for 5559. Lucky, you're not going to find one. It's not even a decent manual. the user must download the recovery files that must be installed on the hard drive before l/p of the plant leaves. the Bios is archaic and most of the time does not meet the evolution of the legacy in the uefi. you could try to update the bios, but I doubt that you will succeed even after doin so. call the tech and have them try. I did and they screwed up my 5559 and they had me reinstall the recovery of a usb drive, they sent. It helps took 5 hours to install. then another 3 hours of updates. and the 5559 still does not work properly. Maybe I got a lemon. However the subject requested, and every time I called dell every question I asked I was put on hold. what say you. He offered dell technicians, although very courteous do not know and don't have to put you on hold the Conference with other technicians or find which could help. Sorry to be critical but after over the hours on the phone most of the time on hold dell tech dept is not up to snuff.

It applies only if your store has been involved in the transaction and gave you the relevant documents to allow the operation.

Unfortunately, that was back before October 26, 2012, which is the date that Windows 8 has been made public. Needless to say that the offer was not available for a while.

  • Install the new hard drive on the Laptop Inspiron 8600

With the help of people on this forum, I installed a Scopio 160 GB ATA - 100 Mobile Hard Drive just purchased from Dell on my Inspiron 8600 HD.  I tried to install Windows XP with the Dell reinstallation CD, this origianally came with the Inspiron 8600.  Installation starts, runs for awhile and then informs me that there is no hard drive.  I tried to reinstall the Hard Drive - the same thing.  I tried to install the Dell CD Drivers and Utilities - same thing.  Anyone have any ideas where to go from here?   The system has recognized my old HD, but in 5 or 10 minutes or the BSOD appeared.  Diagnostics Dell CD indicated that everything was ok except the HD.  I'm assuming that the HD is not installed correctly, it is the bad HD or it does not.  I appreciate the help.  No software is not supplied with the disk ATA Scorpio.

Of course, you need not to install a card in a laptop computer that it should support another monitor.

    ==================================

You may need to update your display and video driver

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For
each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description,.
version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver in the Windows updates,
This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause
questions. If updates offers a new driver and then hide it (right click on it) and then go look for new ones
    manually if you wish.

  • HP 15-r013ca Notebook PC: updated my wireless card to a double band and so I have the ability to use the available 5 GHz

How can I replace my card with a card dual band wireless, so I can connect to my disposal, 5 GHz and who to contact if I can buy this wireless card. Thanks for all the information and your time in this matter... Daryl

Because of the configuration of 1 x 1 antenna in your laptop, the only way you will be able to upgrade to able to use the 5 Ghz band is to use a usb wifi dongle.

  • The AirPort Extreme has it double bands?

I'm looking into buying an AirPort Extreme. Support double bands? If Yes, can I set up so that the two groups have the same network name, and the device can choose which one to use?

    Support double bands?

    Yes, by default.

can I set up so that both groups have the same network name.

It is the default set up for AirPort Extreme.  It is also possible to assign different names to the bands 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz if you wish.

and the device can choose which one to use?

In theory, Yes. In practice, things don't always work out so although theory suggests, you need to check and see how well facilities choose their connections in your home.

  • Switch the Wi - Fi to double band on Satellite P850

    Hello

I was wondering if its possible to update the standard WLAN card in P850 Satellite to a dual band wifi? ... thnx

    Hello

I guess you want to use the standard 802.11 N at two frequencies: 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz.
    Right?

The point is that 802.11 N at 5 GHz is perhaps only if the WLan card would also support the 802.11 standard.

Theoretically, you can use a network card wireless standard 802.11 A/B/G/n, but there is always a question about the compatibility of the BIOS.

The motherboard supports and slot miniPCI and you can use a network card wireless Mini-PCI for an upgrade, but in many cases the new WLan miniPCI card would not be handled by the BIOS...

  • ADAPTER DOUBLE BAND ONLY SHOW THE 2 GHZ RANGE, HAVE LOST 5 GHZ BUT PRESENT ON ALL OTHER PCS

I inadvertently "REMOVED" the recognition of 'network' of 5 ghz on a menu that allowed me to "remove unnecessary networks."  I thought I was doing the right thing, but deleted by mistake the 5 ghz. Now I just can't side 5 ghz of the card to show as an available network when I click available networks at the bottom right of my screen.

My dual band router LInksys is certainly put 2 and 5 ghz because I can see them on other PCs in the House and my Iphone6. It's only the HP All In One which now lacks the recognition of 5 ghz.

It was working fine before my despicable act. I could easily switch between 2 ghz or 5 ghz...

I rebooted router and reset I can see the 'admin' menu for the router on this computer.  I restarted my HP. I tried to restore my pc soon, and no effect. It seems that somehow I just simply deleted a vital statement or turned a vital switch that prevent this receiver WiFi HP-receive adapter or by switching to the 5 ghz range and the value by default only the 2 ghz.

My system details also show that it is a working adapter RALink 3290 80211 bgn

Is there a way to turn this back on? How do I re - establish the 5 ghz network on this HP?

    Any help out there?

    George P

    You are the very welcome.

That is right.  No 'a' doesn't = No 5 GHz.

I can't explain why you thought you saw other 5 GHz networks on your PC.

The only wireless networks that should be visible on your PC are only in the 2.4 GHz band, because it's all Ralink card in your model can see.

You might be able to replace the card with a wireless card dual band but I can't say for sure.  Some PC have a BIOS lock that prevents users from installing a different wireless card.

You would have to make sure your PC has two antennas connected to the current Ralink wireless card because all dual-band cards have at least two terminals of the antenna to connect to.

I would say the best thing you can do would be to go to your local office supply store and pick up a wireless network adapter dual band USB external.

They now power USB wireless adapters, so you can get one of these.

You wouldn't have any compatibility or hardware issues with an external USB card and not worry about BIOS locks or the number of antennas inside your PC.

Salvation; I bought a GTX950 card (and I replaced the power supply with a power so this isn't a problem), but I found that this Board/case seem to have a weird hole in the back design - specifically, instead of having a bumpy thing (I don't know what it's actually called), he seems to have a small bunch outside , and it doesn't look like my card can fit in there. Is it possible to install this card two slot or do I have to return it and get a unique one niche?
