Fast storage issue

Just a really quick question.  On my Macbook Pro is says I have 215 GB free of 250 GB.  So, I understand that I have 215 GB free.  I'm curious as to why he shows a bar where he explains that 105 GB have been used on the Apps, etc.  Coming from the 215 gb it says I have free or is this bar which displays applications, etc. of something else?  BTW, I haven't downloaded Apps, it's the stuff that came with my Macbook.  Thanks for answering my question!

Is it possible that you misread "MB" and reported it as "Go"?

Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.

    • Press and hold the sleep/wake button
    • Press and hold the Home button
    • Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.

Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings

If that doesn't work, restore your device to factory settings. Please note that this will delete the data on your device.

  • Storage issue: RDM

I have 3 file servers which don't do much besides host shared volumes NTFS (large). I want to virtualize servers said but I have problems with one of the components are how to get their existing LUN in my ESX environment without copying all 3TBs in vmfs. Storage for my environment of vmfs-based (expensive) FC disks and storage for my file systems is based on less expensive SATA drives (virtualized and not presented as SATA drives). This is where that comes RDM to play? I can map these LUNS to the ESX host as RDM files and preserve their NTFS volumes?

No problems.  By default, Windows 2000 doesn't have a driver for FREE.  Free is the fastest scsi controller, but I wouldn't bother with windows 2000, unless you have a lot of them.  For windows 2003, I would use the free.  This can be changed later, but it is more difficult to change on the fly for windows 2000, it tends to a blue screen.  Windows 2003, you can change as needed.

Whatever it is, scsi controllers will operate, free is faster that the BusLogic alire be your preferred to use type.  You can map drives to 14, by controller and up to 4 controllers, so you can have a lot many readers.

  • iPhone/iCloud storage issue

I have a 64 GB iPhone 6s and 200 GB of storage iCloud. Whenever I plug in my iPhone and watch my storage, I see that I have Photos 14.12 and 27,67 GB of data and Documents on my iPhone. However, I use iCloud for photos and helped my office and documents on my MacBook Pro to be accessible from iCloud. My question is, why do I all this on my iPhone when I thought that it would be on iCloud? Wouldn't that means that it would not directly on my phone and I have a lot more space on my phone?

(Hard drive in the sky)-based solution to what you think, is that iCloud is a traditional cloud, but in fact, it is not.  It is a system of synchronisation/mirroring, i.e. post all your data and fills in all of your devices is available immediately.

If you are looking for traditional storage cloud base, you will need to consider options/third-party applications, for example for pictures - Flickr, Dropbox, Google; and for notes - Evernote, Google Dungeon, etc.

  • MacBook Air storage issues - I have iCloud but using too much data, which is a better solution?

I have a Macbook Air processor intel and storage 4 GB, I use iCloud for storing all my data, but recently I had a problem with too much use of my data internet home. We are limited because we live in a rural area. So I guess I have two questions: 1) can I use an external hard drive to avoid having to use my iCloud? and if I do which is the best to use external storage drive? I have a lot of files and photos, I am a real estate agent. I got this Macbook Air since September 2015 still invite us to her also. Next question, can I use another Mac with a bigger hard drive instead of the MacBook Air? My son told me in the Macbook air because of its features, but the storage for me is imperative. Please notify

Use many small external drives that you can carry in your pocket that connect to the computer via USB 3.0. Shop for them at Amazon.com.

BTW, 4 GBs is the memory of the computer, no storage. MBA come with built-in SSD from 128, 256 or 512 GB capacity. You choose the MBA with the SSD model that best fits. However, once you make the computer cannot be updated.

  • Storage issue on Apple TV (4th Gen) new screensavers download

    Hey guys,.

I couldn't really find an answer out there on a question about storage on the new ATV4.

New screensavers Ariel are impressive. As most of you know there is a new option to download new videos daily, weekly, ect...

Just below it warn you that downloads can take up 600 MB of storage. Considering that I have the 32 GB model, I was curious to see exactly how it works. There is no place in the general settings that show all of the files real screensaver downloaded in order to manually delete to free up storage.

Are replaced by the new, old screen saver because they are downloaded? Or am I earning the 600 MB each day as a new screensaver downloads? If anyone has any info or advice, I would really appreciate it. Thank you guys!

    Happy new year to everyone

Yes, each screensaver is about ~ 200 MB. So if you choose all day every day about 3 new vids are added and 3 yesterday are replaced.  Every month means that you get the same videos every month. There is no 'user management' for storage on the ATV.  It's some people have limits of data and do not want to use their allowance for a change of daily screensaver...

  • Advocate for help with fast storage Y500 disk cache

Question: 1 to Sata and 16 GB mSata SSD drives got rid of all the partitions, and new copy of Windows 8 installed on the 1 TB drive. It is that I'm unable to confirm Intel Rapid Storage is configured to use the mSata SSD as cache drive, and I do not think that it IS configured based on see Win8 Disk Mgmt through that entire SSD (showing about 15 GB) is not allocated and is not be used by anything. Attempts to implement using link below do not work that there is no 'Accelerate' button in the Intel Rapid Storage Technology utility, as shown in the graphic in this post. I even installed the chipset driver before the util Rapid Storage according to the readme instructions I found out of the Intel site.

To answer this forward - there no option in my BIOS RAID, as seems to be the solution for other IdeaPad models.

Call the #1 to Lenovo Support - Tech first asked me to set up RAID and after having informed him there was no BIOS RAID option, he informed me of the installation of the equipment for caching SSD drive was fully automatic and needed no software. I found this suspicious and later decided to call again to ask for the check disk cache is enabled...

Call #2 to Lenovo Support - after a period of 90 min or so call and another suggestion to set up RAID, even if there is no other choice, the technology has suggested that "the only way to get the configured disk cache is to return the laptop to the warehouse for them charge the appropriate partitions.» I asked if he has ever heard about any other machine ever which were to be sent to the factory to get a piece of hardware working in the event of corruption of data/partition say hard drive, or if someone wanted to upgrade their hard drive. He said: "no, Sir, but it seems that you have more experience than me, so I'm not sure what we can do besides have return you.»

Am I the only one that sounds ridiculous? I have worked on 100 computers and never once had to send a back machine to load the drivers/utils to make a component work - they always had drivers available. And it is a plain jane Windows 8 install, nothing special about it.

I am reaching my wits end, I lost a ton of time with refills and OS configurations. I give up on the mSata drive all together? I have a time difficult swalling that I MUST have Win8 Lenovo OEM load in order to be able to use all of my material.

Any help would be REALLY appreciated!

I think that I figured this out finally. Here's what I did:
1 put flat as well the 1 TB drive and the 16 GB SSD, no flying over partitions, all unallocated space.
2A took the mSata SSD out of the machine before I tried Win8 installed, (leaving it in there, the windows carve 350 MB partition on the SSD drive for a reason even if I chose the 1 TB drive to settle).
    3. install Win8 (I have the Technet version).
    4. updated all drivers Lenovo Web site except the Intel RST util, and I hooked version of NVIDIA driver for my video GeForce GT 650 M.
    5. do you have all Windows updates.
6 clogged mSata SSD back in.
    7. download and install the 64-bit version of memory Cache Express (64-bit) that I found here:

    Cache Express downloads

    8. rebooted as guest

When I came back to the top, I saw my SSD had a partition created and I can only ASSUME since I didn't see any Cache Express installation error and he ruled out a partition on the SSD drive to work. Don't know how I can check it really worked, but it's wayyyyyy closer I got after working on it for a week. I SiSoftware Sandra and I ran a disk performance report before the installation of the Express Cache, so I want to try to run another report and compare.
