  • OfficeJet 5740: Cannot fax from the computer

    My new Officejet 5740, purchased on 11/15/14, worked fine until February 2015 - no problem with any of its functions, including faxes.

    That was all the time I went from a wireless connection to a USB connection and since then out of faxes cannot be sent from the computer, even if they can be sent from the printer by using the LED screen. There is no problem with the incoming faxes.

    Sending the printer with the LED screen is a nuisance of errors compared to the convenience of use of the computer. Lengthy discussions with HP Technical Support have been of any help. The technicians seem to think I should just give up and use the LED screen on the printer.

    After trying in vain to send an outgoing fax using the computer, the Fax status window appears saying "queue... "as the status of the fax, and it never goes one further.

    Is it possible that my passage in wireless USB connection type caused the problem? Maybe I need a different driver? If Yes, where can I download one, and what should I go for? Thank you.

    Hello @Harry46,

    Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are not able to send a fax from your HP Officejet 5740 computer, you can send a fax from the front panel.

    I think you just need to update the drivers and software, please proceed with the following steps:

    1. disconnect the USB key if you use a direct connection.

    2. remove the HP software JO 5740 uninstall from the control panel of your computers an option of the program.

    3. restart the computer.

    4. make sure that all them that software JO 5740 has disappeared from the list of programs, but also your HP folder listed under all programs in your Start Menu.

    5. now, go ahead and download the software and drivers for your JO 5740 (DO NOT connect USB until the software prompts you to):

    6. go ahead and print a test page.

    7. If you are unable to print a test page, please run the HP Print and Scan Doctor- designed by HP to provide users with troubleshooting and problem-solving features needed to solve many common problems encountered with HP print and scan products related to Windows computers.

  • HP Officejet 8610: Unable to fax from the computer

    I have a HP Multifunction printer and use the fax from the computer option several times a month. I discovered this week that she did not work AGAIN. I have had this printer about a year and need to reinstall the software several times. When I select the fax printer and say 'print', the fax screen should display and ask where to send them, but nothing happens. When I check the devices screen and printers, it shows the fax as unrelated to printing or pending tasks. The machine is connected because I can print to this well, that's just something wrong with the communication by fax. I found that uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer solves the problem, but the number of times that I needed to do this is frustrating. I guess that something is messed up when windows does its updates. Is there a setting of simple connection that I could update instead of reinstalling everything on all of the computers on my network? Maybe HP could be added a correction for this option to their troubleshooting.

    Hello

    You can use the universal Fax HP driver instead:

    1. Download and extract the following:
      http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL60874/DS-146586-1/HPUFDDriver.zip
      (Use a program like Winzip or right-click on the file and select extract all).
    2. Open the extracted folder and run setup.exe
    3. Follow the instructions on the screen, a printer HP Universal Fax Driver will be created on your PC.
    4. HP Universal print driver Fax, select your printer and check the box to add a queue for your printer.

  • Officejet 6310 all-in-One: can't send faxes from the computer screen

    We use an Officejet 6310 all-in-one printer. Computer of my wife, a laptop Toshiba Satellite Windows 7 Professional, has suddenly come to the point that it will no longer send faxes from the computer screen. We get an error message that something must be installed or reinstalled. We have lost the CD of the software provided with the printer. We can send a fax if we have a document printed to power the machine, and we can print faxes. We lose a lot of paper and ink because of this problem. Help, please.

    Hi GregsterMc,

    Given that the Fax icon is not displayed in the window of printers and devices, you need to uninstall and reinstall the software again. This should solve the problem.

    Thank you.

  • How to upgrade to the user interface of a screen that is extracted from the stack?

    Hello

    I am currently having a problem in the UI update.

    I have two screens called 'OverviewScreen' & 'DetailScreen' and in the upper part of the two screens, I have three buttons

    (i) back

    (II) next

    (III) charging

    In the entry of the app normally I posted the 'OverviewScreen' and in this screen, back, next buttons are inactive positions (just to have two sets of images, one active and one for idle) and if the user clicks on an item that is displayed in the cell, then I'll navigate the user to the "DetailScreen".

    Now the stack should have two screens,

    at the bottom - "OverviewScreen".

    at the top - "DetailScreen".

    and in the "DetailScreen" - I showed the image is active for the "back" button (because the screen is lower in the stack) and for the next inactive button image.

    Now if the user clicks the back button I navigates to the "OverviewScreen" which is called the UiApplication.getUiApplication (.getActiveScreen) (m:System.NET.Sockets.Socket.close ()); in the case of touch

    Now the "OverviewScreen" located in the bottom of the stack to the front UI (basically when I built it for the first time, it contains inactive images next and back) - what I want here is I need to show the following active image therefore needs to update the user interface of the screen that displays battery

    Because,

    OverviewScreen (back, next inactive images)--> DetailScreen (back - active, next - inactive)--> new OverviewScreen (should show the back - off, next - active)

    For this, I tried with what follows, but none works,

    If (event.getEvent () == TouchEvent.CLICK) {}
    UiApplication.getUiApplication () .getActiveScreen () .getScreenBelow () .updateDisplay ();
    UiApplication.getUiApplication () .getActiveScreen () m:System.NET.Sockets.Socket.close ();
    Returns true;
    }

    I even tried with invalidate() and dopaint() but none works

    However, I realized the functionality if I press the off button in the "OverviewScreen" he navigated me to the "DetailScreen", juice wants to show the icon active next button?

    What should I do to repaint or update the user interface of the screen here?

    Thanks in advance,

    Kitty.

    Found a solution

    Override the method which is found in the net.rim.device.api.ui.container.MainScreen and in this method, I have changed the image for the button and this method is called in the current active screen using getActiveScreen () .getScreenBelow)

  • How can I find a real fax from the newspaper?

    How to find a log of the message real fax sent or received?  I'm looking for the actual fax, not only the confirmation of the date and time.

    Sorry, but you will not be able to get the TRUE FAX sent/received. The only thing that is possible is the confirmation page with the date and time, as you mentioned.

  • Send Fax from PC to HP Officejet 4500 all-in-One G510

    When I print to fax printer HP Officejet 4500 G510g-m, no sending a Fax screen opens asking the fax information. It goes directly to the print queue and justs sits there saying print.  Fax works OK when sending the fax paper through the machine.

    This is a new installation, using the option install everything on the HP site.

    OK, I understand now.  I don't want to give the solution uninstall/reinstall typical as I guess you probably already tried.  If this isn't the case, it's maybe you need.  I have a few questions for you:

  • remove the screens from the stack

    I develop a secure application. So if screens are stored in the battery, then after the expiration of session or disconnection, if the user presses the button back (escape) and then the user can view other screens as the screens are sauteed one by one.

    Is it possible that when the user logs off or the session is expired, all screens are exploded out(or destroyed)

    UiApplication app = UiApplication.getUiApplication();
    while(app.getScreenCount() > 0) {
       app.popScreen(app.getActiveScreen());
    }
    app.push(Your Login Screen);

    My PC is Windows 7 64 bit.

    I had to remove and re-install "HP Officejet J6413".

    However, entering "Devices and printers", I can see only 'Officeject HP J6400 Series' but not 'HP Officeject J6400 FAX Series', as it was before. (I also have the options of PDF or PCX methoeds)

  • OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z: failure sending a fax from Word G510n-z

    I use a laptop Toshiba Satellite running Windows 10 with, AFAIK, updates. I am trying to send a Word document by fax to my connected OfficeJet 4500 wireless. The printing process works, I get the dialogue Send Fax, I dutifully fill. The document goes to the queue from print, then disappears. The printer is not composing or anything; the document will just in the bit bucket, without error, not even in the case log.

    Other relevant details:

    • I tried reinstalling the drivers; After several hours the skin of HP software, I did.
    • The laptop has 3 printers associated with my physical device: 2 printers generically named ' HP OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z ' and ' fax HP OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z "; and "HP # (HP OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z) ' (where # is a hexadecimal number of device-specific, I'm not willing to share here). The third argument prints correctly to the book.
    • I can scan documents through the HP Support Center application.
    • Copy and fax work correctly to the device itself. For example, if I have first print the thing, I want to fax, then by fax using the document feeder and the front of the device, it connects and sends the fax correctly.
    • The last time I checked, I was able with a fax in a program on my archaic Macintosh.
    • To repeat the foregoing, no errors are displayed or saved. Each attempt appears in the Fax as "Completed." log I don't want to get all the answers canned on the subject, thank you very much.
    • I browsed this forum of the community and support site and tried what I could find and understand how to do in Windows 10 of bugs. (Disclaimer: I've always been a Mac person and a VMS/Mac/Linux software developer, to try to understand how to do something which expected to be simple in Microsoft mess was not easy for me.) It is not suggested with a laptop given to his wife by a friend, however.)

    What unconscious thing [sic] I'm missing?

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910 Premium will not send fax from computer with Windows 8

    My printer was working fine on Win XP and I could fax directly from the printer or the computer.  I installed 8 32-bit Windows (I am under an older system that works very well for everything that I use it for - thank you very much) and downloaded the latest driver for HP large & software for Win 8 32-bit.  Everything works perfectly, except for the computer fax.

    If I run the test of the printer fax, the fax test PASSES.  If I run the test fax from the computer, the fax test PASSES.

    If I put documents into the feeder of the printer and use the features of fax printer, it Fax beautifully.

    It's only when I fax from the computer, the screen appears with the status of the queue, then state turns to cancelled each time.

    He has always worked on Win XP.

    The FAX and FAX printer driver for the printer-FAX appeared in Control Panel automatically when I installed the HP drivers/software update.  All the properties of the FAX printer seem good.

    I tried a usb connection and a connection of network ethernet, with the same results.

    Printing and scanning all work fine.  I really like this printer and I love it even more if I could figure out how to get by fax a document from the computer.

    When I say fax from the computer, I mean opening a document saying print, select Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910, filling the page of information by fax, selecting my cover page options and press send fax.  Everything like I used to do it before I upgraded to Win 8.  When I hit send fax, it is when I get the popup that fax is in queue, then it goes to cancelled.  No error codes are displayed, no clue as to why, no nothing.  If I print the document and put it in the printer tray I can using display printer fax without problem.

    Very weird.

    Well, I spoke with some of the engineers, and they suggested next steps. First of all, here's a thread on a forum of MS on the removal of an alternate driver.

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730875.aspx

    Another thing to note is that in Win8, you can easily access the command prompt by pressing the windows key and typing "command prompt".

    In addition, I will PM you walk a few others on the removal of the remains of the software from the back-end of your PC. To be sure, you will need TO follow these instructions to the letter.

    Do these two things and let me know what happens after the installation of the printer again since the direct download link I already provided above.

    Let me know and have a great day!
