Faxing from word activates the scanner?

Using XP with HP 4500 All in One.

When I try to fax a document to MS Word 7 only, it displays the fax dialog box, asks for fax and everything but then when I press fax, it opens the interface of scanning.

Any appeal would be welcome.

Thank you

I would like to bring to the text from Word (and the web) which is already a hypertext link in InDesign. How can I do it while keeping the links active?

Whenever I have to copy and paste from the web or Word it removes hyperlinks.  And when I try to do in 'Place' ing a Word document in my InDesign project that it retains formatting with it, the rectangles around the text.

I have the latest version of InDesign.

    Any help is appreciated.

Copy-paste might not include the shaped. A regular import using square is the best way.

The rectangles around the hyperlinks are just to indicate that they are links - they do not print, but they appear in your PDF.

You can delete them by double clicking on the hyperlink in the hyperlinks Panel and select "Rectangle Invisible" as the type.

In general, Word formatting of hyperlinks - blue text, underline - with a character Style. If you want to remove or change the formatting, all you have to do is to change the character style. My experience, however, is that you need to check all the hyperlinks because no reason apparent, sometimes they appear in the document without the character style.

  • How to send a fax from my A210 the internal modem?

I have a laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium and Office 2007 Professional A210 and use the wireless network card to connect with our modem broadband.

For my company, I would like to be able to send faxes through the normal phone line direct to my laptop, instead of purchasing a fax machine.
There is only a Toshiba Software Modem attached to COM3, but I can't work out how to use it to send a fax.
On older computers, I was able to configure the modem fax as a printer driver and sent faxes directly from Word using a print-to-fax option.
I find nothing in the General help Windows or using Word that shows me how to do this on my laptop.

    Any suggestions gratefully received.

  • OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z: failure sending a fax from Word G510n-z

I use a laptop Toshiba Satellite running Windows 10 with, AFAIK, updates. I am trying to send a Word document by fax to my connected OfficeJet 4500 wireless. The printing process works, I get the dialogue Send Fax, I dutifully fill. The document goes to the queue from print, then disappears. The printer is not composing or anything; the document will just in the bit bucket, without error, not even in the case log.

    Other relevant details:

    • I tried reinstalling the drivers; After several hours the skin of HP software, I did.
    • The laptop has 3 printers associated with my physical device: 2 printers generically named ' HP OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z ' and ' fax HP OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z "; and "HP # (HP OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z) ' (where # is a hexadecimal number of device-specific, I'm not willing to share here). The third argument prints correctly to the book.
    • I can scan documents through the HP Support Center application.
    • Copy and fax work correctly to the device itself. For example, if I have first print the thing, I want to fax, then by fax using the document feeder and the front of the device, it connects and sends the fax correctly.
    • The last time I checked, I was able with a fax in a program on my archaic Macintosh.
    • To repeat the foregoing, no errors are displayed or saved. Each attempt appears in the Fax as "Completed." log I don't want to get all the answers canned on the subject, thank you very much.
    • I browsed this forum of the community and support site and tried what I could find and understand how to do in Windows 10 of bugs. It is not suggested with a laptop given to his wife by a friend, however.)

    3. When was the last time it was working fine?
    4. What is the model number of the scanner?

I suggest that you remove and then add the scanner, check if it helps.

  • XP Pro SP3 programs fax everything works except will not activate the modem.

All the routines of fax machine worked correctly in the past, BUT without warning (which was checked and working properly) the modem is more will not activate when the fax software is responsible for sending the message.  I was not able to find hardware problems and even after removing and reinstalling the MS fax routines the modem will not activate.  Would appreciate any ideas about the solution.  Thank you.

It is probably not the modem firmware, although it could be that the modem driver is corrupted.  In both cases, however, a visit to the site of the manufacturer of the modem is in order.

Exactly how did you determine that the modem is working properly?
Have you looked in the Device Manager?
Have you used the 'button interrogate modem' tab of the property sheet for the modem ' Diagnostic'?
Have you tested a data connection using HyperTerminal?  If you do not know the phone number of a "Bulletin Board" (apparently some of these still exist) or the IP address of a server telnet, just to open HyperTerminal and see if you can dial any phone other than the line number to which your modem is connected.

Thank you for your understanding, PML.  I had used all of the tools you mentioned EXCEPT try another modem program!  HyperTerminal doesn't activate the modem, the feature has been confirmed.  I also had a problem with the new creation of file and folder (program installs, etc) setting not permissions to a level of total control of my identifying specifically used (Admin level) which, of course, can cause certain issused orders either by keyboard or input to fail (often with no indication of the cause of failure) program.  Realizing that this situation might be involved with the problem of the fax modem that I started to study the folders and files that are used by the routines of MS Fax.  A lot of the files/folders did not the permissions defined by giving total control of my ID so I adjusted the.  The modem is now triggered by the routine of fax!  Thanks for making me think a bit out of the box (at least my usual box) and providing the index (another modem using program to test the feature running) problems.

Now if I can only figure out why (or what has changed in my system) which causes the folder/file creation process in Blons class "Admin" from my user and privileges not setting high enough!  GG

  • I try to activate the Fax Service. He keeps asking me: a CD with 'Windows Professional Service Pack 3 '.

I try to activate the Fax Service. He keeps asking me: a CD with 'Windows Professional Service Pack 3 '. Of course, I don't have such a CD. When I try Microsoft doewnloading they tell me this service pack is 64-bit, but my computer is running 32-bit. Anyone has an idea how to get around this and activate my fax service?

    Thank you
original title: activate the Fax Service.

XP is expensive now, or maybe you can get a legal CD of a person. You won't have to reinstall you can move the license to your computer, and then install the fax from the CD. You will have also the CD incase never reinstall you or need something else of it.

  • HP OfficejetPro 8600 more: Scan works only from the PC, not the scanner

My scan of my Officejet Pro 8600 function will not work unless I have run a scan uning the software installed on the PC.

When I try to scan from the control panel of the printer, I get a notice that says:

"For scanning to a computer to make sure that the feature is enabled.

"Windows: open PC software, select the Scanner, andf Actions then select Manage scan of the computer.

    Q - How can I do this?

Note: since I downloaded Windows 10 I was unable to find this software; Cortana does not work in my area. If I click on the HP software on my PC now I just get "click here to connect a new printer", which is stupid because it is already connected wireless. My other option is to click on "HP Scan" - this works!... great, so I can scan like that, but there is no setting anywhere under HP Scan that will help me solve the problem.

I checked that the printer and the pc are on the same network and using the same IP address.

    Hello

Thank you for using the forum.

In order to activate "Scan to Computer", you need to install your software first.

What you wrote, it seems that you have just upgraded to win 10.

When you see the icon of the printer and it will prompt you to "Connect for a new priner", please click it and it will guide you to install your printer on 10 to win.

    Activate "Scan to computer".

Here are the steps to activate "Scan to Computer".

    1. Go and click on the software for your printer.
    2. Under the "Scan" it should be a "manage Scan to Computer", click on it.
    3. Select "Scan to computer".

Here is a screenshot (for example) that shows how to turn "Scan to Computer".

    Hope that helps!

  • The Scanner/printer Dell 940 fax.

I have a Dell A940 all-in-one, printer, scanner, copier. I would like to be able to fax from your device. However, when I chose Fax as the destination of a scanned document, I get an error message saying that there is application of fax No.. It is a good Fax program to use with Vista:

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/reviews/Snappy_Fax_2000/snappyfax.html

Snappy Fax allows you to send and receive faxes from your computer. You can use your scanner to scan documents and then sent a fax to any fax machine, or use the print command other applications to use the virtual fax printer, allowing you to send faxes directly from most Windows applications. In addition, the program also supports faxes sending via the internet, filtering of unwanted faxes and transfer incoming faxes to other fax or e-mail addresses. Additional features include import address book, faxes by email (with zip for images support), OCR, spell checking and much more.

  • HP Officejet 8610: Unable to fax from the computer

I have a HP Multifunction printer and use the fax from the computer option several times a month. I discovered this week that she did not work AGAIN. I have had this printer about a year and need to reinstall the software several times. When I select the fax printer and say 'print', the fax screen should display and ask where to send them, but nothing happens. When I check the devices screen and printers, it shows the fax as unrelated to printing or pending tasks. The machine is connected because I can print to this well, that's just something wrong with the communication by fax. I found that uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer solves the problem, but the number of times that I needed to do this is frustrating. I guess that something is messed up when windows does its updates. Is there a setting of simple connection that I could update instead of reinstalling everything on all of the computers on my network? Maybe HP could be added a correction for this option to their troubleshooting.

    Hello

You can use the universal Fax HP driver instead:

    1. Download and extract the following:
      http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL60874/DS-146586-1/HPUFDDriver.zip
(Use a program like Winzip or right-click on the file and select extract all).
    2. Open the extracted folder and run setup.exe
    3. Follow the instructions on the screen, a printer HP Universal Fax Driver will be created on your PC.
    4. HP Universal print driver Fax, select your printer and check the box to add a queue for your printer.

    Kind regards
