FF 8 freezes regularly for about 5 minutes about 1 minute after start

I'm on a HP Pavilion DV7, running windows 7 Home Premium SP1, 64-bit, 4 GB of ram. It was also on this laptop with 7 FF. This also happens when I run in safe mode. I tried just start and not let my homepage (Google), and it still happens. Is not only FF that freezes, the grind of the whole machine to stop, and then after about 5 minutes of that Norton 360 tells me FF made a significant amount of read activity. I tried to run with disabled Norton, same result.

After the shot, everything returns to normal and ff works normally, until the next time I got close and restart ff, or the next time that I reboot and start to ff.

  • A few minutes after starting windows, the laptop crashes

I use a Toshiba laptop model: ppm81e, with windows Vista professional.
Last night it was working fine, but when I woke up this morning, I found that the notebook is turned off. Apparently, for three hours, there was no electricity in our region and which caused the closing down.

When I turn on the laptop, all load pretty normal as before. However, 4 to 7 minutes after the start, computer crashes laptop all at once. I can't disconnect, I can't restart, I can not load the Task Manager, and same taskbar are locked. At the beginning of the process hangs, I can switch between the windows using Alt + Tab but it is useless and will not help anything...

I tried to use system restore, but unfortunately it says there is no restore point previous (I guess it is disabled).
So I tried to use the repair using Recovery DVD that I did the first time I turned on the laptop.

So, I inserted the recovery disc 1 DVD and boot from the DVD.
Now he's stuck in a scene where says:
    ' Waiting for ODD vacancies...
    STRANGE drive f: loan.
Check for support in the F: drive... »

And it is about 30 to 40 minutes, that's all there is...

    Here is the screenshot:
    Screenshot 1
    Screenshot 2

I don't know why the laptop is suspended without no reason that I can think of and I don't know how to get out of this mess, especially when my last shot (DVD release) adds another problem to the equation, instead of solving a.

    Please guide me.

    Hi Jean did.

I suggest that you contact Toshiba support for help with the recovery process.

    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/home.jsp

If you are able to solve the problem of recovery process and the laptop still crashes at startup, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • Satellite P875-102 - touch pad / cursor freezes regularly for 2-3 sec

Very happy to get very new P75-102 Toshiba (Windows 7) - £1. 1 k - WAITED so it works well immediately the day 1 - from the box. Unfortunately, the cursor on a regular basis (either 5 - 6 times in a surf web minutes) hangs for 2 to 4 seconds. Everyone knows that with this very recent machine?

This has nothing to do with the speed / sensitivity settings - it is intermittent gel that makes use of the laptop really frustrating. The official troubleshooting says that the system could be busy - but I have nothing else running and the CPU usage is minimal, no surprise given the power to the computer. Help, please!

From my personal experience this could happen due to stressed CPU.
Even if you do not use a heavy performance, the NECK may be stressed due to the background processes that should be launched when the laptop starts
So I would recommend checking the processes in the process tab (CTRL + ALT + DELETE) Task Manager.
Here you can see which process stresses the CPU and can disable it if possible.

  • Firefox still crashes about 10 seconds after starting

    Hello

I have an old iMac running 10.6.8. After I run Firefox, it crashes after 10 seconds (the beachball of death appears for a few seconds, and then it crashes).

    I tried the following:

    • Run utility disk to repair the disk (was Ok)
    • Disk utility to repair permissions of the drive running (fixed some of them, no of course Firefox related)
    • Remove Firefox app
    • And rename ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox ~/Library/Application Support/NotFirefox so it will not be used
    • Reinstall the latest 23.0.1 of the Firefox 23.0.1.dmg Firefox
    • It still crashes
    • Run Safe Mode and it still crashes

The bug below report comes from the crash to safe mode. He had previously worked for many years.

    Any suggestions?

The installation of the drivers is displayed.

It lasts still minutes (5 to 10 or more)

If I unplug the unit and plug it into another USB port - all again.
During the whole process, the computer becomes very slow and unusable.
The Task Manager shows CPU idle but there is no update on the user interface, new programs may not start.
When the end of the installation then it catches up and everything opens and update with a normal speed.

I have the same problem as Windows 7 Ultimate SP1.

If a driver online is available for a USB device, it installs ok.

If the system is based on the preconfigured drivers folder it will not install.

I've removed all USB devices (including root hubs), reset and rebuilt the cache driver and nothing works.

Rebuilding my PC will take ages! There must be a faster solution!

    I found the solution!

You need to repair or rebuild Windows DriverStore. (which would make a reinstallation)

You need access to a working Windows machine to solve this problem, but your PC will fix the driverstore himself.

    To do this:

    1) go to "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository" from a working PC that is copied to a USB drive or a network share.

    (2) on your PC goto Device Manager and find the device that settles (look for the yellow triangle).

    (3) right click and select "Update Driver Software".

    (4) select "Browse my computer for driver software".

    5) navigate to the location of your good copy of the DriverStore

    (6) "Include subfolders" check and click Next

Windows will now search the driver good store and will be re - install the pre-configured drivers.

Ignore any warnings about the driver being unsigned and let your PC to install them.

Work pilots will be given on your pc, the driver cache will rebuild and your device will start working.

    Hooray!

If you move the device to another USB port it will now install automatically, as it should.
