I don't want to add a cover page.  Why is it not allow me to fax?

Hi teeterbug,

When the fax window opens, click on the button 'to'.  Type the name and fax to the recipient of the fax number.  Click Add a Contact, click the name of the person to receive the fax, and click doneSend Fax now will be hi-lighted and you can select and send the fax.  Let me know how it goes.

Good luck!

  • How can I put a document (s) on a file to be faxed?

    I have a document from a friend who wants something by fax, but the impression, it must be in a file to be faxed. Is this correct? I forgot how to put things on the record like that.

    Assuming that you have installed the XP Fax Services, (b) a fax modem to your computer work with services of XP Fax and (c) plugged your modem fax to a regular analog telephone line, then:

    If the document is on paper, you will have also to have a scanner and scan the document, after which it will be saved as a kind of file (depending on the associated with your scanner software, it can be an image as a TIF file, or it can be a file of pdf from Adobe).

    Once you have the document on your computer as a file (either registered by your software scanning or on a storage device, like a USB drive that your friend gave you)-

    • Open the document with which application is appropriate (for example, Word file.doc, Adobe reader for a *.pdf, Picture and Fax Viewer to a file file *.) TIF, etc.)
    • Select the function print the application
    • When the print dialogue box opens, click the drop-down list next to the printer name box, and select "Fax".
    • When you click Print, the Send Fax Wizard opens.
    • Enter the appropriate information and send.
  • HP Laserjet P1102w does not appear in the list print and fax OS 10.5.8

    Receive a HP Laserjet 1102w and tried to install it on Mac OS 10.5.8.  I downloaded and ran the HP drivers but when I go to add the printer in system preferences/printers and faxes in the list of available printers is empty.  I tried several routines suggested by a search on the web about the problem without result.

    Everyone out there solved this problem?

    Thank you for your attention.  I found the solution.  See below.

    The printer is connected by USB and I also tried to get the wireless connection.  I had intermittent progress on both fronts, but could not make a successful installation of USB connection or wireless connection.  The printer would "disappear" the list of available printers (using the '+' to add a printer, OS 10.6.8) or does not meet the installation commands.  And I could not connect the printer wireless to my network of 'take'

    Print the configuration page was of no use.  If the printer is unable to connect to the wireless network, it reports the IP address of the printer such as 0.0.0.0.

    TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM

    (clicking + under "Print and Fax" printer is not displayed or the name of the printer is removed)

    (1) replace the USB - the original was sensitive to cut;

    (2) give up the wireless - to - wireless set up methods - no amount of factory reset does not erase block of connection of mystery;

    (3) set up the connection through a USB cable wireless (good);

    (3) to switch the browser used to display the configuration page from the printer in Firefox (for Mac OS 10.6.8 34.0.5) for Safari

    (4) use security mode WPA (WEP not as suggested by HP help files).

    The main troublemaker was the bad USB cable.  Go to put wireless in place assume that the printer can connect to the network. As already mentioned, the WiFi was not working.  Network blue light would not come into balance.  A transmission option was blocking handshaking between the printer and my wireless router.  I tried unsuccessfully recommended factory reset methods.

    I needed a good USB connection to access the printer configuration options.

    Don't know which increased with Firefox - a plugin bad or something?  It would be not just connect them to the printer via IP addressing.  Safari worked fine.  (The printer is now successfully Setup that Firefox has decided to work too.)

    THE SOLUTION IS:

    (1) connect the printer and Mac via a cable (good);

    (1) use Safari to go to the printer setup functions (through the system preferences/print & / fax options & supplies show printer web page);

    (2) follow the recommended configuration options (HP support for Laserjet P1102w, OS 10.6, via a USB cable to connect wireless);

    (3) select the appropriate wireless in the list;

    (4) restore WPA security mode; and

    (5) to give the printer the correct wireless network password.

    Thank you and the forum, for your help.

  • Print-to-fax using JO 6500

    I am trying to send a PDF file using my JO 6500 e709a print-to-fax service.  The host computer is running Windows XP Pro-32.

    It is a document of loan, and the Bank will only accept faxes, (without attachments).  The document is 64 pages long and I don't want to invest that much paper and ink just to turn around and run it through the scanner.

    I did this with success last month.  That was the first time I had ever used the print-to-fax service of my 6500 and it was completely painless and intuitive.  I opened the document in Acrobat Reader, press 'print' and then chose the "series of HP6500 fax" printer menu drop-down.  After Acrobat had finished export, I get a popup of 6500 the asking the destination fax number, contact and other information cover sheet.  I click 'send' and offshore, he went.

    Naturally, the Bank wanted some changes in the document and needs, all re-sent.  I made the changes and try to send again.  This time after Acrobat is done export I get... nothing.  No popup, no error message, nothing in the queue for the printer.

    I checked all of the installation settings, etc, and the unit works perfectly also. It prints, scans, and faxes of the scanner without problem.

    I am at a loss what to do.  I need to get this document to the Bank as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Hello J,

    I think this might be a question of microsoft in that you could possibly use their built-in fax and connect the telephone line to your computer for the duration.  See the method in the link below

    Hi mrn8tural, this setting should remain until you change.

    Hello @pamhans, greetings!

    Welcome to the HP Forum! It is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get help and advice.

    I understand that you are having problems when printing an image in PDF format. I would like to help with that.

    First of all, I would like to know the app that you use to open / print PDF files. You use "Adobe reader" or another application?

    If you do not use the Adobe reader software, please install Adobe reader, and then try to print the pdf image.

    If you already use Adobe reader software, follow the steps below:

    1. try the option "Print as image":

    • Choose file > print and then click Advanced.
    • Select print as Image.
    • Click OK to close the Advanced Print Setup dialog box, and then click OK to print.

    2. install the last update:

    • Open Acrobat or Reader.
    • Choose Help > check for updates. If a new update is available, it installs automatically.
    • Once installed, restart your computer.
    • Print the PDF again.

    In addition, please go through the steps here: http://hp.care/2dSDxCD

    Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance

  • Office Jet 8610: Print the faxes that I missed

    How to print the actual faxes that I've not received when I was out of ink printer? I have a list of fax numbers - tried - to send faxes for me, but what I can see is the fax number, that they sent, the date and time they sent and the total number of pages. Any ideas? Thank you! StarSema

    Welcome to the HP community @StarSema,

    I read your post on how you're looking to print the faxes in memory of your Officejet 8610, and I hope I can help you. From my memory, you should be able to access the Fax Menu in the configuration Menu of the printer and look for the history of Fax and reprint the faxes in memory.

    If this does not work, or if you have any questions, let me know and I'll do my best to help.

  • HP 5610: I must throw a 5610 all-in-one printer/copier/fax. How to erase all documents that it stored?

    Memory can be removed or destroyed?

    Hey @Csc223,

    Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

    I see you are trying to have an all-in-one Officejet 5610 printer. The printer has no permanent memory and does not store the work print or fax. It is useless to try to obliterate the memory of the printer.

  • How do you install the print driver FAX for m1536dnf in OS x Lion?

    Hi Forum,

    I have a Laserjet M1536dnf all-in - one network. When I install the driver under OSX Snow Leopard and Ubuntu, I have two shows of printers in the preferences panel. Regular printer and printer-fax MACHINE, so I can print to fax directly.

    But when I install the driver in OS x Lion, it shows only one printer, so I can't print to FAX directly. I checked the apple software update, there is no more than an update as well.

    Someone knows how can I install the FAX printer driver in OS x Lion?

    Thank you

    Hello

    Offer the product at a time print, scan and ability by retrieving the driver of the Apple software update.

    If you have installed the full features software, remove it by running the uninstall HP program located under Applications > CEJA-Packard and be sure to remove the existing print queue.

    Then Champagne for any update of HP software available.

    If the recovery of the printer HP Software Update fails for any reason, install the bundle HP Printer Drivers 2.8 below.

    Then the fax printer must be detected as well:

  • print from Fax on my 8600 pro history

    Do not receive faxes on my 8600 pro can not haue what it set up right.  Received a fax known and he receifed all 13 pages, but not print them.  Looked in the history of the fax received and found that he received, but the deal was the printing of this story.

    Anyone know what I did not any so he can print a fax received?

    If the fax was never printed, he might still be in memory. Select Configuration, then Tools, then "reprint faxes in memory.
    Touch? and "Product Tour" to learn more features on this great officejet.

  • Automatic stop to print received faxes

    I have a HP Photosmart C410b all-in-one and it automatically prints faxes when they recevied. I get a lot of "Junk" faxes and I would like to disable automatic printing. Ink is expensive! How can I do this?

    mlipm,
    There is no way to disable the printing of faxes, once they are received. The only way to avoid the received faxes would be to disconnect the telephone line from the printer.
