fingerprint laptop scanner HP ENVY m6 m6-1225dx

I can't configure the fingerprint reader.  I jumped the password established when I got this HP laptop.  Now when I boot my laptop scanner blinks, but it won't let me set it upward and you request a password or a scanner.  Because I never put my password I've just close it and use my laptop.  But now I know not where/how back in the beginning in order to complete the whole upward.

There must be somewhere in this my new computer to finally put in place.  Any help would be greatly apprecitated.

I see that you are having problems using the fingerprint on your HP computer reader. I have some suggestions that can help with this question.

Here is a link to the instructions for use of the software SimplePass. It has lots of information on changing the settings within the program.

You will need to remove the software, and re-upload it to recover the installation options. If you decide to uninstall the software, you should be able to reinstall from the Recovery Manager. Let me know if you need help with that.

Here is a link to the troubleshooting steps for the reader of fingerprints as well. This could be useful now or in the future.

    Good question. It doesn't happen at all, but you should be able to find a plug similar to Singapore. Normally the HP doesn't sell product even in all countries.

    The battery of my laptop 15 hp envy ts won't hold a charge. It works fine when connected to the charger but when removed, will stop. I have ran a battery test through the HP support assistant and ran a test of components. Each indicates that the battery is ok. But every time I take it off the charger of the battery, which says its at a decent price, the laptop will die instantly. I also checked the battery number and it is not outside the recall.

    I just got my laptop new HP ENVY. Name of product: m6-k025dx. It works on 64-bit Windows 8. I feel a sudden loss and frequent my Wifi connection. When it disconnects, I don't even connect it to cursor (that slides off the right side of the screen and displays the network list) by clicking on the network down button to the right of the screen. I have to restart my laptop to connect again and after 5-7 minutes, I lose again.

    I have tried many suggestions on the amendment to the Plan of power for maximum performance and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power", but nothing seems to work.

    The network driver is Intel Centrino Wireless - N 2230. I have also updated the driver and off Bluetooth and ethernet as part of suggestions found on the web.

    I don't know if it is a problem of Windows 8 / Intel / HP. Help, please.

    From my own research, if you have an intel centrino N - 2230 network adapter and use 8 64-bit windows, you need a new driver. This adapter has connectivity wifi which are known for problems intel. Check here: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-025332.htm and then contact an HP tech via chat and they correct Web site, download and install the new driver from intel. I tried to do it myself, and it did not work. The technology did for me by online chat and remote assistance. Do it for what they tell you it's a hardware problem. It's a problem of network adapter that requires an updated driver. Let me know if it works for you.

    I run a laptop of HP ENVY 15 TS with Windows 8.1. The battery life is very poor and I tried to keep still plugged into the electric network through my HP charger. Lately, in the morning when I first wake him up from his sleep and keep it is plugged. After loggin, I get the message of HP smart adapter saying I should take into account any other charger. About 5 minutes later, the laptop turns off. I have no problem using this stand, after rebooting the computer or during the night. Please tell us what to do.     If the laptop is not connected to the AC adapter and has left overnight, it is likely that the battery can discharge, unless it is left in a "sleep" mode type.

    Hello I just got a laptop HP Envy and try to implement the fingerprint reader. I created two accounts, log in. Had no problem setting the first account but can't figure how to set up the second account of connection. The software is not in the folder of the application on the account of the second.     You don't have to mention your product name for your computer.

    I guess you may be using series 8 HP SimplePass in addition to fingerprints native Windows 8.1 connection software that is built into Windows.

    You can check the Support page for your computer to a newer version of the HP SimplePass program to ensure that you are running the latest version.  Sometimes, the version that came with the computer when it is built at the factory is not the most recent available.

    Connection options

    Despite all the security programs implement you, the following usually can be used to help configure the connection for an active account:

    Key Windows > type anywhere on the screen pc > click on PC Config >
    Accounts > Sign-in Options 

    You want to restart / reboot the computer after having set the parameters.

    Take into account the following:

    Be aware: it is strongly recommended that you run your computer with a password which you KNOW little matter how you decide to log on to your computer on a daily basis. In other words, have a password assigned to the account and know the password in case you need it.

    I've had my Hp envy m6 laptop about a year now and I cleaned it recently make run faster and fix a few other things. On the accident, I believe that I uninstalled the program, titled "Validity WBF DDK".  Immediately, I realized that my fingerprint reader is not working.  I went to the center of the HP utility and reinstalled the driver for the program, but it doesn't seem to work. I even deleted my fingerprints and their reanalysis.  This doesn't quite work.  Initially the light used to light up, but nothing appears even now.  The light does not illuminate, and when I try to log in, I get a recording that says: "year error occurred preventing the use of your information for fingerprint identification.

    It is not so important, but I'm sorry that I can't get this to work more.

    I recently bought a laptop HP Envy DV 6 with Windows 8 and then bought Norton 360.  Norton 360 would run analyses quick or full scan of the system.  I contacted Norton and they remotely access my computer and fix the problem (so far).  However, now my fingerprint reader does not work.  It's really annoying because I just spent ~ $700 on this computer and HP is not anyone I can call directly for support.

    Does anyone know how to fix this?  I don't know which drivers and the software to install.  I searched site Authentec and cannot find them.  Help!

    I recommend to download and install the HP Support assistant if you don't have it already. You can run and search all the missing drivers on your laptop.

    When we ordered this laptop, I swear that the reported specs it would come with a firewire port. But it arrived without one. We will return the laptop and get an another lappie who does not come configured with a firewire port. Should we just return this and use credit to get a different laptop or add a card to the existing ENVY?

    I use Win10 every day, but did not run in all the problems 'graying' with Web-sites, but then, I am careful not to use this excuse wobbly, paralyzed, buggy for a browser that MS forced us called on BOARD!

    If you run into this problem using the tip, then try using another browser.

    If you use a browser provided by MS, and then move on to use IE.  IF it works, do follow these instructions to make IE by default (if you want it to BE the default): solved how to reset IE as default instead of edge - Windows 10 Forums browser

    A few days ago, I opened my laptop to find that there is no sound coming from the speakers at all. I was completely baffled because the audio was working perfectly fine before, even after the upgrade to Windows 8.1. I tried several solutions posted on other forums, such as install other drivers and uninstall the IDT High Definition Audio Driver and then scan for hardware changes. Now, however, when you try to update the driver IDT, it says that a peripheral attatched to the system does not work. What should I do?

    Hello skyeisthelimit. I understand there is no sound emitted by the mobile phone. According to the description, I think that the question is focused on software. However, I won't remove the defective hardware of my mind. You have attempted a few troubleshooting, which is excellent. I'll provide some troubleshooting facilities (some steps you already completed). Please follow troubleshooting all in order, I suggest:

    First of all, there are some tutorial of Microsoft Assistant that solves the problems of sound in Windows 8.1. Please follow the wizard until it is finished.     Then, follow the troubleshooting, indicate in this document from HP: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03257712

    Assuming that the problem is not resolved, the next step is to refresh of Windows 8. This will force the computer to return to Windows 8. It will also clean the computer, to a certain extent (it is not as powerful as a recovery).     If the operating system update does not resolve the problem, reinstall the operating system is the next step. Make sure that you back up all your data beforehand.
