  You should try another recovery.

  New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure.   Given that the Fax icon is not displayed in the window of printers and devices, you need to uninstall and reinstall the software again. This should solve the problem.

  you could also try mode safe mode with command prompt and see if you get anywhere with the machine.

  If nothing, i.e. None of these boot menu options work, then you should borrow a cd from someone win xp so that you can start with it and start the recovery console.

  I do not have a netbook, but its likely your bios can support USB boot.  in this case, you need a usb cd drive in order to use the above method.

  If using the cd xp is not possible, then your only recourse is to go on the net House books site and see if there are tips that you can use.   but I guess the only option they will bring must provide the step on performing a factory restore, that will wipe the drive and reinstall the original software.
