Flash nightmares... Access denied

It all started rather simple... I visit a site of one of my customers that has a flash video that didn't work on my Safari, but works on Firefox. It was suggested that I try to reinstall the latest version of Flash Player. So I did and I got "access denied error...". You don't have enough privileges to access for this installation. Went to Adobe. He said to uninstall Flash, repair disk permissions, restart and install Flash Player. I did all that, and again, I got the same access denied error. But now when I go to any site that has Flash, I get "Safari cannot find internet plug-in -"the 'Blabla' page has content of MIME "application/x-shockwave-flash" type, but you do not have a plug-in installed for this MIME type.""

I'm now Flashless on Safari and Firefox which is not good because I design flash web sites and cannot test them.

I double checked to make sure that I allowed my account from home. I tried to reinstall at least 3 times with the same error.
I am on a MacBookPro 2Gigs and have installed CS3 Web Design. On a scale of 1 to 10 of computer knowledge, I have about 6.

Your help would be appreciated

I fixed it with a work-around that I got from a guy in the Apple Forum of Safari, who had the same problem.
He wrote:

"Open a new window of finder and find the internet plug-ins folder, you'll probably see two, one in the 'library' and the other under"Admin"If you find the two of us, try to leave the two windows open,

Trying to install Flash Player 9 and notice that there is some movement on these files, Setup will delete the older flash player to replace it with the new, but after installing the files it tells you the error message when you click ok. He deletes two files and closes the window.

That's what I did:
Before you click ok I moved the new files from the plug-ins folder on the desktop and clicked on ok, after that I copied the files in the plugins folder, and it worked fine. »

It worked for me even if I were to slip in a memory stick USB external so that it would not erase them.

Install Flash Player 9 using sudo is a bit beyond my comfort zone.

Thanks for your comments.

  • New Flash 9 won't install on Mac PPC - 1008:5,-5000 access denied error

I tried to install the new version of Flash 9 on my Mac Power PC (a G4 running OX 10.4.10). I received the following error messages:

"Error creating file: 1008:5,-5000 access denied error.
"You don't have enough privileges to access for this installation.

I tried a correction posted on the forum yesterday afternoon and the fix published here last night:

    http://KB.Adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=4aa64290 & sliceId = 1

but these failed. The solution requires multiple users with different permission levels, but my Mac is a system of a user, and I have permission throughout the system.

I think that the problem lies in the installer itself and not the systems on which users install the software.

There are two types of install on a Power PC Mac: I call install Passive and Active.

Passive installation opens a file on the desktop and asks the user to drag the program icon in the Applications folder. Once the copy is complete, the program is installed. No authorization is required - no password must be affixed - because the copy function assumes that the user has permission to make the copy.

Active setup is running an installation program or a script, which place the program and the associated files in the appropriate in the system folders. Active installs ALWAYS require the installer enter the user name and password in order to continue installing - it validates permissions and Setup can continue.

Setup on your new version of Flash 9 is an Active installation program, but he asks NO username and password before you continue with the installation. It's the FIRST time I've ever seen this behavior with a program install Active, and I think that's the problem that people have with the installation.

chmod commands in the Terminal are a 'excessive difficulty', if you will forgive the expression. Simply re - write your Setup program to require username and password as all installers Active, and I believe that the problem will be solved.

Until you do this, my Mac has more Flash of any flavor. is there a previous version that I can download to get this software on my system, until correct you the installer?

    Thank you.

I tried for days install the flash player on my mac (which I am the only user) Finally, I went in applications/utilities/disk utility

I opened the disk utility and chose my main hard drive and the tab first aid, basically, I selected "repair disk permissions". Once the process completed I restarted my computer and when I tried to install the flash player it worked like a charm

  • "Access denied" error on all hard drives external and MagicDisc

I just purchased a Lenovo B575 running Win7 Home Premium and I'm very frustrated that I can't access my external hard drives, which are essential to my work. I get the error "Access denied" the normal start, but I'm able to use disks normally in safe mode. Here are some of the things I've tried:

-Change the permissions/ownership after normal startup: does not work. Windows doesn't let me change the permissions or ownership, even if my single user account is set to administrator.

-Change the permissions and ownership in safe mode: I found a solution online saying "Everyone" to add to the list of users in the Security tab. It works * temporary *, until I unplug my hard drives. When I plug back them, it's back to square one.

-Install MagicDisc to access some files I saved in the form of ISO images: MagicDisc seems to work very well and load images normally... but also, I get the error "Access denied" when you try to open the drive in Explorer.

    -USB flash drives: same problem.

-Other erratic behavior: one of my USB drives will not stop read/write as soon as I plug. I don't know if it's the McAfee antivirus analysis each of millions of files that I have on this subject, or if something else is happening.

I had NONE of these issues on my old Acer and HP to my friend has no problem loading my readers. If I can't find a solution soon, I'll be forced to return this laptop that I need to access my work files.

I lost my patience all yesterday and not the OneKey Rescue, restore my system to nine. Then, I named my new laptop of the same name that my old (relevant at all?). He immediately provoked a hard drive to work. The 750 GB it does not work yet, but I changed the permissions AND ownership to "Everyone" in SafeMode... now it seems to work correctly. No problem with other removable disks.

That they are related or not, I have not initialized or changed some settings on the programs supplied with the laptop. My guess is that port Locker has something to do with the question I had - even if it has been disabled before. I'm uninstalling as I did not need. BioExcess, face recognition... everything goes down the drain. These should be optional, not enabled by default. Too many background services! I'm disabling a bunch of unnecessary stuff.

  • Access removable disk error... "Z:\ is not accessible. Access denied»

    1. my (2) flash drives have been available last week

    2. this week, they are inaccessible (on a single computer only)

On the second computer, I can access the drives normally.

Clearly, I changed something on the computer problem, but I don't remember what it is.  Probably a registry setting.

I can't open the drive.  I get the error 'Z:\ is not accessible.  Access denied'

Although he is running as an administrator ,attempts to format the drive are unsuccessful.  This error is: "You have not sufficient rights to perform this operation"

Attempts to access the drive through the command line are unsuccessful on the problem computer.

The drive can be seen in disk management, but may not be formatted or partitioned here (computer problem only)

On the first computer, everything is normal.  ERGO, the problem is with the second computer.

Can anyone suggest where I should look in the registry (or elsewhere for that matter).

    Thank you for your help.

  • Access denied - harder than usual

    Hello.

I have an external HARD drive, I'm trying to get at, but access is denied. Yes, I know about solutions like these:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-i-open-a-file-if-i-get-an-access-denied-message

Is not the case. If I try to change the permissions, it tells me that access is always denied. If I try to change the property, it tells me that access is always denied. In both cases, the refusal prevents me from changing these things successfully.

At first, I thought it was just the HARD drive, but then I noticed that he dislikes any player besides C, I can say.

In this case for and drive external HARD, a flash drive, optical readers, even when I try to mount an iso.

Also, I apparently failed to start my computer in SafeMode because of some jazz for BitLocker. This is my desk that I use at home. Don't think they'll give me that key.

External and flash drive two works fine on my Chromebook and on my Windows 7 laptop.

I would like to know if there is any other information, I can provide. This problem is driving me crazy and everywhere I look online, these simple solutions I linked at the top are all I can find. If anyone can fix this, I'll be very grateful. Thank you!

    (Moved from files, folders)

    Hey Joe,

Please contact Microsoft Community. I've surely you will help solve this problem.

It seems that the administrator has blocked you to change the settings. Because this is a work computer and also have BitLocker, I suggest you to check with your system administrator if you have permission to change these settings and use an external HARD drive.

Hope this information helps. Reply to the post with an up-to-date report of the issue so that we can help you further.

HI: I deeply apologize for this problem. We have identified the cause and pushed for an immediate fix.  To resolve this problem, please follow the steps described in this document: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/902/cpsid_90284.html

This is the cause: application help is based on a small XML file called Configuration Help file. This file tells the application where to find and download the latest content.  Unfortunately, this file was accidentally pushed with an intermediate address rather than the final production URL (help.adobe.com).  There is a separate file for each product of point and the help application will automatically check a new version on start up. However, to be absolutely sure/certain you have the correct set of files, please follow the instructions described in the above knowledge base document.

Yet once again, our sincere apologies for this problem. We implement the new controls/processes to ensure that this does not happen.

mysqlshow requires a user name and password:

    mysqlshow-u root Pei

Enter your MySQL root password when prompted. ODBC@localhost means that
you did not provide a user name.

    > Dreamweaver refuses to recognize the link too. * sigh * any ideas?

If you use MySQL 4.1 or higher, you must also enable MySQLI in
PHP. Even if Dreamweaver use MySQLI itself, the password
the authentication in MySQL 4.1 and higher is not supported by the original
    PHP MySQL Extensions.

You are using a bookmark, or you start with the homepage (home) on this Web site?

If you use a bookmark to open a specific page on the server and then try to navigate to this page from the home page or the page of connection Web site where this bookmark is currently suspended.

Best is to avoid the bookmarking a specific page which has been achieved by sending POST data in a (hidden) form or bookmarking a page that contains the GET data added to the URL (? xxx = xxx) or links to a specific area in the case where load balancing is used because they can easily get broken if changes are made to the server.

  • TB update fails and I get an error of access denied to 7 - Zip when you download a new version.

When I let the updater download a full version, which also fails. When I try to download a new version manually, during the extraction process, I get an error message indicating "7-Zip" up and "Access denied" in the window. I followed all the suggestions to the support download error page (as an administrator, stop the process of Thunderbird, etc.), and none of them solved the problem. Any other ideas?

What firewall / anti-virus software you are using. My guess is that the firewall or the anti virus software blocks both the update and full installation because it contains ZIP files. I have not heard that outside the paranoid company / parameters of business in the past, but there's always a first time.
