Foglight dashboard access to colleagues

It's on dashboard foglight sharing with colleagues.

I myself remember during training Foglight tutor provided a way to change the below url so that everyone can access and No need to connect to the foglight requests access to the dashboard.

http://> / console/NOC/user:.4

Could someone please advise how this is possible?

I think that what you are looking for is access NoLoginUser.

It has this nice video describing the process

Hope this helps

  • Groovy foglight api access code, must study info db-tables foglight

    Hello

I need to build the report that gives details of alarms as recognized time, gravity, host, crΘation, rule that generated this alert, message etc, I know we can use directly readymaid alarm dashboard or we can build the custom dashboard, but we are facing problems of latency using the custom dashboard or dashboard system provided so we want to query the database tables Foglight directly and find additional information. I do not have access database oracle required from now, so I would like to know the names of tables and schema name associated with the alarms.

I know we can get alarm associate script editor information and explore a bad api so I wrote code groovy with the help of the api to access the AgentService or AlarmService, but I don't know how to access the SchemaView methods, TableView or table interfaces that provides required methods that can provide db information.  SchemaView or TableView or Table are not part of the services listed, so I don't know how to use the methods listed under this interfaces.

For example if I want to know the name of the schema where the name of the table is: alarm_alarm OR if I want to know all available under particular schema tables and then how to get the use of groovy and foglight Explorer api.

Can someone show example how to make use of available methods from interfaces (SchemaView, TableView or table) of theses.  (Joint screenshot of this 3 interfaces that I want to explore and use the methods of the it)

    Thank you

    Derrick

    Additional accessories:

Regarding your condition to "build report which provides information of alarms as created in time, acknowledged the seriousness, host, time, rule that generated this alert, messages etc.", there is an example of using the RuleService API and AlarmService to generate a similar report in Foglight Reporting using metric queries or Groovy. See the example "Generate a list of all current alarms with details" for more details.

  • Create dashboard custom Transactions of RDFS with error?

We have implemented a FTR for application and we currently see transactions and their end-user response time in the Explorer in Foglight.

In results view (accessible via the view explore end-user, under Agent Intelligent-> Service) - screenshot to join - we see the response time of the transactions and the transaction which has encountered an error.

However, looking at the view explore end-user for this robot, we can only see the response under the summary operation time. It includes no info if the transaction has encountered an error.

What the customer wants, is to have a custom Foglight dashboard and view transactions that meet errors and set alarms for them. They will not return to the view of the results as well that to view results only has not any installation of alarms for her.

Is there a was to create a personalized dashboard that displays the error for some operations the robot, as well as whenever they encounter a problem installing alarms?

    Thank you

    Mike,

What happens behind the views are two different applications, dashboards, foglight for Solution Explorer data, then the intelligent agent dashboards where you see the low-level operations. When you display data in the intelligent agent, you access a browser located on the FTR player that pulls data from RDF files results in the player directories. Some of the outcomes data is pushed to the foglight Management Server for reporting.

There are alarms that get fired when a player fails to run a script. You do not see these alarms?

  • Where can I find the analysis created by the new dashboard interest?

This seems like it should be obvious, but I simply don't think this.

The page says add-on the add-on includes a new homepage, so I tried to reset the home page in the preferences. He takes me to the home page of Firefox, but it does not seem a «dashboard access interest» button

I checked the different places where I can access the history - no dice.

I looked at the descriptions of the add-on in several places (on the Mozilla forums) and on third party sites - still nothing to tell me where to find something that looks even vaguely data presented in the photos of what the add-on.

I tried to find a button that I could add to the customizable menu; nothing.

I tried to open a new tab and check the options there. Nothing.

Nevermind, I found it. I have no idea why I couldn't see the button in the toolbar. Maybe it is gray and looks enough like other plugins that I have I jumped just seeing her.

  • create and edit dashboard views

    Hello

We believe strongly in the deployment of a foglight dashboard for our customers, we got an evaluation copy and I'm looking to determine the product at present.

for the moment, I am doing a copy of a view and make the Visual changes to this copy. To make sure that I'm not changing the original, I did a "copy", but from what I see, there is not much difference between a normal copy and a copy in depth. all widgets are always under another module. I expect the deep copy to pull all the external references and take her on my new module.

so I would be able to remove and change the design-time view widget. but everything seems to be read-only.

    any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

A complete copy in Foglight copies under the dashboard components in the module selected instead of simply keeping a reference (regular copy).

I could not help but notice that you said you just receive an evaluation copy and exploring the product, out of box dashboards are something that have plenty of dev work and framework agreement invested in and change them a bit are an advanced topic.

I recommend for new users of the Foglight who have not yet had training or sessions with PSO generally go for the drag and drop feature that offers a large number and a great entry point to Foglight dashboards.

  • Y at - it a script or utility that can be used to merge the data agent FxM in Foglight? (RS 2176806)

    Hi all

    -Environment:

Y at - it a utility or a script available which can merge data from an agent of FxM?

My client is interested in the subject of topology FxMApplicationResult in particular.

  • Slow Foglight Console

    Hello

The Foglight Management Server Console (5.6.4) is horribly slow and we checked in the journals of resolution. We found that he was using a very high memory and we ran the Script (for high Mem in the Script Console), but it did not work. The console still isn't slow.

Is there a temporary fix for this problem?

    Kind regards

    Guenoun.

    Hello

I highly recommend this opening with support as soon as POSSIBLE, there are many things that can be done to investigate and twist Foglight.

Your environment is not huge and on a server with so many hearts (16 if I read) Foglight should have very good performance.

In some cases allocate less memory (8 GB) to Foglight works even better memory overuse causes like GC.

A typical investiation with support will include generating support bundle where we can check the performance of the server and the DB connectivity and that the server settings and DB connectivity can be twisted. Since Foglight dashboards get information from the database, the performance of the DB are therefore very important.

There are some improvements in ease of use that can be made, as the default time of 1 hour so Foglight should get less data from the database, ensuring that the first dashboard is not one that gets a ton of data in the initial newspaper is so fast as well as using the services to make sure that when you look at Java/DB/VM you try not to get the data for all if you only want to see a subset of the environment.

Another advantage to contact our assistance is their knowledge in plots of performance, there may be some specific dashboards that have performance issues that have been resolved and support will in this regard.

  • Machine virtual IOPS / s report, how to display the name of the data store?

    Hi guys

I am new to the Foglight community, this is a great tool, and I learn a lot.

Currently I am trying to create a simple table that will show me metric of my VMware environment: Virtual Machine name, Datastore IOPS and data store.

However I can't find how to include data store name in the table, because it is not a measure of the Virtual Machine. I think I need to expand the scope of my table to include VMware Datastore, but I don't know how to do this.

    -Mark

Check the options available it seems that it can be done with WCF (the frame behind the Foglight dashboards).  We recommend generally customers who plan to build views WCF take adequate training or our PSO people engaged in it.

In any case I can help show a quick example of how it's done.

Please try this on a local/test server.

Go to Configuration > definition >

Make sure that you are in my definition, and click the icon to add a view. then choose from the tables and trees - oriented line table

Give a name to the view, go public and make a portlet/reportlet and apply

Switch to the configuration tab and click the change for the lines and choose a query

Under query, expand the VMware and scroll down

Until you can select the query for virtual machines

    And press the set button.

Your view should look like this

Now you must select the columns.

Each column has a value you can edit and there is a button + to add additional columns.

Lets start with the name of the virtual machine - click on the button to change to your default column and choose the context.

Click on the drop down menu to enter key and choose the current line (virtual vmware machine)

Click on the drop down menu to access path and scroll down until you can select the name and then click on set.

You have created a table that lists the names of all virtual machines.

You can click on save. and then click test, choose a time and click the result. A new window will open a show the list you of virtual machines.
From here you can continue to add additional columns, each time choosing the key entry in the current line and the path to the metric/string to display.

For example, the name of the data store.
    I change the module

Click the configuration tab and click the icon to add a column

For the column value, that I chose defined context once again, the key input is the current row and for the path, I expand the node for the data store

And scroll until I see the Proprietename

If you save and test you will see the result

Keep adding columns and the data you want, notice that you have arrows that allow you to control the order of the columns.

Note that you can click Show advanced configuration properties

This will give you the opportunity to see the properties of the extra table, such as header - giving you the opportunity to give a more meaningful name (name of the data store, the name of the virtual machine, etc.) to the column header.

You can now go you drag and drop the table edge/report and under my eyes, you will see your new view

Drop it in the main view

I hope this has given you the starting point to build this table.

As I said, I strongly recommend going through our WCF training if you plan build more custom views or hire software Dell PSO Organisation to help build you views that correspond to your need.

    Best regards

  • Troubleshooting for websphere inactive agents

    Hi all

I was sent followed on my systems WAS (I'm not an administrator WAS, and I understood some basic concepts before I deployed it). One of my agent is in idle state. I need to troubleshoot why its in idle state. I checked the startServer.sh of setupCmfline.sh and Cmdline.sh, the global profile, the startNode.sh, the startManager.sh and verified that everything is OK. Then, I checked the startserver newspaper and unfortunately it didn't there nothing that refers to Foglight_Agent_Manager or JavaEE.

So I need help with the troubleshooting steps I need to follow here. Help, please.

    Kind regards

    Roshan

    Thanks for the screenshot.

Java agents work a bit differently in the rest of the agents, you can stop/start data collection but you can't turn them becuse they are not started by the Agent Manager.

Java agents are launched at the start of the JAVA virtual machine, we have parameters added to a Java Server start script and when a JVM starts the beginning of the agent, when a JVM stops at the stop of the agent.

If these settings are made on the server to run the script and starts the JVM without our parameters we get an indicator showing that the agent is stopped even if the JVM is started because the JVM is started in the past with us (if it is registered with Foglight) but the agent is not running.

In your case, it seems that websphere Deployment Manager and server are started (which is awesome, it means that we get data) but Caroline is not started or did not begin with our parameters, it is possible, it is upward, but simply not running with our parameters (maybe they were out).

The good news is that the Caroline should reports no information of the JVM to foglight, dashboard status agent is the only one, it appears, it should not any sort of data report to us because it's just a mechanism to stop/start the servers.

The bad news is that, in many cases we instrument the agent node as a mechanism to add our settings on the server, so when the servers are stopped and then started, they are started with our parameters. BUT it is also possible to stop servers start with scripts who have our parameters or add parameters directly in the console of Websphere.

If the node agent is the only thing that is not of Foglight and servers always stop/start and connect to the Foglight information and report, it's the most important thing.

You can look in the node agent startup script and see if our parameters were out, you can check if the node agent is active (it can have all stopped) but a point in Foglight you are ok because the node agent does not appear in the dashboard application server monitor
