For image in underlined text clipping mask

WellnessWorkplace.jpg

Mac G5 Mac OSX CS4 - I'm creating a Visual for a website and I have an image I want to insert in the specified words "wellnessworkplace", but the image does not appear when the clipping mask is applied. I realize that it must be the result of multiple paths of the text but I remember that I used to be able to do this in CS2. For the moment, I made a form of Pathfinder composed the word on a gray rectangle lite and the image is located below to get the effect, but this has drawbacks and I prefer to use a clipping mask.

I am under CS3 and never really noticed this before, maybe CS4 is the same. The only way I could get the clipping mask to work is to select the underlined text, go to object > compound path > make. Select the entire document, and then create the clipping mask (make sure that the text is on top).

  • Text CS4 - multiple blocks of text clipping mask

Can someone explain why the clipping mask only works with a single word / text block? I have a poster with the text - 5 blocks of text I want to place a photo on top - but every time I do a clipping mask > it just makes all empty? (I've grouped text blocks, then place on the image, then make a clipping mask-.. .so all empties)

I tried only using one of the block of text on the image - it works fine. But I don't want to import 5 photos for clip 5 blocks of text?

    Any idea?

    Thank you kindly,

    Chemol

Kurt is listening alone. (Typical). Make a shape composed of your LIVING text blocks (select all, option-click on the pathfinder unit). Now, select the compound shape and your image behind him and press command-7

Idea of RC to use the image as a pattern fill also works perfectly. Here, you first need to embed the image in your document BEFORE the Panel color chart will accept it as a model.

  • image sizes for the photo and moodboards clipping masks

    Hello

I place images/photos to the web and Pinterest on my plans to work in Illustrator for both mood/inspiration cards as well to use with clipping masks.

Should I adjust the size of the image files in photoshop before placing them so that my illustrator file does not become too large?

Or can I use object > rasterize > and choose the resolution/ppi to do the same thing?

    Thank you

Of course, you must define your own strategies for these questions according to your needs. Sure raster image data, excess will swell your files unnecessarily, but according to the availability of extra storage space in your computing environment and your ultimate output intent, may not be worth the extra time and effort for the goal-size things in Photoshop before placement. Only you can decide that priority. If the images are 'of the web and Pinterest', chances are, they are already low-resolution, and you would not shave number of bytes out of them anyway.

Or can I use object > rasterize > and choose the resolution/ppi to do the same thing?

N ° which is designed for elements vector rasterize at your chosen resolution. It will not change the resolution to something that is already rasterized.

  • Problems placing the image in underlined text

    Hi all

I am trying to place an image in a text described in ID CC, but it will only put in one line, instead of the whole lot. for example. my text reads as follows:

    STUDENT
    PRICE

    2014

but I can't just put the image in one line at a time, for example. "STUDENT".

I also tried to copy the picture and paste it in, but once it only let me do this for a single line of text.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

    Thank you very much!

Select all of your highlighted text and choose object > tracks > make a compound path...

Now try to place the image.

  • Can't do a simple text clipping mask

I've done this before, although all of a sudden it doesn't work.

    -J' I type some text

-I do the outlines of the text

-J' I drag an image in here

-J' I send the image to the back

-J' I select both and choose object > clipping to mask

-There is no indication in the text and the image disappears

What I am doing wrong? I tried this on two Macs, and these are the same steps that have worked for me.

    Thank you.

    southwestform,

What would you say to skip the second step of your OP (original post), namely the describing, rather than adding the step a compound path, just using the original direct type as the clipping?

  • Seamless pattern - using the images inlaid with clipping masks

    Hi forum,

We struggle a little create a seemless repeating the pattern that includes the images integrated with cutting applied masks.

Our model is a 550x550mm black square with various embedded inserted on top. All these images have the applied clipping mask to hide unwanted areas.

These images are placed so that they create a pattern repeated seamless and that includes areas that overlap instead.

Once we create a nuance of this model the repeatable area becomes too large because it contains unwanted areas hidden by the clipping masks.

Because the reproducible area is now too large, it is actually not repetitive.

We tried various things in order to solve this problem. Pathfinder/harvest to remove unwanted areas from images etc.

None of them worked pretty well.

We of livetracing just the images, but the complexity is not an option.

Really we do our 'cut' in Photoshop or you know tricks of fantasy for problems of this kind?

    Appreaciate your insight

    Kenneth

    Kenneth,

Try the destructive Act, with the selected clipping mask:

    (1) in the transparency palette/Panel drop-down list choose anything but Normal (Multiply is fine),

    (2) object > flatten transparency, just keep the defaults including 100% vector,.

    (3) thrill.

This should reduce the size of the Clipping Path bounding box.

  • The passage of the part of an image that shows through a clipping mask?

In CS5, after having has been using text clipping mask to mask an image, is there a way to move the image to a new location, so a different part of the image shows the text?

    Thank you.

    Web.Boards,

You can select the image with the direct Selection tool, or through the palette layers/panel and move it (with the arrow keys, ClickDragging, with object > Tramsform > Move, or something else). or just ClickDrag it from the beginning.

  • Why the clipping masks are made for a Place/Embed?

    Illustrator CS6 (all updates)

I have a simple and clean logo with a couple of transparent traces (letters like the 'e', 'A').  There is no clipping paths.  Everything works very well in this file, if I save it, re - open and edit, etc..

If I have 'Place' or drag this file in a brand new, delete the file and then 'Embed' work, it creates 2 the size of the artboard clipping masks.  More importantly, it messes up the transparent traces so that I have to select them and use the shape mode "Unite" so that it can work properly.  I see this when trying to add a line to the letters... the race is broken until I use the button on the unit.  Even undo the compound path and redo it does not work.  In the image as an attachment, you can see how a place is broken, as well as the way in which 'inside' or 'outside' is available for embedded version.

    What gives?

    Thank you

    Eric

When you drag a. HAVE file and drop it onto an open. File to HAVE in Illustrator, which is equivalent to the file > Place, he became a partner. You cannot change the contents of the files linked directly because they are supposed to be changed out and update when changed. Thus, Illustrator uses the means to isolate the linked file to edit its content and provide a means for the linking functionality. These resources are provided by 'create a file PDF Compatible file' option when you save the. File to HAVE it. If you save a. File without this option and try to use it as a link, you will get this weird text instead. With this option checked, you will be able to use the file as a link in another. File to HAVE it.  Also keep in mind that if you embed a linked file it will equal not copying a file open. Coating can change the objects of no basic appearance. For example if the linked file has envelope distort, points will result in the expansion of the envelope that will produce a clipping mask group.

  • Text fill or use a clipping mask, then using the knife tool

Hey, new to the forum here, and I have a problem...

I'm scanning my notes for a course in Earth science, and I use Illustrator CS5.

I'm trying to do a simple text effect that leaves me perplexed.

The text says "Earthquakes" (indeed, 24pt.)

I like the texture of the text with a picture of sandstone.  I can do this.

I would like in conjunction with the text in two with the knife tool.  I can do that, too.

I can't for the life of me, what to cut the text in two after applying the clipping mask.

No can I apply the texture (via a clipping mask) after having cut the text in two.

I tried all kinds of different combinations, including doing some work in Photoshop, and still nothing works.

I tried to create a plan (apparently essential to use the knife on the text tool), cut the text in two and then make the clipping mask, but that only gives me letters, invisible, which I can't seem to fill with the appropriate image.

Anyone out there have any ideas?

In the case where it is not clear, I want my text to be filled by a picture, then I would cut half in text (I prefer to use the knife tool, as it looks better with a curved cut)

It's as simple as that, but I could not fall on a solution on my own.

On a side note, I also spent on some tutorials for 'cutting text' is to draw a line through it, and then using fracture in the Pathfinder palette, but this guard send me errors.  Thoughts?

First of all, there is no need to use a clipping for texture mask. Drag the photo in the "Swatches" Panel and then use the texture sample resulting to fill the text! Then, drag the text object texture in the symbols Panel. Now you can drag the 2 instances of the new symbol on the artboard and hide to create the look you are after. Using this method, your text remains editable and can be changed by editing the symbol.

  • Help! Not available for actions in PSE13 clipping mask

I have PSE13 and tried to run an action on it, and an error emerged saying "unavailable clipping mask" and the action will not work correctly. Does anyone know how can I fix? Initially, I thought it was because I have an enough space on my C: / drive so I did a LOT of space and still does not. I can't find any settings that I can pass by to available clipping mask or something like that as the tutorial for Photoshop shows.

    * SIGH *... I thought about it... I simply must have a flattened image before trying to perform an action. Well, I'll leave this here in case anyone runs into this problem.

    Good editing everyone!

  • Apply a clipping mask for an item that's envelope distort?

I'm creating a logo for a uni project.

I created my logo in black and white, is simply a word that I have envelope deformed in a circle.

I now want to apply a clipping mask to give it a gold leaf effect, it works when I do normal typed text but not in my text that had been published.

Can someone tell me if it is possible to create a clipping with gold leaf mask, when I distorted the text already?

When I apply the envelope distort after the clipping mask, it does not give me the same results...

    k,

You can object > envelope distort > Expand, then use it as the clipping to the clipping mask.

  • How can I copy some clipping masks including the relative positions of multiple images?

I have a number of images of microscope on the same subject that were made under three different conditions. I would like to use clipping masks to crop the images in the same way (the same size, but also the same position relative to the corners/sides of the images. Where it was inconsistent, I made an image to try to explain what I want to achieve (the same portion of each image for each game):

    mask.png

Thank you, Jacob. I don't know that is easier or more efficient, but I ended up inserting all of the images on top of each other, and copy and paste in place (Ctrl + Shift + V) my rectangle. Then I chose a rectangle and an image and apply the mask (Ctrl + 7) and then sent it to the back with (Ctrl + Shift + []) before repeating.

  • Ive been trying for hours now, but illustrator wont allow me to create a clipping mask

I created the spirit logo attached the pen tool. I then cut the Central Wick using the form generator tool.

I imported it into a new document with an object/image that I want to hang it. I select the two go to object > clipping to mask.

The two objects is suddenly off and I do not see the fill / no STROKE of the icons. If this does not happen then There nature and all just say "cannot make a clipping mask.

This has been bothering me for a few days now.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Herms-ra.

You can do so quite different or similar with masks of Cliping, without or with background color purple/note/smoke.

Note: There was an error in the first proposal in post #18: in step 5) you must select C) (purple/note/smoke color background to cut of the) instead of d) (the underlying texture of parties drops black), sorry, I just spotted it.

You can (reusing a part of the first proposal):

    (1) return to, or start from scratch, with the following basic elements (starting with this stacking order):

    (A) the compound path, forming the dripping inner circle party black (in A).

    (B) the compound path, forming the external parties dripping with black,

    (C) the color purple/note/smoke to cut background

    (D) the underlying texture parts of gout black,.

    (E) the underlying texture of letter parts internal;

    Select 2) A) and B) and copy both to the top of the stacking order, then release both Compound paths and remove the inner path from A) and the external path of B), then turn them into a new compound path, consisting of forms of internal letters (you can use Pathfinder > less first plan or object > compound path > make);

    (((3) E move) (the underlying texture of parts internal letter) up just below the new path composed of 2), select both and opposition > clipping mask > make, and then to hide;

    (Select 4 (A) (composite route forming the dripping inner circle in black (A)) and b the compound path forming the outer circle dripping parts black) and object > compound path > make;

((5) select the combination of 4) and D) (the underlying texture of parties drops black) and object > clipping mask > make.

    (Show 6) 3).

    (C) the note/violet/smoky colored backgroun, if keep you it, or any other background will be visible everywhere where it is not covered.

  • CS6 actions > batch saving of images in a clipping mask problem

    Hey all,.

Been at this for a certain brand in now and searched the www thin suggestion - so really hope someone can help me here.

    Objective:

-Target a folder with .gif xxx patterns (in the same size)
-Configuration of batch stocks open each image in the folder, copy the image of the model individually more to one. PSD file which have a silhouette of the handle.
-Apply the model on the clipping mask
    -Outside save as .png

    Question:
So far, Ive had only automate > batch to save to a .png with the pattern correctly applied to the silhouette.

I have experince, it's so close, I have everything down and start automate > batch then Photoshop will complain of not being able to locate the clipping mask.
In my configuration of action I everything first open my .psd containing my form of sleeve, then open a real model image and then all the other steps ending with saving the .psd with a model in .png clipping mask.

Just to give an idea on my setup take a look here:

    http://i.imgur.com/FE8mSEU.PNG

In this case below, I've closed everything and run Automation > lots, which gives me the error that you can see here:
    http://i.imgur.com/7Cvj26D.PNG

Any suggestions on what I could hurt OR if I do something wrong?

Screenshot shows an Action that works for me in a batch.
