For Vista SP1 installation manual where?
Where can I manually download and install Windows Vista Service Pack 1? Windows Update will not be asked to settle and when I check the MS Windows site, it always says that "do not mount this to a single computer, for this use, the update of Windows" and as I said it will not offer upgrading from Windows Me. I searched this forum and on the net but could not find an answer to this question directly.

system essential updates for vista SP1
Hello everyone, I recently bought a HP Compaq CQ60-305AU with Vista Home Premium SP1 and according to HP system, ESUpdate for vista SP1 pre installed version 1.0.0 . Since then, I've installed all the updates including SP2 Windows. My question is with the software & driver HP web page
http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?OS=2093&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=nz&lang=en&product=3938340 there are a number of (System essential updates for vista SP1) available, do I have to install these updates or only the last has a current 6.00 version or do I need to install one of them, now that I have installed SP2? Any help would be appreciated.
If all your hardware is working properly, I wouldn't worry on this subject. Critical updates for SP1 should be included in SP2. In addition, normally SP2 will not install if you need updates, which must be made beforehand.

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947366Your first post was unclear: I thought you were trying to install SP1 manually (after downloading the Setup program), not via Windows Update.
When you reinstalled Windows, the free trial of Norton would have also been reinstalled (but not valid, of course). Do you have (1) uninstall the Norton free trial once again and then (2) download/run the Norton Removal Tool before you (3) reinstalled NOD32? [Yes/No]
Remember: you can always open a free support incident. See my previous response.

Windows Vista SP1 installs, not anything else
None of the suggestions work threads. I reinstalled same full operating system from the original cd. I had already replaced the hard drive as the old man a bad wwnt. Just curious, if maybe the old hd had a license or something attaching it to the product key and maybe that's what's causing problems? It seems to me like a lot of people have had this problem where the service pack says it installed, but is not displayed, and continues to appear in Windows update. What a shame. Doubtful that we'll never know what caused this to happen and why there is no patch from Microsoft to simply fix.
Hello
You can change the hard disk; It's activation with a new motherboard that you have problems with if you change this.
Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.
It will also tell you which SP you have installed.
Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, installation of SP1 first if it is not already installed.

Update for Explorer 8 for Vista (KB978207) installation default (80246005)
The installation of updates 2 & 3 for Explorer 8 for Vista (KB978207) (error code 80246005) failed. The following procedure involving Catroot2 does not solve the problem. What now?
Using Vista, Vista SP1 or SP2 for Vista?
What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription? What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications? What third-party firewall (if applicable)? Any of these applications that run in the background when you installed IE8 (not the update)?
A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

I've had Vista for a few years and had installed SP2. After a pretty bad fall, I had to "restore to the factory settings." This has left the machine as it had been when he came out of the box.
I checked for Service packs, after he tried to update to IE7 for IE9 to say that I couldn't because I didn't have to update MS. I checked the system and found or SP1 or 2 is installed. So I checked updates, where it was SP1 is available. I clicked on "install" and followed the couple to guests where to he started to update. He completed the process and that you follow point that SP1 has been installed, however...When I check the system again, there is no sign on SP1 installed on the machine, and when I go to check updates, SP1 is also available, like as if it was never installed. Ive gone round in circles for a few days. Whenever it appears to install, but whenever he of not here and keep appearing as ready to be downloadedHelp, please!Hello

Argh! For Vista SP1 driver conflicts
I posted this in response to another thread, but did not get a response, so I thought I would start a new threat about this...
Like many people, I have not been able to get Vista SP1 will appear on Windows Update. I know that I can just install the stand-alone version, but there has been a lot of problems that are associated, and I just assumed that if he appeared on WU that I could avoid the driver conflicts. Well, I feel like a fool to have to ask this question, but I can't understand how to install the NVIDIA 140 M update driver from Lenovo that supports SP1.
I've already updated the fingerprint reader driver, so I guess it's the NVIDIA driver that prevents the display on WU SP1. However, the instructions to install the driver say extract the files and run setup.exe... duh, no head... but when I download the driver I do not get a zip file, I get 7kd543ww.exe and 7kd543.exe.part on my desktop and when I click the .exe I get an error saying it is not a valid Win32 application. I feel extremely basic request this, but what the hell I am doing wrong?
T61 running with 32-bit Vista Home Premium
Thank you! and sorry if the questions about SP1 have been exhausted.
meh3884 wrote:

Please, I beg you! Don't threaten us . Haha, kidding aside. First of all, you have a .exe and a .exepart when you download the file so if for some reason any interruption occurs, your browser can read the partexe and say "hey!" I've done it before"and pick up where it left off. So I think leave download before being realized and tried to open it.
And this isn't the driver nvidia stop SP1 to appear, this is a weird bug that still continues to be. What you have to do is open Windows Update, go to microsoft and START downloading the standalone version, while its download that SP1 will appear in windows update. Cancel the stand-alone download and start it in winupdate.

Satellite x 200 SLi: I lost sound after Vista SP1 installation
Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite x 200 SLiAfter I installed the SP1 of Vista, I just lost sound and even update the audio drivers... I still have several problems such as: sometimes the sound stops, errors, try to display movies... etc...
Vista tells me that I have Norman for update my drivers but I already have the last avaiable driver on TOSHIBA page.
Anyone with the same problem?
No idea how to solve this problem?Thank you
The problem is that Microsoft's Vista SP1 makes trouble. The problem is that not all drivers are compatible and fully supported by SP1.
I think you have a Realtek audio chip. Perhaps have you check the site Web of Realtek s the latest HD audio driver
If this doesn't help, then you will have to wait until the new update is available (or you will remove him SP1)

Vista SP1 Installation 936330 question
Hello
I bought a HP Desktop used with Vista Business on it. Vista SP1 (KB936330) shows (two) installed and cancelled in 'history of the Windows Update. The last time I tried to install SP1 a message stating that "this will take a few hours and your PC may restart several times" appears. As soon as I started the Setup he quit smoking.
I tried to solve the problem using the method described in the article, "Windows Vista SP1 (KB936330) issue", but it did not work.
At this point I don't know if Vista SP1 has been installed or not - because he says that both cancelled and installed - as mentioned.
Another point that may touch, is the PC has only either 7 on it. I tried to update IE 9, but whenever an error message appears and I can't download it.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Terry
