Foreign DVD

I have an Irish DVD I bought from Amazon.comUK and I played once before.  To do this, I had to change to region (1)? the region (2)?  I did without any problems the first time I've watched, and then when I wanted to watch DVDs US I just changed regions.  I have had no problem watching the Irish again today, but when I went to switch back to the region of the United States, I got a warning that if I went from regions that I won't be able to move from areas never.  I said okay, and then I tested the validity of the warning.  It's true!  I can't spend the regions more.  Please why tellme.  I am very frustrated and don't know what to do.  Thank you.

Its for reasons of piracy.

original title: change region on windows media player

How can I change the region of your windows media player successfully?

I try to change it and it comes up saying "unable to update region setting. Please insert appropriate media and try again.
    Help!

    Hello
Look at the packaging of your DVD. DVD region is noted on the back of the housing. It comes to the region, for that you need to change your DVD drive. To do that follow these steps:
    a. click 'Start', followed by 'Computer' or 'My computer', then right click on the DVD icon and select "Properties".
    b. choose 'Material' and select "DVD région" tab click on the region that you want to change your computer DVD drive to, then select 'OK '.
    c. Insert the DVD in your DVD drive and open Windows Media Player. The computer can now play your foreign DVD movie.

Your DVD player can change regions only five times. The fifth change becomes your permanent DVD region.

    Hope this helps!

  • Importation of foreign language in DVD studio pro subtitles

IM importing stl in DVD studio pro. The problem is that the Icelandic characters converted to giberish.

SEM þid getid gert sem mun avallt

    in:

SEM √aei√∞ geti√∞ gert sem mun (vallt) √

Since timecode was OK I tried just copy - paste the right pair. But it takes more than 3 hours and a constant dialogue, so I gave up on that. Is there another way?

It seems that your Icelandic encoded utf-8 is displayed as if it was coded in the old MacRoman character set.

  • Shares in foreign CODECs?

A few times that I shot the film that I wanted to share a DVD with a person, knowing that they would be trying to view the DVD in another country.  More recently, I shot a recital for a family that hosted a foreign exchange student.  Everyone was musical while they did a recital with two American participants and a German participant.  I made three copies the recital, but I'm doubtful that the person will be able to view the DVD when he returned to Germany.  Am I worrying unnecessarily?  Is there a way to get around this?

Unless they are really, really old DVD players and TVs, American DVD will play for them without problem.

  • Satellite L755 - DVD player just stopped working

This morning used the cd player to listen to music while I worked. I changed the cd, and another would not play. After checking a few CDs, I decided that the drive will not read anything.

The details are that I close the tray of the drive, the cd spins but only a little. Then he stops and try again. After about 5 unsuccessful attempts, it stops completely. The goal seems clean, and the lens is always about 2/3 of the way toward the outer edge of the cd that I wasn't expecting (haven't start in the middle?). Something also makes a noise of rattling, not normal either. No evidence of foreign bodies in the drive, so the trigger which could be a failure of the engine.

My amateur guess is he's dead, but it would be good if I could relive. There are outages I can do?
If this isn't the case, I'll have to buy an external hard drive that I'm guessing that a replacement toshiba will be expensive.

Try Please clean the lens and try it with this CD which worked again. Test also with original DVD movies.

Any help would be greatly received!...

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums.

The option of subtitles can be sellected under display of BD/DVD settings. The language of the subtitles is available when multilingual subtitles are recorded on BDROMs/DVD videos.

  • Drive DVD & registry.

I have a 4700 (Windows XP) with original NEC drive installed. A few weeks back a 'foreign body' was introduced in the player with a disc; you use the player caused a lot of terrible sounds of in. After removing the 'f.o.', the drive appeared to work for a short time, but finally the device manager reported that he has not been able to start up the device because its configuration in the registry is incomplete or damaged (Code19), and the drive does not appear on my computer. I bought a new drive (Optiarc AD-5200 has) but it produces the same message in the Device Manager and now I don't have a DVD player.

I tried the system restore to go back to a State prior to the incident (he would correct the registry?) but despite the date's characters bold, the message is that he cannot restore to this date. I would appreciate any help with this problem.

  • I have a question about the export of a small movie to burn it to a DVD.

OK, it's me again.  You have been so much help last night, I'm back for another piece of advice.  I made a movie of 23 minutes in Premiere Pro CS3 using 200 still images and music.  I realize that this program is much more that I need, but it's on my computer and I photo, I have the DVD and I have Movie - who are the major programmes for the small fast thing, that I do, but you can only choose 1 Transition between each still in all three of these programs, and it becomes very unpleasant.

Therefore, I used the Premiere Pro CS3, but now I want to export twice - once for a website and once to burn it to a DVD to watch on a standard TV. Can someone walk me through there - way, way to many choices and I tried to read the 11 pages of the user manual - it may as well been in a foreign language.

    Thank you all.

    Michele

    Michele,.

To go of CS3 (and CS2 Production Studio), it was included in the first installation discs. It's a DVD/BD big application creation. Now, you could not install, but you certainly get it. EncoreDVD 2.0, was also available as a standalone program, but from CS3, this is no longer the case.

    Good luck

I have an Inspiron 6400 laptop and a defective DVD player! Can anyone suggest where I can find details to replace my old dvd drive wid a new? Is it safe to do it myself?

I HAV a Sony 8 x DVD RW +/-Q58A model now and I want to know what other options for car replacements I have among other brands (NEC, Phillips, etc.). The Sales Division Dell says they have a ""ASSY, DVD +/-RW 8 X, IDE, TSST, WHISTLED " on sale of spare parts." When they asked for the model number, they said that it is YT816, which is be a dell reference number. So I was wondering if I should buy them or consider buying a player different manufacuturer in the foreign market?

  • My inner smartdrive dvd player won't read DVDs more.  I have updated to Snow Leopard in Yosemite.

I am currently using OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.  I bought in 2009 iMac with Snow Leopard and have to Lion then updated my current operating system.  The internal dvd player has worked with much fussing, (insert the disc - closing - turn after a wait - by pushing the drive when he jumped on reboot).  If I had the chance after a few hours, the video disc show up on my desk.  When this happened, I was opening the dvd player that was in the Finder and the disc would play. I also tried to open the dvd first player and then insert the disc.  That no longer works.  Yesterday, only it just stop working.  The reader still takes dvd and swirls and click as before but then ejects the dvd. Repeatedly stop and restart is no longer works.  I make sure that the dvd be clean before I use it and have tried many different DVDs without success.  I think it's a software issue.  Does anyone have an idea/instructions a nearly dead grandmother brain that can follow to update or redate back to original factory setting to help this poor Smartdrive not so smart?

I have no TV, only my computer and phone at low prices.  I need to watch that my library borrowed from the dvd.

    Thank you.

I suspect the optical drive has failed. My 2009 Mac Mini could not shoot with same symptom 4 years ago.

To confirm a drive failure, insert a Snow Leopard installation DVD and try to start with the C key.

If this isn't the case, they drive could not be started.

I would just get an external optical drive, one powered with an AC adapter. The Superdrive Apple USB does not work without a hack.

  • DVD (and iDVD) die?  If so, what is the alternative?

    Hi all

I LOVE iMovie 6 (iMovie HD) and iDVD.  I was use to edit and produce my own films at home for years.  I like to create DVDs from pleasure and share with my family and my friends.

The problem is that it seems that the days of DVD are numbered...  New computers come with a DVD player, and most people do not use their DVD players a lot more thanks to streaming services such as NetFlix, Hulu, Amazon, etc...

So my question is this: a DVD player will soon be like old VCRs that some of us still have?  Large boxes, collector of dust, but we can not totally get rid of them because we have a few VHS tapes favorite that we "might" want to play some time?

If DVD and DVD players disappear...  What will I do with my movies at home?

I understand that I could post them on YouTube, but this seems crazy, because I have a lot of home movies!  In addition, I really like the features of a DVD as chapters and be able to create a DVD with several individual films on it.

What I would REALLY like is to be able to create a "DVD", but store it in a flash drive and then a program or something that allows you to my friends and family get the flash drive on their smart TV (or computers) and allow them to access the 'DVD' as if there were a real DVD with all the options of origin that would be available on a disc.

Someone you understand what I mean?  And if yes, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for the future of the movies at home after the death of DVD have?

    Thank you!

    Lincoln

    Agreed.

To burn a DVD with the latest version of iMovie's iDVD, you must export the movie using the export button and select 480 p as the size. Open iDVD and start a new project, and then drag this file in the sequence exported to iDVD menu window, avoiding the drop areas that see you.

  • DVD player freezes when audio editing

My application DVD player recently started crashing every time that trying to change the volume of the silent era. The laptop is a MacBook 12 "retina 2015, using an external DVD drive that has worked very well for a year. Have tried on many different DVDs and they all load fine, DVD player auto-commence, but they all open with no sound. If I try to increase the volume of 0 on the slider, the player crashes. If I try to access audio via the menu 'Options' menu does load not for Audio and audio disk configuration is similarly frozen to corruption. Other audio works fine on the machine. Any idea on what could be the problem? Thank you.

    Greetings bhan001,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. It seems you want to play a dvd on the MacBook connected via an external dvd drive. Given that the application crashes using each dvd that you tried it may be a problem with the application itself. There are a few things that we can try to isolate and solve the problem.  I would recommend you read these articles, starting in safe mode disables the 3rd party applications that may interfere with the DVD player application. If the problem persists, we can try a new user to test to see if it's a matter of profile or the scale of the system.
