Formatting a hard drive with Vista Business w/XP Pro

I reloaded microsoft XP Pro operating system on my HP laptop to address reformatted but I still get request if I want to authenticate my version of the OS, whenever I start. My (disappeared) product key. Can you give us another key so that I can load XP Pro because I don't want Vista Business as my operating system, which I think is come installed with this HP laptop?

I hope you can answer my questions above quickly. Thank you.

Do not post your key in the forum. If you are still there, edit your message and remove it. And no, you will need to buy XP if you want a key

  • How do you format a hard drive with an operating system on it?

This is actual a fairly simple question, I think compared to what should probably be asking. But on the idea of the recovery discs, I think it's what I excatly. If anything on the idea of format and replaced by reformat. The computer didn't come with any disks or news or have any information. But all CD/DVD discs recovery.

In addition, when upgrading to this day, is losing usage characteristics. Options to other programs are losing as well. Or more hidden away from the use of the actual program.

Trying to find info to format the hard drive is not very accurate. Contact support is usually meet with updates.

Give something to work in the ideas of features/options elsewhere and others, disable or activate is just as accurate as to what it is with or against the options and features.

Try to work with those who don't, with or without update seems to be best with reformatting later, with a format that is better placed within the use and what features work as installed.

Help and Support is also in the lack of many topics and listed from the first installation. Online is the only other source of info otherwise. Updated information is the lack of fitness.

Thus, on the idea of having to reformat, I would rather just format the drive.

  • How to FORMAT my hard drive with a RECOVERY PARTITION and my system restore from. BKF files

History made as short as possible.

I inherited a gateway with XP Media Center 2004. I transferred all my old files to the new computer, and it worked fine. I did a full backup of the system (.) BKF). Later, I installed a disc for my Vivitar camera I used before with my old system and my computer crashed.

I tried everything I know to do a restore. F8, F10 and F11 during start-up and the best I could come up with was the safe MODE, but it would fail to any ENTRY.

I really feel like the hard disk must be formatted and start over. I can not access the recovery partition and no XP CD was provided.

My question is: How can I reformat the hard drive with a petition of recovery and reinstall my operating system of BKF files?

If you have a recovery partition, I suggest you post in the forums of the bridge

  • How to format a hard drive with a production system of crude fat ranking system 32

Try to format a hard drive in fat32.  Windows says it cannot format drive is gross, ranking system.

If the drive is larger than 32 GB, Windows XP does not let you format using FAT32 (there is a debate on the question of whether you can use the formatting command line tool, but given that it will take much time to format a large drive, you probably don't want to try it; Microsoft actually meant that you can't format a large FAT32 drive during the installation of Windows).

Keep in mind that a partition formatted in FAT32 has a maximum file size of 4 GB.

Microsoft recommends using a Win 98 boot disk (if your machine actually has a floppy drive).  Or you can download fat32format and use it.

  • Format my hard drive with XP

I have an older Dell with Windows XP and the disks of reinstalling original windows with purchase.  Caused by a virus, about 2 years ago I took my computer to a repair shop and had to reinstall windws XP.  I'm now trying to reinstall XP myself, but apparently the shop used a newer version reinstall drive, because when I load my CD, it says that it won't work because it is an older version.

Is it possible that I can format the hard ddrive and then re-load using my original XP CD?

You are trying to reinstall XP from within a session of XP, which cannot be done.  Insert the original CD in the drive and restart the computer.  At some point during the startup of th, a message «Press any key to boot from CD...» "should be displayed on the monitor. Press a button and the installation process should begin

  • Impossible to format a hard drive with XP Pro partition; some files to refuse to allow the deletion.

My original XP Pro OS has been corrupted after a CHKDSK procedure that wiped out the OS files. I finally had to re - install on another partition and now I want to format the C: partition to get rid of what was wrong with her. But the FORMAT has terminated before finishing on three tests. I deleted the 99% of the files, but about 5 or 6 are still saying that the system cannot remove them, and they are preventing the working FORMAT. Why the FORMAT is not just overwrite these files?

If you have reinstalled on another partition, then the boot loader is still on the origonal partition and formatting that partition will make your PC no longer starts

Start over and clean install win properly http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

BTW, a broken chkdsk procedure can indicate that your hard drive has a problem, you may want to visit your site from manufacturers of HD and download / create startup utility check disk for example SeaTools for Seagate drives

  • Upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for free. Format a hard drive with Windows 10. Same upgrade again.

I have laptop which has been also upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. But it works very well. But on PC I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 free without entering a product key. So at the beginning I had same problem as in this case:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_8-update/blackgrey-screen-after-update-and-restart/a3b479de-b565-48D9-8640-73ba8dcdc5d8
Which I was not able to solve. A kind of workaround was to create another user. But with that I lost all settings. So I restored Windows 10 in original condition and everything was fine. Until this happens:
    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-security/cant-access-change-user-account-control-settings/da8c63a9-F995-4e8b-88d8-34c4d813084e

I tried all the answers, that is to create another user, or use points of restoration, or boot. There is nothing to solve this problem. Then at first, I tried to apply USB recovery but after all treatment, there was an error and the only option to restart. Second, I tried to restore the system, which also failed. I'm done with formatting hard drive and use the Windows 7 DVD. I skipped looking for updates and you don't have invitation to upgrade in the taskbar. That said, when I tried to upgrade to Windows 10 with GetWindows10 - Web_Default_Attr.exe app after about 1-2 hout of certain operations it asks me to enter the product key and there is no option to skip this step.

Is it possible to upgrade once more at all? Do I need to install all updates for Windows 7 first? Or GetWindows10 - Web_Default_Attr.exe app is not a good way for me to upgrade?

You cannot format the drive Windows is installed on to in
Windows. It's like sawing the branch of a tree, you are sitting
    on.

What is your purpose here? You want to reinstall Windows properly?

If so, just boot from the Windows CD (any version) and follow the
guests for a clean install; the installation will begin by
    formatting the drive.

  • Hard drive with Vista?

Using Vista, which means when the computer disks window opens following authentication?  I have run diagnostics and get a failure on two test HD internal: target read and SMART short self test.  But when I run chkdsk, it doesn't seem to be a problem.  Should I take the player window as a sign that the internal hard drive is a logon failure when his connection?

    Thank you.

I don't know why Explorer opens the window of the player at the start, but you must take the warnings of diagnoses (especially the caveat SMART) seriously and prepare for imminent hard disk failure.  The idea behind SMART is that he sees the problems while they can still be compensated and to notify you prior to the system of training/can no longer compensate for the problem.
