Freeze to the Toshiba M35X-S149 on logo screen

Toshiba M35X-S149 my friend was working fine until today. When it is turned on, it appears to the Toshiba logo screen with "press [F2] for INSTALLATION, press [F12] for boot device selection menu' on the left status bar and"phoenix"to the right of the status bar and freezes. These same keys will not respond and he is now locked.

I'm a tech, so, naturally, disassembled the notbook looking for something unusual, such as loose connections, bad cables, cold solder joints, etc., but not found anything. It is nice and clean.

Anyone who has a suggestion?

Hello

It is very suspicious, if the user is not able to enter the BIOS settings. Usually in this case it must be something serious. The only thing you can try is to remove the battery for a short time and try again.

If you have disassembled the laptop have you also tried to remove the CMOS battery?

Sorry, but I don't see another solution than to contact the partner Service of your country.

    Hello

This means that your laptop can not pass the POST (Power On Self Test).

Self test is a rapid diagnostic test that checks the motherboard and connected devices
Theoretically, what could cause this problem faulty motherboard, RAM failure, etc.

In your case, I recommend you remove the RAM modules and check the simple modules.
You can try to remove only a single module. Check the two modules by using this procedure

Otherwise, you will need assistance from professional technician that the guy could run tests to find out what part is malfunctioning...

  • Satellite A100-590 PSAA9E freezes on the Toshiba start screen after BIOS update

    Hello.

Yesterday, I made an update of the BIOS on my Satellite A100-590 PSAA9E 03Z00QGR with the appropriate flash:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory = 2 & selFamily = 2 & selSeries = 153 & selProduct = 624 & langua ge = 17 & selOS = 10 & selType = all & yearupload = & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = userMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = all & selectedLanguag e = 17 & type = all & page = 1 & ID = 58477 & DISO =-1 & driverLanguage = 42

    BIOS - 20070709111839.zip

After flashing, the machine restarted automatically, but unfortunately it keeps now suspended from Thoshiba welcome screen. Also by pressing F2 or F12 will not change anything. It seems that the BIOS is damaged.

I saw that in the BIOS package are delivered the two files (s10gm590.rom and s10pm590.rom) flash. But just the execution of the BIOS590MP.exe SanAntonion10 a .vbs script starts decides which automatically selects and loads a flash file. Maybe she chose the wrong?

What should I do now? Is there a way to restore the BIOS, or do I have to send my laptop?

    Thanks in advance

  • NB200 freezes the Toshiba start screen.

    Hello

I have a NB200 - 11L which has been sitting with an annoying problem for a while now.
When I turn on the laptop it freezes at the "Toshiba - leading innovation" the BIOS boot screen and goes no further.

I get the same problem with or without food
I tried replacing the HARD drive but still no problem.
With no DISC in the system, it attempts to boot from the network & also allows me to access the BIOS (currently version 1.20)

Anyone else had problems like this & successful to solve?

    Thanks in advance :)

A few days ago, I saw the same problem on my Satellite A205 (American model) friends. After removing the HARD drive, I was able to enter the BIOS settings.

I ve value BIOS settings by default, the HARD drive has been replaced by a new and now everything works perfectly.

HARD drive was defective, and obviously the identification by BIOS HARD drive blocked throughout the system.

I recommend you get the new HARD drive and do the same thing.

  • Need drivers for Windows XP Home edition on the Russian language for Satellite M35x-s149

Help, please. Can not find the drivers for windows XP SP3 or SP2 on the Russian language for TOSHIBA Satellite M35X-S149.

I agree with sanremo, your model is designed for the American market, so I don't know if you can find a driver in Russian but look on this posted sanremo m Web site.

In the worst cases, you should choose an English language pilot, but this shouldn't be a problem.

  • Passage of a US power to a source of the UK on Satellite M35X-S149

I have returned from living in the United States and have a Satellite M35X-S149 laptop. As it was purchased in the United States, it has a power supply that runs a US plug two pins and the power cable no that a two way drive joining in the battery.

I would like to know if I can buy a UK power supply for use here in the United Kingdom. Just if you know what I've tried: I found a Toshiba power cord with plug 3 on the end and I tried to do this enter the battery, but who doesn't like the battery has only 2 holes for lead entry in and UK leads have 3 connectors not 2 If this does not work!

I realized now that I have to buy offers it all the power and not sure what one to get.

Can someone tell me if this is possible, and what to buy for my laptop model?

    Thank you.

I think that you will need a new European adapter.
In my view, an adapter for a European series like M30X may be compatible with your M35X.

    The M30X supports it:
    PA3396U - 65W - 19V - 3. 42 A - 100 ~ 240V

You can order the Toshiba ASP at the United Kingdom

As you can see this pictures shows different readers. On this point, you can choose which device should be used as first boot device.
When you start your laptop and when these symbols appear to press the right arrow several times (the red line of the brand will be moved to the right) and you will see how you can choose the right device.

When the device is marked just press the ENTER button.

  • Satellite Pro L870 don't stay on the Toshiba logo forever - no start

    Hi all

Does anyone know of a problem that could cause a no boot (a few stays on Toshiba logo forever) followed by starting on the second try almost every time on a Toshiba Satellite Pro L870 (Windows 8)?

    Thanks in advance

The laptop usually performs the POST (power on self-test) while the Toshiba splash screen is visible.
In power in the self-test, the essential components card mother (i.e. RAM) is enabled.

I think the POST should not be spent properly and so the laptop hangs at the Toshiba logo screen.

But unfortunately, I can't say with certainty what part could be affected it could be a RAM problem or a motherboard problem.

  • Re: satellite A300 screen turns off after the toshiba logo, will not boot from the CD/DVD

Hello, I have this problem with Toshiba satellite A300.

I deleted several files and folders of my drives C and E. To restart the computer, it only shows the Toshiba logo then a slightly gray white screen on a thorough inspection. Whenever I press CRL + ALT + DELETE, the computer restarts and behaves in the same way.

I tried to use an external monitor, but there is no difference. The tent to start using a CD/DVD, same behaviour occurs, it does not start and screen remains blank after the Toshiba logo, I tried even to change g the order of boot, but in vain.

    What could happen?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

It seems that you deleted system files and Windows no longer starts. Have you tried to restore the disk image factory settings or hard drive recovery? Or do copy the Windows installation... It is easier to reinstall rather fix the problem.

  • Dv4-2167 freezes on the HP logo screen

My laptop HP DV4-2167sb hangs at the HP logo screen.  I tried all the solutions listed on the site of HP (power reset, battery, cmos, memory, others work hard, Flash BIOS, etc.)  I tried the official DVD of the HP system recovery (Windows 7 Recovery for Windows 7 media products), but the system crashes and does not start the DVD.

Here's the strange part.  If I remove the hard drive I can get into the BIOS.

The laptop only starts linux on a usb key when the hard disk is deleted.  Everything works perfectly, while running Linux (monitor, memory, DVD player, etc.).

The laptop only starts from linux CD if there is a bootable USB device attached (i.e. the USB stick with linux, ipod, etc.)  Here are the scenarios and messages when errors occur.

Someone has an idea of what could be the problem.  I think it may be the hard disk controller, but I do not know how to test for a bad controller.

    -James

I finally understood the problem of the drive not being not well.  Bezel plastic of the SATA connector in the bottom Bay low.

The SATA connector in the hard drive Bay did not have contact with the pins on the hard drive.  It seems that the bottom bezel plastic of the SATA connector in the Bay was small and sagging.  That's why he provided enough support for the disk hard so that the connector pins make contact.

I cut a small piece of rigid plastic and inserted into the lower part of the plastic bezel.  It has provided support and the pins on the hard disk to make contact with the SATA connector pins.

My hard drive is now recogonized and works perfectly.

  • Satellite M35X-S149 dead hard drive - need advice

    Hi all.

My old Toshiba Satellite M35X-S149 had a dead hard drive. I took it for repair, but they said it could not be repaired and they could not recover the information about it.

I think to be auctioned on eBay for parts only. I wonder if all the data that might be on the hard drive can be hacked somehow. I doubt if there is anything that it doesn't matter who would be able to do anything with anyway, but I would like the opinion of someone who knows more about this kind of thing than me.

Thanks in advance for any ideas or advice.

    Carla

    Hey Buddy,

Why you n t remove the HARD drive before you sell the laptop? I would never sell a HARD drive on eBay because some people try to restore the data. If I have a HARD drive that I don't need more, I use it as HARD drive external or I trash because cheap hard drives these days, you get can 500 GB for about 50 Euros.

Finally, and especially if the HARD drive is really bad, nobody seems so just remove and sell your laptop without HARD drive. ;)
