• Storage vMotion with snapshots

  I'm trying to implement storage vMotion in vSphere and I wanted to try to clarify some of the requirements.  3.5, VMS with snapshots could not be SVM' ed.  This has now changed in 4.1 or anyone know if it will change in the future?  Does anyone found a workaround for this limitation?

  Currently, there is no work around for this.  The only way is to commit snapshots, then svMotion above.  Who knows what will be the next major version to the table well!

  It seems that the configuration (.vmx) file has been deleted (zero byte). I recreated a new you have attached log files. Please replace the file corrupted with VMware Workstation (or at least tab of the virtual machine) closed in order to ensure that the replaced file gets read.

  VM snapshots sometimes do not deleted because out of errors such as:

  -Unable to access the file filename not specified

  -Impossible to access, unspecified filename file because it is locked

  -The virtual disk is either corrupt or not a format supported

  There are a few reasons why this would happen

  -VM busy to not commit snapshot

  -Locking VM background tasks

  -Backup application do not release the VM files.

  I also agree that a 1% failure ratio is not bad, the problem is to manage. This happens on all backup applications.

  It seems that you have to manually search for the virtual machines where the shots are not deleted.

  That should be handled by the backup software to give you a notification if a snapshot could not be deleted.

  I know that some other backup software gives you a notivication during the validation of the snapshot has failed, so it is possible.

  Deleting a message that "it mark as deleted", but it's still in the folder that is hidden from view. It's now displaying in the folder "deleted".

  you need to compact your file.
  ClickON Inbox right and select "Compact".

  Inbox, junk and probably get most of the activity when it comes to deletion, so they should be compacted ona regularly.
  I have several emails that I will delete every day, so these two fodler get compacted by day.

  What happens when you try to scan? Do you have a message of error before or during transmission scan, or do the software is not open? Maybe you can not locate the software now, or the software cannot communicate with the printer.

  While I wait for you, if the problem occurs when you print from several programs, please follow the steps below and let me know the results of your efforts.

  Scrub / uninstall

  • Open the Applications folder > HP or Hewlett-Packard folder > Uninstall HP
  • Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.

  • Click Uninstall.

  • In Macintosh HD/Library/StartupItems, drag the following files in the trash, IO HP and HP trap monitor

• Migration of VMS with Snapshots

  I'm at the stage of planning an ESX 3.5/VC 2.5 upgrade to vSphere.  This will be a 'rotating' upgrade, so many migrations VM will take place.  We are all local storage, so the migration will be in data warehouses.

  Unfortunately my shop uses snapshots very strongly.  I am aware of the problems created when popular VM migration with snapshots in data warehouses.  My question is, using VMware Converter makes this possible?  If I can avoid having to delete all snapshots, it would be a huge bonus.  I can't seem to find a definitive answer on whether or not, the converter can handle this.

  You are right, you cannot migrate a virtual machine without deleting the existing snapshots.

  The alternative you are thinking to use vCenter Converter to migrate virtual machines, it is a good choice to avoid deleting snapshots and all the time this action takes.  VCenter Converter will migrate virtual machines in the current state.

  The cookies are protected in this extension, so otherwise (clear recent history) will still remove them.
  You can leave all cookies expire if you close Firefox and keep protected cookies.
