Fusion does not start in Boot Camp

Hello

I try to get Fusion 2.0.5. to open Windows Boot Camp on a Macbook Pro, OSX 10.5.7. Also, when I try 'start-up' Window XP Pro in Fusion, I get the following error message: (see attachment)

I have no idea what it means. I am completely at a loss on how best to proceed. I would appreciate any useful contribution. Thank you so much in advance. Please let me know if someone was able to open the attachment. If this isn't the case, I'll paste in the error message.

Heh, welcome to the forums, silentfeet =)

I'm glad that you've resolved.

Sorry, nobody has been able to chime and offer a helping hand, but I'm curious to know how you got on fixing the issue?

Could be useful for the next person who comes through this same dam.

    Hi John,.

I checked your logs - thank you for them!  That you use in an accident in one of the Apple libraries (OpenSSL, to be precise), which uses VMware Fusion.

Usually, the message appears because the laptop could not boot boot device...
In most cases the disk HARD is not found in BIOS due to the fault and therefore the laptop not found system.

Question: are you able to access the BIOS F2 key?
If so, the HARD drive is listed in the BIOS?

You can boot from another bootable media such as disk or a USB key?

  • Fusion does not start

I'm under Fusion 3.12 the current Macbook Air. I don't think it's been more than a couple of weeks that last, he ran, and there is no problem at this time there. However, now when I click on the icon in the dock, it will bounce once and then stop. Running it in the applications folder anything also. No error message appears, either. I tried to reboot the system with no luck. Any ideas?

Try reinstalling Fusion (this will not affect your virtual machines). If it does not, in a Terminal window run "/ Library/Application\ Support/VMware\ Fusion/vm - support.tool" (without the quotes) and fix the result.

  • Help, VMWare Fusion does not start

    Hello world

The night last VMWare fusion stop Windows XP on it is.  I use Mac OS X.  Now, the screen is black. I can not shut down or restart the virtual machine. It only allows me to suspend.  I have already stopped my mac once and restarted. When I restarted VMWare the screen remains black.  I found the following on the support page suggesting. I can understand how everythign except 'launch of Fusion parameters.  I'm afraid to try this to spoil things. I have attached a few newspapers. I was looking on the forum and it seems that a few people have asked this problem, but I didn't know what to do by reading the discussions.  Any thoughts? Fixed certain log files.

You are able to stop the Windows XP or 2000 virtual machine:

    < / div >

    1. Click the Virtual Machine in VMware Fusion menu.

    2. Choose Shut Down Guest list and launch the Parameters of Fusion.

    # Check if the there is no anomaly.

If the problem persists, remove Fusion suspend file.

    To remove Fusion suspend files:

    < / div >

    1. Stop VMware Fusion

    2. Search for and locate your Windows XP virtual machine. The default VM location is users / & lt; username & gt; / Documents/Virtual Machines .

    3. Click the Pack Windows of the virtual machine and choose Show Package Contents.

  • Delete suspends .vmss and .vmem of the directory of the virtual machine files.

  • Remove the lock files or records (.lck or . WriteLock) from the directory of the virtual machine.

  • Open the .vmx file using a text editor.

  • # Delete the following entry in the .vmx file:

    checkpoint.vmState = "& lt; virtual_machine_name & gt;. VMS.

    # Save your changes. < / div >

To be on the right side read a bit about where to find things of A Beginner's Guide to VMware Fusion

Once you find your current VM (this is what I meant by VM topic), then you can either copy & paste as you suggest, or drag another hard drive (if you have several available) and it will copy.  From my experience, it takes about 1 GB / minute to copy between 2 Firewire 400 external drives, then the copy may take some time depending on the size of the virtual machine is.

It's probably a good sign that Shut Down Guest is active, then force power off can back you on track.

By chance, you had just upgraded merger, or have you tried to upgrade VMware Tools when this started to happen?  At the end of the log, it seemed that tools attempted an update, and I wonder if you are stuck in some kind of loop when trying to manage this.

Backup and try the power first, I hope that you will get underway again.

throughout these updates, it always reminds you have the power cord plugged in and not to turn off the laptop.

first of all it is then checked for a backup which was not one, so then then it restarted and began to

start installing the updates that was around 64 to nearly 70 of them if I remember I thought crazy it

    has taken an eternity.

following it then restarted and installed a reconfiguration 3 updates to re configure the hard disk, which he did not (this may just happen on my laptop)... and then it restarted and installed 3 updates 3 of 3 to 100% with each.

and after restarting my personal profile came on windows vista family premium, I entered my password and its opening! ... I was amazed!

but to test the problem I did a reboot with power cable attached to the phone, he was fine. then a stop down and turn on without power cable, always very well.

I'm now writing this online with my laptop :-). . I hope it stays like that.

  • Vista Boot Camp partition does not start

I have been using Fusion to open my Boot Camp with Vista Ultimate installed partition.  It worked fine for months.  Suddenly, I get a windows Boot Manager error.  The message says that some required files missing.  Here's the weird: I can open the Visa using Boot Camp partition.

    Any ideas?

    Tim

Note: These steps assume that you have a default Apple installation of Windows and a VMware Fusion Boot Camp Virtual Machine default partition and if you changed the Boot Camp partition the Virtual Machine to add additional hard disks to be virtual or RAW disk then do not use these instructions unless you backup the Boot Camp partition the Virtual Machine package first.

    1. If the merger is open, close it.

    2. in a Terminal (/ Applications/Utilities/Terminal) copy and paste command, as the following and then press Enter and it will remove the Boot Camp Virtual Machine meta-data partition. Note: This does not affect the Boot Camp partition to install Windows. Also make sure that you copy the entire command below "rm" line at the beginning of the ' (quote) after the p in the Camp. "

RM - dfr "/Users/$ the specified item was not found./Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines / Boot Camp."

    3. start Fusion (/ Applications/VMware Fusion.app) and select the Boot Camp partition on the library of the Virtual Machine window, and then click the run button.

Notes: Then, an authentication dialog box appears. "VMware Fusion requires that you type your password." Enter your name and password, and then click OK. (It is necessary to remove the Boot Camp for the merge partition to access it directly).

Then, we should see a Boot Camp partition message stating "VMware Fusion prepares your Boot Camp partition to run as a virtual machine. This may take a few minutes. This occurs once. »

When the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine starts for the first time after this VMware Tools may want or will install/update and restart the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine.

  • Fusion 8 trial goes wrong - Win8.1 VM, imported from Parallels, does not start

I was pretty many small problems with Parallels, so I thought that I had trial VMware. After importing my Parallels VM, it does not start in Fusion. A few details:

    Fusion 8.0.1 - 3094680, downloaded today VMware.

I installed it, accepting all the defaults. Let him import my Parallels VM work. From the first test, wouldn't start Windows. After using Windows for many years, I am familiar with its built-in startup repair functions, so I followed, as follows:

All down took place inside the virtual machine in the virtual machine window, at the start of the first attempt.

"Your PC came across a problem..." »

    "Automatic repair".

"Diagnosis of your PC", which recommended that I just tried the reboot, so I did.

"Your PC came across a problem..." »

    "Automatic repair".

""Diagnose your PC' this time, I chose Advanced Options > troubleshooting > Advanced Options > startup repair, which took me through "diagnose your PC", check disk for errors, ""repair disk errors. That has not helped - I found myself at the beginning: "Your PC came across a problem..." »

I tried again the whole process and am still unable to boot: "Your PC came across a problem..." »

Oh, my Mac is a MBP, the model of 2014, the 16 GB of RAM, a Yosemite OS X fully updated running. There are about 150 GB of SSD disk space, and the virtual machine is set to 8 GB of RAM.

Any ideas? I'll be happy to check if suggested things and report.

The first thing I would try would be to uninstall the drivers/additions/tools from inside the virtual machine before you import it - that is to say from inside Parallels.  Have you tried?

Check that Parallels knows that it is a virtual machine Windows 8.1 (or the closest guest OS type he understands).  We rely on the knowledge of the OS type asked to perform various tasks during the import, and we could get confused if it is not correctly set prior to importation.  By the way, check what disk controller, we chose to use for the virtual hard disk.  SATA is probably the safest option, but I can't predict with certainty how it works if you use a type of controller of different disk for the virtual machine in Parallels.

I hope it's useful!  Feel free to post them here if none of these solves the problem.

    See you soon,.

  • Flow 10 7 HP - Windows does not start, I can't get into recovery 8.1 because cannot boot from USB-HELP Please!

    Hi all, I'm new here!

I am (excuse me: has) with a stream 7

A few days ago, I tried to install Windows 10 TP renovation 8.1 with Bing. After a while of waiting, he managed, but unfortunately I have forgiven to in SSD Tablet hp drivers, thinking that they were not necessary. If the touchscreen, WiFi and all the other stuff has failed. After I've got collegated by OTG, a keyboard and a mouse, that I managed to use Windows 10.

Try to install the drivers, my fault, I opened a .exe from Realtek (perhaps for audio), Tablet asked to reboot and after that I can't access Windows anymore.

I tried to start Windows 8.1 from a USB key, but it does not start, the same even if I disable secure boot.

With disabled bitlocker Windows gives this error

In the start option, I set these settings

I put the USB in this way:

The stream does not consider the USB absolutely XD

If I turn on again the secure boot Windows gives this error (which 99% is caused by the .exe I installed):

Restart the flow some time with secure boot it goes in a menu (where touch screen works) where there are a lot of options to reset Windows, but none of them doesn't work. If I try to format in this menu it asks password for my account, but it does not accept the mine :/

If I try to open the collection (from volume button when it starts less) it gives this message:

    Waiting for relief,

    Thank you for your patience!

@fotogruia in my case, the indicated operating system was windows 10 and as I wrote it has worked well. Good luck!

  • Satellite A30 does not start with the USB device connected at boot time

    Hello

I have a Satellite A30 and sometimes it does not start.
After turning on, not even the BIOS starts.
even if sometimes the BIOS starts, but the OS does not load.

I figured out that its related to USB devices connected at boot time.
If no USB devices are connected, it starts without a problem.
Even if the start-up is suspended, as soon as you unplug start it BIOS USB devices.
Its ok to connect USB devices later, once the system has started.
I disabled "removable devices boot" and "network startup."
just in case, but it makes no difference.

BIOS is version the most recent (1.70) and it comes up with all kinds of USB devices.
printer, mouse and (self-powered) external USB hard disk.

    Is this a known issue?
There is no known workaround solution?

    Hello

I put t know why this happens, but it has to do with the BIOS.
The same thing happened on my old laptop. I couldn't start my unit while the USB printer has been turned on and connected.
The only solution is to disconnect the external USB device during the boot process.

RSY you should check if the order of boot in the BIOS has been on the HARD drive first.

    Hello
I replaced the power supply with a CX550M of Corsair, increased memory by exchanging the 4 GB to 8 GB for a 16 GB total, I added a hybrid 2 TB Seagate HDD and all worked fine until yesterday, about 1 month.
Yesterday, I decided to run all the tests of the Lenovo startup disk and after that I restarted, the computer does not start.
When I press the power button, the fan starts and it stops after 3 or 4 seconds and nothing happens, the monitor says no signal, I removed the external USB disk and printer, I reoved the second drive and the same thing heppens.
Any idea what this problem could be? Would it be a bad power supply?
    Thank you

my system does not start upwards - don't stop progression blue bar that goes round and round.  I can boot into safe mode and safe mode with networking mode.

    Hello

As you are able to boot to the desktop in Mode safe, it means that the third-party application prevents the computer from starting in normal mode. To check you can configure the computer to clean start State and then try to boot into normal mode and check what is happening. To set up its own start-up follow the link below.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

If the problem does not continues when the computer is in the clean start State follow the steps listed to identify which application is causing the problem.

Note: When you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 7 article to start on normal startup.

    Hope this information is useful.
