G575 BIOS will not start sometimes
For some reason, the BIOS on my Lenovo G575 refuses simply kick often enough, even if I press F2 when the Lenovo logo comes up. In fact, the message on F2 inside does not appear when it does not work and appears when it works. There is no password in the BIOS of this laptop
It worked this morning, but after that I installed an operating system, it no longer works.
I took the CD and HARD drive out, but who does not work either.
I tried to take the battery and the charger on and press the power button a couple of times to clear the cache and I even took the RAM but still nothing.
I read somewhere that on another G model the guy needed to hold to the letter B button when the power so that the "F2" would appear and then he would be able to enter the BIOS. He said he had this happens on three laptops.
I wonder now if a similar strike is what would fix this for me, as holding B and then pressing the power or power of pressing and then B does not work on mine.
Someone at - it any other suggestions?
I have no work OS do a bios upgrade/downgrade through.
I finally found a solution.
What happened was that I installed Windows 8 but the installation was not successful, and as such I couldn't access the BIOS because we can do that via the menu of settings from inside Windows System.
What I did leave the laptop start with Windows after Windows logo, take the battery and then pull the power cord out of it.
Apparently in the event of loss of power, it will then show you the F2 and F12 options at the next reboot.
That's what you get when you have Windows 8 or 10 Windows.
Try it and it will work.
It worked for me, we had a new hard drive and the laptop was defective and almost threw the thought.

L775-11N satellite will not start
Hello
I bought a L775 almost a year ago, but today it has stopped booting. It freezes at the screen of the BIOS (Toshiba logo).
No HDD LED activity, but all the others are fine.I think that the HARD drive is defective, as I traded with my portable Linux and it works.
However, (a Seagate Momentus XT ST95005620AS) HARD drive works on another computer and even on Linux with the Toshiba (on an external HARD drive enclosure). He has some bad sectors (INTELLIGENT default), but it works as it should.
I tried to clean the CMOS memory, wipe the HARD drive (using GParted), but nothing.
Any ideas?
I think it fails because of the CHIP, as the BIOS will not start on this HARD drive because of the errors, but I'm not sure. I tried to update the BIOS (I think that I've upgraded to 1.90 but there is a 2.0 release), but looks like it is a Windows software only.
Thanks for your replies
EDIT: I can boot the disk when it is inside a USB enclosure.
Hello
I don t think that this question is related to the failure of HARD drive.
Even if the HARD drive is faulty, the laptop must pass the POST (power self test) properly but it doesn t it freezes to the Toshiba start screen and this means that the POST has not been passedI think you should check the RAM. A faulty RAM can cause this kind of problem
Otherwise, it could be a serious problem with the motherboard. -
Computer will not start normally - boots to the BIOS boot screen
Hi, today I had problems on my computer and it will not start normally upward. This started happening today. When I turn on the monitor, the HP logo appears on a blue screen (as usual), but then, there are a lot of vertical white lines grouped perfectly on the screen (it's never happened before) he started to arrive yesterday. and when I try to start it, there is just a black screen for a long time and sometimes the system recov appears but it takes SO long to finish so I just stopped and went into safe mode and did a quick scans with Malwarebytes, MS Security Essentials and SUPERAntiSpyware, but they are all come clean except SUPER which came with a few things from tracking cookies...
Today, I have scanned a full scan with malwarebytes and it says that there is no infection.
can someone help me? I'm at the library atm! Thank you!
Picture of the blue screen with lines here: http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/8583/post1278441253416372.jpg
also - im wondering how to start with recov disks? I have two drives but only as on slot dvd thing and I know to start upward with her? should I boot with it because the layout is a little down? and I don't have an installation disc windows vista then Yes.
Thank you very much!
Hello Winston,
According to the image that you posted, it seems that the blue screen is a blue screen with the HP logo on the subject.
If this is the case, then the machine has not yet reached Windows and is suspended in the machine Power On Self Test.
My recommendation for this scenario is to contact HP about what there is something at the level of the material / process/firmware BIOS which prevents the machine to get it to start Windows Vista.
Let us know what they have to say.
Best regards

L50-A-19N satellite will not start in the BIOS
Hello
I have a problem with my laptop.
I have installed 8.1 and fedora 20 windows.I was in fedora, when I decided to restart Windows.
Instead of grub, I saw message with the error and my notebook has stopped booting.I pressed the power button / stop, he died but when Im trying to start it again, I see the logo of Toshiba Leading Innovation and that's it.
It will not start any further.
I decided to get my system, but when I press F2 or F12, nothing happens.
I can't get into the BIOS!Please, help me to solve it.
Somehow, this seems really strange
I m wondering why you are unable to access the BIOSWhat you can try to do is, remove the laptop HARD drive and switch on and press F2.
From my point of view of the rare even if the isn't HARD drive connected, you should be able to access the BIOS.But for Pierre, I'm not very well your laptop problem is related to the faulty / corrupt Boot partition m
However, your comments would be greatly appreciated

Just got an iMac and it will not start up. I can get the sound start and, sometimes, the Apple logo, but it stops there.
Have tried to use 'command-option-P-R' together. Have you tried "D". Tried "control C". Are there other possibilities that I could try?
Install or reinstall OS X from scratch
Make sure that you have backed up your files because the following procedure will remove all of the hard drive.
HD recovery start:
Restart the computer and after the buzzer, press on and hold down the COMMAND and R until the menu screen appears.
Erase the drive:
1. select in the main menu disk utility and click on the continue button.
2. once the charges of THE select your boot volume (usually Macintosh HD) in the
list on the left. Click on the Erase tab in the main window of THE.
3. set the type of format Mac OS extended (journaled). If necessary, click
Security and button all the option data from scratch in a single pass. Click
the clear button and wait until the process is complete.
4 leave FROM and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select reinstall OS X and click on the install button.
Note : You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest to use Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should install the version of Mac OS X that you had installed it.
If this does not work then your hard drive has failed and must be replaced. Please make an appointment at the Apple Store - Genius Bar store and bring it into service. If you are in the United States or is unable to make an appointment in this way, contact your Apple store.

Satellite A40 will not start or start the BIOS
Hello
I have a portable Satellite A40 2 days ago decided to turns off while I was on the internet, and now it does not restart. I tried removing the battery and leave overnight, but it still will not start. When give you it power outlet, the AC LED is green and if you press the button power turns on the green power light, but that's all, the HARD drive light does not illuminate, the fan does not come on, no sound from the HARD drive and nothing on the screen, not even the backlight. You can also feel the heatsink gets hot (without excess however)
If you insert a CD, you can here read the disc, and find things out there, too, now the power button still cut off the laptop.
If anyone has any advice on what may be the cause, or any way I can get the machine to reboot again, that would be greatly appreciated.
Hello
Have you tried to connect the laptop to the external monitor to check if pictures or anything else appears on the second monitor?
Your description sounds like the malfunctioning of the internal display, but it is only a suggestion and a few trials are required to obtain a diagnosis right.

G5 will not start. LED light on. Fans before working.
Early 2005 G5. running 10.5.8.
G5 will not start. LED light (no flashes not but solid). Fans before working. Rear fans blowing not. Cleaned up the dust. A exploded during a down and will not restart. Any thoughts? Is that a bad diet? What I would do. Thanks for any help. I love this old computer and hope to keep fixed and working.

Some of the fundamental things include the pram/clock battery replacement
since they may be dead; then with a power failure, sometimes the Mac
do not restart. Usual power management unit & reset NVRAM/PRAM are
methods that sometimes also used as a troubleshooting measure.
• Reset the Mac chip power management: (see SMU)
http://www.thexlab.com/FAQs/resetpmchip.html
• How to reset NVRAM-LANDAU on your Mac - Apple Support
A hard reset can sometimes be used, where the power is disconnected
the logic board and power removed from grill; Then push the Start button / stop.
(But maybe not. Several PowerMac computers, I had, some people found this helpful)
You may also remove and reposition cards and other items
the inside of the case, to be sure they are connected properly. Be sure to not
In short anything, due to the static load or residual power in the circuits.
The hour is late here, so I'm not going offline; If all goes well a battery original or novel, etc.
can help to put it on again. Also sometimes the power supply has some faulty fans,
circuits or capacitors, so they can be troublesome to repair or replace.
Good luck in this case!

Recovery disk will not start on Satellite 1110
I try to use the recovery on a Satellite 1110 CD. I want to just install fresh Windows. The necessary files are supposed to be on the Toshiba recovery CD that accompanies it.
So I did what the brochure says, and booted up the laptop to the top with the correct CD in the drive, while pressing 'C '. The notebook ignored the CD ROM and loaded Windows as usual. I repeated three times, each time that the CD ROM whirs a bit but will not start and Windows loads as usual. I have replaced 'C' for F12, chose the CD ROM drive in the list and repeat the process several times. Yet once it wouldn't boot from the CD-ROM.
I looked at the content of the CD ROM A single MB 447. File of the GHS. The file icon is that generic type "Windows does not know what program this icon is intended to" deals.
Google believes it is a ghost file and must the ghost installed to run it. This bitch never came with Ghost.
Anyone here knows a remedy to this problem?
(NB - I tried clean Windows system restore option, but it just brings back me to September this year. Theres no option that was more early in life for portable computers)
I am in the United Kingdom, and is a UK machine if that makes a difference.
Hello Micha
Is this your ODD works properly with the operating system?
I put really know what exactly is happening here, but please make sure that you start with recovery CD number 1/2 2/2. The installation of recovery, you can just start with the first recovery CD. Also try please set CD-ROM as firs boot device in the BIOS.

L50 - B satellite will not start when the battery is completely discharged
Hello
My Toshiba L50 - B won't start when the battery is fully drained but connected to the power outlet.
I try to work most of the time on the battery to keep the battery in good shape, but when I forgot to turn off the battery drains and the system will not start when I plug in the adapter. The battery charge indicator is orange light as it should. Only when the battery is fully charged to 100%, it will run at startup and function normally after that. I tried to turn on the laptop several times during the charge cycle, but only when the charge indicator changes from yellow to white it starts. Tested for 2 bodies.
My old Toshiba always immediately turned on when I plugged the adapter even when the battery has been completely drained. Am I missing a setting somewhere?
Thanks for responding... I hope well :-)
Toshiba L50 - B
Windows 8.1
Any standard/original setting since I only acquired this laptop a month ago.The laptop should light up if the power adapter is plugged in and power the laptop corectly any if the battery is empty or during charge.
Please check the version of the BIOS that is available on your mobile phone and compare with the BIOS available on the page of the Toshiba UE driver
Maybe you need to update the BIOS, but to be honest, the history seems really odd to me and I m afraid that there could be some power supply electronic problemSo in the worst case, the laptop must be checked by authorized service provider.

Re: Satellite L300-1AS will not start
Hi all
Now my L300 will not start not (windows (Vista).
It shows a blue screen saying that windows has been shut down and to check the installation of new hardware or software.
There is no new hardware or software. He suggested to disable the bios memory options (I don't know how to do this) and suggests to start in safe mode to remove or disable components. The laptop does NOT start in any mode not to mention safe mode, repair mode that brings back me to the blue screen as described.
I bought a Toshiba Recovery disk (a single disc happened?) that begins its process then two locks of "select a language to move forward" or detects an error and request I have "press any key to continue' what I'm doing, it then displays X:\windows\system32 > with the cursor flashing at the end of > and does nothing more , its been like that for 5 hours now... I'm supposed to type something in or I am looking at a new hard drive?Suggestions for a greatly appreciated numpty (outside to let computers alone numpty you of course!)
Thanks
Colin
Hello
Yes, the recovery disc's one disc it s DVD ;)
Return to be issued;
I think that it s material related since the recovery disk should work for sure.
The blinking cursor can be related to a faulty memory or HARD drive.
Both should be checked. You could remove a memory module and might try to power the device using a single memory module in a slot.
Of course, the best would be a use of two new modulesThe HARD drive can be checked using a tool called Drive Fitness Test (it of free use google to find it)

C satellite will not start - only toshiba logo appears
My laptop is only 1 week and will not start.
All I get is the toshiba logo and the screen becomes a pale bluish color.Any ideas?
What is your laptop model?
You are able to access the BIOS?
Turn on the unit button and press F2 to enter the BIOS.
The BIOS screen is visible?Another idea: the laptop turns on, press the F12 key.
Usually, you should see a start menu. Here choose the last option called HARD drive recovery.
This option allows you to recover the computer laptop back to factory settings. -
Satellite P305-S8820 won't start no-POST 'BLACK SCREEN' will not start up CD
When the HARD drive is connected Vista does not start, regardless of the boot order. Instead, it shows just a black screen with no cursor. Supplied recovery disks will not start. I removed the HARD drive and ran a scan of the disc to see if the drive went wrong, no dice, the disc is good and works fine via usb-sata on another computer.
I inserted just the toshiba recovery disk, without HARD drive, and it starts. I connected the external HARD drive now and vista tries to start BSOD, I tried safe mode, last known, everything, nothing works, all get a BSOD disappearing too fast for me to read.
I searched a dump file on my other computer and was a failure. When the HARD drive is connected via usb vista tries to start and the toshiba cd works now, however, it will not perform a complete installation of factory toshiba it does not find the HARD drive? I'm a windows user and I have years of experience with x 86 programming and windows 32-bit operating systems, but I'm stumped. Bad RAM? Bad Sata? Bad HARD drive? Bad CD/DVD? It is Vista Home premium.
I don't want to reformat and lose all my data "I AM A REAL 'IT' not a silly computer user" no offense to all the others out there but I refuse just "format and forget ' tools used invites to rebuild the BCD and this does not work either and automatic repair does nothing, recovery does not work as it says there is no recovery points I am frustrated beyond words.
Finally, this operating system is just horrible, I was once the 'happy' owner of a copy of Windows ME and it does not give me half of the problems that makes this operating system.
I'm fed up with this, and am half tempted to ask my money for my computer, it might not be the responsibility of the user barely shoot / resolve these problems, they should be addressed before the product was released.
I am at a loss. Help, please.
Thank you
Kevin
I'm a bit confused with the info given, but if you can not restore/repair Windows, while you should do is back up your data to another PC using a USB adapter, and then run the recovery on the HARD drive internal in the P305.
You must also update the BIOS.

Pavilion ID46 g6 will not start
Product: Pavillion g6 ID46
[Edited by Moderator] Serial No.
Product # A6Z74UA #ABA
OP sys: Windows 7 Home Prem OA
Pavillion G6 my husband will not start. What happened: returned to the computer after being away for a while, shook the wake up the mouse and the screen «has exploded in many colors and motion pixels» Screen went black, then a screen "do you want to start in safe mode" popped up. He tried a start-up without danger, but he failed and gave him a Bios Application error 501. He tried to restart the computer, but it crashes on the 'Starting Windows' screen with 4 color icon.
I have:
Removed the battery and tried to restart. Not good.
Has taken the hard disk and and reinstalled it. Ditto.
Tried to boot mode safe, before and after the following below. "Loading files" still stuck on Windows\System32\drivers\CLASSPNP. SYS
Burned and ran a repair disc. Took 4 hours and the program ran at the end when I was asked to reboot. Computer hooked on "Starting Windows" screen. (I left this screen function for more than 5 hours without this change.)
Ran the program System Repair twice, same results.
Start of Tests ran. After self-test of the main hard drive, hard drive SMART and verification Test of memory system (passed 100%)
Tried to restore the BIOS using Windows + B and power with several attempts. Button Power LED stays on, about 20 seconds later a small LED on the "caps lock" key flashes white twice. Black screen and nothing happens after 5 minutes. He raised his eyes and 2 flashes is supposed to be the corruption of the BIOS.
Error log lists these: quick 03F0 303, 501 error and error of hard disk 1.
I have a lot of intelligence of the computer, so appreciate any help you can give, especially if assistance is simple and easy to follow terms.
Mahalo in advance!
Well, nothing worked and I did not attempt to remove the HD and turn it on again. Husband returned to a comp sci student who managed to get some info on the HD, but said that the HD was shot.
Good thing is that I got a new Asus laptop and put my old computer to my dear husband. So, I guess that the problem is solved! Thanks for your help.
