Game Gamehouse to Vista 64 issues

I have had installation problems with most of the games from Gamehouse and have been emailing them back.  I finally got on the phone with them and they told me that they do not support vista 64 and I need a fix of vista for 64-bit compatibility.  So I put "fix vista for 64-bit compatibility" in a google search and the first on the list is the microsoft Download Center and is an update to Windows Vista for systems-KB938194 x 64-based.
I checked the system requirements and it does not support my operating system-Windows Vista Home premium 64-bit.  I tried to install it and pops up this message-"the update does not apply to your system."  I checked all my updates and KB938194 isn't on the list, so it's not like it has already been installed.  Help, please.  Thank you.

Hello Miss Pugs,

Thank you for posting.

They are assuming that when you download the game it will on your desktop as it does in XP.  Vista has its own download folder to the downloads go.  You will need to run the installer in compatibility mode when you install the game.  You can get to your download folder by clicking the ORB/start, and then click your user name.  Once there, you will see the Downloads folder that will hold all your downloads (unless you change the location where files download on)

Remember that it is a fix temporary until Gamehouse free updates or patches to their games. Zack

    Hi aminal Merlin,

Most programs written for an earlier version of Windows also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all. If an older program does not work, use the compatibility mode to run these programs.

    1. right click on the main game program icon that you want to play in this version of Windows, and then click Properties.

    2. click on the Compatibility tab.

    3. under "Compatibility Mode", check the box that reads as "run the program in compatibility mode for" and in the drop-down menu, select Windows XP or another previous version of Windows.

    4. click on apply and then OK.

5 install the game in compatibility mode and restart once the installation is complete.

Check if this helps you play these games in Windows Vista.

    Hello

Thank you for your message and give us the opportunity to help you.

I understand that you want to transfer a game from Windows Vista to Windows 8.

If you upgrade to Vista to 8, the upgrade wizard will tell you if the game will be compatible and if it can be preserved during the upgrade.
You will not be able to transfer games from a Vista machine on a Windows 8 machine.
The game has to be installed from the Web of CD/DVD/developers site.

  • If I buy windows 7 run my games that are vista

If the game is for vista will work on 7

In most cases yes.  Indeed, if the game is made for Vista, it will almost certainly work.  If the game is made for XP and it worked on Vista, it will likely run.  There are a few exceptions, but not many.

  • Satellite Pro M70: The game performance with Vista and Intel 915GM graphics card

    I have a satellite Pro M70 1.73Ghz with 768 MB of RAM.
Although many would condemn the 915GM chipset (with graphic GMA900) as garbage, I was surprised to find on XP it can run quite a few games like Need for Speed Underground 2.
I've heard some bad comments on the chipset with vista, and I was wondering if there is anyone out there who knows if I'll get the same kind of performance 3D with vista or not.

    Hey guys

You have a Mobile Intel 915GM 8MB - 128 MB shared memory graphics memory. What do you expect?
Check on the Microsoft website, the terms of Vista!

It s not a graphics card performance and the games will not work with fast performance under XP and not Vista OS.

    Expect too buddy!

  • TRYING to INSTALL a OLD GAME ON WINDOWS VISTA MISSING COMPONENT WINDOWS d3drm:dll

I HAVE AN O.LD COPY OF MARTYN MYSTER OPERATION DORAN GRAY IT INSTALLS OK. WHEN I TRY AND RUN IT, IT LOADS THE TITLE SCREEN BUT THEN THE SCREEN TURNS WHITE. I TRIED SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AT USING THE PROGRAM COMPATIBILITY WIZARD, BUT THIS NO LONGER WORKS. COMPATIBILITY WIZARD COMES up to the TOP WITH LACK COMPONENT WINDOWS d3drm:d11 AND SOMETHING ABOUT VIRTOOLS PLAYER ALL IDEAS WOULD BE thank you VERY MUCH GEORGIE12
I AM RUNNING WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM

If you know the manufacturer of the game, you can try their site to see if they have a Vista patch for the game.  Some games have the protection against copying that is not compatible with Vista and you need a patch from the game manufacturer.  It is because the protection against copying of the game has been written especially for XP and will not function on Vista.  They are the only ones who can provide you with a work around if the compatibility options do not work for you.

  • Microsoft Freelancer on Windows Vista - VSync issue

I ran into a problem, try to run Freelancer (v1.0) on my new Windows Vista system.
I'm certainly not able to disable VSync, my FPS are locked at 60. There is no option ingame and I already have "Always off" VSync in my Catalyst Control Center, which worked fine on my old XP system. (I got about 170 FPS with a Dual-Core AMD at 2x2.3 GHz)
With Vsync, however, the game meets mouselag, which hardens to play.

    This is my system:
-Windows Vista Edition Home Premium 32 bit Service Pack 2
    -Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (4x2.4GHz)
-Radeon HD 4850 (with catalyst v9.6)
    -3 GB Ram

This seems to be a general problem with the games running on DirectX8 or below in Vista.

    Best regards, darealprof

    Hi darelprof,

Try to send the report x directly from your computer. That could help us.
-Click the button Save the information in the window of the Direct X Diagnostic tool.
-You can download the file on SkyDrive.
    www.SkyDrive.live.com
-After you download the file, you can paste the link in the post.

In the meantime, I suggest to create a System Restore Point and then uninstall the graphics drivers and re-install.
Also try to reinstall Direct X 10 by downloading it from the link:

    From: Gloria Coll

Anyone know where I can get a ball Pinball real good game for my PC. to buy or download. And I don't mean rubbish like master of 3D Pinball. Thank you

    From: Andy

Do a google search for "ProPinball", they have original tables that looked incredible. Here are older games, don't know what they put out recently, but I loaded "time shock ' in Vista 32 Ultimate and it worked without problems. If detailed, you can see the Pinball roller/spin, etc.
