GeForce GTX 285 and PPCS4:

Hello

I use PPCS4 on my HP z600 with 12 GB and 2 Quad Cores to 2.0 GHz.

My graphics card is NVIDIA NVS 295.

I find PPCS4 to be a bit lazy. I am strongly considering for the Geforce GTX 285. I know that the best graphics card for the Adobe software is the Quadro CX, but it's just out of my budget range for now. The Geforce GTX 285 is a good alterntiave?

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_gtx_285_us.html

Any advice would be appreciated?

Simon

Its a good card but will have very little effect if all affect in CS4.    The adobe of cuda acceleration fled is for a future version of PR.   If this isn't an emergency, you may want to wait to see specifically what that card is supported when adobe releases this sw in the future.

  • GeForce GTX 780M and After Effects

I just got a new iMac with the GeForce GTX 780 M 4 GB of VRAM, and I was hoping I could use the 3D effects of Ray-tracing. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but the option to upgrade to the GPU is grayed out. I have not installed anything except After Effects since I have the machine, so maybe I need to install CUDA? Where would I get the drivers for it so that I could try.

    Thank you

This card is not on the list of the cards tested and supported for After Effects for the GPU of the 3D rendering engine acceleration traced to the RADIUS.

If you use after effects CC (12.1), you can ignore this fact and choose the option «Enable GPU untested, unsupported...» "to try to use the card anyway. Details:

  • Mounting 4 k RED in CS6 files, means SLI help in reading and publishing? (GeForce GTX - 760 vcard)

I just bought a card GeForce GTX-760 and noticed great improvements for video playback on my old card.

I want to start edition RED 4 k files and be able to read in 4 k, currently I can get smooth playback in the resolution of 1/2, but thought if I bought a 2nd card and used SLI I'd be able to get 4 k for playback on my system... would this work?

I have done the research for this, but could not find much on the use of SLI in first CS6...

Short of getting a rocket RED, how could achieve smooth RED 4 k playback and editing in CS6?

    Thank you all!

    AZA

With CS6, you are limited to a SINGLE video card.

With CC, SLI does not help. See Page Tweakers - what video card use?

A second video card can help marginally with CC only, , but the only thing that really helps is more cores, more cache L3 and higher clock speed memory.

  • GTX 480 vs GTX 285

Regarding video cards that I don't know, says the Adobe site on the system requirements:

Supported NVIDIA graphics cards for GPU acceleration:

GeForce GTX 285 (Windows and Mac OS)

In my opinion, that they list cards can use the maximum error allowed for better display.

This is one I can afford.  However I noticed that some who have best performance machines use the 480. Why?

Wouldn't better not get this card and change the cuda_supported_cards.txt file?  I'd get as good, or even better performance than the 285?

Also the amount of memory in the card would make a difference?

    1 correct.

    2 correct. Fix. Fix.

Maybe in a year and a half the 480/470 will be much faster that the 285 can never be, due to the hearts, the memory bus and allowed it.

I wouldn't worry about the 'hack' as being unsupported by Adobe. Often, you get better support here, as some support person according to the India, which has never used the program and the only bed aloud instruction leaflets.

  • Custom CS5 build with GTX 285 for long-format 4 k projects

  • I did search non-stop for several days, and it's time to ask for your expertise.  I'd appreciate any help.

I will be ordering a new system of Production Premium CS5, and especially I use first Pro CS5 to edit projects of long duration (huge time with thousands of clips) of Red 4 k footage.  It's a feature film with only a few F / X shots, but we would like to do the same F / X, sound mixing and color correction in CS5 as possible.

    Here's what I'm thinking:

CUSTOM BUILD of CYBERPOWERPC (approximately $1950 including items are not):

    2. I liked this mobo due to the possibilities of the chipset and because it has 1394 for DV capture old.  In addition, it has 8 SATA 2.0, 3.0, 2 2 SATA. 2.0 and 2 USB 3.0 eSATA for storage huge/fast forward options.  Is there a better alternative if I'm looking forward to having at least one of each of these formats?

    3. I'm going to clone their 1 TB drive OS on a smaller 250 GB disk for use as the OS and then use their 1 TB drive, as part of a 2 TB RAID 0 video storage.  The raid of the mobo or a controller using some type of RAID virtual (like I did in Xp64) will be fine, or do I need a separate RAID controller (as if I had the end of the 1990s).

    4. What do you think of this processor and RAM for what I do?  No reason to prefer 2 Quad-Core (if two processors are even compatible with CS5)?  Please let me know if the current configuration will be trolling with huge chronologies with thousands of 4 k clips.

5 maybe I don't need the Creative sound card and could just use the mobo sounds?

    6. it will be simple for me to remove the graphics card and install a Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 myself?

    7. the Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 appears to be a good target for the GPU acceleration for me since I don't expect to have 4 + layers of videos, although I do multiple effects in 1 or 2 layers.  Would have given a Quadro FX no advantage over the GTX 285 to the huge chronologies with thousands of 4 k clips?  Or benefits for any other use?

    8. the GTX 285 has 2 DVI connectors only (more something akin to the S-video).  Can I use a DVI to my workstation and a DVI for video surveillance in real-time on a LCD TV with HDMI/DVI or professional HD video monitor.  No problem with my 4 HD real-time look at a k video / output?  What is the best configuration for your video on an external monitor?  At the time of CS2, I used a 1394 through a camcorder in a professional analog monitor, but it won't be HD, more I heard that there is a problem syncing these days.

    Thanks for your advice.

For the longer form material Red 4 K, look at 24 GB of memory, instead of 12. Also consider the i7-980 X instead of the 930, due to the load with long form projects.

Definitely get at least 3 drives additional, set apart from the OS disk and refrain from partitioning. A solid raid configuration may be wise.

  • EVGA GTX 285 Mac Edition - not OpenGL in Photoshop

Has anyone else had experience running the new GTX 285 and Photoshop CS4?

I have a Mac Pro 2008 here, RAID 0 1 to 32 GB of RAM, three screens (ATI Radeon HD 2600 line, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 drive two).

OpenGL allows to work very well with my previous card, the ATI Radeon HD 3870 - however after the GTX, Photoshop cannot detect and use OpenGL with it.

AfterEffects CS4 takes the card very well (and by that I mean in the preferences, it is listed with all the "supported").

    Any thoughts?

    Kind regards

  • Want to 750-124 HP: HP 750-124 power PCI for Geforce GTX 950 video card connection

I oened my HP Envy 750-124 to add a videocard GeForce GTX 950 and 6 pin PCI power cord to power the card could not be found. There is a PCI Express slot present on the motherboard, but no way to connect the power supply Board. So what don't understand me?  Thank you.

    You're welcome, @DFB2.

The difference in both models, is that the 700-074 craving came with an installed 460W PSU.  That might be enough to run the GTX 950 correctly.  Even some of these PSU is not additional power adapters.  It depends on a lot of other components that are installed in the computer.  Video card manufacturers give room for all situations.  Normally, I would recommend buying a PSU that is at least 100W above the manufacturer stated minimum requirements.  I hope that explains the situation better.

Here are the Product Specifications for the power supply in the 700-074:

    Form factor: ATX internal
    Total wattage: 460W
    Nominal input voltage range:
    100-127V/3A (50-60 Hz)
    200-240 v/2A (50-60 Hz)
    Dimensions: 150 x 140 x 86 mm (5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 inches)
    * This power supply has an LED to indicate a possible failure condition when the light is off and the power is connected.

  • Pavilion HPE-H8-1221: will be a job of it Gigabyte Nvidia geforce gtx 980 with the mother of HP H8-1221.

    Nice day

Looking to upgrade my Pavillion H8-1221 son with a better graphics card, currently it is running an EVGA geforce GTX 660 and we are looking for upgrade to GTX 980 it.  I was wondering if this will require an upgrade mobo as well or is the OEM card sufficient to manage this card.

    Thanks much for any help.

    SonicRising, welcome to the forum.

I don't think that the video card will work on his computer.  980ti GTX requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  The only BIOS update that is available is to win 8.  You will need to update in 8 Win.

Regarding the upgrade of the motherboard, HP has their motherboards manufactured to their specifications.  Therefore, you must buy a Board that has holes that will correspond to the accessory in the case.  In addition, connectors can be owners, and may not correspond to those of the species.

As an observation, the PC was working fine before you install the new card.

    Hello

Many of the graphics cards NVIDIA GTX 750 will not work in the HP PC that do not have a BIOS version 8.  Your PC has a BIOS version 7 and I do not expect HP to publish a version 8 BIOS for your PC.

Return the card and try one of the models that should run on a PC equipped with a legacy BIOS.
