Hello

  • If there's an error message displayed when blank DVD is inserted?

Try to remove the upper and lower filters and check if the problem persists. To do this, follow these steps:

Note: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Back-up-the-registry ) how to back up and restore the registry in Windows)

Warning: There may be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must ensure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the default data value is the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM and the class data value is CDROM.

Download Cyberlink Power DVD10 and save it to the desktop, not in a temporary folder

    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp53001-53500/sp53029.ex

After it's over, do a right click and go to properties and you should see what is in the screenshot.

There has been many problems with software programs of virus blocking critical files in the player (s) Blu - ray. For the most part, disable the antivirus or programs was sufficient, but with McAfee, it had to be completely uninstalled. If at this point, uninstall your antivirus software, no matter what it is, and if there is a special tool required by the developer to uninstall properly, use their tool when it will exist. I know Norton and, possibly, Avira requires an uninstall tool.

Once it is uninstalled restart your laptop and you will get the warning typical of Windows that the world will come to an end to crash, because you do not have an anti virus program on your computer. Just ignore it and continue with the installation of power DVD10, note that it is important that you stay connected to the internet, the software to install correctly. The link is directly from the view of HP it is has no viruses, Trojans etc attached.

After it is done installing, restart your machine. This is important.

After the restart, go to control panel, then Auto Play and make sure power DVD10 is chosen for Blu - ray discs, if it has not been chosen click the menu drop down and choose to do and save the setting. Restart your computer and go back to auto play and make sure that the setting has been saved.

Then, open the drawer of the DVD/Blu-ray with the button on the front of the drawer itself and leave the charge for Blu - ray automatically with the opening of Cyberlink DVD 10

At this point, you can reinstall your anti virus software if the drive Blu - ray continues to work then you will have to go into the advanced settings and find which files are blocked in the drive and let them. It's not always easy, so I advise to use ESET (not free) or Microsoft Security Essentials (free). I have used in the past and they never gave me any problems with my Blu - ray players.

  • Windows does not recognize a blank disc in the DVD player.

When you try to burn a CD and have a blank CD - R into the DVD player, I get 'Windows cannot read the disk in drive D ". I tried other discs and DVD, but it seems that Windows does not recognize a blank disc. I have another DVD drive and the same is true here as well.  I tried to update the drivers and deactivation and reactivation of readers but nothing is done. However, CDs or DVDs with the content are recognized.

I had the same problem on Windows 7 32-bit (suspect this fix as well under Vista). After trying everything under the Sun entered Services (search for programs and files, type 'Services') and looked "Shell Hardware Detection. Found that it was disabled (not sure how he got that way). Right-click on it to get the properties. Change startup type to "Automatic", press apply then OK. Problem solved without even having to restart!

  • How to get a DVD player to play jpg files (pictures) engraved on DVD

I have 2800 weird pictures (JPGs) coming to a little more than 4 GB. I have them numbered Filename (10001) and following, such as recommended on another thread on this site. Using of Windows on a new DVD burner laptop computer that is running Windows 7 and ensure that I selected the format of the ISO image before burning, I burned the files on DVD discs.

I tried DVD + R and DVD-R, but my DVD player does not recognize them as DATA disks. When I go to the photo Navigation, it loads sometimes 3 pictures sometimes more, and then freezes.

My DVD player is a Sony DVP-NS39 bought in May 2009 and fortunately displays photos (jpg) files burned toCD s, but also to play happily on the movies.

Is a nice person out there able to tell me where I'm wrong?

    Thank you very much

I downloaded the software (which looks just like the other burning programs, I tried - but I thank you for this kind) but always with the same result. Either way, it cannot be the number of files ' cos I tried with just a couple of hundreds and got the same result!

I'll assume my Player DVD has a gremlin and try the disc on the drive of a friend in the next few days. Will let you know the results...

Well... I thought it was worth the try. You would certainly
Think that a JPEG compatible DVD player would recognize JPEG
    photos.

Perhaps the DVD player only works for individual photos
When it is burned on a CD. Check your manual for the it
    may provide.

Maybe a DVD must be a movie file. Maybe you could
create a video slide show with DVD Maker. (I could be
wrong, but I think someone told me that it was limited to 999
    photos)

  • Get the DVD Maker to recognize pictures moved to a new folder in the form of files

I moved (not copied) a few photos in a new folder, ready to burn to a DVD using DVD creation.
I can't get the DVD Maker to recognize and accept the photos in the new folder, I am told that the file does not exist.

    Hello

    1. How did you move the files?
    2. don't cut and paste the files into a new folder?

By default, images are stored or saved in the photo examples. When you try to add the section on creating Windows DVD and navigate to the new folder.
Do you see the empty folder, or you see the files, but get an error message when trying to add pictures for example files?

We recommend that you run the creation of DVD Windows as an administrator and check the result. To do this, follow these steps.
    1. click on start, type create dvd windows, right-click on the creation of Windows DVD and click Run as administrator.
    2. click Add and navigate to the correct folder where files are saved.
    3. just above the Cancel button, click the menu drop down and select all files (*. *) to see all the files available in the file.

  • Try to burn a CD. The system will not recognize the blank disc or let me burn__

Try to burn a CD. The system will not recognize the blank disc or let me burn... says there is no disc inserted

    Hello

Have you tried to close all programs and then insert the disc? Restart the 1st and then try it.

    If no joy:

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
    the question.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and

  • Satellite A100-447 - DVD player does not read some discs

    Hello

    I have a 4 month old Satellite 100-447 (PSAAN), came preloaded with Vista Home Premium and a carpet * CD/DVD super-multi UJ-850 s player.

The DVD player does not work properly. It will recognize a few blank, but never DVD-R DVD and won't recognise any DVD at all serious. He is very good with CD and DVD movie discs. It's just recordable DVD where there is a problem.

Also when you try to write to a DVD, when he chooses to recognize a TI-error in half way through.

    What can I do?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

    You can do the follwowing:

    Go to this website http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp,

Download the latest update of the firmware for this drive, install it, and then try again.

Sometimes, the manufacturer must update their readers for the newer recordable media and so I think that it is possible that your drive is simply not up to date.

  • DVD player continues to 'see' the disc that was removed

I downloaded a free video player to play a dvd of an old movie family (Windows Media doesn't play) and when you're done, I removed the dvd from the drive.  I have two disk drives, both will play cd or dvd and it will burn.  I loaded a different dvd to access the old pictures and everytime I try to access, the computer shows that the files of the old family movie DVD is in the drive.  That is, the player no longer recognizes the new dvd and continues instead to 'think' the older video is in the drive.  I uninstalled the video player software.  I have cd of music will play in the drive, but the different dvd does not get recognized.  Y at - it a fix for this conflict?

  • DVD Player Toshiba laptop not recognizing discs

My DVD player portable Toshiba Satellite M300 no longer recognizes discs.  When a disc is inserted, the player turns on but does not recognize that a disk has been inserted.  I have read that it is a problem with the installation of the Vista SP2 but unable to find a solution.  Can anyone help?

It is unlikely to be caused by the software (Windows), but is much more likely to be an optical drive down (hardware). Try to start with a bootable CD/DVD, your installation of Vista/recovery DVD for example (do not run recovery!) or a Linux Live CD. If the reader does not recognize the drive outside of Windows you will know for sure that the material is bad. Contact Toshiba technical support for replacement in this case. • My DVD player is not reading/burning discs.

    Hello

    I have a "Optiarc DVD RW AD-5260 s ATA Device ', it is my only drive (it's a drive D :).
Recently, I asked problems with it.
When I put in any disc (today I tried 4 discs, they were; 2 games: C & C Renegade + CoD WaW, 2 movies: Casino Royale + the last King of Scotland).
There is a sound that resembles 2 whirs short in the second, then nothing happens.
I already tried uninstalling the drive through Device Manager"and still nothing.
I also used "Microsoft Fix It" and he said that the media in the drive is not readable "."

Head to your Big Box/Dollar store and buy a cleaning CD. They are cheap as chips and work well for cleaning the drive laser lens. They get dirty after a time and do much better when cleaned on a regular basis. I do with my computers, players, blu-ray dvd player when they act to the top and it helps.

    I hope this helps.
