Graphic driver on Satellite Pro U200 (Vista Business 32 bit CZECH)

I have two problems with my gfx driver.

(1) for the recovery of the mode standby, the screen goes to 1024 x 768 instead of going back to 1280 x 800
(2) for playback of Lineage 2, the game crashes to the desktop and I get the error message "display driver igfx stopped responding and was recovered. After Googling a bit, I found a new display driver for my Intel 945GM Express would solve the problem. So I downloaded the correct driver from intel.com but I can't install it. I get an error message saying "driver is not verified for this computer. Ask the manufacturer of the computer for the correct driver. So I went to the toshiba site and I downloaded the driver appropriate to go there (well, toshiba.com is not the last, intel.com has a more recent version). But when I tried to install it, I got the message that my computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installation! What does that mean?! I have read the readme file and my laptop has certainly meets the requirements, in addition to the driver, I downloaded to work for Satellite Pro U200, because I have entered all the necessary information to download the driver.

If can please someone solve my problem? And if not, is it a toshiba support hotline or something where I can call?

Yes, I agree entirely with snipe. In such situations, I do the following:

Backup of my data-> recover my machine-> install the latest drivers and software including all the tools-> see what happens ;)
And then work with the machine...

I like computer systems...: D

See you soon

  • Set password Linux ATA hard drive / Toshiba Satellite Pro U200

Sorry for the long post, but I want to be as specific as possible:

    1)
I use a Toshiba Satellite Pro U200 under Linux (OpenSUSE) for some years now. Works fine without problems so far, even the fingerprint reader works. I deleted and never used the Windows XP preinstalled.

For security reasons, I have now decided to put a HDD ATA password, in case the laptop is lost or stolen (changed drive for a disk Seagate Momentus 7200 FDE.2 SATA II with full encryption of the disk material).

In order to get the protection offered by the full disk encryption, I need to set a password for the ATA. During startup, the Bios must request the password and unlock the drive only when the password is correct.

    2)
My problem is: in the Toshiba laptop it is impossible to set the hard drive ATA password directly in the bios (as is possible in HP laptops, for example). Toshiba there is only one way to set the password to disk, which is a software utility for Windows XP (named 'Assist'). But I don't want to change the operating system only to set this password.

    3)
Therefore, I tried the linux instructions

    hdparm - user-master m - security-all-pass SecretMasterPassword/dev/sda
    hdparm - user-master u - security-all-pass SecretUserPassword/dev/sda

which are used for adjustment ATA passwords. Indeed, at first, it seems to work very well. The password is set and the drive is locked.

    4)
When I restart the laptop, the Bios the HDD password request, as it should do.

But he does not accept the SecretUserPassword prior to seizure. The answer is "wrong password", or similar.

    5)
    Analysis:

I have no doubt that the password has been set correctly: I checked by restarting the laptop through rescue DVD in linux and unlock the disc via

    hdparm - user-master u - safety - unlock SecretUserPassword/dev/sda

in order to use it. No problem, it works as supposed to. After the release, the disc is usable as usual. And I can also disable the password via

    hdparm - user-master u - security - disable SecretUserPassword/dev/sda

After you disable the password, the laptop starts normally again, but I have no password.

When I re-enable the password bios Toshiba again asks the password during initialization, but does not accept the (correct) password on entry.

    6)
Does anyone have an explanation for this behavior?

Bios Toshiba has somehow changes the password entered by the user, before being sent to the disk? I think that this would be inconsistent with the ATA standard.

Anyone managed to set/change the password to ATA in a way that the disc can be unlocked via the internal order of the Bios, without installation of Windows XP and the Toshiba Software 'Assist '?

Thanks for reading this long post so far. Any response is welcome.

  • Need a graphic driver for Satellite Pro L10 to play Caesar IV

I have problems with the chart to a new game (Caesar IV) element on my laptop. The game requires "hardware T & L" for 3D graphics, but the forum games tells me that computers laptops with the chipsets are not configured to run these types of games. Apparently I need a graphics card any.

I don't understand why my (relatively) new Centrino laptop with a processor is unable to use the graphic chipset.

Where can I find a driver for the type of chart using my game?

    Hello

I think that the Caesar IV is a game that requires a graphics card with better performance than the Intel 855GM graphics card with 16 MB to 64 MB shared memory.

The game asks for the graphics card with graphical support entirely in 3D and in my opinion the laptop card is not able to support these graphics to full power.

I put t know if the driver update will help you.
It s more case of hardware as a software issue

  • No sound on my toshiba satellite pro with Vista Business OPS

After the most recent update of Microsoft I had no audio output of the computer, not even with headphones. would it be due to a faulty update or do I need a new sound card?
    Thank you

    Hello

    A. did you disconnect the speakers and check it out?

    B. who is the manufacturer of your computer?

Let us try the following methods.

    Method 1

The link below talking about the same error message. Open the link and click the Fix It button which can fix some problems related to the sound.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/948481

If the method above doesn't, proceed to the next method.

    Method 2

Make sure that the default sound device is set correctly for the audio device you are using. To set the default device, follow these steps:

    1. Click on start toreduce this includes this image, type Sound in the box start the search .
    2. Click on his research at the top of the Start menu.
    3. Click the reading notice the check mark next to the default device. For most users, the default device is speakers. Make sure that the audio settings are configured as expected. Follow these steps:

    a. on the read tab, select the playback device, click Properties, click the Advanced tab and make sure that the default Format is set to the value you expect. When you are finished, close this window to return to the previous window.

    b. on the read tab, select the playback device, click set upand make sure that the configurations are set correctly.

    1. Select the audio device you want the default audio device, and then click set as default.
    2. Click OK to save your settings and close the dialog box.

Determine if you can now hear. If you can hear the noise, the problem is resolved. If you don't hear sound, try Method 3.

    Method 3

Try to perform a system restore and check whether the problem is resolved.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-system-restore

    Method 4

    Uninstall display drivers and reinstall.

    1. click onpieS.

2 type devmgmt.msc in the search box.

    3. expand game controllers and video, sound, and right-click on the driver and uninstall.

Try to restart your computer and check, because the drivers will be automatically reloaded.

  • Satellite Pro U200: Display Resolution changed to 1024 x 768, after sleep (Vista)

I have some problems with my Satellite Pro U200 (WinVista, BIOS 3.50, Display Driver 7.14.10.1217).

After the exit mode standby, the display shows the correct resoluion of 1280 x 800 for a second and then goes to 1024 x 768. It's very annoying.

I tried to uninstall / reinstall the display driver, but it did not help.

    Does anyone have an idea?

Well, I remember a similar problem happened on U200 with Windows XP and Windows XP MCE.
The update of the graphics to the version 6.14.10.4543 driver has solved this strange switching

Maybe the next update of the graphics card driver will clear this issue

    Hey Buddy,

    > Location: 3 PCI Bus, device 11, function 2
To be honest, this information is not useful
You should check the vendor and device IDS in the devices in the Device Manager.

At the present time it is difficult to tell what device it is, but you should try to install the card reader driver. Visit the Web from Toshiba for this!

  • Satellite Pro U200 - installing the audio driver on Win XP

I have a Satellite Pro U200 and there is no sound - sound fine when attached to the DynaDock, but not when its autonomous.

Device Manager there down as an existing audio device - I downloaded the driver audio from Toshiba Web site but when I try and install it says "the HD Audio bus driver is required and not found" I did a little research and found in necessary MS hotfix KB888111 which I installed it, but the audio driver will not even install - ideas?

Windows XP must install patch KB888111 and KB835221 MS site before installing the audio driver.

-so finally you need to install the two patches
-Download Realtek audio driver from the Realtek page
-remove the old driver its the laptop restart of Device Manager and install the new audio driver download

  • Satellite Pro U200 - hard drive upgrade

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro U200-128 and you want to upgrade the hard drive. I can't find detailed specifications to show me the compatibility, drive type and therefore the size of a disc that I can buy.
I think that its SATA, but there is a lot of info on SATAII, not sure if it will work in my model?

    Any help appreciated

    Hi ollieg72,

You re right. Satellite Pro U200 already uses the HARD drive with SATA interface if you need a HARD SATA 2.5. In addition, it should be possible to use every ability because on SATA interface, there is no capacity limit.

Anyway, SATAII HDD is also working because they are compatible to the old interface of SATA1 downgrade. So it makes no difference if the HDD is SATAII interface or not. ;)

Model No.: Satellite Pro U200 PLUA1E
    OS: Vista Business SP2

Try to update the BIOS to v3.70

When I run P0044v370, I get a Windows Script Host message:

I want to update the BIOS before the upgrade from 1 GB to 4 GB of memory. Also my U200 Pro keeps crashing and whenever before it restarts, I get a message saying something like "try to install the latest version of the BIOS" (it is not on the screen very long sorry can't be more accurate).

I don't have have the recovery CD, I'm trying to boost performance because it runs very slowly.

Everything is - I am in your forum people good hands! Thanks in advance.

You have what Windows OS installed.
    It is Win XP?

Update the BIOS needs an installation of the common Modules, so don't forget not that the common Modules are installed or this software update.
The CM is on the page of the European driver Toshiba

In addition, the P0044v370.exe unpacks the package I recommend creating a folder on the desktop and to decompress the files in P0044v370.exe first. Then move to this new folder and run the exe file in the folder.

Before you start installing the new driver remove the old. You can do this in the properties of the device in Device Manager.

I did it with my Vista preinstalled Satellite A200 (also with the Intel graphics card).
