• The file size is huge despite the linked files

  Hi, I met a very strange thing.

  I am just placing some raster files in my illustration. I have always used the link option, because I keep my files in good condition and I really like the small files. (The contrary would be the Embed option, which saves the content placed in the file have.)

  But, despite a link to raster instead of embed files, my file have size gets really huge with the placed content. As a general rule, 80 MB with three raster images placed. It includes of course placed in any case files. And they are recorded in a sort of uncompressed format, too; the actual jpg file weigh only about 3 MB in total.

  Even more strange is the fact that if I move the content placed outside my work plan, the size of the file down again normal values (usually 600 kB). Means that the file size is something to do with the preview of the file or something, which (I think) is limited to the artboard.

  This has never been the case with Illsutrator before, has it?

  Is this really how Illustrator should behave, or I have some very odd here?

  InDesign handles content exactly how I like it: no incorporation of all.

  It is the ability to save a PDF compatible file that incorporates the images.

• Creation of objects which are based in what is the size?

  Is it possible to mix objects compared to the size? I'm looking to achieve this (see image below). the triangles on the bottom is bigger and more "BOLD", and as you move upward, it begins to decrease in height.

  You have shown what are your results, but your description of what you did and what you want is vague.

  You say you want to mix the two triangles have their widths to change and their heights remain the same? If so, then simply pull the two main objects in this way:

  1 draw the big triangle in horizontal orientation, like the triangle below on the displayed image.

  2. the duplicate. It was the duplicate to where you want the highest triangle.

  3. Select both. Create the mixture with the desired number of steps.

  4 white pointer: select the upper triangle. Select the far right anchorPoint and move it to the left.

  If the image depicts no unintended outcomes, but what you're trying to accomplish, then do the same thing, but also to change the height of the object higher key of the mixture. (Select just its two anchorPoints left and their scale).

  You could also do this same thing, creating a triangle pointing to the right brush, drawing two lines open to different lengths, then mix the two paths:

  1. the rectangle tool: click (don't drag). Specify a square.

  2. double-click on the rotation tool. Rotate the square 45 degrees.

  3. less than the pen tool: click on the leftmost anchorPoint to remove.

  4. slide the triangle from the palette shapes. Define an Artbrush with its head pointing to the right.

  5 line tool: Shift drag to create a horizontal path length of the larger rectangle.

  6 duplicate the path. Drag it to where you want the upper triangle upward.

  7. apply the triangular brush on both paths.

  8. create the mixture with the desired number of steps.

  9 WhitePointer: Select the upper triangle (object key). Select the anchorpoint right to change its width.

  10 change the weight of the race to set the 'weight' of the triangle (indeed, its height.) Similarly adjust the weight of the race of the triangle below.

• How * not * include size STROKE in the transform palette?

  Hell, how to explain this...

  In CS5 when I did (for example) a rectangle of 44 in. x 94.5 in with the rectangle tool by clicking and entering values, it could appear as exactly that in the transform palette. Now when I do a 44 "x 94.5" using the same method, the info in the said transform palette "44.0278 x 94.5278. He is the thickness of the line somehow. I can tell by the fact that when I increase the size of the stroke in the stroke palette, the size is changed accordingly in the transform palette.

  Next: If I do something to an object, and then click the arrow tool, the swatch thingies on top do not appear until I click the object again.  I can't think for example at the moment and I don't have Illustrator open to try.  But often, that I don't know about this.

  Where and what you click? If you mousedown choose a distance to an anchorPoint and drag, you will take the anchorPoint. If you mousedown on the filling of a path and drag, you select and drag all the way. If you mousedown on a line segment which has not extended handle and drag, you slide the two anchorpoints associated with this segment (and therefore drag the "segment"). If you mousedown on a curve segment and drag, you will bend the curve.

  The above assumes that the path is not initially selected.

  Since its first being added there are several versions of the control panel (at the top of the document window) has been chronically plagued with an update failure. It fails often reflect the changes to the units of the rule and several other things. I do not trust it. I continue to report on individual pallets on my second monitor.

• Group incoming Boolean data in groups of two

  I ve 4 digital bits data (boolean) inheriting the DAQmx permanently and I need aggregate data in groups of two, concatenate the elements in the Group and convert it to ascii charaters and view. I m not getting much idea as to what to do, to implement this.

  Data flow: 4,8,6, F, 2, 0, 3, 5... etc.

  data groups: 48, 6F, 20 etc.

  Need help with the grouping of items. I don't think that store in an array is gona help me, coz I have to display the ascii charater as soon the data in his group arrives. That is to say if 48 is 'H', I need to display 'H' as soon 4 8 arrives, grouping them, similarly to 6F to be converted into 'o' and so on.

• I don't know how to change the size and quality of the text on the screen on Windows 7

  I just installed a new Windows 7 but I don't know how to change the size and quality of the text on the screen.  I tried all the things normal, resolution, size of icons, dpi etc but nothing gives me what I want.  The text in clear 'wonderful' thing is just terrible.  When I go through the 4 steps I see no text boxes which make the text nothing better.  All options are terrible, so the result on screen is too terrible.  When I do any huge I do not get a full screen of things - view the Start button disappears or I did not closing small cross at the top - of the suggestions to inprove the situation?  I must mention that my screen/monitor is 2006 - I need to buy a new one?  How much is this Windows 7 is going to cost me, or maybe I should go back to XP!

  I sincerely thank all you smart "technicians" for all the answers you always gave myself and all others who ask questions.  I'm not too smart with all this new technology as I fell into it very late.  I am now in my 60s and only started using a pc when I was over 50 years so...  In any case, I asked a question about the size of screen resolution and text and received much good advice from all that you guys.  I had recently changed in XP to Windows 7.  However, the bit of advice that I was given in 'Cyberking' here at the Portugal had set the resolution of the screen, the advanced settings, 75 to 60 Hertz Monitor tab.  Very basic, and the first question asked the technician (Lady) was "what size is your screen?  Naturally as a smaller screen that any 'techno' would be considered dead aid, solving the problem was simple and straightforward without me having to stretch my knowledge and my skills by downloading all programes weird (to me) or do the funny stuff in the bios or something else.  I send this comment to you for you to realize that the simple solution is not always bad and maybe we should go for the easiest first and then work up to the more difficult ones.

  Just for you all to see - now my screen resolution is perfect, the text on the screen is clear and legible without difficulty, even though the size of text and icon is small.  Clarity is all!

  in the directory, the file names are much too small.  You want to change font Times New Roman 12, for everything.  Expansion to 124% does not affect the file names.  Don't want to pay for the update driver software as it will not fix this.

  I'm not on my machine to win 8 to check right now, but if you right click the desktop, then select the screen resolution, you should see 'Make text and other items larger or smaller'

  Click on it... and down the middle of the screen that opens, you should see a drop down for different types of text (icons and etc..). There is also a menu next to him where you can set the font size for the different types of windows, icons and etc...

  I don't think that there is an option to select the Types of fonts such as Times Roman, for example, but there could be...

• recent switcher FCP w / two small questions

  Hey guys. New convert to the first CS6 of FCP 7. Overall, the switch is OK, but two things me are shifted upward and I was wondering if there might be easy solutions, I'm just missing. I tried to search but they are few enough specific questions and I have not been able to find something, so I was hoping someone here might be able to help.

  (1) crash when pushing. Pushing a lot in FCP (and Avid before that), I used (i.e. use ">, < ' keys to move a clip frame by frame when selected, or option + ' > / < ' first). Here's my problem: in Avid and final cut PRO when you uttered a clip to the point that it struck another clip on the track, the repositioning would stop. Meanwhile, in the first, the selected clip continues going, replacing the clip not selected by the selected. Which is annoying for me. It was nice to know the program had my back and would prevent me from when I would hit a wall vs duty sctrutinize each time to make sure I'm not crush something. Is there a way to change this replaces the behavior of the function of boost in first. Or it's just something I have to get used to?

  (2) the deselection of individual clips when using track selection. Sometimes when you use the track select to select all the clips before or after the playhead, you accidentally select a track that you don't want to move (like a piece of music bg). FCP, I could order just click on this specific item to turn it off and all the rest would remain selected. Meanwhile in the first he does not seem to change the selection of the track once you did. Am I missing something? Or is it just another difference that I'll have to get used to?

  First of all, as a former editor-in-Chief of the FCP myself, you will find that everything is in the same way. I trained on Avid, Media 100, final cut PRO, and now Premiere Pro. If you went on the road, I did, you will find a number of things just doesn't work the same way and you will have to live with the differences.   You will have to get used to. What you might try is to close the gap and then move backward.

  Try Shift + click instead of command + click.

• How to mix two AIArt objects

  I'm trying to mix two AIArt objects (two rectangles created using kPathArt type), but obviously, I'm not able to identify the appropriate SDK functions. I need to get the same result with the SDK I would be with manually by selecting these two rectangles and implementing the object-> mix-> Make. Thanks in advance.

  There is more information than PARM errors, but there is no way to get more than one error PARM. As I'm sure is obvious, he dislikes one of the settings - it can be things like feeding a kGroupArt or a kSymbolArt to manage when its waiting for a kPathArt, for example.   Looking at the documentation, it feels like most of the settings are pretty simple in a matter of two-way boring. If you are passing a pair of normal no composite paths then the most likely cause will be (a) installData or (b) clientCallback. But it feels like it must be right or it would fail to compile so I'd look more close to installData - I noticed is not documented (well, the parameter is not, the struct is). installData doesn't seem too bad either frankly well. If you don't start by feeding something really vanilla, I would do that first. Once you have verified for yourself that he is working in a gesture of boring case on more interesting cases.

Chrome and Internet Explore work very well... If you can not fix it I will switch to one of them... It is VERY annoying

  Works fine in safe mode. Cache and cookies have been of any help. But when I turned off AVG Do not track it loaded the Facebook Add and seems to work fine... Thank you very much
