Guaranteed repair problems

I have problems with the Toshiba Service Agents in the United Kingdom.

I bought a Satellite L450D just before Christmas at Amazon. Everthing was OK for a couple months off, then I started having problems with the battery on the laptop. Even if the battery is fully charged when the computer was turned off the battery run completely within 12-24 hours.

I've notified Toshiba of the fault and received their authorized agents more information to the United Kingdom. They quickly organized collection off the laptop computer and via online repair tracking, I could see the fault was confirmed and ordered a new PCB. This has been made and the laptop was returned. However when the laptop has been delivered it proved to still be defective. I informed the service agent again who organize the collection. Once again via their online service repair that I could see that the fault was again confirmed however they then proceed to order and change the PCB even twice. Laptop was returned again with the same defect.

Laptop has now been defective for more than a month and Service agent has now changed the same PCB 3 times which did not correct the fault.

Toshiba have only 1 level of service to the United Kingdom.

It was my first laptop and I'm totally fed up with it, it is possible to recover your money from Toshiba.

I'm really sorry to hear about all this. What to say?
If you wish to contact another Toshiba service provider visit Toshiba support page
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > download & support > find an ASP.
You will find the addresses and telephone numbers of all the service providers in the United Kingdom.

I hope you have better luck next time.

  • Satellite C650-17Z: (new!) startup repair problem

A few weeks ago, I used the Toshiba restore disk to fix my laptop to its original state. However, I have now faced a similar problem. I have shut down prematurely on startup 'Starting Windows' screen, which then caused the Startup Repair to launch when I rebooted my laptop a few hours later.

What could be the results if the startup repair does not fix anything, since there is no set system restore points.

    Hello

Wait a second time: your ad is a bit confusing

This means every time on starting Windows screen, the computer stops and the next time you get message startup repair or what exactly?

Hmm, what other programs and drivers that you installed after recover installation?

You can start Windows in safe mode?

  • Guaranteed repair information

    Hello

I bought a Toshiba Satellite model laptop PSAF6A-02H01N, serial number 87068917Q from a local retailer in September 2007.

Unfortunately, she suffers issues less than a year after I bought it in more often from the manufacturer warranty Toshiba has stopped.

I myself remember to return the product to the retailer I bought while it was still under warranty Toshiba (until September 2008) when a question arised and she was told that she was sent to the Ferntree Gully (iirc) service centre to be repaired.

When he returned, it worked fine (for a short period)-I have no problem with Toshiba.

My problem is that I have no paper of this inspection/repair file (the seller doesn't help) and I have no idea of what has been fixed with my computer.

Unfortunately, the laptop (that I was happy with and need to work and study) continued to suffer ongoing problems, to the point where I have had for 1 week only in the past 20 years, is currently served and "waiting for parts" for 6 weeks and I have tired it's understandable.

My problem now is your Toshiba dealer who sold me my computer in 2007 (and my camera is still + just + extended warranty) is to be completely useless. He came to the point where I wish to involve the Consumer Affairs Department, and I would like to have all the information available to them.

I'm not asking / waiting for Toshiba to come and take over my computer repair - I want just a piece of paper manufacturer approved = service form, or even to simply be told what was fixed, from a past period.

As I said above, I have no paper or an oral account of the inspection/repair company sometime between 2007 and 2008 while my camera was under warranty Toshiba and I'd like to get it. Can someone help or help direct me to a service that will help me?

    Thank you a lot =)

    @ spin off

Hmmmm... How to help now? He did a long time ago and I'm afraid it's too late now m.
Why you didn t clarify immediately after you get your laptop?

In my opinion, it is not so important now what has been done in the past. You should see what can be done now. If you need professional assistance contact Toshiba service provider directly. You n t need to contact your local dealer.

    @ clauicc

Warrany will probably not valid anymore. If you need to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider you will find the address on http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > find an ASP.

I have an acer aspire 5920 equipped Windows vista and only recently, it has had problems with the start up. whenever I turn on the laptop Startup Repair guard arise and checks the system for problems. After a few minutes its says "windows cannot repair this computer automatically" and "If you have recently attached a device to this computer, like camera or portable music player, remove it and then restart your computer...". "When I cliquerai finish it again the whole process.
I tried running on safe reboot of the last good configuration mode. and it starts repairing appears again.
    Help, please. Thank you.

As the system restore does not work, try this:

As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the link provided and make a bootdisk of it.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It's a very good Vista repair disc.

You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

There is not a disk of resettlement.

And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

Hello, HP Pavilion dv6 starts to start normally or Startup Repair request. Results of normal boot BSOD too fast to read.

Startup Repair in execution, but 13 hours still not repaired. What should I do? My computer knowledge is poor in good conditions, but I'm at the point of turning into an expensive Frisbee. The fact that I have to use this UM netbook that will soon be a Frisbee is driving me crazy!

It's a venerable laptop purchased Feb 2010. It is a Pavilion DV6 (model DV6-2005-TX) running windows 7 Home premium (32 bit) and updates only did a request from Microsoft, so are a lot of patches and fixed security.

Help will be very humbly and grovellingly welcome.

    Hello

The error code is different from the first, it is still a short drive self test failed and confirms that the drive must be replaced.

A brief overview of how to replace the hard drive is detailed below.

The player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.

    Hard drive 500 GB

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 53 of your & Maintenance Guide.

Once this is done, simply use your recovery DVD to reinstall the operating system on the new drive - this is described in the document of HP here.

If you do not have your recovery discs, you can order a replacement set using the link below.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

Now whenever my computer starts, it goes to the start screen for repair. I use the F8 option on reboot, but it always ends up back here. All proposals/solutions would be great.

I tried to run several test to cehck if there is no hardware problem, but all the tests said no... tried something advanced startup repair, something called something memtest and also seatool if I remember correctly...

Then I found some info on the use of cmd with commands like bootrec.exe... didn't work so I tried a last thing before that wierder

Is my last resort completely re-installing windows vista? I can't go directly to windows 7 same with my computer in this State? and always keep my files in c: drive?

    Please help... Thank you

Yes. Here's how to recover data from a disk hard when you can't get to Windows:

1 remove the drive and put it in a box of USB drive or use a USB adapter. Attach it to a computer that is running a working XP/Vista/Windows7 installation. Use the work of Windows Explorer to copy the data to the hard drive of the system to the rescue and burn data on cd or dvd, or copy it to an external hard drive. I prefer not to do it if I know the drive is infected because he has a chance to infect your host system. In these cases, I use #2 below.

    2. you can start the computer target with a Bart PE (XP only) or Linux Livecd such as Knoppix or Ubuntu and retrieve the data in this way. This has the additional advantage to tell you if the problems you are experiencing are hardware or software related because if the computer behaves perfectly in Linux, you know that Windows (software) is the culprit. Conversely, if the computer behaves badly under Linux, you will know that there is a hardware problem. This is general information on the use of Knoppix for the recovery of data when you do not have Windows:

You will need a computer with two cd records, one of which is an engraver of CD/DVD OR a USB thumb drive with enough capacity to contain your data OR an external USB hard drive. Download Knoppix .iso image file and create your bootable CD *. If you do this in a previous (XP or Vista) operating system, you will need the third burning like Nero, Roxio or freeImgBurn software (Windows 7 can burn .isos natively). Burn as an image, not in the form of data. Then boot with the CD that you created and the Windows files will be visible under Linux. If you want to burn CD/DVD, there will be a Linux burning program to use.

    * If your computer has only an optical drive and you want to use this drive to burn data or need to test drive, you can create a USB bootable Linux instead of a bootable CD. This site will show you how to do it-http://www.pendrivelinux.com

  • For Windows vista: Startup Repair couln t repair problem

I am trying to repair a laptop from a friend, but I'm new to this kind of thing and it's a problem starting. I don't think I have a hardware problem because I have the video but I can't load the operating system and I ranstartup repair, but he could not fix the problem. I received this message:

Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically

    Signature of the problem:
    Problem event name: StartupRepairV2

    ""10: 0.

The problem started when my friend has installed updates, unfortunately I do not know what they are, and she said that she did not bring any modification other than recently. If you need more info I can try to help, but I'm kinda at a loss of what to do something without possible srewing up.

What is the startup problem?  Are there any error messages, and if so what is the EXACT text (including all codes)?  Which version of Vista is?

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

If this does not work, try to start in safe mode (repeatedly hit F8 key so that the start and go in safe mode with networking).  Then we will check some of your system files:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to solve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a cause.

If it does not, then thanks for posting any repetitive error message in Event Viewer on startup (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / Event Viewer).  Here's how to use Event Viewer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html.

If this does not work, you will need to do a repair/system upgrade using the Windows Vista Installation disc authentic (you own or that you can borrow from someone).  Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html.  Although this will not affect your data, settings or programs, you should always back up your data before you start just be on the safe side. If other procedures do not work, it is almost certain to work.  You can have a lot of updates to re - install (including all you need to remove service packs).  If the version on system with SP1 or SP2 preinstalled cane and the disc is an earlier version, then you will need to do a slipstream drive as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/151606-vista-sp1-slipstream-installation-dvd.html.

I hope one of these procedures can solve your problem.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try something else.  Return message anyway so we know how it turns out.

    Good luck!

  • F8 repair problem: unable to complete repair using Recovery Console

    Hello

    I have a Dell Inspiron 518 with vista 64-bit

Well the problem is when I reboot and press F8, select repair all I get is a black screen. Everything goes ever further

I have no problem loading my computer actually to use it fully, I want to just restore it to the factory image until I give it to my brother to do as I had when I bought loads

Im trying to avoid the reformatting & vista installation because id rather use my dell factory image but I can't access it if I can't repair

is their anything I can do to make it work?

If it comes to the access method for the recovery on your System Partition, you must contact the manufacturer for assistance - it's their process and not Microsoft.  We have no information about how it works or a way to help you with what's their problem (it is not just at our disposal).

I'm sorry, we can not be more help, but I'm sure the manufacturer can help you.  If it can not be recovered, the manufacturer can sell you a set of recovery (at a modest price) disks to accomplish the same task, a way of ddifferent (which you should have to explain to them until they get the phone is turned off).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Meeting place of Dell Pro 8 (DVP8) Windows 8.1 repair problem

    Hello

I have a DVP8 that needs to be repaired using a repair disk.  The problem is that I don't have a cable that will allow the fixing of the ERD and have the DVP8 to be trendy (required) at the same time.  Does anyone know of a cable that will be connected to a repair disc and be connected to an electrical outlet at the same time, this system?  I see that there is a cable adapter OTG USB 3-in-1 (Micro USB Hub via Amazon) available but do not know if it is compatible with this system.  Thanks for your time.

    AStephen

I don't think that the adapter identified by you will work, as the DV8P do not accept the data and power at the same time without special configuration and/or technology.

However, other products are around this same will work to provide power and data to the DV8P at the same time - the + Port (also available via Amazon.com) and the Vener8.

And, Dell has launched its own adapter cable power + data simultaneously, available on its Web site (and recently with night free shipping, probably useful for you) and at a price much lower than the competitors above.   (You can check Dell discount coupons for your purchase - there was just a 10% Dell voucher (expired a few days ago).)  Also, even if the Web site currently shows 5-7 business days for shipping, people actually received their orders in 2 days or less of the command - pretty amazing.)

    http://Accessories.us.Dell.com/SNA/ProductDetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&CS=19&SKU=470-ABES&baynote_bnrank=0&baynote_irrank=0& ~ CK = baynoteSearch & dgc = CJ & cid = 47997 & lid = 4279734 & acd = 10550055-4485850-eb75dcb47e53437680ed323a1f4885fe

One thing: I don't know what your repair disk support is on.  If a flash drive, there should be no problem with the foregoing.  If a portable hard drive that is powered via the USB port of the Tablet, the DV8P maybe isn't able to provide enough power to run the portable hard drive (it is a specific hard drive) and you may need to run the portable hard drive through a powered USB hub to connect you to the foregoing.
