Hall 7 - 1400 Expansion Bay

Can't find anything that explains what can contain the 'Expansion Bay' on my 1414!

Checked the manual online and it shows only max RAM, nothing on HDs. to install the new HD 2 to, but don't know if it will work? The Bay is perhaps only for CD/DVD readers?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello

The expansion specifications for your PC indicate two 2 Bay 5.25 "and two bays (3.5).  See the Bay of HDD in the image below.

Once the two screws now the hard drive cage are removed then press the lock on the side of the hard drive cage and lift and pull.   Study it article.

  • Adding a third drive for HP pavilion e9280t by using the expansion Bay

I would like to add a third sata drive in my Hp Pavilion e9280t, model # AW020AV #ABA for backups using the expansion Bay. However, I have opinions that I need a case of HW for the reader so that it will slide into the expansion Bay housing.

What I need to know, is the document number in the case of HW and the scheme of distribution of the parts for my computer to confirm the part without condition.

    Kind regards

    Hi Daryl,

Bay expansion is actually a 5.25 "which is usually used for an additional optical drive.  However, you can use this Bay for one SSD or an additional hard drive using a 5.25 "to 3.5" adapter Bay or a 5.25 "to 2.5" Bay adapter.

The e9280t of the firm also has berries to drive HP Pocket Media and personal media drive both of which as pluggable and portable USB hard drives.  These readers are hard to find at reasonable prices.  You might find them on eBay

  • Need help with Expansion Bay connections

    Hello

My father last week bought a desktop p6240f with Windows 7 computer.  He went out and bought a Blu - ray DVD player because there is an expansion Bay.  Well, I went to install in its new PC to see that it doesn't seem to be enough connections for me to install that.  Both the existing drive and the new Blu - ray player have the motherboard and the power of SATA connections.  Well there are a lot of connections to motherboard SATA, however there are only 2 SATA (1 active DVD drive) power connectors and 1 for the hard drive.  There is a lot of supply connections 4 pins, but that does not help me.  Because there are a lot of 4 connections of the pins I thought maybe I could then just use an old drive that came from his las PC... it is not possible either because there is no IDE connection to the motherboard.

At this point, I see absolutely no way for me to install a secondary in this PC drive, unless anyone knows of any connection of converter that will connect to the power connection 4 pins at the other end a SATA power connection.

Any help in this matter will be useful.

    Thank you

    Hello friends,

I'm trying to adds a new hard drive in the free hard drive Bay. I am fighting to get access to the Bay. Some body send me an email or give me pointersto for information on how to open this high office? I was able to open the side panel of ip and found power connectors / data for my SATA drive!

Is there a way to remove the front panel - which can give better access?

    Thanks for any help!

PS: I originally posted this in the laptop computer forum by mistake, so reposting in office environment.

See p. 17 help. The PMD & disk HARD are housed in a single cage, and you don't need to remove the front panel to access, but if you have a PMD in the Bay, to eject first.

    Hello.

I'm sorry, I really need to be delayed in some way, shape, because no matter how hard I try I can't remove the metal for the PCI-e slot. I tried to bend the tab that holds it on, it won't bend. Perfect. It is remarkably frusterating.  Can anyone give me a detailed on how to remove this instruction * bleep * thing, or better yet, does anyone have a picture or a video? It cannot be if difficult, but the tab will not simply fold and it's the only thing that keeps me from installing my new graphics card.

  • Portege 4010 - upgrade memory

I have a Portege 4010 and cannot find the expansion Bay of memory to upgrade the memory. Under my laptop's hard drive battery, dvd and what I think should be the memory, BUT it has 2 wires attached to it.

    Hello

Memory modules are hidden under the keyboard!
You will need to remove first a plastic cover to think above the keys F1 to F12.
Then you should find 2 screws holding the keyboard.

Please be careful because the keyboard is connected to the motherboard with a thin flat cable

Then, you could see the memory modules. Gently press the two latches.
One end of the strip of memory expansion will pop up. Enter the module memory expansion, then take it out.

    I hope this helps...

  • Adding 3rd hard drive for HP Pavilion Elite m9250f

I have a Pavilion Elite m9250f running Windows Vista Home 64 bit. The computer currently has two 500 GB hard drives for a total capacity of 1 TB. I would like to add a third drive to increase storage capacity.  I have a SATA to 2 to and cables. When I tried to install the new drive above the two existing disks, he did not slide smoothly. When I removed the already highest reader, I could slide the new drive into but the screws are not line up properly with the new drive. This leads me to believe that I can not install a third drive in the Bay. Is this a correct assumption?

I have an available expansion Bay below the optical drive but am not sure that it is usable for a hard drive. If the use of the expansion Bay is possible, do I have to buy a hook or how to mount the drive in this space?

If necessary, I can copy the data from the secondary drive on an external drive and replace it with the new drive. However, I need confirmation that the secondary is the player in the foreground of both in the hard disc enclosure.

    Thank you for your help.

If the task under the existing optical Bay is open, just use an adapter to fill the space and to mount the drive in there.  Make sure of course that there is a power cord and a SATA port.

  • Tread boot

    Hi all

I'm normally a guy talksoccer.net... but its good to talk to people for a change! I have a problem with a satellite pro A60 which I just returned from a long turn lent by someone who isn't a friend over! He said that one minute, the next minute, it was nice it wasn't!

When you start the unit goes through post (used toshiba welcome screen - "in touch with tomorrow") then it goes to the XP screen for interruption (IE, we apologize for the inconvenience, but windows did not start successfully. A recent change in hardware or software may have saused this.) There are a number of options to choose from: -.
Safe mode; safe mode with command prompt; safe mode with networking; last good known; and start windows normally.

However, it does not matter that you are selecting the following happens always: -.

First windows accesses the page to screen of XP, there is a blue error screen that is passed in a Flash (all that I can say is that is not the normal error screen being only half a page! most are a full page!)

then he goes back to the same windows not started correctly screen again.

I have tried a number of things - especially CD starts, and even though I know that the disks ARE starts disc, I get the same answer... No boot in ATAPI drive!

Another question... how many Berry memmory are there in the A60? Is the motherboard a Bay AND an expansion Bay on the back of the unit? Or is there one at the back?

The reason why I ask this question, it is that there is no memory in the slot on the back that makes me wonder if this may be the problem... the manual is useless here it says there is one, while toshiba support suggest 2?

Sorry to ramble a bit, but I hope you get the idea!

    All the best

    Paul (touchpad!)

    Hi Paul

About memslots - there is only 1 available for normal humans. There seems to be a second (or rather elementary one real talk techno here), but it is not accessible without disassembling the machine.

So, in your pocket of rolling. Have you tried the recovery CD?
    This also failed?
Wow so your bad luck in. Go directly to your servicepartner and send to your friend spent a virus :)
It seems so you have 2 problems.
    (1) probably a software problem stopping the A60 to start Windows XP properly.
    (2) probably a defective optical drive.

Just to be really sure 101%, press F12 to see the TOSHIBA logo made up the boot device selection menu. From here choose to boot from the recovery (bootable CD must of course be in the drive!).

    Good luck

    Tom

  • Adding memory and an extra hard drive

I have a HP 595, which is a little less than a year and would like some advice on the following topics:

    (1) I currently have 6 GB of memory, using 3 of the 4 slots available. I understand that I have a MAX of 16 GB in the system. Can I replace one of the double modes giving a total of 6 GB on the 2 GB with 4 GB, and then buy a new 4 GB to put in the slot to spare, make an another 6 GB, giving me a total of 12 GB OR do I have to replace the existing 3 x 2 GB with more than 3 x 4 GB a new 4 GB or 16 GB total.

    (2) I understand that I can import a new HDD [internal] throughout the system, but the said number of spaces are inside the envelope for this purpose. Also can I mix drive types That is to say SATA and HOTEL.

    (3) If you chose to buy a PCI card to add to the machine, what type and why you would choose. I think along with a card that gives more USB connections.

    Your thoughts please.

    Greetings from David in Guildford

    dsc8w,

    ERICO did beautiful work.

    Here is the Service Manual

Pg15-22 should answer all your questions.

The departure of Expansion Bay on Pg15 references. It should be a 5.25 adapter "3.5 drive Bay".

Drive cage hard to 2 bays, your call of specifications for a single drive 1 t installed, see pg 19. You have a ready Bay!

Your system could come a GTX460 card, which would explain PCIEx16 card.

The access plate came to be deleted, see pg 22.

  • Can I install a 3rd hard drive (SSD) on my desire to Phoenix 800?

Hi, I just bought a Phoenix 800-089 wanted and I was wondering if I could use for an another SSD expansion Bay?

There are already an SSD installed and do not know if the expansion Bay would allow another?

If so, do I need to purchase a support of editing or something else so he can adapt?

    Thanks for your help.

The HP ENVY Phoenix 800-089 desktop has space for three 3.5 hard drives "and two optical drives 5.25". Using the adapter rails, you can install a 2.5 SSD "in the third-party hard disk or in the second Bay oprtical Bay. A set of 2.5 "to 3.5" adapter may have been provided with your new SSD. If this isn't the case, any computer and/or electronic store will be available adapters.
