handle type anchor points?

Is there a way to manipulate character anchor points to change the type, as you can do in Illustrator?

Thank you.

Fix. It is equivalent to "Vectorize" in Illustrator.

  • Suddenly sees anchor point handles paths.

    Hello. I'm working on a file in Illustrator CS5. All of a sudden when you use the direct Selection tool - handles and anchor points are not visible without worrying whether selected or not. They are simply not their appearance. They exist however. When I click-and - drag to select an area where I know there is an anchor point and then I use the keys keys to move the anchor point - I see the path change. But I don't see the point anchor I'm moving.

    It's all the product only on a particular file. When I open a new .as file and try to reproduce the problem - everything works fine.

    Any ideas why this is happening suddenly? I guess I accidentally hit something to change a setting, but what I can't understand. I have checked the selection and display of anchor in preferences, but can't find anything different there when comparing it to a file where everything works normally.

  • I can edit the Bézier handles symmetrically with Anchor Point tool?

    In CC when using the pen tool on PC, I like the way that you press Alt and Anchor Point tool allows to modify Anchor Points and paths on the fly. But to convert an anchor point in the curve, the Bézier handles soar symmetrically compared to start but after letting go, I can only go back and modify the handles independently using this tool who loses the symmetry and therefore the sweetness in the anchor point

    Is it possible to edit the Bézier handles symmetrically using this tool after the initial conversion of the corner anchor to smooth?

    Thank you

    N °

    If you want to change the handles symmetrically, so that they are uninterrupted - direct face-to-face and the same length, you have to start over - drag - click on the anchor with the anchor Point tool.

    I don't think you should use the Alt key

    After that, assuming that both handles are uninterrupted, you can click drag with the direct Selection (white arrow) tool on the end of handles and the curve will remain smooth as handles to remain intact.

    so in short, use the direct Selection tool (press and hold Ctrl), if you want to change unilaterally, without breaking the 2 handles.

    Can be useful for checking-

    Edit > preferences > display the selection anchor > see Managing when several anchor points are selected

  • Move the handles of direction in synchronization with the anchor point?

    Hi all

    I'm trying to move the anchor points on a random object (to get an informal aspect). (I know that some effects that already.)

    Maintenance of corner points is no problem - you just put the handles of direction to the same coordinates as their anchor.

    But I can't move an inflection point in the way I want it, which is to move the anchor point, but maintain the direction handles in exactly the same relation to their anchor as they did before. That is to say, they should remain smooth points.

    My script calculates the difference between the 'before' and 'after' the position of the anchor and applies this difference for the handles of direction... but in practice, the smooth points are converted at the corners, because the direction handles does not maintain their relationship with the anchor point.

    Would appreciate if someone can point out the flaw (s!) in my logic.

    go = go + ((Math.random () * cShift));

    VB = vb + ((Math.random () * cShift));

    thisPoint.anchor = Array (va, vb);

        var bShift = Math.random()*cShift;

        thisPoint.leftDirection = [la + aShift, lb + bShift];

  • on the set of paths, select anchor points and move the handles at the same time

    Select a group of anchor points, I want to drag the handful of roping and have other anchorage handles to move the same angle and length than I'm moving, I can currently do drag up the warp through the paths tool to get some sort of equal effect I want but that is not always the same ,

    I wish that all grooves (paths) to have the same length and angle of anchorage handles. Thus, they maintain their relations. But I want to do this actively by dragging one of the handles to anchor, not by a dialog with preview,

    (I would also be viewing live update of the race while you adjust, not just of the paths)

    move_anchor_handles.png

    Quite simply... You can not.

    At least not without third-party plug-ins such as XtremePath or Control Point. And even then, you must move the handles, do not drag.

  • Drag a single handle on an anchor point in a path

    Hello

    I wonder how it is possible to drag only a handful of anchor point. Sometimes I have a path and some anchor points have only a handful of drag on. Now, I want to address the other handle _without_ changing the handle already positioned. Is it still possible?

    The tool 'convert anchor' point allows me to drag the handles, but only two at a time. This always results in change in position of the handle already positioned.

    Thank you

    -Sebastian

    Hello Sebastian,.

    You can always use a plug-in like Nineblock software BetterHandles to accomplish this and many other manipulations of Bezier curve which does not exist natively in Illustrator.

  • The path segments and anchor point conversion

    Once again, coming from CorelDraw background, working with paths and their anchor in Illustrator, seems me very little practice, but hey, I'm willing to learn. However, I could not find how to get this Illustrator basic functionality, and oh boy I searched a lot. So, here we go, maybe you guys can give me a hint.

    Basically, in CorelDraw, anchor points can be: cusp point, smooth or symmetrical and the correspondence path segments can be lines or curves, all of these can be set by little fast individually and for me somehow normal.

    Corel000.jpgCorel002.jpgCorel003.jpgCorel004.jpgCorel005.jpgCorel006.jpgCorel007.jpg

    Now in illustrator, I know how to use convert tool for shwitch to a smooth point to a corner anchor point or the other way around. But many times, after his conversion to a point angle, I would like to have the posibility to do one or the other line segments of a path or curve. How can I do this in Illustrator?

    It is also possible to reproduce the functionality of symmetrical knot in Illustrator, which is specific for an anchor point handles, are the same length, move synchronized and always 180 deg apart.

    Thank you and sorry if my questions are obvious, I can't find my energetic path in Illustrator.

    I'm really sorry for this announcement.

    Don't apologize. Your points are not invalid.

    Fact, it's simply, Illustrator does not provide an explicit anchor type that assures the tangency between the right and a segment of the curve (your screenshot third in your initial post). Draw is done. The fact Freehand (called connector Points). No Illustrator.

    Illustrator does not provide an adequate means for retrieving a single handful of anchor point. Allowing you to win almost end up disrupting the curvature of the adjacent section.

    Illustrator does not constraints anchors to symmetric handles of the same length. You can do this initially convert result to slip with the tool, or (recently) click the button convert to smooth in the control panel. But even once, there no special anchor type to ensure that the symmetry continues with future adjustments.

    If you continue to study carefully the differences, you will find several omissions similar and/or limitations in interface of Bezier path of Illustrator, for taken-for-granted things in other programs. For example, you cannot compel a length of handle adjustment (sliding) to the current angle. It's always been like that. The Illustrator Bezier interface is worse in their class. Too many tools; too few features.

  • The object anchor points will not snap

    Hi all

    So, recently I noticed something in my illustrator, which I think is just the settings option.

    What's happening: when I use as race 8 on my items and I try to use the pen tool to add a few points, the anchor point objects, they simply do not snap.

    Like the image below:

    erro1_.jpg

    When I try to align these one, it moves a little further.

    Geometry of the invisible:

    Does anyone know how can I fix?

    PS: Sorry for my bad English tho.

    Andrée,

    In such cases, the first assumption is aligned to the pixel grid.

    You can select the entire document and untick finally align on the pixel grid in the Transform palette and uncheck also align new objects to the pixel grid in the options of the Launcher. It is crucial that the checkbox is disabled completely, not just a - which also count as ticked.

    It may be noted that even align with the pixel grid is cleared with all the selected objects, align new objects to the pixel grid is checked as the creation of new objects will result in these new objects being aligned, even when they are created from existing objects that can happen with Pathfinder operations.

    You can avoid the types of documents with the default (RGB for the web and other) or change the default value for such documents.

  • Anchor points will not connect even when "intersection".

    Hey guys

    So my question is, for example, I have 2 lines with an anchor at each end. When I drag on the anchor line anchor the other end line in order to connect them I see green lines, saying that they cross so I line and release the mouse button. The line that I drag then moves to the side, and they're more connected. When I see in the outline I see that the lines are not connected. I try dropping them on in map mode, same problem. It is the same for all the anchor points, including on forms except those drawn with the pen tool.

    I've been job id document and it was working fine until just recently, then it stopped working and I had the problem that I pointed out above. When I open a new document, it works fine. When I copy my designs in a new document, all lines that came from the old document still have this problem but all the new lines or shapes I create join perfectly. I want to continue to work on this document that I have spent a lot of time on it to this day though I need points to align and connect when I join them.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

    In addition, if you want to join them in a path, you must select them and Ctrl / Cmd + J (with an apology for possibly stating the obvious (too) you already know).

  • Adding and editing an anchor point when drawing

    I know in Photoshop, you can add an anchor between two anchor points while still drawing with the pen tool, then hold down the ctrl/cmd key to modify anchor points and has handles. When I try this with AI, I get the selection tool instead of the direct Selection tool. Is it possible to do this in HERE?

    If you have the direct Selection tool highlighted (use A key before the P), it will be accessible by pressing the Cmd (Ctrl) while drawing. This means that you can change the position of anchor while still drawing the path.

  • Parametric sice of change in shape of rectangle to scale and to the anchor point

    A current project of mine, I use many forms - in particular rectangle shapes with rounded corners. To maintain the proportions of the rounded corners when the size changes animation, I use the size property of the trace of the rectangle across the shape. It seems to work pretty well, except that I can't After Effects to use the anchor for this method - the rectangle shape is still scaling to and from the center of the shape.

    Is this type of "resizing" no support for anchor points, or am I missing something here? How do you solve it in your projects?

    Thanks in advance!

    There is no integrated solution and I'm not sure what you would do differently during the construction of a path. The expressions are simple enough, so why not use them?
