  What version of operating system you have on your device, is it OS5 or OS6, you need to uninstall some applications if you're under OS6 for Bold 9700 doesn't have enough memory to run the OS 6. Also have you activated Memory Cleaner on your device?  Check Options > Security > Memory Cleaner, if it is enabled then disable it, because it also cause freezing and clock.

  I lost my BB Curve 9300 and I got Protect installed and working. So, there is a recent backup made through BB Protect. My phone was not assured, so I would need to buy a new replacement or second hand. However, I would wait a while until that newer models may drop in price or are provided with some door better.

  My question is: in the meantime I need to access my details that have been backed up. Is there anyway to download this separately as a BB Protect file or can it be restored only to another device of BB?

  Yesterday, I downloaded and app from BB Appworld and then decided to do not keep. I uninstalled and my BB has required a reboot after the uninstall, I selected OK. It has now been rebooting for about 20 hours.

  Turnes off phone, is the black screen with the Blackberry logo and status bar, the bar fills, freezes, status display turns black, the LED flashes red and phone starts to begin again.

  I took out the battery (at 6 o'clock) and the restart of the perpetual remains.

  Tried to connect with the BB desktop to reinstall the OS, but because it is in fact never start the Desktop Manager is not able to connect.

  Based on your description, I would recommend a full reload of the operating system. The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

  (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

  2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

  (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

  (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

  • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.
