Hard drive, 1.8 form factor "

Hello, this is my first question, so please forgive me if I did not follow some labels (and please let me know as well!). My description of the machine is as follows:

Description
ThinkPad T400s
281522Q
Mobile Intel GS45 Express chip set,
Mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD,
Integrated Bluetooth wireless,
120 GB / 5400 rpm hard drive, Toshiba

My hard drive is Toshiba, MK1229GSG , which is the 1.8 form factor ". He "died" (offset of 3 seconds after every 5th thing I do) and HDTune gives me "warnings". It seems that there is no form factor 1.8 "large hard drives available on the internet. Am I out of luck? I don't think 2.5 form factor drive ", or a player that isn't SATA could work, isn't it? Sorry if the question is stupid. Could someone please tell me if I'm missing something or give me pointers. Thank you in advance.

EDIT: More details: the computer randomly works quickly, for example will work fine for 1 day, but the next day, every 3rd thing you do, waiting for like 4-5 seconds... I am so satisfied with the performance of the disk while it worked, but not now.

Edit2: If I fell on: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T400-Do-I-need-any-parts-to-go-from-1-8-qu... and it seems that I can use a 2.5 "form factor drive as well and it would fit. Is this true? If Yes, where can I buy coverage that suggests the post, the link seems to have been a former

  • Why don't my raw in iphoto files transfer on an external hard drive in the form of successfully raw files?

    Hello

I use a mac in mid-2007, 10.7.5 mini system. I use iPhoto for my photo files only. I recently shot a family, the RAW files. When you try to transfer these RAW files and keep them in the form of RAW files on an external hard drive, the files themselves simply to the jpg. did someone knows how I can get these RAW files off my hard drive to an external hard drive, but keep them RAW and their original size? Thanks much for any guidance you may have. -bethsongs

TO export RAW files you select them in iPhoto and export (menu, file == > export) using the type is an original option - see export from iPhoto for more details on the options

as to get them off you primary drive - you can't, unless you remove them form iPhoto and empty iPhoto trash and trash system - iPHoto must always have access to the original to work

    Hello world

I have a 120-107 I am generally satisfied but the hard drive is too small and I think the upgrade in about 100 GB. What should I look for when buying? Any suggestions on the best drive to get? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

    Hello

"you just have to take care, that you buy a Sata Drive in the"form factor"2.5". That's all.
As I know, the biggest that drive was delivered with this machine was a 120 GB SATA drive.

Regarding the manufacturer: do not hesitate to take all the manufacturers that you like. The best would be Toshiba at all ;)

  • New hard drive install OS

I have the original Vista OS on my desk m9452p.  IM is about to install a new hard drive.  Vista doesn't let me start dvd via the Recovery Manager.  Is anyway that I can get around that, if not I have no way to load an operating system on my new hard drive.  The former there is also a factory recovery disc recorded in it.  Is that I'm screwed and a new OS.

The intent of the recovery Partition is to reinstall the operating system as it was from the factory.  For Vista, which won't be a HUGE back.  Are you sure this is what you want?  This means that all the updates and everything you've added since then (when you first started the computer, when it's new) will be lost.  If everything works with the old hard drive, I would use a cloning software to make the new drive hard all along with the former.  This way, everything is kept.  If you mind not to return to the "cool facorty" PC then use the set of recovery DVDs that you made when the PC was new, or make one now.  See HERE

  • Re-install windows 7 home prem on a hard drive replaced

I have a HP probook 4520 laptop computer s which is come with a pre-installed win 7 home prem copy OA 32 bit, when I bought my laptop I was told that I need to reinstall the windows it is possible to simply reinstall without cd or dvd as the copy of windows is saved on the laptop, in any case now my laptop is out of warranty (it just just expired a month ago) and my hard drive crashed, there was no way to get what was in it, so I had to buy a new hard drive, now my problem is, how do I install a new original and an activated copy of windows 7 on my computer, knowing that the only thing that I have now is the sticker on the back of my laptop which has number of authenticity Windows that has been installed on the hard drive dead (the former)? is anyway to do this? I want to install the 64-bit because I need RAM reading entirely, as the 32-bit edition do not recognize fully...

The key of Windows 7 works with 32 and 64 bit, but can only be installed at a time.

First, make sure that the 64-bit drivers are available for your computer - check with the manufacturer.

If you are moving to 64 bit make sure that your computer can run 64-bit - you can use the Upgrade Advisor to check:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

Case of failure of the online activation:

Call Microsoft use the manual phone Activation

Note: If you always install Windows page enter your product key, do not enter your key and uncheck the "Automatically activate when online" then click OK/next to complete the installation.

    1. open Windows Activation - click on the Start button, right-click computer, click Properties, then click the option to activate Windows now or change your key.

  • Need help with a new hard drive in pavillion wiring elite M9400

    Hello fellow owners HP,.

I recently bought a 1 TB hard drive for my Pavilion Elite M9400T.  I done my share of reading about installing to a new hard drive to another former post office and know how to physically install the disk in the slot, but my question starts with the wiring.

I have a M9400T and saw the video of the installation here in this post.  I read to the bottom when he talks about the installation of additional hard disks into the empty Bay and had questions about the son in photo 5 on the photo below. I realized that I needed a Sata cable, so I bought one today, but I wonder if I can use other cables inside the case already for power. And who will be all I have to do to get this properly installed disc? I took pictures so that it would be easier for me to ask for help.

A and B belong to my main hard drive and I want to know if I can use D (unused but looks like B) and a Sata cable bought my 2nd hard drive. I also noticed that B is related to C, which leads to the motherboard, so I didn't know if I needed to do the same for the 2nd drive.

Connectors SATA 1 and 6 are taken by my hard drive and DVD drive (I think) cannot so I just put my 2nd hard drive on one of the remaining of the caps of 2-5?

Thanks in advance for any and all tips and suggestions.

BTW, I I was able to install the sticks of memory 2x2gb today without any problems for a total of 6 GB today but no matter what slots? I added the 2 slots of the fan and it seems to work very well.

SO, Yes, you can use power connector would be ' for your new hard drive.  If you look closely at the image of a ' and follow the Red wire, it runs directly on the white molex (P4) beside the PSU connector.  He doesn't have to go to the motherboard.  Is not feed all the other components.

  • p6214y won't recognize 2nd hard drive

I have a HP Pavilion p6214y desktop PC.   My current hard drive is on its last breath.  I bought and installed a Segate 1 TB to replace the current drive.  However, Windows does not recognized thqt, the reader is installed. What should I do for the drive to be recognized?

    Hello

You may need to format the new HARD drive - try the following.

Hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run box, type compmgmt.msc , and then press ENTER.  Click disk management in the left pane and let readers load upward.  Right-click on your new HARD drive and select formed to start the wizard.  Windows 7 will affect a Volume label so if your happy with it, just leave the default.  File system is NTFS.  Allocation unit size must be left by default.  Select the option to perform a quick format if it is not already done.  Leave all the other default settings, and then click Ok, and then Ok to start the process.

Once this done, your new HARD disk should now appear when you look under the computer.

    Kind regards

  • How can I get my folder structure in Lightroom to replicate the structure of the folder on my hard drive?

My problems is that after Aperture import, my Lightroom folder structure does not match the structure of my file on my hard drive.  In particular, instead of being structured as in my hard drive:

    2015 (folder)

    -> 2015 - 01 - 30 (subfolder)

    -> 2015 - 02 - 15 (subfolder)

    -> 2015 - 03 - 03 (subfolder)

All picture files are listed separately as:

    2015 01-30

    2015-02-15

    2015-03-03

In addition, a number of files have been created in the form 01a2a201aff9c8c684928629ea41221c0fa5930ab7 where no folder does exist on my hard drive in this form and the image contains the metadata on the right date.

I have photos dating back to 2005 and a large number of photos on different days, that makes records discovers unmanageable.

I finished the migration of the opening in two steps (that I have not enough space to reproduce images in motion through to Lightroom)

1 move images original opening to be references to Managed (with the structure of the file above)

    2. then used the Lightroom plug in import library of the opening (which has been copied successfully through metadata and my folder structure + edits since Aperture)

Does anyone know how to fix this?  In particular:

    (1) addition to the folder from 2015 to structure level?

    (2) removing all off the records 01a2a201aff9c8c684928629ea41221c0fa5930ab7?

    Many thanks in advance,

    Joe

In the 'files' pane, right click on the folder that you see and select "show parent folder. Repeat if necessary.

Can not install Win XP on another hard drive

Any ideas on what] s going on here?

    Hello:

The problem is that you must incorporate the necessary sata ahci drivers for windows XP to see the hard drive.

Has Windows 7 and XP is too old an operating system to make them.

Read the info at the link below, section of Intel and then read the downloadable PDF document for instructions on how to integrate all the drivers.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-and-software/SATA-drivers-for-XP-solution-on-0x0000007B-BSOD/m-p/114120#M17758

The only other way to install XP on this model is to go into the bios, the storage section and change the setting of sata ahci to ide emulation, save the setting here and once again, when you go out.

The problem is that if you do this, you cannot change the setting for the preferred setting of DCIS, unless you know how to install the correct ahci sata driver after installing XP from the controller.  If you try to just change the setting back on ahci without having to install the controller driver, the PC does not start upward.

Try "slipstreaming" the drivers first and if you can't swing, install XP in IDE mode and I'll help you get the drivers installed, so you can change the BIOS to ahci setting.

  • 'HP Compaq dc7900 small form Factor PC' - 4 TB HARD drive

The "HP Compaq dc7900 Small Form Factor PC' sees a 4 TB HARD drive?

I plan to buy a bigger hard drive for my desktop and I would like to know if the "HP Compaq dc7900 Small Form Factor PC" can take a size of 4 TB HDD.

Maybe you can, but I can't say for sure.

You will be able to format the disk to the GPT so that windows to 'see' a large partition.

  • Envy DV7: What size/form factor hard drive is in my laptop?

    Good evening.

Well, my desire for two year, died the other day care of overheating the chronic problems that seem struck Envys at this time. My block of cooling died beforehand, that was probably the cause of the rise in temperature. Yep, that burning smell of rubber from the exhaust vents was kind of present that something was wrong, as well as the characters of ding strange wing that the display has been put in place and the intense heat of the keyboard who suddenly developed. Unfortunately, it was out of warranty. I really liked this PC, too.

In any case, I would remove the hard disk that is inside to retrieve the data using an external hard drive enclosure but I need to know what size or form factor of the hard drive is to buy the appropriate forum. I guess it's a 2.5-inch form factor. Is this correct?

    Thank you very much

Yes, it is 2.5 inches. You can just buy SATA TO USB adapter:

  • Drive hard new Compaq 100 getting b Small Form Factor PC Windows 7 Pro error too small

I have a Compaq 100 b compact PC running Windows 7 Pro and I am trying to replace the traditional hard drive with a Solid State hard drive due to an imminent disk failure error I get. After installing the new drive, I put the system restore disc in the drive and when it gave me the option to restore the drive to factory settings, I clicked 'Yes' I then get an error that says "the hard is smaller that the original disk in the computer, cannot continue.", or something very similar. Anyway, it gives me no options, only to leave the restaurant. What can I do about it?

    Hello:

Recovery discs do not work on a smaller hard drive.

    This works...

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.
