Have I not "switchable graphics"?

I have a Pavilion dv7-1130us entertainment notebook pc w/Vista 64 bit OS and a processor AMD Turion x 2. Please explain the steps to determine this function for my laptop.  Thank you!

Hello:

Unfortunately no, I have not.

You might see if the latest drivers AMD and CCC download directly from AMD work.

I understand now is he can not allow you to download a driver for your laptop, but you have nothing to lose by trying.  You must run this tool to check first.

    Hi Cristi,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

From your problem description, I understand that AMD does not work.

As you are referring to the "Switchable Graphics" in Amd catalyst control center and Amd is these software development so I suggest you to get in touch with Amd and check.

    Hello

Do you mean switchable graphics AMD technology that switches between graphic internal Intel and external ATI GPU?
As far as I know that this is not supported. Only the switch between Intel <->nVidia (called optimus technology) is supported.

  • Y560 switchable graphics do not work

    Hi all

I have the model of i5 y560 WITH switchable graphics, however, sometimes it does not.

Basically when I try to switch from graphics using the switch of the money up front, there is no response. I even tried to right click on desktop and try to change it using "configure switchable graphics", but there is still no response.

This happens very randomly, but usually after I wake up from sleep mode.

also, when this happens, my games tend to run at unusually low fps.

can someone tell me why this is happening?

    Thanks in advance!

  • How to install ati updates if I have switchable graphics (i5 y560 / ATI 5730).

Is it possible to update my ATI drivers if I have a y560 w / switchable graphics?

Official installer of course does not work.

I read of a "Workaround" to run the official Installer, so that it can recover the files and then manually update pending. But it did not work, official installer would not start the download as I'm inconsistent, so I can not even at the stage where I can work with raw installation files.

Also if I do something like that, wouldn't he break catalyst control center? and if so to break the switchable graphics feature?

I actually found someone has 'hacked' or reconditioned drivers for 10.7 notebookreview forums used, has of worked, updated and kept switchable graphics / CCC Panel

Have not tested but ran some benchmarks game (far cry 2, dirt 2) and his work certainly still at least LOL

  • Switchable graphics can I or not?

My T61P with NVIDIA graphics died on me on Friday. I was 'under the gun' and tried to recover quickly and decided to replace it with another series of T. I scored a 'Fixer' T500 (2422 7VU; 09/09 xxxxx) off the coast of craigslist. He acknowledged my T61p Windows 8.1 Pro system disk and booted up immediately. After downloaded and installed all the drivers I could find, it is not clear to me if I "switchable graphics" or not. I have a mini dock and a configuration double monitor. My main screen of Lenovo is 1280 x 800 and the single display showing driver is "Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family (WDDM 1.1)" my secondary display a Samsung SyncMaster EX2220 turn in 1920 x 1080. It is connected to the DVI port on the mini dock. I installed the ATI Catalyst Control Center and "Switchable Graphics calculators", but I don't see an ATI display adapter in Device Manager. If I click with the right button on the desktop and select "Catalyst Control Center", two processes started. 'ccc.exe"(Catalyst Control Center?) and"MOM.exe"(monitor?). I also noticed that after that these two processes are started, my installed memory falls from 8 GB to 7.91 GB. I have installed the Thinkvantage Power Monitor but when I select 'High performance' in Control Panel Power Options "Apply" is "grayed out" if I try to start one of the programs in the Catalyst Control Program Files folder, that nothing happens? Do I not have an installed ATI chipset or not? If so, how can I make this work?

I have not cracked open except to install the memory, although I'll probably do so soon. The CPU fan has a really annoying rattle. That will certainly tell me more, but maybe someone knows the answer. Compared to my T61p with NVIDIA 570 M this system feels a bit slow and jerky video.

    Any idea would be appreciated.

2422 7VU isn't a real model. Do you mean 2242? If so, 2242-7vu integrated graphics only

  • Dynamic Switchable graphics does not work

I have a dv6-7014nr, I'm having trouble playing games. The Dynamic Switchable graphics does not work, my client of the game runs only on my Intel HD4000 GPU. I tried to disable the integrated Intel and just use the GT650M from NVIDIA, but I couldn't find the option in the BIOS. I don't know what to do, I can't play Tera Online with 8 FPS.

It seems that this is a problem with the profile of Tera and affect many of the manufacturer and not just HP.  This is not a BIOS problem so much as it is the profile that the program from Nvidia's Tera.

See page 4/5 of this thread on the Tera forums for a solution that seems to work for others who have the same problem you are having.

  • HP 1015dx-M7 Switchable Graphics discreet have

    Hello

I have a portable entertainment &-1015dx HP Pavillion M, and I am currently looking to improve the graphics. I know that most of the time that the mobility of a laptop would not allow it to be upgraded in the graphics Department as a desktop computer, as many portable have an integrated GPU built on the motherboard. Which is the case of my laptop.

But while looking through the manual for my product for a solution, I came across a notation that said that mobile phones under my model that have been installed with processor Intell have built-in GPU, but also a switchable discrete graphics for 3 types of Nvidia cards. Of course, I looked in the device under cards Manager to see if I had one all along, but not only the GPU integrated presented themselves.

But my question is this, can I buy the appropriate Nvidia GPU taken in charge and have it be my discreet GPU?

Here is a link to the Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03221579.pdf (page 11 If you scroll, page 3 of the real manual after all pages of presentation). Just so that I can confirm if I have this understanding.

    Thank you.

    Hello:

Your model has only the Intel UMA graphics card according to the specifications of the product on the link below.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03394757

Unfortunately, the only way to have switchable graphics in your particular notebook would completely replace the motherboard.

The cost for the single motherboard will cost you several hundred dollars.

It would be more convenient for you to sell or trade in your notebook for one with the desired graphic solution.

  • Not available after a Windows 7 install own switchable Graphics

    Hello

I had to clean install Windows 7 due to a problem that I created in the first place. In any case, everything works fine, except for the Radeon graphics card.

I own a HP Pavilion g6-1279sl Notebook. It is supposed to have an Intel HD Graphics 3000 and an AMD Radeon HD6470M.

I installed the latest version of Catalyst driver and when I right click on the desktop, it says "switchable graphics", but if I click on it, it shows me just another option of the catalyst, HydraGrid.

Using a tool that shows what video card is currently running, I noticed that, even when I'm running games, the graphics card Intel's works, giving a whole worse performance that the Radeon should give. I mean, the Radeon never works. I also tried to disable the Intel of the Device Manager (I think it's called like that, I have a portable Italian), and there have been problems because of the card Radeon runs does not correctly.

The BIOS is updated and no other choices don't worry we Switchable Graphics.

Is this what can I do to access the feature back?

Also, I'm kind of a newbie, then I want you to be clear in the explanation of things me!

    Thank you

Sorry if I happen to reproduce an old post, but I have not found a solution in messages older.

Hope you can lend a hand,

    Ruben Tura.

    Hello:

The only driver that you can install is the AMD driver page driver and and care of your laptop.

Uninstall the graphic drivers you have installed (AMD and Intel) and only use this one...

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-99756-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&OS=4063&product=5173421&sw_lang=

You are unable to update Intel or AMD graphics drivers individually, or switchable graphics will not work.

You cannot use the drivers supplied by AMD or Intel Web site.

Support page and the driver of your laptop is a driver made on order and unfortunately, it is not updated.

But it's the only one that you can use if you want the chart to work properly.

    Hello

Download and reinstall the software AMD on the following link - this will reinstall the two custom graphic drivers Intel and ATI, and the Catalyst Control Center to control devices.

    When reinstalling, restart the laptop.

  • Product number: XW898AV: sp54471 - does not meet the minimum requirements (trying to recover the switchable graphics)

I accidentally lost my switchable graphic trying to update using drivers directly from AMD.  I have no more restore HP Manager.  I tried to download HP sp54471.exe, but every time I try to install it, it says that I do not meet the minimum requirements.  I tried to use the Help Assistant tool as well, but it also gives the same error.  When you try to use only the tool to search for updates, it does not include anything for the graphics.

    Hello:

    You must use this driver...

This package provides the AMD graphics driver high definition (HD) and Catalyst Control Center for models of laptop computers that are running an operating system supported. For laptops equipped with switchable graphics modes, this package contains the drivers for the two graphics (GPU). Switchable graphics allow users to switch between a graphical power mode (normally used under the power of the battery) and a mode of graphics performance. If the video output high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

    File name: sp55092.exe

You will never be able to update the switchable graphics driver, so after getting things working again with this driver, you will need to leave well enough alone.

  • M4800 Precision: Input lag with a log in, Switchable graphics does not, fan GPU "chirp" when it starts.

I recently bought a new M4800 for an i7 quad, and a m5100 over-pants GPU. So far, I was rather satisfied with the purchase as it is what I need it to do. However, there are a few quirks that prevent from being 100%:

When I run the map only descrete, the journal of windows 7 in a such shift except if I move the screen does not refresh: you can type things and no. * display symbols in the password box. If you move the mouse continuously when you type the * poster in real time? It's a weird kind of lag, that I have never experianced before in my life.

This does not happen with the integrated card. HOWEVER, the computer will not dynamically switch between Intel processors and AMD gpu (amd Enduro / express power) as advirtized. When running in switchable graphics mode drop-down lists of global settings are 100% Virgin in the Panel of the CCC.

If you manually set for each application: it performs either one of two things:

    (1) most games seem to run fine, however he follow up with ESTR indicates its operation on the intel HD GPU and performance decreases significantly in the reflection of this...

or (2) launches a professional software as Chief Archetect x 6, or SolidWorks2014 causes the display to hang, fans of cut and the computer did nothing until a hard reboot via the power button.

    * I disabled the Integrated GPU in the bios and run only the AMD card as a work-around. Is there any solution for this other than to ignore the Intel card? Googling around leads me to a resource that graphic dell switchable disbling in BIOS are the only work around. All the programs work very well in this way, but sometimes say on a trip or during a course of reading, I don't see a reason to keep the amd WHAT GPU powered.

    Soruce to work around www.dell.com/.../EN

Is this fixed in a future bios or update driver?

and finally: the computer is dead silent most of the time, even the fans are pretty quiet. However when the GPU kicks fan on after being off for a long time, there is sometimes a noise, I can only describe as "electronic chirping/scraping" until the fan whirrs to life, it affects not at startup, but randomly as you use on battery and plugged. the configuration management thermal "maximum performance" to keep the fan on all the time to a certain extent eliminates noise. Is this normal? or is this a problem?

My personal experience has been a long and trying a.  First, they sent a technician to replace the graphics card with an another week.  Has not made a difference.  While they had tech replace the motherboard.  No difference.  So, I insisted on a new m4800 with the nVidia processor.  That's how I got mine.  BUT I think that if you pushed, maybe they could send a technician to change your graphics card.  Or at least send you a different model (for which you need of course a different driver), then you could install or take to a repair technician.

For what it's worth, Dell knows they have a problem with this hardware configuration and told me that they raised the question to their experienced engineers.

    Hello

I just installed Windows 8 and switchable graphics does not work on the system. The most annoying is that I can't use the radeon graphics card, because the stop system it works.

I've attached a screenshot of what I see:

What I have tried to solve the problem:

    • Reinstall the driver built-in Intel (HD Graphics 3000)
    • The latest version of the A09 bios for laptop
    Nothing has worked.
Switchable graphics worked very well under Windows 7 64-bit.
    Help, please!

and the version of the driver:

  • switchable graphics does not allow me to apply changes

My switchable graphics does not allow me to change the program to high performance. When I click on apply, it is up to not assigned. all the drivers are up to date according to the HP support assistant.
