Y560 switchable graphics do not work

Hi all

I have the model of i5 y560 WITH switchable graphics, however, sometimes it does not.

Basically when I try to switch from graphics using the switch of the money up front, there is no response. I even tried to right click on desktop and try to change it using "configure switchable graphics", but there is still no response.

This happens very randomly, but usually after I wake up from sleep mode.

also, when this happens, my games tend to run at unusually low fps.

can someone tell me why this is happening?

Thanks in advance!

It seems that this is a problem with the profile of Tera and affect many of the manufacturer and not just HP.  This is not a BIOS problem so much as it is the profile that the program from Nvidia's Tera.

Hi Farhat. Once installed the AMD drivers can remove the ability to configure switchable graphics. Essentially, what you must do to restore its functionality, is to use the Recovery Manager HP to the rear original drivers and then upgrade to the latest HP drivers available. I've included links to several documents to guide you through the process and provide additional details. I hope this helps, let me know.

Here is the overview of the technology.
    Switchable graphics Overview:
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02731962

If you have the Intel + AMD configuration (which I think do you), this document will show you how to configure it.
Switchable Graphics on laptops configured with Intel and ATI GPU:
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03048374

This program will show you, in your taskbar when the discrete GPU (your AMD) is active.
    AMD System Monitor:
    http://sites.AMD.com/us/game/downloads/AMD-System-Monitor/pages/overview.aspx

If you have lost the ability to configure switchable graphics card, you can restore the original drivers using the method described in this document.
Using Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 8):

  • M4800 Precision: Input lag with a log in, Switchable graphics does not, fan GPU "chirp" when it starts.

I recently bought a new M4800 for an i7 quad, and a m5100 over-pants GPU. So far, I was rather satisfied with the purchase as it is what I need it to do. However, there are a few quirks that prevent from being 100%:

When I run the map only descrete, the journal of windows 7 in a such shift except if I move the screen does not refresh: you can type things and no. * display symbols in the password box. If you move the mouse continuously when you type the * poster in real time? It's a weird kind of lag, that I have never experianced before in my life.

This does not happen with the integrated card. HOWEVER, the computer will not dynamically switch between Intel processors and AMD gpu (amd Enduro / express power) as advirtized. When running in switchable graphics mode drop-down lists of global settings are 100% Virgin in the Panel of the CCC.

If you manually set for each application: it performs either one of two things:

    (1) most games seem to run fine, however he follow up with ESTR indicates its operation on the intel HD GPU and performance decreases significantly in the reflection of this...

or (2) launches a professional software as Chief Archetect x 6, or SolidWorks2014 causes the display to hang, fans of cut and the computer did nothing until a hard reboot via the power button.

    * I disabled the Integrated GPU in the bios and run only the AMD card as a work-around. Is there any solution for this other than to ignore the Intel card? Googling around leads me to a resource that graphic dell switchable disbling in BIOS are the only work around. All the programs work very well in this way, but sometimes say on a trip or during a course of reading, I don't see a reason to keep the amd WHAT GPU powered.

    Soruce to work around www.dell.com/.../EN

Is this fixed in a future bios or update driver?

and finally: the computer is dead silent most of the time, even the fans are pretty quiet. However when the GPU kicks fan on after being off for a long time, there is sometimes a noise, I can only describe as "electronic chirping/scraping" until the fan whirrs to life, it affects not at startup, but randomly as you use on battery and plugged. the configuration management thermal "maximum performance" to keep the fan on all the time to a certain extent eliminates noise. Is this normal? or is this a problem?

My personal experience has been a long and trying a.  First, they sent a technician to replace the graphics card with an another week.  Has not made a difference.  While they had tech replace the motherboard.  No difference.  So, I insisted on a new m4800 with the nVidia processor.  That's how I got mine.  BUT I think that if you pushed, maybe they could send a technician to change your graphics card.  Or at least send you a different model (for which you need of course a different driver), then you could install or take to a repair technician.

For what it's worth, Dell knows they have a problem with this hardware configuration and told me that they raised the question to their experienced engineers.

  • HP 15-ac107nq: 15-ac107nq GRAPHICS DRIVER NOT WORKING Hp laptop

I have a computer laptop 15-ac107nq Hp that has graphics of amd radeon r5 m300.

The problem is that the driver provided by HP does not work.

    I downloaded sp72646.exe file here: http://support.hp.com/ro-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-ac100-Notebook-PC-series/8499326/model/1028280...

Corresponding to the 64 bit version of windows 7 driver.

Once all the files are extracted and the installation program is supposed to start, nothing happens.

I noticed a few processes that are running in the background, but nothing appeared on the screen even after half an hour.

I thought it might be a problem of .net so I installed 4.5 .net framework, but I had the same problem with the installer.

Then I tried to install driver official website of the amd for this graphics card, but of course it does not work.

    Any ideas?

  • Option of switchable Graphics Mode not found in BIOS on the dv6-6026TX, even after the sp54024 update

FYI, the option to change from dynamic to fixed option is available on laptops with Switchable Dynamic graphics. Your computer laptop dv6-6026TX has fixed Switchable graphics, and that is why you are not able to find this option in the BIOS.

Have you tried to uninstall the current display driver? If this isn't the case, please try to:

    • Press (Windows key + X)
    • Click on Device Manager.
    • Expand display adapter.

You happen to have any antivirus software running, firewall, etc.?

    Problems in Mode safe?

Have you tried to update the drivers in clean bootmode?

Can you please provide me with a screenshot:

  • Intel HD Graphics will not work with Adobe first Pro CC

When I insert R3D (or all files) into Premiere Pro and attempt to view, first crashes. I know that this is a problem with open CL and I was instructed to go to software rendering to avoid collisions if this makes rendering and display 4K clips very slow.

I have the latest drivers for my CPU/GPU. Which released an update to synchronize the drivers on the side of Adobe, or is it a problem that I should take with intel?

  • AMD Radeon 7400 (switchable graphics) on dell vostro 3350 does not work under Windows 8 (error code 43)

    Hello

I just installed Windows 8 and switchable graphics does not work on the system. The most annoying is that I can't use the radeon graphics card, because the stop system it works.

I've attached a screenshot of what I see:

What I have tried to solve the problem:

    • Install the latest drivers AMD radeon HD (http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst1211betadriver.aspx)
    • Reinstall the driver built-in Intel (HD Graphics 3000)
    • The latest version of the A09 bios for laptop
    Nothing has worked.
Switchable graphics worked very well under Windows 7 64-bit.
    Help, please!

and the version of the driver:

  • Not available after a Windows 7 install own switchable Graphics

    Hello

I had to clean install Windows 7 due to a problem that I created in the first place. In any case, everything works fine, except for the Radeon graphics card.

I own a HP Pavilion g6-1279sl Notebook. It is supposed to have an Intel HD Graphics 3000 and an AMD Radeon HD6470M.

I installed the latest version of Catalyst driver and when I right click on the desktop, it says "switchable graphics", but if I click on it, it shows me just another option of the catalyst, HydraGrid.

Using a tool that shows what video card is currently running, I noticed that, even when I'm running games, the graphics card Intel's works, giving a whole worse performance that the Radeon should give. I mean, the Radeon never works. I also tried to disable the Intel of the Device Manager (I think it's called like that, I have a portable Italian), and there have been problems because of the card Radeon runs does not correctly.

The BIOS is updated and no other choices don't worry we Switchable Graphics.

Is this what can I do to access the feature back?

Also, I'm kind of a newbie, then I want you to be clear in the explanation of things me!

    Thank you

Sorry if I happen to reproduce an old post, but I have not found a solution in messages older.

Hope you can lend a hand,

    Ruben Tura.

    Hello:

The only driver that you can install is the AMD driver page driver and and care of your laptop.

Uninstall the graphic drivers you have installed (AMD and Intel) and only use this one...

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-99756-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&OS=4063&product=5173421&sw_lang=

You are unable to update Intel or AMD graphics drivers individually, or switchable graphics will not work.

You cannot use the drivers supplied by AMD or Intel Web site.

Support page and the driver of your laptop is a driver made on order and unfortunately, it is not updated.

But it's the only one that you can use if you want the chart to work properly.
