    This error would tend to indicate that the hard disk is running out.  First thing we do is to backup all your personall files as soon as you can.

    Once completed, the only solution is to replace the drive.  If you need a guide on this, please let me know.

    How can I fix hard drive HD535-2W error?

    Run CHKDSK with the option to detect and correct the bad sectors.  Click Start-> computer, then right click on C: and click Properties.  Then click the Tools tab and click on the box saying "will search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors", and then click Start and click OK.  If he asks you to reboot, do so.  This can work several hours, depending on the size of the hard drive.

    First of all, make sure you back up all your personal files, etc. to some form of external media such as DVD or an external hard drive.

  • G62 Intermittent boot failure

    Over a period of several weeks, this 5 year laptop has developed a failure intermittent startup.

    I went through all the suggstions found on various forms (running the diagnostics of F2 and F10 etc.; replacement of battery) and found yesterday when everything started normally!

    This morning, after having run the new battery down to compress and recharged during the night, the lapyop was to his old habit--won't start do not.  The fan should run at high speed for a few seconds then continues quietly with no display.

    While trying to access this forum on an Android Tablet (no luck) the laptop decided to come to life spontaneously long after pressing the Start button.

    The result of the diagnosis of F2 showed a failure ID: GGFXPT-5A47P2-9XL03F-60QE03, but running a diagnosis deepened from the BIOS gave no error some!

    I was on the point several times of just this "thing" reveling in the tray, but would welcome that there must be a permanent solution somewhere out there.

You had mentioned receiving a failure ID: GGFXPT-5A47P2-9XL03F-60QE03. Identification of this failure code is the code for "Hard disk 1 Quick Test Failure".

    This failure Code is related to the hard, I suggest that you save all important files as soon as you can.

    Here are two documents that will help you solve the problems to find the root cause.

    Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that tests your cam drive upward with an error when you run the UEFI. I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

    I checked the ID failed you posted and it gave me the error code SMART Drive from 305. Now if your hard drive still works for you, I highly recommend to make a backup of all the data that is important to you as soon as possible. A SMART test drive is usually a predictor of drive failure. It could happen today or in a few months, but rather than to risk of losing everything, it is best to take precautions.

    Once your data is safely backed up, you should probably look at a replacement hard drive.

    My hard drive has been neglect and give an error (301). I replaced it with a new identical hard drive.

    The problem is that the complete test gives me an error (305) on the new hard drive, claiming that it is full.

    Quick test (303) and INTELLIGENT test (301)?

    When I try to boot Win7 disk it reads not a boot device. New hard drive bad?

    As I understand it the hard drive has been replaced recently and the new drive does not either.
    And you are right, the new hard drive also seems to have a flaw, and I recommend that you obtain a replacement.

    For more information about the error code: 301, 303, 305 are all hard drive errors, indicating an imminent failure or had failed.

    I have compaq mini c110 and when I start it up it gets to the windows loading screen and then it restarts every time. So I decided to reinstall windows. I tried with windows 7, I get the first screen where I choose language after that when I press on install it just "freezes". I waited 2 hours to get to the partitions so I can format them and install windows but nothing happened. Then I tried to install windows XP, I got to the part where he asks me what partition I want to install windows and when I select it it starts formatting and after 20 or 40% in fact, it gave me error that my hard drive is damaged and could not be partitioned.

    I want to know if I should buy a new hard drive in this case, I would like to buy ssd or is something wrong with my mbr, I would get another message if it's defective mbr and how could I solve this problem? Or maybe it's completely another thing?

    Try to check the hard drive from the BIOS.  You can use the following documents to help you:

    HP Notebook PC - test a hard drive from BIOS

    HP laptops - Hard Drive failure errors: failure Imminent, Smart, BIOHD, HD535, etc.

    If the hard drive has failed indeed, then it must be replaced.  You can use this guide to help you replace the hard drive: PC Compaq Mini CQ10 Notebook and Compaq Mini 102 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service of Guide (Chapter 4, Page 44-45).

    Surface Scan Test indicates error HD535-2w which means imminent failure of the hard drive.  It is better to replace the hard drive or is it time to upgrade to a new computer?  It is a secondary computer used primarily for surfing the web and games, not to the main computer of our House.

    Hi cdrduck13. As a secondary computer, I would certainly replace the hard drive of my TouchSmart. Hard drives are relatively costly to these days, a low cost to maintain it. Even if you decide to take a new computer, you can always sell them after you get up and run again.

    Here are the instructions to replace the disk: Upgrading and maintenance Guide. See page 16 "removing and installing the hard drive.

    Once you get the new drive, if you have a recovery media, you can simply restore to the factory settings.

    What has happened is that the drive has failed. You need to replace as soon as POSSIBLE. There's no other choice.
