HDMI handshake

Have a brand new HD5670 ATI 1 GB video card that works very well with VGA/DVI connection. But what use the HDMI output on a screen LCD HD from Toshiba computer port must be restarted if the connection is changed in any way - turn off the monitor and the appliance disconnects with beep sound device Windows. Re-turn on the monitor and device connection is made with audio sound, but video is never restored. Sounds really stupid that you have to either live video low VGA resolution or restart the computer to get HDMI to work for the blind. Someone at - he found a solution? Really surprised that MS did not provide a solution to maintain the handshake for more than two seconds. A 3-1 HDMI Selector would hold the handshake? Thank you.

  • OTP-S790 HDMI Audio separation issues with DVD

I bought the S790 use the double projection 3D for my Onkyo TX-SR875 HDMI is HDMI 1.3, not HDMI 1.4 compatible. HDMI 1 the S790 is directly connected to HDMI 1 input my capable 3D Panasonic PT-AE8000 projector and 2 HDMI is connected to the Onkyo receiver, including monitor output is connected to HDMI 2 of the projector for use with all other sources. Audio separation is granted on the system setup menu. I updated the version of the M13 software S790. R.0460.

When you look at Blu - ray discs, I can get the audio to work, but I have to go momentarily to input HDMI 2 of the projector (probably then the Onkyo can complete the HDMI handshake) and then I can go back to HDMI 1 of the projector entry while I have the video. Audio (usually Dolby Tru - HD or DTS - MY) remains locked and everthing is fine.

During DVD playback, and following the same procedure described above, audio (usually Dolby Digital or DTS) lock with the receiver when I switch to HDMI 2 on the projector, but when I go to 1 HDMI for the video, the receiver audio dropouts. I tried several disks such as the Lord of the rings and Spider-man.

Anyone encountered this problem or knows what could help the got? I put the menu selections include:

    Control for HDMI-Off

HDMI: Connected to TV - Off

    Display auto-off

    Screen Saver-Off

As a matter of interest, if I enable Audio separation on 'Off' mode, I get only audio stereo, Dolby Digital not.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Hello Rick,

Try the following settings in the Blu - ray drive:

    • Set an output HDMI Deep Color as OFF.
    • Define SBM (Super Bit Mapping) as EXTINCT.
    • Set the Mix Audio BD setting as OFF.

  • Apple TV 4 affected by electrical faults

    Hello

my new Apple TV 4 seems to have what I can only describe as electrical faults. During the broadcast of the video seems to come and go as if the aircraft had a power failure. This happens sporadically. Everyone knows this?

How is your ATV 4 connected? You're using a receiver or directly to the TV. Others have reported recurrent temporary loss of video signal for a few seconds at a time. In my view, that there is a problem with the HDMI handshake drop and reconnect causing the HDCP copy for the video in black protection until the handshake reconnects.

You could try a different cable or connect directly to your TV if you're not already, and see if the problem goes away.

  • S580 Player restarts automatically after I turned off the tv

When I turn off my TV, it also turns off my Blu - ray player through a kind of hdmi handshake. but for some reason my s580 is going to restart one or two minutes later. Anyone know what setting I'm supposed to solve? or what I'm supposed to do? I tried going though the menus on the TV and the player, not luck.

    Hello

Welcome to the community of Sony.

What is the cable used to connect the BD player to TV? The Blu - ray Disc (BD) player turns off automatically if it is connected using HDMI cables to a TV that has the BRAVIA Sync function and the control for HDMI function is set to ON. The BRAVIA Sync function will turn off the BD drive whenever the TV is turned off.

Also, make sure that the BD player has updated the firmware in it.

  • Mac-mini - Denon AVR-1910 - Samsung HDTV HDMI

    Hello

I have mi Mac mini connected via HDMI for the Denon AVR 1910 port. My HDTV (Samsung le37b530p7w) is also connected to the HDMI.

The very annoying problem I have is that images and sounds "flicker" (go offshore and on) constantly.

When that happens, I see HDMI, PCM, DTS indicator on the Denon going on and off like the Mac Mini and the Denon were synchronization/handshake. The TV picture go on and outside, and it shows as "searching for signal".

I tried to connect the mac mini directly to HDTV, the flickering thing has not happened.

I can't find my TV box or drive DVD/BR.

I tried all the HDMI ports on the TV and the Denon AVR. It always happens and occurs only when the mac mini shows something.

However, when I listen to music on the mac mini, but the TV is turned off (no picture on the TV, but the sound goes through the Denon AVR), flickering does not occur.

I've read similar questions on the forum, but no real solution.

    Any help?

    Details of the material:

Mac mini: end 2012, OSX El Capitan 10.11.4

    DENON AVR 1910

    Samsung HDTV le37b530p7w

unless denon has a update of firmware for their APR I would say that the best bet would be to connect the mac to the tv and connect the TV to the denon

  • QUESTION of HANDSHAKING ULTIMATE PLAYSTATION 3 WITH SONY TV (help)

Good guys & gals, have a crack at it. I very much hope that one of you knows how to solve this problem. I've owned a 60 GB Playstation 3 since 2006-2007ish. When I bought it I was not the owner of a HD TV and played SD (standard definition). But played very little at a time. Obviously if I wouldn't have known about future issues, I would have picked up the ps3 at the time. Fast forward to mid-2008, I work at best buy in Home Theater and the SONY XBR4 out. I sell the crap out of the TV, because supposedly it is the best HDTV on the market at that time. I end up buying a (40 inch Sony XBR4) at the same time. Now for my problem...

Just to throw out on the table before I start, I tried everything I can think of. I spent countless hours on the internet, forums, YouTube, trying to find people with similar problems, or even people with different problems in the hope of finding a solution that would work. I called Sony 3 separate times and talked to people who barely speak English, and they all tell me to try the same things I've already tried... Here's what I tried...

1.) first of all, my Xbox 360 works fine - it is out of cable box HDMI in my television. Perfect unity of games Microsoft HD 1080 p + Telvision Sony = HD works well. Funny actually. Let me add, that the Xbox 360 works very well to ALL HDMI port on TV. All 3. Then unburnt HDMI port on the TV.

2.) second, my Playstation 3 is not working/handshake / connect via serperate OR same HDMI cable in my television. No. 1080 p either. It does not work in one of the 3 HDMI ports on the TV. However, the cables provided with the ps3 (red, white, and yellow) work very well. 3.) my buddies the same 60 GB Playstation 3 connects to my TV, through the same HDMI cable (I have several cables and even tried the Xbox cable included) and works absolutely perfect. So then who leave television out of the question, that could be the problem.

4.) next, I thought of course that maybe my PS3 has a bad hdmi port. So I brought my Samsung HDTV parents down and kicked it with my Playstation 3 and tv recognized the my Playstation 3 right now and I was playing in HD on their TV very well.

Many people at this point, would probably ask, "well when you had your red, white, and yellow cables, are you in the playstation 3 parameters (the hdmi cable connected to tv as well) and to try and switch to hdmi 1080 p mode? ' and answer this question simply, Yes and YES. I tried this many times.

5.) I tried all options on television as much as to try to make sure he would take the ps3, I tried every possible on the playstation 3 to option that it could display on television. Whenever I turn the playstation 3-screen 1080 p HDMI is empty, and I wait 30 seconds so that it is shown again in SD.

Here are some of the other things I've tried, and what Sony has suggested:

6.) unplug everything (TV, Playstation 3, HDMI cables) wait a few minutes so that everything be not fed, not connected, disconnected and reconnected everything back in. Nothing, of course.

7.) now the button of reset for several beeps, and the playstation 3 to come to a menu with 6 options (it's been a few months that I even turned on the stupid thing so I don't remember all the options), but I tried pretty much all possible options in this menu. In my view, it was as if restore the ps3 is by default... still nothing.

8.), I tried to format the playstation 3, did nothing.

9.) I have tried to update than the playstation 3 to the latest filmware upgrade, yet have nothing in HD.

10.) I tried several HDMI cables and all ports on TV.

I think I tried on 10-20 more things, I forget at the moment. I should have posted long ago, but I spent a few days doing nothing but the search for a cure for this, or physically to play with all the options between the TV and the ps3 and have never found a solution. I usually give up after a few days of trying really hard and come back months later. There is no way to enjoy a Playstation 3. I'm a big fan of Sony, and it's very disappointing. I have a bunch of Playstation 3 games, I want to play bad, but I don't want to play any of them until I can play in HD this IS THE REASON I BOUGHT THE CRAPPY SONY TV, SPECIFICALY for MY PS3, lol.

So here are the facts in simple terms. My PS3 - HDMI - MY SONY TV = does not work... My XBOX360 MY SONY TV = - HDMI - works great! ......
Friends the same PS3 - HDMI - MY SONY TV = works great!...
My PS3 - HDMI - SAMSUNG DIFFERENT TV = works great!

Several cables HDMI = work only
Try different HDMI ports on the TV = wont ' work
= Factory settings restore does not work
    Reformatting = does not work
Unplugging everything & waiting = work only
Just after connecting the HDMI cable & turn on PS3 = work only
Upgrade to the latest filmware ps3 = nothing - does not work

I don't understand, I can repeat myself, but this was VERY frustrating, and Sony is not help. Now the PS3's long warranty I know, and I don't know if Sony is going to do anything. Everything they have done so far is gave me a confirmation code, to give to someone else. I spend a lot of time waiting, and I'm tired of talking to the guy who barely speak English. My final thoughts, before you click on send, what are it's probably some sort of handshake problem. Of course my TV and playstation both work nice work on Matt opposing separate. It's funny how the 2 sony products are those who have problems, and my opponent (xbox) product works quite well. The only other thing I can think of is a possible upgrade to the TV (see if sony has updated filmware for my build of television.) if someone is smart enough to take a crack at this, and you have to make dates and stuff, I take a look. I hope that someone has had the same problem and found a solution, because I've exhausted all the options that I see, and I like to consider myself a person with a fairly good knowledge on the technology.

I would be absolutely more than grateful for someone who can solve this puzzle.

    -Bradford

    Hello Bradford,
If you have tested HDTV with another device like a Blu Ray player or cable box, press the power button. If he goes out either device then control HDMI turns and handshake is underway.

Even if it works with another brand television, try the following steps on the Playstation website.

Finally, if this doesn't help not here's the link to the forums Playstation, your request will get users of Playstation of entry, as this forum is mainly for electronics consumer and VAIO.

  • Loss of signal HDMI in Windows Media Center

I have a Dell Studio Hybrid PCs only running Windows Vista Home Edition Premium attached to a Samsung LN52A750 LCD HDTV via HDMI. If I turn on the TV away from the PC input and back, I lose the video signal... but only when Windows Media Center is running in full screen.

    It works fine:

    1. Turn on the TV.
    2. Switch to PC input on the TV.
    3. Turn on the PC.
    4. Start Windows Media Center.
    5. Turn off the PC.
    6. Turns off the TV (or switch to a different input).

    This also works very well:

    1. Turn on the TV.
    2. Switch to PC input on the TV.
    3. Turn on the PC.
    4. Start Windows Media Center.
    5. Minimize Windows Media Center.
    6. Turn on the TV to a different entry, but leave the PC.
    7. Turn on your TV to the PC - you see always the computer.

    It does NOT work:

    1. Turn on the TV.
    2. Switch to PC input on the TV.
    3. Turn on the PC.
    4. Start Windows Media Center.
    5. Turn on the TV to a different entry, but leave the PC with Windows Media Center in full screen running .
    6. Try to turn on the TV to the PC - no picture or sound is on the screen and the PC must be restarted to return sound/video fully.

I came across this problem recently (after the passage of a VGA/DVI to HDMI connection). First of all, I came across it when the PC would go to sleep - the video signal stops and the TV stop see the PC signal, even once the PC is awake. I have read a bit online and thought it was something people call a problem of 'EDID handshake. " I thought simply not let the computer sleep (and do not turn off the PC video) would fix it, but I ran into another issue. Kind of a twist.

I was showing friends how Media Center worked, I spent in the PC, showed them Windows Media Center, spent in a different entry, then switched back to the PC (because I forgot to show you something). The blue background of Media Center appeared for a split second and the signal was instantly lost. I had to reload completely in order to recover the signal.

I retried the experience - shot to the top of Media Center, active the TV away from the computer, then it passed right away - same result. Restart lost, hard signal.

I don't know how I fell on it, but at some point, I had the experience with a twist. I pulled to the top of the computer, started Media Center and reduced. Then I moved the TV away from the PC and back... and the signal was always there. I did it again, and again, the signal was there. The TV turns off and on again - signal always there. Then I enlarged Media Center, changed television away from the PC, and when I came back... NO SIGNAL.

So: with full-screen Media Center loses the signal, but when Media Center is reduced to a minimum the signal remains.

I started thinking about how my recent use of the Media Center differed from the previous time. Normally, I use the Media Center, watch a movie or something and then go and do something else. I'm back from PC to something else and back. And every time that I had spent in the PC and he had kept the signal, the screen saver has been on - the screen saver 'bubbles '.

Something that I noticed with the screensaver "Bubbles" is that it sometimes brings the Windows taskbar in the foreground so it 'up' to the Windows Media Center full screen appears. I usually turn the television on the PC input before "wake the computer" and to get the screensaver to go.

Now I wonder if the lost signal has something to do with Windows Media Center. I have [I think] know a bit the functioning of Windows and the concept of execution of different 'offices '. I wrote a screensaver in C++ unmanaged long ago and I remember there was some crazy stuff that you have to do when you write an application "windowless" (as Media Center - there is no border around it when it goes full screen) and make the "caches", as the screen saver 'bubbles '. I wonder if he has something to do with the standard Windows Desktop works correctly but the Windows Media Center app full screen "desktop" does not properly.

I tried another experience where I kept full screen WMC, leave the TV losing signal and press Win + D to minimize and show the desktop. Then I went to the TV in the back. No luck - once the signal has been lost, it was lost for good.

I did since then research various responses. I read that defining the ACPI suspend mode S3 would fix it, but it doesn't. I tried implementing a keyboard shortcut attached to a script that could change the display resolution of 640 x 480 and then change back because I read changing the resolution to update the signal - which did not work.

Basically, I got no alternative except to keep WMC reduced when it is not in use.

I'll try to set the screen saver "Bubbles" to 1 minute or something and see if that will at least let me inputs turn on the TV after one minute of inactivity. Yet, it would be good to know if there is some setting I'm missing.

    Hello Travis and Jmelton98,

Thank you for posting.  Your tests of Travis and additional post of Jmelton, it seems it will be probably something that only can be set by the video card drivers.  If you were to look at the known issues for some drivers, you would see similar questions types.  It is one of the reasons for the drivers for video cards are updated so often.  Sometimes there will be a problem so important that they will release a special patch to fix (like what happened during the crisis game is released).  There should be a new series of pilots soon become availible.

Please try and see if the problem persists.  Thank you both for the replies that it will help others too. Zack

  • Presenter PowerPoint on Mac mini mode displayed on the screen and the projector when using HDMI splitter

We have a Mac mini connected to a screen and a projector via HDMI using a HDMI splitter.

It works fine for most applications, but during presentations PowerPoint, presenter is displayed on the monitor and the projector.

When I disconnected the mini Mac's HDMI cable and put it in a MacBook, the presenter appeared on the MacBook screen (as it should) and only the slide appears on the screen and on the projection screen.

Of course if we have to use the MacBook for presentations instead of the Mac mini, you would need to have seen the presenter on both the screen and on the screen of the MacBook.

In the Mac mini display preferences there is no button to "Gather Windows" when the Mac mini is attached to the screen and the projector via HDMI splitter is a tab "setting."

But these two things appear on the MacBook when it is connected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

  • External display on HDMI overheating my Mac and drains the battery badly

    Hey guys.

I am using a MBP retina 2012 15 inches with an external monitor, a generic LCD 1080 p via HDMI without problems. And recently updated for Sierra.

The question starts immediately when I plug it into the screen. The Macbook seems to overheat and run fans above 4000 rpm, which is very audible and boring. CPU and GPU temperatures go above 70 degrees C (normally they make 50 +). The battery holds for only 1.5 hours, generally works well for 4-5 hours.
I tried killing all apps, followed a bad process in activity monitor, changing default resolution - nothing helps so far. The CPU is barely used by 10%, the memory pressure is fine.
It's just that time when I plug the screen - Mac starts bad feeling. Never, the problem occurred on El Capitan. Maybe it's a GPU problem, but certainly caused by the OS.
All the world had the same problem?

Try resetting the NVRAM (hold down the command-option-P-R on startup).

Also, try to restart in Mode without failure, then normally again.

Finally, try logging into your account, sign in to a user account (or the guest account) and connect the external display. Same problem? If it works fine for a new account then it's something in your own account which is the cause - perhaps an element of connection or some other system changes induced by the operating system previous and who does not play nice with Sierra.

using hdmi connector as the video signal on a vizio tv and...

Y at - it no problem with that or everything simply select the audio output from the audio out of system preferences?

I guess that it is the same thing as my Macbook Pro, where I did just that - if you plug the cable into the headphone jack, it should work without needing to select the output in the Prefs. If you check with a helmet, you must confirm this. Having a video output running will not affect this.
