Help! I need to restore my folder view!

I use a shared drive to work which has several levels of folders. When I drilled down in one of the folders, I changed somehow the folder view. The records are now divided into 3 different categories of alpha (i.e., A - H, I - P, Q - Z). How to return to the display of the standard folders?

Thank you in advance for your help!

An example of this is the Evernote database folder.  In order to recover some of the notes that have been deleted or modified, I need to restore my folder of Evernote completely because it was on a certain date.  It must include all files/folders that I've had to this date.

    How can I do this?

I did a lot of research, a lot of research, read many documents (including Apple) on the use of TM, and I can't find any information that explains how to do this.

  • Helps the folder view

In windows, when I had photos in another file in my folder of other documents had a picture of the content so could sweep more files without having to open them all to see what was in them.  Vista doesn't seem to have this option so feel to open all folders to see what's in them.  Is it possible to have the files as if they were in windows prior to vista?

    Thank you

What you want is in Vista.  You can make some changes views and sorting and formatting and such but only in a comprehensive manner, based on the type of folder (and the type of change, are you a request).  Even if this is not enough to your desire, I included it as it is, and maybe you can use it to perform a similar operation that will work given the limitations that you need to work with:

Here's how to change the default template for a folder:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/70819-windows-explorer-folder-view-settings.html.  Default behavior is to select the model based on the first type of file placed in the folder (you must choose something).  Vista sets thefolder type template according to what are the types of files in the window and the settings display window Explorer. This will show you how to resetthe Windows Explorer folder view settings, disableAutomatic folder Type discovery and increase theview of the folder cache to have Vista don't forget display settings, model of file type, size, or position of a specific window for when it was still closed to the location of specific path.

It does not work with the Sub record under, Open with, open in a new tab (Internet Explorer), etc... dialog windows of type through the goodFilemenu bar item. These don't seem to be able to have their size or their position to recall. For the latter, you can use the free programhttp://autosizer.en.softonic.com/to resize them.

Here is another article on how to modify the columns in Windows Explorer and sort in Vista:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/108665-column-customize.html.  This will show you howAdd, Remove, move, change the widthand change the sort order of the columns in Windows Explorer in the way that you want.

Here is another article on how to change the display of the default folders in Vista (but she argues, it is not a perfect solution and can revert to the previous behavior is not as good as the two prior links provided:http://news.cnet.com/8301-13880_3-10019957-68.html.)

I hope this helps in your situation.

  • I am a student. No income. Needing a restore CD for Presario C300EA to continue with it. Help, please

My laptop Presario C300EA broke and need a restore CD for to revive and continue my studies. On the HP site it asks me to pay £33.00 but unfortunately cannot afford. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Not a great loss, recovery of HP is nothing but the waste of space, a generic clean install will work much better & if you were on Vista before taking advantage of the opportunity to move to W7 that Vista was awful & MS should have offered all the markets sick very good Vista upgrade to 7 premium at least.
W7 is much easier to install & most of the drivers will be installed during installation, missing persons may appear in the update of Windows or Vista that can be used, also check on Google for the best options of driver for OS installed on your model.

  • I need to restore my phone, but my parents forgot restriction code. Help?

My parents have completely forgotten the restriction on my phone code. Apple says I need to restore it, but I can't do it without the restriction code. Is there a way I can get around this? Do I need to go to the apple store it self to fix it?

If you have forgotten the password for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple supports

If you have a backup that was made so that you have a RESTRICTION password enabled, you cannot restore this backup because you re - will just access code that you don't remember.

You start as a new device and stay that way. In other words, your data is lost. The Apple Store has no way around that.

Started my laptop this morning and was hit with malware/spyware. Could not delete of course I did a restore of the system since last Thursday. Now, I have no photos or documents. Is it possible that your files are still there but have
    become hidden?

Reach... Control Panel / folder Options / View tab.
... To check "Show the hidden files and folders" / apply / OK.

If the photo thumbs reappear... they can turn washed
outside. To clear this up... right click a thumbnail or a
selected (highlighted) group or folder and the
menu... Choose... Properties, uncheck the box.
    'Hidden' / apply / OK.

  • How to keep the folder views in Windows?

Original title: folder settings (options?) return that think Vista is 'practice '.

I have this desktop of Vista (Dell vostro 1700) for 3 years now, and he gave me no trouble so far. Vista doesn't remember my settings in Office 2003, for example. Really hard with my (working) translation software, often using MS Word.

But my problem now is: before I had an accident, it would return the views of my folders to tile all the time. No matter how many times I changed the settings to 'details' and to apply this setting to all folders every time I put my computer back on or open another folder, it would be again in "tiles". It's boring, I can't find something of a bitch in "tiles", and it's especially annoying because I told the computer to hundreds of times how I want to see my work, and she always returns to his favorite all time settings.  Now I have a new hard drive installed, want to use this computer as my mainframe for work and leisure, because my office is really slow, old and worn out (2003), and I want to go abroad for a long time and must be able to rely on it, particularly when it 'does what I want it to"it is.

What is needed for Windows Vista to finally remember my settings and obey my orders?

Could someone help me on this issue.

I need to change the folder where download windows updates, I know there must be a way to do this.

Updates Windows installation location cannot be changed. Windows updates tend to fix and replace the old files of the system, so it would normally replace a file in the System32 folder.

Help! I accidentally deleted a folder full of important bookmarks. How can I get it back?

Restoring from a prior day fix this? When I go to restore, it keeps giving me messages of script is unresponsive. Any ideas?

Where are the bookmark and folder names stored on my computer? I use OS X.

Favorites are stored in the Firefox profile in the user's library.
    The path is < user name > /Users//Library/Application Support / Firefox/Profiles/< randomname > .default

The best way to find the profile is to use the help > troubleshooting information, and then click Show in Finder button.

I found it appropriate to keep backup copies of the profile, as well as a separate copy of the bookmarks as well.
You must have 10 copies available to restore bookmarks. Surely one of them is intact?
