Help! -PDE-S3100 Bluray does not read My Passport USB hard drive.

My brand new BDP-S3100 works well with everything... except that it does not read my hard drive 1 TB passport. I know that the hard drive and cable are fine, because I can access and play movie files using my old LG Blu - ray player.

The player does not seem to recognize the drive, as it shows in the menu of the screen as "My Passport", but then it just keeps load information for minutes (I see progress in rotation of the icon), until it stops and shows nothing.

I checked, and the Sony player has the latest version of installed firmware.

Any ideas? Thank you!

Thanks for the reply.

In fact, I managed to solve the problem by unplugging the player for about 10 minutes (I should have tried this first)! After that, it will work very well and I was able to access the AVI files in my laptop hard drive.

See you soon.

    Hello

HP 6120 t (vista) BIOS does not recognize the second IDE hard drive connected via IDE-SATA controller. The other SATA disk and the DVD player came with the machine.

I hooked my old 200 GB Hitachi drive via the controller. I also put the jumbers in the present as a slave. I also took the original WD drive and just connect the IDE hard drive. BIOS do not show any drive at all.

I would try something possible at this time I have a lot of my data on the old disk.

    Thanks appreciate any suggestion.

Try to enter the BIOS and I believe under change of Advanced menu of SATA to IDE or Enhanced.

You need to do when you install Windows XP or you will get a blue screen and it does not start.

Don't forget chang back when you put it in your drive home hard sata.

  • Disk management will not read the 2nd internal hard drive more!

    Hello

I am a user of windows 7 and later than yesterday (2016_Feb_02) managing disks stopped to read the secondary internal hard drive (it was working perfectly well before). Does CPU, a beep when it is turned on or even rebooted and more when it comes to the windows logo, the PC hangs for a good 15 seconds.

The hard drive was an external hard drive and I removed the cover must be installed on my PC, but it has worked well for more than 5 months so far.

I would like to reuse the hard disk without losing any data.

I searched and tried everything what we can imagine and impossible to find a solution. I can also restore because I don't really know this error at startup. Here are the symptoms and fixes I've tried. If there is someone out there who could help me it would be greatly appreciated!

    System:, I have XP w/SP3 installed. Dual-Core 3.0 G w / 3G P5N72T - MB Ram, HD 300 G, Asus CD/DVD Drive.

    Symptoms:

    • I had my CD player connected via PATA ribbon cable and my hard drive connected via a SATA cable.
    • My CD player will not autorun when an installation disc is installed.
    • My CD player will not read or display the contents of the disc when I use the file Explorer.
    • My letter of CD drive is D:\ and always appear as one of the discs.
    • When I use the command "run" and type: D:\install or D:\setup a windows "disk is not formatted" error appears stating "Windows is unable to read the disc. The disk might be corrupted or it could be in a form that is not compatible with windows.
    • My Green CD player will sweep on and I can hear it turn every time I try to explore the files or after I insert a disc, but she never autoruns, or displays content.
    • I decided to buy a new SATA CD drive and installed, unfortunately it does not work either exact problems remain.
    • I have two CD drives to another computer and they both work. So I know this isn't the disc or the lens.
    • I ran the utility Microsoft Fix It and she finds nothing wrong.
    • I ran the TweakUI to make safe autoplay features are on.
    • I did all the registry fixes proposed by microsoft and online forums. i.e. upper and lower, filters etc.
    • I removed the device from Device Manager and reinstalled.
    • I ran a virus, spyware, malware, and everything is clean.
    • I have the latest version of the system bios and all settings are fine. Most are on Auto that are associated with the detection.
    • Type of device DMA modes are selected in automatic detection.
    • If I could read a disc that I could try to reinstall windows XP, but it is not an option now until my CD player is fixed!
    • I don't have any installed like Nero buring CD software.
    • I actually installed Nero Light to see if it would read a disc, and of course I can see the disk and copy its content to my hard drive or take an image of the disk.
    • I tried to rename the drive, disconnect the drive.
    • I'm sure I tried other things, but can't remember right now!

Thanks for your help in advance!

    Hi msavage2000,

It seems you have tried most of the steps to solve this problem. However, we would like to know if the drive does recognize the drive?

As we know readers work, I would like you to try a new PATA/IDE cable and check the result.

  • SMU 8108 does not start with the new hard drive

    Hello

    I am currently using SMU 8108 with SMU-1062 q.

The previous record was borken, so I had to install a new hard drive.

The new hard drive is fommatted as NTFS format, and it is currently mounted on 8108.

Unfortunately, I don't have recovery disk available to the general public so I am trying to install Windows 7 on a blank hard drive.

When you start, the LED OK PWK light is all the time, orange DRIVE LED turns on for a few seconds only when I turn on the switch.

LabVIEW RT switches are all off, I cleared CMOS several times to the Board of Directors, but the screen does not show anything.

I tried to use my DVI monitor with any other device as well, and it worked, so there is no problem with the monitor.

In addition, I tried to go in window safe mode by pressing F8 or Del it didn't work, so I can't see anything on the screen when his kick upward.

I tried to put a lot of information I can it will be very appreciated if you can help me with this problem please.

You said that you can't in Windows safe mode, you have installed Windows on the hard drive?  Are you able to get into the BIOS of the controller?

If you are not able to access the BIOS for the controller, it may be due to bad RAM.  If you are uncomfortable installing RAM and you have a few extra laptop RAM of the same type (I think it's the DDR3 for your controller) laying around, you can try to replace the RAM.

Was your hard drive damaged through certain events, or it just stop working?

  • Laptop running Windows 7 does not start if the external hard drive is connected

I know what is already on a thread, but here it is again (i.e. thread became uncontrollable anyway and did not offer me solutions). I have an ASUS K53S laptop computer Series and use it as a desktop PC. It sits on my desk and never move, I plugged my larger screen, a keyboard and mouse, printer and external hard drive that I keep all my information on i rarely save to local disk. These things represent more than ports USB to the laptop, I have a hub 4 ports on there also. It is just background information; I mean, the laptop is a must.

Here's the problem: when I start, as I do every morning, I used to see ASUS inspire Innovation - first of all, persistent Perfection for about 1 second, then the laptop will just get on the job and complete its start-up in about a minute (including login). Which was very good until a few days ago when things started slows down a bit, then I rebooted as I always used to with my Windows XP tour. All closed but return is reactivated and it hung on the opening screen of ASUS and show no signs of getting further. I went outside and continued on another work that does not need a computer, thinking that if I ignored it it would be bit go further, but I came back hours later to find that it is always locked.
Well after a little, I took the plug my external hard drive, and he continued to start where he left off, like nothing had happened.
This settled this possibility, but before that, I had established a thing; I need to connect my external hard drive before starting, otherwise it wouldn't connect properly.
When I managed to finally get both going at the same time (Yes, after some persistence, he recognized the drive but I still would like a solution to this when it exists), I looked at the hard drive and all my files are corrupted or something. photos are not valid, some files that I know to have files in appear them as empty and I can't make any sense at all. Is there someone out there who has had this problem before and fixed, and if so, how?
My external hard drive is a Seagate 1 TB, if it helps.
I really want an answer to this, I have data on that disc that I need and I'm not.

If the problem affects only one PC it says its something specific to this PC.

Is there traces of yellow warning in Device Manager?

At whatever it is updated / installed on this PC before this problem, or run a maintenance utility?

  • Satellite 1800-712 does not start with the new HARD drive

    Hello world.

I am currently trying to install a new HARD drive in my notebook of 1800-712.
I'm having a few trubbles as my Satellite won't start with my new HARD drive.

I upgraded my BIOS to the latest version.
The new HARD drive is a 40 GB Samsung.

Any suggestions on what I need to do to make it all works?

    THX, Philippe

    Hello

This device was shipped with 20 GB HARD drive.
    You again is 40 GB.
I guess that the BIOS does not recognize the HARD drive because of the size.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 Wireless does not work after restoring from HARD drive

After that restore disks for installing a new HD and use and to update XP sp2, the Wireless does not work and if the card is installed XP hangs then works in fits and starts. If the card not in place, not bad at all.

Booting from a Linux CD, the card works perfectly! I assume that the driver is the problem. The wireless card is the original, an Agere MPC13A-20/R, with Toshiba p/n PA317U-1MPC.

I have found some drivers Agere, but am not sure

    (1) if they are correct
    (2) how to install since the machine works in a way limited with the card in place.

    Any advice?

    Hello

I checked the page of the pilot and the only available for Windows XP WLan driver is the driver of v.1.11.108 Agere.

    (1) just try to install this driver. If the driver is not correct or is not compatible, then windows will not install the driver and you will receive a notification. You just have to try

    (2) generally you may reinstall the driver from the Device Manager. Open network controller tree, and then you can reinstall the driver.

But this is only possible if the windows started successfully

PS: Have you checked the information of Microsoft Windows XP SP2 update on the page of the Toshiba driver.
I discovered that you need to update several utilities if you have installed SP2 on this laptop.

  • Portege M400: Windows XP does not recognize the 160 GB HARD drive

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Portege M400 with Windows XP Tablet Edition. Now, I bought a new 160 GB drive. This disk can be recognized within the location Phase Installation of XP. Do I need a new driver?

    Best regards

    Karl Weber

    Hello

You have to install and include the Portege M400 RAID drivers.
It's a bit confusing because little protégé M400 does not support 2 HARD drive, but the RAID driver is required.

Please check the Toshiba European page and download the RAID driver. During the installation of XP her you have to press the F6 key to include the driver from an external USB FDD drive.

After you have included the don t RAID driver format HARD drive because this will lead to the driver losing.

    Best regards

  • Satellite 2800 - BIOS does not recogize Toshiba 40 GB HARD drive

I have an old Toshiba S2800 (if-200 questions in total). He was works very well with a 10 GB HARD drive for ages. Yesterday, I thought that putting his hard drive to a bigger.
Removed the old and installed a new hard drive, Toshiba MK4026GAX. On the power on the BIOS does not detect the HARD drive at all. I can hear the humming noise (platter (s) rotating), but apart from that, there is nothing. The BIOS indicates disk mode HARD is "unused" and also on page 2 is none shown on the primary hard disk IDE channel. (tried to boot Linux from a CD to see if who sees anything on the IDE channel, but apparently the primary IDE channel is disabled if the BIOS does not detect a master or a slave connected device). Change the mode of the master to the slave na HARD drive? t change a thing.
The BIOS version is 2.00. Tried to find an older one without success.

I thought that the BIOS has a limit of 32GB, but when I connect a 120 GB hard drive (WD scorpio), it has been recognized by the BIOS and the PC was ready to boot from the device.

I would have thought computers laptop Toshiba were at least compatible with another device (e.g. hard drive) Toshiba

Someone has any idea how to operate?

    Thanks in advance!
    Robbie

    Hello

It of very strange that the 120 GB HDD has worked on your old Satellite 2800 unit.
I know that the BIOS would not recognize these large HARD drive sizes.

In any case, seems the purchased disk is not compatible with your laptop and you can buy one that is supported.
I discovered that the 20 GB HDD MK2016GAP could be compatible

  • HP envy Phoenix: win 7 does not start with connected external hard drive

I have a desktop HP Envy Phoenix with i7 chip and an SSD for the OS.  If I connect via USB external drive of 3 TB WD for the backup of the system does not start while it is attached.  The pc seems to be trying to boot from the outside, can't find the OS and does not start.  It will start fine with small external drives connected.  It is the size of the disk? Is there a way to fix this?

    Hello

The WD drives seem to pose problems of my potential.  I have used other brands such as Seagate and Hitachi without running into problems with external USB drives causing the system to boot.  Maybe it's the USB adapter that I use which does not cause starting problems.

    @tpetras

I used the adapter HP USB 3, which uses drivers NEC or TI and has never had a problem starting via a USB external (non - WD) readers.

  • XP does not recognize a second IDE hard drive.

    Summary:
Added a PATA IDE drive so both are on the same cable.

    System information:
    IBM ThinkCentre P4 2 .66GHz (bought in 2005 approximately)
Upgraded RAM from 1 GB to?, pin DIMM 184 form factor.
    Hard Drive IDE 1 x 40 GB - Standard - ATA-100-7200 RPM.
Genuine XP; SP3 downloaded and installed by me.
    MT - M 8187-WBK S/N: KCGL5NB
    8187 is a type for a M50 number.

    My assumptions of hard disk:
It is Setup to have a disk of expansion under the DVD with separate IDE cables and no doubt when both these are used you are in a primary + secondary situation.  I think that I am looking to get a configuration 'Double' where both are on the same IDE cable.

    Action:
Removed the floppy drive and put the old HD in its place; It is the primary IDE hard drive.
Put the new HD located under the old and attached the new cable at the same time.
Use the power connector of the DVD on the new drive; I could so far to an extension of the extra drive Bay.
I checked the BIOS boot menus, but could not see anything that needs to be changed.

    Problem:
The system shows no signs of the new command.
It still shows the floppy drive.

    I hope you can help,
    Peter

USB is not supported, and even if that were the case, put the file on a USB drive would significantly reduce the performance of Windows.

To speed things you can locate the swap file on a separate partition (should be the first partition, about 10 GB is more than enough) on a second hard drive.

  • Update of Vista 32 bit does not work after replacing the hard drive

A month ago the hard drive of my computer (ACER Aspire 6920) had to be replaced. The disk image hard precedent (which includes the c: with Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit, SP 2 build 6002) has been mirrored to the new hard drive. Everything seemed to work fine until I noticed that I don't have more updates from Microsoft. I tried a manual update and got the message that the update service was not working and I have to restart the computer. However, the Task Manager showed that the update service has been executed. Of course, I rebooted the computer, but nothing has changed.

I found a whole bunch of recommendations for this issue in this forum, but nothing seems to work:

    • The Microsoft FixIT tool indicates a problem with the update of components, and then said that the problem had been solved successfully. However, the problem is still there and rerun the FixIt tool Gets the same message on a problem (yet) found and fixed.
    • I also stopped the update service, delete all content in Windows/C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and restarted the service. without success.
    • I've temporarily disabled my security suite (Eset Smart Security 6) and tried the update. I also have fittings the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution to the scope of the antivirus, without success. On the old hard drive, I used a different security suite so I thought that maybe the ESET (that I installed everything recently) could be the cause of the problem, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
    • I also followed the instructions provided by Microsoft at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058, but again, no change at all. However, it should be noted that registering some DLLs that Microsoft listed does not work (message that the DLL is not found or some server entry point (my translation, I'm using the German UI and don't know English good term; sorry) could not be found.)

Http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821 , I found another tool that supposedly can solve some problems of updating; I downloaded the version for Vista 32-bit, but it cannot install it on my computer (error code = 0xc8000247 during installation).

So I'm really lost now what else to do. I would appreciate any suggestions. Please note that I am not technically very warned :)

    ARG, apologies.

Was not aware that they had dropped support for Vista... (I myself have 'graduated' Vista earlier)

The fact that you have not already installed TSRI is exactly your problem.

Recent hard drives using 'Sectors 4 K', also known as 'Advanced Format Technology'.

If the installed hard disk driver currently is not compatible with this specification,

It will result in oddities like the status of the service Windows Update is not recognized correctly.

Installation TSRI will fix this in most cases.

Alternatively, if you are using Vista SP1 or later version (or 7 SP1), you can use the real driver.

Since you are already updated to SP2, we will see if it is a viable solution.

Go to: start-> Control Panel-> programs-> programs and features

In the list of installed programs, locate and remove if found.

    -Intel Matrix Storage Manager

    -Intel Turbo Memory

This should force your computer to go back to the real driver provided by Vista.
