• Help with Word to InDesign workflow

  Greetings,

  I'm not a user of InDesign.  Our Office Manager uses InDesign to publish technical reports from our office.  We create reports and go through a long process of changing in Word.  However, significant errors are introduced in the reports when converting from Word to InDesign.  We then carefully re - edit reports - and since we only licensed InDesign, we do this round of revisions of a pdf document.  It is terribly inefficient and I think that we should be using a Word-to-InDesign stale workflow.  I welcome your suggestions, and I thank you in advance.

  It can be, if you set the preferences in this way in ID. In doing so, of course, means that changes in ID will be omitted in the update, and you will set the styles in Word to have the final formatting.

• Problem with the help of Word 2000 with Vista computer

  I installed MS Office 2000 Pro on my Vista platform.  Everything works EXCEPT the word.  When I start word
  I get the Basic with no toolbar window, a blank page and nothing else.  I get the following message when I close it (using the Task Manager, as the program is not responding).  I've seen this problem on the forums, but nobody seems to have an answer, and I tried to do it intelligently as to what is causing the problem by searching for each of the

  To the best of my knowledge of the version of Office Pro that I use is 9.00.9327 with Windows Vista Home Premium OS.  All the MS current updates are installed with the exception of. The PS Office since I couldn't get the program to run right, that I thought I'd add Ms could make the problems worse.  The computer is a Toshiba Satellite with processors Dual Core Intel, 4 GB of Ram and 230 GB HD

  First uninstall Sophos. Anti virus apps are not necessary and may cause problems. Remove the bittorrent as well. It can be a source od malware.

  There is an option in Word 2007 that controls that:

  Click on the Office button > Word options > Advanced > editing options > use the Insert to overtype mode control key.

  Problems with word and PDF after crash

  My computer crashed and I had to run the recovery disk, the repair option, so he could run again. It does not format my computer but I had to re - install several programs. I reinstalled my copy of office for example.  I have an external hard drive where I put most of my files but since installing the recovery disc, it does not open some Word documents and gives a message error "user has not access privilege." It's the same thing with some pdf files. What can I do?  Please help because I can't open some of my documents from the University.

  I would like to just say thank you for your help and the problem is now solved.  In the end I paid someone to sort it out.  He explained that it was something like permissions for some of my files were owned by my old operating system and after that my computer crashed and I had to put through the recovery disc these permissions have been lost.  He told me that he had a program that looked for the old existing and re-installed.

  I have a desktop wireless 800, recently, the keyboard is showing strange behavior as follows;
  1. the left arrow button weighs almost all the time, especially when you try to select text (for example, in word) using Ctrl + Shift + arrow to the left.
  2. the green control led lights when the keyboard is touched against the work surface or slightly harder than usual key and the keyboard stops responding for a few seconds until the light turns off.

  Seriously, I would not have taken the trouble you with this kind of a questions unless it is very annoying because all my work is related to Microsoft word and excel, and I really wanted the entire web for a sufficient answer, but in vain.   Subversion deals with Word and Excel documents as binary files, which means that it cannot do anything useful with their merger. The best approach to deal with these types of files in a project of modules is to ensure that a developer has exclusive access to a document when they edit.

  Policy modeling can help with this by using an exclusive lock as a default behavior when integrated with Subversion.

  How can I get help with the quality of the PDF documents converted to word format export.

  Not likely to have, you're doing a "happy dance" but a scanned image is "the ear of the sow" and (Yes, I'll say).

  You can't have a scholarship of silk in one ear of the sow.

  Make you a picture of the text content. You get a result of OCR of all that is recognized. The character by character recognition accuracy is generally quite good. But - No image/photo file actually holds information on format, layout, fonts, etc. - it's just a picture. Acrobat OCR makes some assumptions about all this.

  -You have a bunch of each of the characters being exported to Word. Individual characters, not paragraphs, sentences no, no words, no values "white space", etc.

  So you get an export that is a "best estimate" of the less desirable source. Sometimes, it isn't so bad. Sometimes it's just awful. In all cases, you will need to do some cleanup of the exported content that landed in the Word file.

  The alternative is to transcribe the hardcopy to the Word file.
  In fact it can often be higher as a workflow rather than the scanning-ocr-export-cleanup shuffle

  .

  For really nice export "spot - we ', you must start with a PDF file from an application of creation (not a scanned image) which is a well-formed tag PDF (for example ISO 14289-1, PDF/UA-1).
