Hibernation on a Ultrabook IdeaPad 310

I just buy an IdeaPad U310 Ultrabook, and I don't see the hibernation option. I checked the option to, but there is nowhere where I can see to enable hibernation. Any ideas?

Thank you

Antoine

Hello!

the laptop is pre-configured to use fast boot technology intel, so there is no Hibernate button. Your laptop hibernate automatically to the standby state after some time (it can be configured). This can be configured in the Boot Manager fast techoligy. Search in the start menu.

  • IdeaPad u310 turns off during sleep

    I have a u310 ultrabook ideapad

    500 GB hard drive

    32 GB ssd

    Core i3

    running windows 7

I have power options configured so that it goes to sleep when I close the lid. That's how I always put to sleep (I never press the power button or use the option to sleep in the start menu)

The machine will stay "asleep" for several hours (white status on front flashes). Then at a given time (6 or 8 hours later) turn itself off (seeing status led is out)

I looked through all the windows power options and options lenovo energy management to see if I could find the setting that is controlling this behavior but have not turned up anything yet. I Googled it a little, but have not found someone else describe the same question.

I saw this happen while that plugged and not plugged. When I turn it back on, the battery charge level. I thought initially that the battery are dangerously low and it turned off or went into hibernation to protect themselves, but that doesn't seem to be what is happening.

I was wondering if anyone else has seen this happen. It doesn't really seem important now since even when he died, it starts windows in seconds. However, the system is still brand new and new systems tend to start very quickly. If Im wondering if in the future I'll see degrade startup time.

    Thank you!

    Hi Iso,

same behavior with my U310, there is also no Hibernate option to select,

Instead, after sleeping for a few hours, the machine automatically extended.

    This is a new feature.

  • Disorders of the IdeaPad Y570 sleep/hibernation

Hello everyone: Lenovo customers and the team.

About a month ago, I've got Lenovo Y570 (i7 of second generation, 8 GB RAM, 750 GB HARD disk and so on).

In fact, I am satisfied of this laptop, but here's a very boring question - disorders of the sleep/hibernate.

I installed Windows 7 x 64 Ultimate instead of original Windows 7 Home.

Then I installed all cooler Windows updates (SP1 and all others until today) and all updates for everything (drivers) from lenovo.com

    The problem is:

    (1) sleep mode - when it happens, if I interrupt bit - 5-10 minutes, everything is OK, awake computer. BUT if it stay for long - about 20-30 minutes, when I come back I have meet BSOD with message 'something about power. " I have dumps, if it is necessary.

    (2) hibernation. Each second hibernate leads to-screen sets out of State, formerly the powerfully flashing and then just nothing, computer HARD drive-based stay with black screen, all of the lights on the Panel WE still, power is always on and I can't do it-just to turn OFF with the round power button press.

I tried all the possible solutions - to use power settings, hybrid sleep and hybrids, all modes, all solutions of the internet and my own mind - without success.

Prior to Y570, I've owned Y530 and same configuration of Windows 7, etc - it has no problems with sleep/hibernate implementation.

    Please help me with this?

    Thank you for attention

PS You forgot to say! Sometimes, when I use hibernate - laptop is in hibernation, but shortly after turning off the power - it's on (after 1-2 seconds of the OFF state). Yes, I've checked everything - off set "Wake up" function of each device excluded just keyboard, leave all possible wake timers and so on.

  • Security webcam - Ideapad Z series problem

I would like to know an answer to simple questions YES or NO:

    (1) is it normal that a LED flash webcam behavior when Lenovo Idelapad Z710 is turned on?

    (2) YOUR webcam LED flashes when you turn on the laptop computer?

I am concerned about safety. My computer hacked to the University network and therefore the webcam LED starts flashing when the laptop is power on. I don't really know if it flashing before my computer pirate, that's why I'm asking here.

More detailed description if you wanted:

    -Webcam is a function normally.

-The LED will light up for a second or two, when the laptop is turned on, then turn off.

-The LED does not light when the laptop is awake from sleep / hibernation.

-The LED light even when the drive is unplugged and removed from the laptop.

-J' did some speak with a local repairman for lenovo, but we have been unable to fix it (EEPROM locked...), because there is no direct support for ideapad in my country.

-Flashing of BIOS has not helped, or any change in the BIOS.

If your answer is "It is normal..", please also answer if your webcam does the same.

If your answer "hacking BIOS/HW is not possible..." "Well, it is possible, for example, see: http://securityaffairs.co/wordpress/25425/hacking/bypass-secure-boot-uefi.html

    (1) YES and
    (2) YES.
The light of the camera on my Z710 happens every time I turn on my laptop. Without being an expert or anything like that, I think it is the awakening that gets the camera from the BIOS when you turn your Z710.
If a person in the community is more tech savvy, could you please confirm that this is the case?

  • GPU problems Lenovo IdeaPad y500 - 650 SLI gt

Hi all, about a week I have a new laptop Lenovo y500 with GeForce GT 650 SLI.
I am satisfied with the performance of the laptop, and I think it's the best choice in this price range.
Battlefield3 works perfectly in FULL HD resolution and SECONDARY settings.
However, I have a small problem, I don't know if there is something wrong with the hardware or drivers.
From time to time, for example, play League of Legends, browse Web sites or view switching to Battlefield3 for windows appears a mistake that the graphics driver has stopped working, but found its proper functioning.
For a moment, the screen goes black and back to normal. I installed different drivers GeForce site as 310.90 WHQL Beta 313.96 or manufacturer dedicated Lenovo Nvidia Video Driver for Windows 7 (64 bit) - IdeaPad Y400, Y500 dated November 4, 2012, none of them help and the problem persists.
What do you think? problem is the driver bcs or bcs material? Maybe something wrong with the motherboard or other drivers component? or maybe just a few parameters need to be addressed? I'll be very grateful for your help, what you sugest do?

I bought new Y500 without any windows or the drivers included, installed Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 and all the site drivers lenovo driver.

it becomes more annoying more I use the laptop

Hope to get some info on your part, what should I do to eliminate this problem of pilot ;(

  • BSOD after sleep/hibernation

    Hello..
Sometimes when I get back to my laptop after its either been standby or hibernation, I see that it restarts a new session and said that a bsod is produced. I updated my bios and it has not changed. When I press to look for a solution, it is said that the problem is with "Intel PRO/Wireless LAN adapter software. is there a way to solve this problem - and why only is it when I go out my laptop idle

Yes I see. If this problem is common for ideapads?
I have just updated the driver for intel PRO/Wireless LAN adapter software, do you think this will help? If not, I'll try what you suggested.

  • Z460, Ethernet does not work after wakes up after hibernation

Hi, I used Ideapad Z460 for nearly 3 months. I have this problem. Ethernet does not work after wakes up to the top of hibernation. I have already updated the bios to the lates version (release date: 14/02/2011) but still this problem. Someone has an idea?

    Thanks for reading!

try reinstalling power management, the default settings of the bios and also try this:

Right click on my computer > manage > device management > network cards > select ethernet adapter > properties > under power management tab, clear the check box to be able to save "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

Restart your computer and check if it works.

  • (Redirected) XPS 13 Ultrabook wake from sleep!

    Hello!

I have a Dell XPS 13 ultrabook I love, apart from a major problem. I can't seem to wake from sleep using the keyboard or the mouse. I never had this experience with a laptop before.  It is a pretty big problem, I use the XPS 13 has docked at the D3100 docking station and connected to an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse.  I keep the laptop with the screen closed and just use the external Setup - as you usually would when it is docked. Everything is fine until the device goes to sleep. If the computer is still on, but just the external monitor is turned off because the power settings, and then moving the mouse/hit the keyboard to wake the rear monitor. However, if the computer is idle (NOT put in hibernation), it nothing happens when I move the mouse or repeatedly hit the keyboard. I need to get out the ultrabook the cubby that's in, open, hit the power button, then close and replace. He gets the computer turns on again, but is incredibly annoying. As a side effect of this, all my windows get resized and my icons moved the Office because the latop temporarily switches to the built-in screen (which is at a resolution lower than my external monitor) before returning to the external display. I had the Latitude laptop for years without any problems and was disappointed with this experience. I really hope that there is some sort of fix.

    So far I have tried:

    1. connect the receiver of keyboard/mouse wireless in all USB ports on the ultrabook itself and also the dock of the D3100. No difference is made.

    2. try with a wired keyboard and wireless. No difference is made.

3 tent to shoot to the top of the mouse/keyboard power management settings in device management and ensure "Allow device to wake the computer" is checked. Not possible, "Power management" tab appears now available in Windows 10 in the device properties window.

    Help, please!
