Hide update

What happened to the option "Hide update" on the control panel?  The only choice we have now is uncheck, or install - not right!  MS is more and more like the Borg - "resistance is futile, you will be assimilated" - like the devil, I'll do it!

Start, all programs, Windows Update, updates. When the list of available updates appears, right-click on the update and select hide.

  • How can I activate the installation "hide update" in Windows/Microsoft update

Last week I was constantly asked to install an update for Windows XP SP3 (security for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x 86 (KB2418241).) It was first installed in October 2010. I installed it 8 times since March 2, but continue to receive reminders. The ability to hide updates is absent from Windows/Microsoft update. How can I fix.

  • Could not get the "Hide update" option in vista

I am unable to get the "Hide update" option in my vista. I keep getting invited to download a update that won't install. I followed the instructions to hide it, but when I right click the update option to hide does not show. What I am doing wrong?

Hey Cody. Thanks for your reply. I think I may have misunderstood Andre's initial response. In the meantime, I think I solved my problem. When I was invited to install the update again once I started doing that and then 'cancelled' after he began to try to install it. When I right click it (the update), while it is in this state of limbo the ability to 'hide' appeared magically in the selection box and I was able to chose him. I still don't understand why it does not show for me without going through this procedure. I hope I could make myself clear to you.

I'm using Vista which I believe is completely updated at the moment.

  • hide updates in the app store

I've continually updated 5 harassing me on the App Store - RAW updates for cameras that I will never possess and the latest iMovie and offerings of iWork I don't want.

Surely it must be a simple way to hide these unwanted updates and disable the constant notifications and access network on these updates groups...

Right-click on the update in the App Store and choose 'Hide '.

  • On family Windows Vista premium 64-bit, how to hide updates from windows that I don't have?

There are a few updates for Microsoft Office which do not install and give me an error code, but I have Microsoft Office on my computer.  There was a trial version 30 days when I bought my laptop, but I have not bought it.  I really don't want or need these updates.  What is the procedure for 'hide' these updates, or to opt out of these updates?

    Hi LadyJMP,

Open the updates of windows (via Control Panel). In the list of updates to install right click on this update. In the menu that appears, select 'Hide' User Account Control will appear and you will need to click OK. The update then will be hidden and will not appear in the list the next time put up-to-date Windows.

  • Hide update does not

Windows 7 Pro 32 bit, clean install.

Update Windows guard offering two optional updates, even after I chose to hide.  One is an update to support SD cards > 32 GB (that I don't need), and the other is an Office Live add-in (which I don't).  I hid these options several times but they keep reappearing.  They appear now since I just hid (new), but I guess that since they came in half a dozen times now that finally they reappear.  If I choose 'show hidden updates', these two are the only ones that are hidden.  Y at - it a tip for making them to stay hidden?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

  • Hide updated items in windows vista

is there a way to hide individual items to update, I didn't need? like all language packs, or the fact, I receive all kinds of updates to office 2002 - which does not install anyway - because I have only a single application - editing photo - this pack installed? There should be a box ' hide ' so I don't get unnecessary reminders and updates just highlight new things, that I really need.

    Hi pablo_I

    Thank you for using answers.microsoft.com

To hide the update, you are talking about

    1. open IE and go directly to the Windows Update site:

    http://www.windowsupdate.com

    2. click on 'Custom Installation' to scan your system (not Express Installer).

    3. Once finished, please uncheck the incorrect update.

(Uncheck the box next to it.)

    4. Select "don't show me this update again"

(Check the box next to the title of the update itself).

5 scan the computer again to verify the result.

Give me more information if that solves the problem or if no assistance is required.

    Kind regards
