hinge broken on HP Pavilion g6

One of the hinges on my laptop is broken - it is hung at the present time, but will not last much longer.  Anyone know if it can be replaced, where can I buy an on and offer a repair shop?

Yes, the hinges on the laptop can be replaced.

You can find the parts on Ebay. I just searched, 'HP G6 hinge' and he raised several inscriptions from under $10 BIN. Most of the shops but will want to purchase parts through their good.

If you are so inclined, you can find some tutorials well written online that will guide you in the process of replacing the hinges yourself, but it's rather intensive work you will need to remove the palmrest Assembly and the strainer to change out them properly.

  • HP ENVY 1090ee 6 - left hinge broken

I bought HP, Acer, Lenovo and Asus because I thought that the only thing that HP offers each time, is of exquisite build quality. However, today, I was met with a surprise. The left hinge (one near the power button) has apparently unravel, as if on its own.

Surprised as I was, I contacted the technical support. Surprise, Surprise, my warranty information is wrong. Ive lost out on half a year warranty services.

FLASH BACK: DUBAI - laptop bought on 3 February, 13 - great expectations.

SKIP TO PRESENT: INDIA - lost hinge broken and guaranteed.

Then I took a deep breath and open the HPSA faithful once again, inform the specialist my "fake date of purchase" (note that I am in India at the time). I am informed by the technician that I have 'support of the HP tech to the Arab Emirates UNITED to rectify the problem. '

    A STRIKE.

Thus, everyone knows how 'good' the guarantee are services in India. I remember having an old all-in-one HP printer. The printer does not work, so we took to the "authorized" HP nearest after-sales service. The first day we went, we were not given any "service". The next day we went, that they claimed THAT NOTHING under the guarantee it covers. They could be right, but oh well, we paid for rectification.

So now I feel like its going to be a repeat of the last time. And it's funny, because I found a large NUMBER of people having the same problem. I don't want to support the customer, waste BECAUSE I SAW them HELP OTHERS. The sad part is that these people are mostly from the States.

Maybe its not justified, but it always seems like the developing countries get the worst of both worlds. We are the highest consumer population, and yet we get the inflated prices (I know are due to many factors beyond the control of the company) and poor service.

I can't believe that there is not a single HP to Mumbai service center is, well, purely HP, and not a 3rd party "authorized dealer". I suppose that can't do anything on this subject and maybe as I write this in vain, but if someone is listening (or reading), may I suggest at least to have a third party service center. This will help a LOT.

I hope someone can help me.

  • Hinge broken on my Satellite U840W

    Hello

Any who have experienced problems with Satalite U840W broken hinges.

My hinge broke 2 weeks before the laptop was 6 months.

Toshibe service won't change it under warranty, even laptop have not been abandoned or in our treated means - normal opening and closing. Laptop is more or less without stain.

I can see in several forums that there have been previous problems with hinges satelitte, but cannot find any information on U840W.

    Thans for all assistance.

    Gert

    > I see in several forums that there have been previous problems with hinges satellite, but cannot find any information on U840W.
Occasionally someone reports on these issues, but on this forum, I think you're the first person who has this problem with the Satellite U840W. To be honest I don't know what to say on this subject.
I understand you, but service must follow the rules defined by the manufacturer of the laptop. If there is not any general problem with hinges on certain model of laptop, I imagine that they are skeptical about it and do not want t in the case of warranty repair.

Now, this is a bit complicated. Have you wondered how you pay for repair?

  • hinge broken

Anyone know where I can get a replacement for a J6480 Officejet hinge. The right hinge broke the other day when I went to repalce the black cartridge and now I can not close the top of the printer completely. Luckily the broken hinge has not affected the operation of the printer, but I wish I could close the top completely.

I'm sorry that you're having a broken hinge. This seems to be a hardware problem. You can contact the Support of HP (1800-474-6836).

This hinge is not a replaceable part. I read the forums and the post of other clients who have recorded or fixed hinges together and everything works perfectly.  I DO NOT PRETEND THAT YOU DO. I would prefer that you contact technical support, but it is until you decide.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

  • Hinge broken laptop?

Awhile back one of the hinges on my laptop broke, causing the screen to be more easily knocked down or drop it on my fingers. The laptop itself went very well, so I have tolerated the broken hinge. However, recently the same as that of the other side also broken. Now my computer screen balance not yet right. I have to use it with the screen leaned against a wall or a stack of books. (Note, this is the hinges outwards on both sides that are broken).

What address should I send it in and computing/how well done, it cost to get a problem like this repaired? Is a solution like this even possible?

It will cost more that worth the more likely.

You'll have to contant HP for a quote. It's probably going to be $ 400?

If you have a dv9000, he very probably still covered unde the extension of the warranty.

  • Video port broken on HP Pavilion s3307c

The video port is broken on my HP Pavilion s3307c.  So, I installed a new compatible video card, but I can't work because the bios even points to integrated rather than the video card video.

The problem is, I can't access the bios to change to disable the on-board video settings because I have no video.

Does anyone know of a workaround?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Jennifer

This is not a BIOS setting on my s3300t. The embedded video is disabled when a video card is well wedged in the PCI 16-bit (long) housing. Try re-allocation of places your card and make sure that you connect the monitor cable to a port on the new video card.

  • Hinge broken M6 HP Envy

Hello, I want to start by saying that I had a repair done by HP in March that went beautifully, they have been so helpful, the repair was perfect and the whole process was effortless! I am hopeful but scared about it. I also got the hinge on my desire suddenly crack open. No drop, drops or damage. Everything works well except the hinge which just dished out. What worries me is that this seems to be a popular problem, yet no reminder don't solve this I'm aware, and now that my desire is more than a year (which, in my financial life, is not that old!) I'll have to pay for a repair, which seems to be somewhat common. I'd LOVE to hear that HP is standing behind their product and make things right with their customers, it is the name of the game right? Repeat business? Thank you for your consideration. A hard-working MOM and teacher...

  • HP Envy 17: HP Envy 17 left hinge broken

Today, I opened my laptop and the left hinge broke. I posted elsewhere in these forums.

Not a happy camper right now.

I had with HP customer support with the help of mods/admins here. Because my laptop is out of warranty, I had to pay for repair.

I didn't have to pay because this seems to be a major problem, but also I didn't take it to anyone. In addition, everyone wanted to double that asked the HP.

They charged me $178 give or take a few changes. I was surprised when I came back. Not only have they replace the hinge, they also replaced the upper and lower the machine sections. They also found another problem at the level of the material and that fixed too, it is nothing to do with my problem. Basically, they checked the entire machine even though it was just a hinge.

I was very angry when it happened, but am quite happy with the results. Of what I was said, since HP went completely through it I can actually restored coverage, for a price of course.

The laptop looks great and works great.

Thanks for the support of the HP team.

This issue, therefore, and must thus be recognised as SOLVED!

EDIT: When CS calls you, let know them to look in the forums for this issue. Some there is not aware that it is a recurring problem.
