  I try to use QuickVPN to connect to my corporate network. Yesterday I was to the point where QuickVPN actually connected and I could connect to the router from inside IP. But I can't see, or ping all computers on the LAN to company. Manual of the router says '' customer QuickVPN may access only the default LAN hosts. ''. Are the computers of the default of the company LAN LAN hosts?

  I added the router (RV220W) to the existing company LAN to test QuickVPN. The company LAN has a Small Business Server as a DHCP server and another router as the default gateway. The company LAN the subnet 192.168.1.0/24*, the cisco wan router has the subnet 192.168.103.0/24 and my VPN client is connected to a hotspot wifi with the same wan and LAN 192.168.3.0/24. The LAN of the cisco router address is 192.168.1.1.

  You can reach a PC in the LAN of RV220, because the default gateway is not RV220.

  This is what happens: the PC with fast VPN (for example IP: 192.168.103.10) is ping a PC with IP 192.168.1.10, via the VPN tunnel. Once the request arrives at the 192.168.1.10 PC, this PC sends the response to its default gateway (because don't have a direct connection to the 192.168.103.X network). If the default gateway is RV220, he'll know that the response should be returned via the VPN tunnel to the customer, but if it's another machine, it will just drop the package.

  In this case this another router (default gateway) must be configured with a static route, saying that subnet 192.168.103.x has as default gateway - 192.168.1.1 (RV220).

  As long as the IP address of the VPN machine fast is the same, it's ok. But if you move this PC to another local network, you will have again the problem.

  So if you plan to change the LAN IP of the fast VPN machine, I recommend using instead the Shrew VPN, where you can configure virtual IP on the client, that does not need to change.

  I have Adobe Creative Suite 3 and all programs except for InDesign. It comes up with an error message that says license has stopped working. Adobe lists several solutions, all that I tried with one exception that I couldn't because a step said to uncheck the read-only option for one of its folders named FlexNet. However, when I do this it deselects but it does not stick, if I look back at it now read-only is enabled. On a side note, in the same solution for XP Home it also says to disable Simple file sharing which is right impossible?

  Yes, the Adobe instructions sound as if they are not familiar with Windows XP Home Edition. First of all, the read-only attribute is not applicable to records in any version of Windows - XP, Vista or Windows 7. That's why you see the behavior you are reporting. And as you point out, you cannot disable Simple file sharing in XP Home. In all cases, the Simple file sharing (which controls how a computer connects to other computers in the Local network) is likely to have something to do with InDesign does not.

  I'm sorry that I'm unable to help you with this issue of Adobe, however. I guess you have uninstalled/reinstalled the program? If this isn't the case, you should try it. You may find an answer by posting in the InDesign user forum:

• Home LAN in the network as 'Unidentified network' and position the 'Public' profile in black - cannot be changed.

  I have two systems running W/7 Home Premium - in both LAN I setup for my home network is presented as 'Unidentified network' and is set to the 'Public Profile ' represented in black, which can not be changed. I cam change the name of the local network that is displayed correctly, but nothing else. I tried to use just the TCP/IP 4 and setting static IP addresses, who worked on these systems using Vista, without success. I tried to use TCP/IP 4 and 6 without setting static IP addresses - again without success. Looking at the forum for discussions on what I have not been able to find a solution to the problem.   I fixed it after many hours. Here is my situation and my workaround. It will be useful.

  At home, I have 2 internet broadband connections. One is ADSL (20 Mbps) behind a router with DHCP and the second is cable (120 Mbps) directly behind the modem (public IP to the computer). Both lines go to my Mediacenter PC that is always on and running the Kerio control (https://www.kerio.nl/products/control/). Kerio is a router function software that supports the binding switch. As you can see, having a working internet connection is essential for me. A third network interface card is configured with a static IP (192.168.3.1), Kerio is running a DHCP server on it and is connected to my home network.

  I did two things, but I think the real trick is the second. Anyway, the first step was that I ran the Powershell script mentioned in the http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dimeby8/archive/2009/06/10/change-unidentified-network-from-public-to-work-in-windows-7.aspx . Works on all networks unidentified to the networks work. Well, not either but the Group residential don't start on work networks!

  Windows 7 detects your home network by looking at its front door. Because I was running router/gateway on the same PC, I don't fill out the IP Address of the gateway. This means that the same driver can be used for the operating system Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 ultimate and Windows 7 Enterprise, regardless of their editing.

  The only thing you need to check is that it corresponds to the architecture of the operating system (32-bit or 64-bit).

  If you use a 64-bit operating system, make sure that you install 64-bit drivers and for the operating system 32-bit, only 32-bit drivers must be installed.

  What IP subnet is the host for help, is this 142.167.18.0?  If not then the VM networks are set to NAT or host-only and must be paid to bridged.  Also, if the host is no longer a physical NIC, you need to turn auto fill in the virtual network editor and select the NIC target

  In other words, you want the virtual machines to be a peer on the local physical network and changing the settings of VM in Bridged network will do.

  Note also, in addition to using Bridged keep in mind that the firewall on the host and the guest may need to be configured to allow connectivity between them and if necessary be temporarily disable all Firewalls, AntiVirus and security software on the host and the guest when troubleshooting problems of connectivity and re - activate in a logical manner to determine if one are causing problems of connectivity between them.

• 3030 router Cisco LAN to LAN VPN, can only mount router tunnel

  I am unable to raise atunnel from inside my VPN concentrator 3030 (IOS 3.5.2) tunnel 3 uses Ethernet as the side private tunnel. Is there some kind of problem on the VPN 3030 internally that does not use the Ethernet IP source 3? Once triggered on the remote side, the tunnel passes and receives traffic and I can ping devices on the remote side of my private network, but I can't ping any remote device from inside the VPN 3030.

  When you ping the VPN3030 it will automatically use the private IP address I think. Debugging isn't warning us whatever it is the first that you attached is where the Diffie-Hellman group was incompatible. If you have passed Phase 1 but, you will see a debug on the router that is similar to the following message:

  Here you can see that the remote_proxy is 10.255.0.0, which shows that the 3030 uses this network as the source subnet. If you try and ping from the 3030 again run debugging, you will probably see the 172.16.0.0 (the private interface) as the remote_proxy.

  I appreciate the effort but I've already used this softwhere and 4 GB is exhausted dosent even show. I have already determined that the problem has something to do whith my dimm slots while nothing seems wrong with them, they are one of my RAM sticks is unusable. I solved this problem by putting two DIMMs in a1 and a2 (not suggested in the mb manual) and all my ram is usable. I got no problem with this setup so far.

  Related to Internet explorer, you can download Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org or Chrome from http://www.google.com/chrome and use them as alternatives.
