Home page not what I had yesterday

When Firefox starts, he has blocks of Web sites, that I've been too - and I could move like I wanted, but now they have disappeared? I need them! Please help me to get back them. Tanx

They should not change just by themselves, other than the update for example due to the frequency of visits. There is change coming in next versions where at least some of these blocks or tiles will be "suggested tiles"

They will also disappear if you use private browsing, clear all your history or change settings

  • This morning when I started Firefox it shows my home page as screwed up as yesterday but Safari has shown as it should look like, what is wrong?

I currently use version 3.6.24 Firefox on my PPC mac with 10.4.11 system. I use Firefox for many years without any problems. I received yesterday and on my screen to alert that there is a new update of Firefox available at the facility. I clicked on OK and the update started. When it's over, I checked and it's the same version, 3.6.24, I used and apparently nothing has changed until I went to my eBay site. Once on my site, I signed in and went to manage my Articles page. The page was different because normally it shows all the items, I have for sale and at the top of the list of points of sale are the three items to check and look at my listings, which I look at you, my profile and my alerts. When you click on one of them you are normally taken to another page. When I went there after apparent installation of the updated release of Firefox page showed my ads in a single column, my profile in another column and third column for my alerts all on one page. This is not normal. I got out and went to my home page which is http://www.rr.com/. Now it was different. Parts of the site have disappeared, the sections with the weather, news, and reviews. I thought it might be the site and then I launched Safari and went to the same page and it is normal. This morning when I started Firefox it shows my home page as screwed up as yesterday. Safari has shown as it should look like. I then started SeaMonkey and it showed the page as it should look like. I really like Firefox and I'd like to get it working again as it should. Would appreciate any suggestions. My email address is [email protected]

  • Google links redirect to the Google home page, not the link itself.

Not all the time, but most of the time, I search something, get my results from google and then click on one of the links to be taken to the homepage of google. The button is disabled. So I search again, try again, and yet once I get redirected to the google home page. This time the works of the "back" button, but only to take me back to the last incarnation of the google home page. What is going on?? It's very frustrating, and new since I upgraded to 6 FF.

Turning off HTTPS everywhere for google services fixed this problem for me.

    Hello.

I hope that this support article is what you need:

    http://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/session+restore

If this does not help, it is possible that you have a problem with some Add on Firefox which is an obstacle to the normal behavior of your Firefox. Have you tried to disable all add-ons (just to see) to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you must make sure that it is not caused by one (or more) of your installed modules, whether an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do this easily and cleanly, start Firefox in safe mode (remember to select disable all add-ons when you start safe mode). If the problem goes away, you know that it's an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode and allow them one by one until you find the source of the problem. See this article for more information on troubleshooting extensions and theme and this one for plugins.

If you need help with one of your modules, you will need to contact the author.

  • Why the links on my home page not work in Firefox 29

After having downloaded 29 FF, hyperlinks on the home page of my provider don't work. If I try to select them, I get a little window indicating that the browser is not supported. 28 FF worked very well.

  • When opening forefox previous pages, he comes back after briefly flashing home pages, not home pages

I put my pages in tools/options/general (use current pages) after, of course, before defining them in their tabs. (mail, weather, etc.) After leaving Firefox and coming back, home pages I put flash briefly, but then go back to "show my windows and tabs from last time '. I can click on the Home icon and the legs are inserted correctly

  • Update KB2447568 automatically installed on my two computers. Had to do a restore afterwards as url IE8 line always came in white (compared to my google home page) and then I had to use the Task Manager to close IE8.

On each laptop OS is Vista Home Premium.  All updates, in the past, have been installed without problem.  Anti virus is Norton 360 on each PC.  Never had a problem until now, with an update.  I would like to install the update that is referenced, but it completely disables IE8.  Any suggestions on how to fix would be appreciated.

See http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Internet-Explorer-8-quot-not-responding-quot-when-symantec/m-p/332499#M136282 [applies to N360 and other applications Norton]

Manually & repeatedly update Norton 360 via LiveUpdate (or smart update) until you get a "not more than updated" or similar prompt.

    Then reinstall KB2447568, if necessary.

TIP: Never, EVER to use system restore to 'Cancel' an update, Service Pack, or upgrade of IE! Instead, uninstall the update, Service Pack, or the IE patch & reboot.  If that does not resolve the problem, then try System Restore.

  • How to open my home page in a new tab in firefox 13, as I had done for years?

Since I've just updated to firefox 13, I can customize is no longer where a new tab opens with the 'new new tab page"feature. I got my new tab open to my homepage for years, this is how I am used to it, and it's frustrating that I've now spent so much time trying to get around this new "convenience". Just to clarify: I would like that my new tabs to open to my home page. not a white page and not frequently visited tab page.

You can change it if you don't mind not peeking under the covers in Firefox about: config preferences editor.

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the filter box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter the desired value:

    (i) (default) Page thumbnails

    browser.newtab.url = about:newtab

    (ii) Virgin tab

    browser.newtab.url = about:blank

    (iii) integrated Firefox home page

    browser.newtab.url = about:home

    (iv) any other page

browser.newtab.url = full URL to the page

Press Ctrl + t to open a new tab and check that it worked. Fixed?

  • How to move from the signet library, return to the home page

I'm in the library page and click out and go to the home page. What I click on to do this? There must be a way easy, or that I need to reload Firefox?

    Thanks for the help

Do you mean that you are in the (library) Bookmarks Manager window?

You can close this window if you no longer need or use Alt + Tab to switch between open windows.

Your list of details of the system shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time you start Firefox.

The user.js file is present than if you or another software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be here.
You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: open with) If you do not create this file yourself.

The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can cleanup the preferences have a new beginning and remove possible user.js and numbered files prefs-# .js and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all default prefs, including the defined via user.js and prefs prefs is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox.

You can check the target line in the shortcut to the Firefox desktop (right click: properties) to make sure that nothing is added after the path to the Firefox program.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
  • my home page

Often, when I launch FF, I didn't my homepage together but the Mozilla's Firefox page.
How can I prevent this and always automatically go to my home page?

    Hi ergo,.

You should take a look at the Knowledge Base How to set the home pagearticle.

There are the steps in this article to reset your preferences on the default home page. I would try everything first to clear all strangeness. Then you can go ahead and set your home page to what you want.

    Hope this helps!
