• Alltell Treo755p - calendar removed on my desk and not able to Hotsync to get back

  I had my 755 p for some time and have not had any problems.  I noticed that my calendar has been removed from my desktop (Windows Vista).  I try to HotSync and it freezes just always in the same place - calendar sync - I try to cancel the Hotsync and he says just it is Cancel and may take a minute, but he never cancels.  I have restart my desktop computer.  When I restart; the HotSync Manager stands up and declares a Hotsync failure.  If I go to applications in the Hotsync menu and uncheck the agenda, hotsync is complete without any problems.  I'm not aware of any programs that have been recently added to my phone.  I have tried everything I can possibly think!  and suggestions?

• Photos of HotSync

  My wife has a Palm TX, v6.2.2 of Palm Desktop and Hotsync Manager v7.0.2.  During the transfer to the PC running VISTA a running XP, hotsync photo failed and has not worked since.  I now have the same configuration and my photos fine hotsync - hooray.  The only difference is that my wife receives a message from hotsync "failure of the backup of Photos-Foto.  "Protocol error: handheld file could not be opened (4004).

  She also had a similar message to complain on the PmTraceDatabase file.  We have consulted the Forum, downloaded go and who fixed by removing the obligation to back it up.  Do the same for the Photos-Foto removed another error, but photos hotsync continues to fail.

  It seems that we really need to file Photos-Foto - how do we get?  Or is there another solution?

  By Corvus - thanks thetreoguy.  I had doubts about your resets by train we have the TX.  However, the Sun is out and the flowers are in bloom because my wife can now have updated pictures of me on his TX.  We wish we understood how we have done this, but, as pensionaers of old age, we leave it to you many who understand all this (we assume).  Having had run, I put it on my TX, having performed properly, in order to make its file settings the same as mine.  We were disappointed that we did not have the same files, but has taken a bold step and change some attributes of a similar file on TX my wife.  That blocked upward from its hotsync a treat - he abandoned Outlook hotsync - nothing to do with the photos, are not wonderful computers.  After a moment of depression, my wife did a soft reset and this is then hotsync worked very well, Outlook and photos.

  Problem solved, perhaps by Divine intervention.  I am impressed!

• Problem of his Palm t5 (research)

  Hello!

  Two days ago my t5 palm stopped play sounds via the internal speaker (his helmet seems to be ok). Posts on this forum say that it is a hardware problem (micro-switch is stuck in a headphone jack). At least in my case, I need a more complex explanation:

  -The internal speaker stopped working without any interference in the headphones (I do not plug headphones into the Palm). Most people have this problem after disconnecting the headset.

  -J' was able to set my speakers to life by simply plugging in the AC adapter / CC. President Ping with a usual sound and worked for a few hours, that dies again.

  -At least twice, I could hear sounds after a hard reset. But only until I tried to launch any application. Then he was silent again.

  -As for now, I hear 'clicks' of the speaker when I connect my T5 to hotsync cable and press the hotsync button. Still more - if I have press the hotsync button while the cable is not plugged into the USB port - and wait 30 to 40 seconds, I see a box with the message "hotsync failure" alarm and can hear the sound of the mono speaker alarm Palm. So it is again being mute.

  With a background in electronics, I opened the unit and checked the sound elements visible:

  -L' speaker is OK, the measured resistance is recommended on the speaker (7.8 vs 8.0 ohm)

  -Points of motherboard are OK

  -There is a voltage V 1.68 on the two points vs. the ground, but no difference in voltage between the pads.

  -5-pin headset plug seems to be OK. Microswitch pads (two pads on a basis of a Jack) have no resistance measured when the socket is empty and are disconnected when headphones are plugged in.

  -J' have tried to short-circuit buffers with external cable - but no effect dip switch - sound is always redirected to the helmet.

  -J' tried to connect the internal speaker to the headphone channel. It works, but the rate of release of palm is unacceptable (headphones are devices to 30 ohms, and I believe that internal speaker is connected through some elements of energy saving).

  I'm completely perplexed with my problem of his palm. This may not be a pure hardware problem as he plays sometimes a few sounds via mono speaker. But if this is a problem in a software - how in hell, he survives device resets?

  Indeed, the problem was multiple connector. It seems that cable flat keyboard connection and connector multiple base with a main card had isolation deteriorated between some of his sons and a surface of steel on the base. Now, I remember that some time ago my Palm was irregularly to hot-sync mode even when the hot sync cable was not plugged.

  After that I put a piece of insulation between the metal base and a flat cable (which covers the hard edge of the base metal) mono speaker returned to life. Please put this in a FAQ or KB if possible.

  It would be nice for palm-engineers (if palm still has some) to build a utility program that allows the user to select the device audio default substitution of the system. See cool head for treo on sourceforge (does not work on palm t-series).

• Failure to connect the HotSync Palm TX 4.2 and Office XP Pro

  I have a Palm TX with v. 4.2 OS and HotSync residing in a XP Pro PC.

  When you perform the HotSync operation, controlled by the cable button, either very often fails because unable to connect to the PC or the device is not recognized.

  After several attempts, HotSync works fine, using the same USB port.

  This problem isn't to blame on the desktop environment or is there something that can be fixed on the Palm software?

  The TX comes with Palm OS 5.4.9 installed - 4.2 is very probably the version of Palm Desktop, you are running.

  The problem could be easily the cable itself, or dirty contacts on the bottom of the unit.  Check the HotSync port gold on the TX sign of dirt, oil or corrosion.  Cleaning of this area with Contact Cleaner (available at electronics stores) or isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab can solve the problem.

  If you have another available HotSync cable that you can borrow, I would suggest that-a break in one of the tiny wires inside could produce the symptoms you describe.

  I had to reformat my HARD drive and start from scratch after a catastrophic system failure. I installed the Palm software for my TE2 last week and hotsync worked well. Tonight I can't get the hot sync to work at all, I tried to reboot the PC by plugging the USB input / output, does not. All I get on the TE2 is the message "the connection between your device and the desktop could not be established. "Please check your nd Setup try again."

  Fact any who have experience with this and help me to restore the hot sync function. Thank you very much

  Since the upgrade to a new laptop, I have not yet synchronized my Z22 to Microsoft Outlook 2003 via the USB port. I installed Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager 7.0.2 from the web site. The HotSync log says:

  Yes, Outlook opens when I try to hotsync.

  This weekend, I restarted my laptop, which had been for some time. This morning, I tried to togling the synchronization PIM of duct-> sync w / Palm desktop and back to sync-> synchronization with Outlook. Twice, the popup says pipes installed successfully. (I have does not hotsync while it was set to 'sync with palm desktop'). After that, the tasks and memos synchronized successfully (I don't check the content, just the status). Then I turned sync Contacts, and they sync OK. Tour schedule to synchronize and Hotsync crashed with failure 'period' twice.

  Then I rebooted the Hotsync Manager, calendar set to "Desktop replaces HH" and who synced OK.

  Then I put the calendar to 'synchronize' and created a few test on the calendar, contacts, memos and tasks, inputs and they are all synced correctly. I have not tested all 4 Applications synchronization in each direction, but I'm almost convinced. I don't know definitely what was crucial, but I suspect the reboot has been involved.

• HotSync hangs up

  I recently dropped my Centro and he hit the kind of hard on the handle of a metal safe that we have.

  Later in the day tried to make an installation (with HotSync) on a new pc.  HotSync hangs up trying to synchronize the 'calendar '.  He basically just freezes there and installation must be undone when (after a long period of time) a window pops up that says "MEM_BAD_POINTER".

  Has anyone an idea what to do with this?  Is my broken Centro and can it be taken somewhere to fix?

  Hello stellarplacebo, what we could suggest would be pure speculation.  It could be a direct hit caused a glitch/hardware failure, or it's just a coincidence!

  Standard suggestions apply - test then Soft Reset, Hard Reset can test front of HotSync.  If everything works after a Hard Reset, it is related to the software.  If this isn't the case, it sounds like material.

  We'll find Palm repairs ($$$) or several websites ($) like usedpdaparts.com or directfix.com.

• 6.2 PalmDeskTop w Vista - new motherboard causes Hotsync Lockup

  Treo 650 and Vista Business SP1 with Palm Desktop 6.2 and Outlook 2007.  Reference Dell D630 Core Duo laptop.

  I have been successfully using Hotsync for Treo 650 and Outlook 2007 and more recently with PalmDeskTop 6.2.  This Setup has worked well.

  Unfortunately, this Dell had a nVidia graphics card that caused a failure of system and overheating.  The motherboard has been replaced with the nVidia card (BIOS has been also updated the same as before).  The hard drive did NOT change, so all programs operated normally - except Hotsync Manager.

  HotSync DOES work, or it will exchange data between my Treo and Vista.  The Treo 650 shows a normal synchronization, including Hotsync "Completed", but the Hotsync Manager, while the list of the 11 of 11 missions, the 'progress bar' goes all the way to the end and at this stage, he is locked (no response).

  In addition, at this stage the two processors jump more than 50% and stay there until I do an end process.  If I get Hotsync, then right-click on the system tray icon and click settings - it will show only a small title bar (about 1 inch long).  At this point, Hotsync is yet once does not.  Conversely, if I select Install vs settings, it will appear the installation tool, with no problems.

  Because the 'settings' shows that a small title bar, I'm not able to enter in the settings to change anything - if it was important.

  Have uninstalled/Reinstalled Desktop 6.2 with no improvement.

  You may need to perform a 'cleanup' to uninstall and reinstall.

  Here are the instructions for Vista clean uninstall.

  You should first make a copy of your data to have just in case something
  is happening. You can find your data files by clicking on start--> Documents-->
  Palm OS Desktop. Select your Palm Desktop user name, and then right-click and
  copy. Then go to the desktop of your PC, click on a blank spot block and select.

  If this is the first time, you install Palm desktop and encounter a problem, go to the previous step.

  Now you want to uninstall Palm Desktop and remove anything that has to do
  with Palm Desktop on your computer.
  Go to the following locations on the PC and delete the folders listed below.
  C:\Program Files\Palm or Palm One
  C:\Users\[Vista username] \appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Palm or
  PalmOne
  C:\Users\[Vista username] \appdata
  * Note You may need to show hidden folders to join appdata. To do this go
  in your control panel and folder options open. Go to the tab and disable
  hide hidden files.
  Once this is done, you will need to remove certain keys in the registry of your PC operating system.

  Word of warning, go here and removing the wrong thing can cause your PC
  commissioning, crashing and deletion of programs and data. If you feel
  you're not sure of yourself, see if you have a friend who can help you or a
  PC technician that you can pay to help you. This procedure will show them everything they need to remove. To make sure that we have a good copy of the current registry, we make a backup of the registry.

  Go to start on your PC in the search box type "regedit.exe" without the quotes.

  Highlight COMPUTER, go to--> export file. Should appear with a save as box.
  Current place of residence is fine, must be within My Documents, or save to a location that you will remember. In the name of the file in low type "backup [todaysdate]" i.e. backup07072008. Then, the most difficult part.

• Assistance required after you download Sierra - locked in a spiral of failure of the Installation

  Hello - I am a student of the University who made the mistake of thinking I had to upgrade my OS system after seeing some updates new flashy in the Sierra. Long story short, that my computer is locked into a cycle where I restarts and the installation process will begin installation but end abruptly and ask me to reboot again.

  I have exams and papers due and seriously want access to my data again. I don't have a back up of my files. As such, I am looking for a method that will allow me access to my files that I need to be able to read notes, print etc.

  Details: I have an old MBPro by the end of 2011. He was on as the primary OS x Lion. I had updated some time later. More recently, I got El Capitan and it worked very well. I downloaded Sierra in the background as I did work at home and after installing it, it asked me to reboot. This was the point that I was able to come back from. Reboot after installation scenario is as follows:

  -A progress bar comes up saying 34 minutes until completion

  -The progress bar goes to 33 minutes until completion

  -Beginning of fans of my computer acting upward and the bar stops and crashes of progression

  -The installation process says he doesn't have and asks me to restart my computer

  Specifically, I get the message 'Mac OS could not be installed on your computer. File system check or repair a failure. Quit the installer to restart your computer and try again. »

  When I quit the installer of the OS, I am taken to the startup disk option and asked to choose a system to reboot my computer with. I see 'Macintosh HD macOS 10.11.4' but when I click on it and try to restart I get the following error message, "you cannot change the disk on the disk selected.   Things I've tried:

  Safe mode: I can't start in safe mode. My computer will load the apple logo, progress on 3/4ths of the way start-up and then crash on its own and not restart.

  Constituting a new boot USB of OS Sierra - I read that in so doing I can substitute the installation process that is going on right now on my computer and start a new... I hope one that works. I was not able to do this again, because I need someone to another macbook to make it and none of my friends won't let me touch their computers after the fiasco that happened on mine... Can I get some feedback on this?

  Backup: I don't have an external hard drive... I'm willing to buy one if necessary, but I don't know how to make a backup in a world where I don't have access to the major functional sections of my computer. Also, if my computer is * session here now, I'm worried that a backup will be essentially a * a backup... is this the work of the computer?

My University has also 3 options of WIFI, but each requires a separate verification process. Throughout this process, I have been connected to one of these methods. Switching may help? But, if I can't do the verification step (i.e. open a browser and type in the details of my student specific to actually use the web), I do not think that this will help you a lot. In addition, I am sure that I am already using one of the less frequently used options.

  I want to avoid a permanent possible deletion because there are important things on my computer.

  Same problem here on my Mac Mini end of 2012. I couldn't find any fix so far. The machine worked perfectly fine before with El Capitan and had about 50 GB of available disk space. I have use any version beta of Sierra, but officially released one that came yesterday. Really disappointing to see the new system operating software with fundamental questions and no good way to solve it.

  Your best bet is an accumulator.  I have one I got on Amazon by EC Tech.  It is a brick, but it will charge my iPhone and the iPad, if the current is cut off.  You just need to load the brick and keep it in an emergency.

  I have similar problems, but do not have a definitive answer to Apple. They replaced my D500 cards, graphics & the power supply but the plant still Mac Pro. According to the Apple phone support, looks like my logic board is bad. You will need to visit the Apple Store again to see what happens.
