How to install Hotkeys on Satellite A10 521

Hello

I had the problem earlier by installing common modules. The installation program does not start but if look at the registry, I have a key named common Modules:
MEU computador\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TOSHIBA

I tried to install shortcuts for hotkey-dd-xp-100010002-.zip. I did a right click on Tfnf5Wxp.inf (in directoryhotkey-dd-xp-100010002-en\WinXP)

I can see now a REG_BINARY named TFnF5 in the TOSHIBA\Common Modules\Run key

He unfortunately didn't improve the behavior of the hotkeys on my Satellite A10-521. Which may stem from the fact that the windows version is Portuguese?

I wonder if it might be a good idea to spend the large amount of time to install a XP Home Edition french (as it was in the beginning) instead of a Portuguese XP pro?

Hello

For me it s a clear case. According to your message you have an error message common modules. Toshiba common modules are very important and necessary to run other tools of Toshiba.

I would recommend so reinstall the common modules again!

The European Toshiba driver page provides the * Module common v6.01.00 * for Win XP.

Download and install this utility!

Good luck and best regards

  • Re: How to install HDD on Satellite L300-19Y?

    Hi guys

I'm not too good with computers but have bought a new HARD drive for my L-series I've been informed that my HARD drive is maybe broken due to errors when I perform chkdsk checks and the fact that it freezes and crashes randomly.

In any case, could someone tell me how to install the HARD drive? I bought an another similar to the original hitachi in the laptop, that is to say sata, 2.5 ", but got a 250 GB, rather than the 160. What I have to install anything, or have complicated everything to do? I don't know how to install it physically just don't know if I have to use my discs of recovery or something like that?

    Bravo guys

    Hello

There is no difficult things to do to swap the HARD drive. Which is a fairly simple process and he s done in 5 minutes I think.

I have the Satellite L300 in front of me. To swap the HARD drive, turn off the laptop and remove the battery and the AC adapter. On the underside, you can find the cover of the HARD drive which is fixed by 2 screws. Remove the screws and the cover of the HARD drive, you are now able to exchange the HARD drive.

If you have any other questions, please let me know! :)

  • Should re-install XP on Satellite A10 - I use the restore CD?

    Hello

I have a laptop series satellite (A10), bought new 2 years ago.

Recently it has been running very slow and after a lot of advice, I decided to reinstall windows.

I can do this with the product recovery cd supplied with my computer? I have the 3 original supplied with the computer disks. If it is possible, how? I read on another post (for another series PC Toshiba laptop) that this is to boot from the cd by pressing c when starting the computer - is it right for the A10?

The process is this difficult? I have an external hard drive to back up files, etc.

    Cheers for any help

    Phil

    Hello

If you really want to reinstall your system, use the recovery CD.
First, you should back up your important data on the external drive.

Then, as you already know, boot from the recovery disk #1 by pressing 'C' at the start of the laptop.
(This sometimes does not work, then you will need to press F12 for the boot menu, or press ESC to enter the BIOS to change the boot priority.)

If the computer starts from the disk (Win98), then simply follow the menus that appear (it's really easy!).
But remember, the whole HARD drive will be formatted.

    Good bye

How can I format my HARD drive and then install windows 7?

    Thank you

At the beginning I will say that I hope that you have created a recovery media (DVD or USB) before you have begun to install Win7.

Return to your Win7 installation. A long time ago I installed Win7 on friends U940 and the first stage was changing course startup in the BIOS settings mode - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2C03F80002R01.htm
After the installation Win7 has started successfully, but in my case the SATA driver support was necessary.

  • How to install Sata on Satellite M70-340?

My version of WinXP Pro does not see the HARD drive in sata mode. I read on the chipset and supports sata and my HARD drive. How can I install I do windows see my HARD drive in SATA mode. thanx

    Hello

I'm a little confused about your ad.
As far as I know the Satellite M70-340 has a SATA HDD and it should works with this mode. If you use the Toshiba Recovery CD so the AHCI (Intel SATA AHCI Controller) V5.1.0.1022 should pre-installed with the operating system.
You must also install the Chipset (Intel ICH6M) V7.1.0.1014 first.

  • How to install Vista on Satellite M40

I have a Satellite Pro M40 and I think to install Vista on it. I have no problem with the development of an operating system on my PC, after many, many times before. but I'm not sure I put it on my M40.
    Can someone give some advice?

Do I have to reformat the drive M40 first? If so, any reformatting program won't work or can I do it via the recovery disk provided. I am wary about using the recovery disc I do not know what to expect.

    Any help appreciated.

You can choose several ways of instillation. You can upgrade XP to Vista, you can install the Vista on a second partition or you will overwrite the existing XP.

If you overwrite the XP Vista will delete all installed applications.
I recommend you to install Vista on the second partition.
In this case, you can use the two operating system, XP, and Vista.

When you start you laptop, you will get a Boot Manager.
Then you could choose either XP or Vista

PS: as much as I know many applications is not compatible with Vista, and you will need new versions (if they exist!)
At the moment no Vista drivers are available for M40 :(

  • How to install Vista on Satellite A300 without recovery disk?

    Please, I desperately need help.

My brother bought a new Toshiba A300-23F in Saudi Arabia. He has little knowledge of computers.
    It's on the screen threre.

He sent it to my father in Pakistan but quickly noticed it was full of viruses and it installed fresh Windows xp SP2 after formatting hard drive.

He gave me to fix the problem. Because it is designed for windows vista. I want to install windows vista, but I do not have the disk recovery or operating any drive.

How am I suppose to install windows vista?
Someone told me that I have download the vista track and enter the key that is on the back of my laptop.

    Anyone with an idea. Please

    > He sent it to my father in Pakistan but quickly noticed it was full of viruses and it installed fresh Windows xp SP2 after formatting hard drive.

It was a big mistake buddy
The recovery disk is not shipped with the laptop because he had a tool preinstalled called creator Toshiba Recovery disk that allows you to create a clean recovery disc.
But this is not possible because the HARD disk has been formatted and all files have been deleted.

Now, you would not be able to recover the camera even using HARD drive recovery because the files are not available on the HARD disk.

You need a recovery disk, and you can order it here:

The doc that comes with Bluetooth monitor for this computer says that certain files must be present in the c:\Toshiba directory but I n t have this directory at all in my computer. • How to install XP on Satellite L40 - 14N

Read only a few threads on here, but can't have it installed. I have read that I need a floppy drive. So went out and bought a USB floppy drive to the drivers.
I thought I'd need on diskette.

Now what happens is I press f6 for the SATA drive and press S when asked.
It gives me a driver option so I say yes installs a bit more, then asked the driver again and I press on enter and nothing happens.

    Any help please?
Read somewhere I can have to integrate but don't know how.

    Doug's soon

    Hello

Floppy drive is not necessary only for the drivers but for Storage Manager. Please download and extract all the files there. Later, when the WXp is installed you can download all the drivers directly in Windows XP Home edition and start the installation.

Please download Installations instructions document and install all the stuff following this order of installations.
    Good luck!

  • It is a solution - how to install XP on Satellite L40

NOTE: you will need a license for XP Pro SP2(it should work with Sp1 and Home, but runs better on Pro SP2)!

First download and install nLite. http://www.nliteos.com/download.html (requires .NET Framework version 2.0, you can download .NET Framework from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&DisplayLang=en)

Now download and extract the slipstream drivers into a folder like C:\Drivers-temp\ http://files.soulpass.com/acer/slipstream_drivers.zip

Insert your WinXP installation disc, exit the autorun if it appears.

Start nLite, click Next on the start screen. Tell him where is your CD. It will ask you to tell him where to cache the files to. You can simply use a folder like C:\XP-temp\ for this.

On the predefined settings screen, click Next again. Now click the button drivers, as well as the "Bootable ISO" button, then click on "next".

On drivers screen, click Insert, and then several driver's record. NLite to the location where you extracted the drivers slipstream, such as C:\Drivers-temp\ and click OK.

In the select several drivers to integrate the window you will need to highlight the path to the Summit (for example, C:\Drivers-temp\) by clicking on it once, and then click OK.

In the window driver in Textmode integration Options integration options highlight the entire list by clicking once on the top element, then shift-click once on the background element. With this list still highlighted, click OK at the bottom.

Back on the drivers screen, click Next. Apply it changes: dialog box should appear asking if you really want to start the process. Click Yes.

Once the treatment is completed, you will need to click 'Next', how youâ ¢ will be taken to the final screen.

On the "Bootable ISO" screen, change the menu of 'Create Image' to 'Burn Direct' drop-down 'Mode '. Eject your WinXP disc and insert a blank disk into your burner. For security reasons, place a check next to "check".

    Finally, click on burn.

Congratulations, you now have an installation disc, suitable for any Toshiba laptop with S - ATA hdd (in fact you can use it on any pc/laptop with S - ATA hard drive).

Now, you will need boot up your laptop on this disc. In order to be able to boot from the CD, we must first make a couple of quick changes in the BIOS of the laptop computers. In the BIOS, you will need to make sure that the first boot device is the DVD - RW drive.

NOTE: Make sure you backup all your data before continuing, because the next step will erase everything.

Restart the laptop with your new XP cd inserted, after it is started, the windows installer will ask you where you want to install Windows XP to: follow the prompts to delete all existing partitions, and then follow the prompts to create a new partition and install Windows XP to that. You can choose the "quick format" to speed things up.

Follow the rest of the messages guides for windows in the usual manner.

This solution was made to another mobile phone manufacturer but I just filled where it considers that Toshiba.
    http://soulpass.com/2007/11/10/installing-Windows-XP-Professional-SP2-on-Acer-Aspire-5315-2153-laptop/

You will need the drivers for your system ready when XP complete installation, so be sure to download before starting all this and make a CD, you can use them again. Most chipsets Intel a driver for XP on Intels homepage.

What about Atheros, then you can find the drivers here: http://www.atheros.cz/

Many of the drivers of Toshiba Vista driver package runs on XP, just read the readme file or the inf file.

If you have any questions then let me know.
