How to install Win XP on Equium P200

Hi guys,.

I found a very useful tutorial, how to install windows xp on laptop Equium P200.
Problem is that when I did everything what in this tutorial (used nlite, made the install xp with sata drivers cd) Win Xp is show error.

When you boot from the cd, and all the drivers are loaded, it will show me a blue screen saying that installation was arrested for not to damage my pc and its saying that the error is in the pci.sys file...

The ides what it could be?

Thanks in advance

Hello

I m not 100% sure why this error but I've had an idea.
Maybe the installed Intel Matrix Storage Manager doesn t support the good chipset.

I ve towing different versions of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager and both versions support different chipsets.

Always is it that there are different series Equium P200 which needs different drivers.
I think you should visit the European driver Toshiba page and must choose the right notebook series! Compare the serial number located at the bottom of the device!

Then try the installation again.

    Hello

I tried in vain to now for quite awhile to recover/restore this Toshiba to factory default as its lag so bad now, anyway after a Google search and the Toshiba site I m in the light of the different ways to make it go was to hit F8 to repair the computer, then check that the default button factory.

I tried this in admin and the possibility of recovering factory default just wasn t it. There are many other options but none I needed, option 2 I understand is to turn off the pc via the power button for 10 seconds then take 0 key and start (even once, it has been a waste of time: /)

Please could someone explain why I have no option to recover my Toshiba to default out of the box? I m running Vista Home and model number is pspb5e-005c004ks default it is not not a way of so how much do aprox recovery disks will cost Toshiba direct? Sony tried to charge me £45 for some fo rmy vaio seemed a bit steep for a disc.

Thanks for reading all the advice is great.

    Hello

    Where to start my friend?
I put t know for sure, but I assume that your older notebook satellite has been delivered with the recovery of HARD drive image. This means that without support of restore DVD and this recovery image was recorded on the second partition of HARD drive in the folder called HDDRecovery.

Toshiba has designed reminder which should let know you how important is to create DVDs of recovery that can be used in the case where when recovery of HARD drive option is not available or cannot be launched. The same is also described in user; s guides to document that you have with your laptop.
It will be interesting to know whether or not you have created this DVD but I n t think so.

If you do not see this repair my computer option in Advanced options boot (F8) then you have a big problem and you will not be able to start the recovery procedure. I put t know why you got it n t, but especially this option will be untied if you have installed the own operating system or this recovery file is missing.

If you want factory again, you can order https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx recovery disk
It costs a little, but you will get the original recovery image that includes the operating system, all necessary drivers, utility tools and several additional programs and it is designed for your laptop model.

  • How to install Win 7 on a Win 10 computer which doesn't have a CD player

I bought a new laptop of Lenovo win 10, but I can't not treat Win 10 so I bought a copy of Win 7 and want to install it but I don't have a CD player.  How to install Win 7?  I tried to look at the oem site but nothing seems to match back to Win 7, they all assume I'm going to Win 10, that I certainly do not.

Otherwise I'll have to return the laptop because I don't live with Win 10, it takes too long to learn all the new shit and I'm not all media social hype apps that came with it.

A little guidance would be welcome, please.

The first thing you need to do is to check if there is no Windows 7 driver for your model of Lenovo.

I recommend also to dual boot, instead of decommissioning.

In addition, downgrade rights are limited to systems that are preinstalled with Windows 10 Pro OEM. Other editions need to provide your own disc of Windows 7.

There are ways you can download and create a bootable copy of the edition of Windows 7 you have.

Option 1: Microsoft Windows and Office ISO download tool - HeiDoc.net

    then

If your computer is UEFI, they are normally the systems that come pre-loaded with Windows 8 or later, you need prepare the ISO for such a configuration file or you will receive an error during installation. The USB key must be formatted in FAT32 and use the GPT partitioning scheme. To do this, you must use Rufus, a small tool that you can download for free.

    After installing Rufus:

    • Launch it
    • Select the ISO Image
    • Point to the file ISO for Windows 10
    • Check create a disk bootable using
    • Select GPT partitioning to EUFI firmware as the Partition scheme
    • Choose FAT32 NOT NTFS as file system
    • Make sure that your USB in the device list
    • Click Start
    • Close when you are finished

  • Cannot install Vista SP1 on Equium P200

Says Windows installs, then stops, starts to set up, but then returns the changes. Anyone else had similar and then successful problems to install. This on windows vista edition Home premium 32-bit on Equium P200.

Checked for all the updates on Vista, perfectly up-to-date. Also stop Firewall etc. Can someone help with this problem?

    Hello

It's funny you say that, because my friend has exactly the same problem as you! (but is not on a laptop, on a standard desktop configuration).

When the service pack installs it checks for incompatible software during installation. What I would recommend would be to backup your data and install Service Pack 1 _directly_ after recovery of product and then install the 3 rd party software you want to install.

(Especially the burning of programs/language packs being installed), I found that this has harmed the configuration causing the cancellation of the installation.

If you give that to try and see what happens and if it doesn't work then come back and we can see what it can be.

When my friend re-installed Windows and the Service Pack because it worked, allowing him to install its own software on top.

    Installation/Recovery > all Windows updates > Service Pack 1 > 3rd party software

    I hope this helps

    Kind regards

    Hello

You n t need the exe file.
You can install the driver through the Device Manager, you must simply point to the folder of the driver you downloaded and Win XP would take the necessary ini and dll files automatically.

  • Re: New install of Win7 on Equium P200

    Hello

I used Windows 7 on my Toshiba Equium P200 IED for a few months now, it's great actually, but I couldn't until now installed the Toshiba drivers recommended, however, I helped my brother to install Win7 on her Sony Vaio and I had to download all the drivers.

I installed them after a lot of noise with success. However, they were to be installed in a particular order, it was essential, otherwise they would not install / or work. I decided to re - format my satellite again, this time, I hope to be able to install all the drivers recommended etc. My only concern is that if they also have to be installed in a specific order, if so could you please help me in this task.

    Thank you very much.

Order of the facilities is very important and all drivers Toshiba, tools and utilities must be installed in the order of good facilities. The order is enough even for Vista and Win7, so I recommend you to visit the Toshiba download page and download the Installations Instructions for Vista.

Follow this order, and I think everything will be OK. Is it missing some drivers Win7 install Vista drivers. I did the same thing on my Satellite A300.

You must go into the BIOS and change SATA "Compatibility" or "IDE" mode

Or, if this option is not available, you should use the F6flpy driver is in the Intel Matrix Storage driver package.

  • How to install Win 8 on Satellite C850 after HARD drive failure?

I have a PC repair business and a customer gave me a portable Satellite C850-1 kN which took a catastrophic hard disk failure (just clicking from the road).

I replaced the hard drive and tried to boot from a DVD 8 Windows, changing the order of startup in the bios, however, it still gives an error message "no boot device."

I see no way to turn off boot UEFI, it appears grayed out in the configuration of the bios.

How can I reinstall Windows on this laptop?

First, you must know that the (CSM/UEFI mode) parameter must be changed if you want to install the system supported UEFI not (Win 7 and higher).
Win 8 and 8.1 Win are UEFI capable systems and you should be able to use the option to UEFI mode.

What about the secure boot option?
Have you found and have you tried to disable this option?

  • How to install Win 7 on a Satellite M30X-165 (S)

The laptop has a Pentium clocked at 1.6 GHz and 1 GB of RAM which I would upgrade to 2 GB. I want to change the OS from Win XP to Win 7. I know that Toshiba do not support the software and drivers for Win 7:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=235849𹥉

But when I remove the hard drive, install Windows Vista and later upgrade to Windows 7 If this could be a way to use Vista drivers and Toshiba Software, especially software for function keys. I think that the third-party software should come through Win 7 update.

    Some devices are:
    Intel (r) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection
Realtek RTL8139/810 x Family Fast Ethernet NIC
ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600/9700 Series graphics card
    ENE CB710 Cardbus Controller
    Realtek AC97 Audio
    TOSHIBA Software Modem (not important)

    Some software are:
    TOSHIBA ConfigFree
    Alps Pointing-device Driver
    ATI Desktop component
    TOSHIBA utilities

Long ago, I had Satellite M70 that was machine WXP too. It was not supported for Win7 but I installed it to see how it will work. My problem was to find the display driver, but I found somewhere on the net and the machine was OK. I could use it but without specific Toshiba and utility tools.

Unfortunately on this forum we do have enough information about these updates on old machines. I can only say: install it, test it and post comments.

  • How to install Win XP on my laptop

I bought a satellite laptop that came with Vista installed and a few records to the 'dismantling' to XP I have if desired.

I find Vista to be an absolute dog of a product, so I inserted my XP disc and waited.
Finally, there's no autorun on the CD file and no obvious choice of a file to run at all.

Can someone explain how to return my laptop to the XP operating system?

First, it would really help to know what laptop you have.
Secondly I m wondering if you have read some threads here in the forum about the installation of Win XP before you packed this announcement

I'm not quite sure what the problem could be but I m have a hypothesis.

It possible s you didn t start from the Win XP disc. You said that you have some tiles it and WAITED
The disc must be inserted and the laptop must be OFF.
Then turn on the computer laptop and boot from the bootable disk

The other possibility would be that you didn't install SATA drivers (which are necessary for all cell phones recent) and therefore the Win XP does not recognize the HARD drive and cannot go through the complete installation program.

I recommend checking and reading some markets here in the forum about the SATA driver and Storage Manager Intel.

  • Re: Satellite A300 PSAGCA: how to install Win XP as 2nd OS

Hey any reader for the first time and shows for the first time.
My comp is the Satellite A300 PSAGCA-02U010

You 2 questions, hopefully someone can help me with.

The issue of the first: like many people, I hate Vista.
How can I run XP as a second OS that don't live my warranty?

    2. the volume level is not very strong (sound) when you watch a DVD etc. I tried different settings, and every time I do I have to restart to take effect, which is a pain that vista is slow to restart. I have downloaded the driver, but noticed that it is exactly the same as what is installed already :(

    See you soon

    > How can I use as a second OS XP who don't live my warranty?
Installing programs or operating system would not avoid the warranty!
You can install the Win XP as second OS without fear.

But before install you anything, I would recommend the Toshiba recovery disc creation!

    With regard to the sound:
As far as I know the parameters which are changes in the player are not not in trouble. You must increase the volume of every time when you start the software again.
But have you tested different actors? For example, VLC player is a simple and free tools.
    I recommend to test
