How to log in as administrator in Windows 7?

I am trying to run Spybot which I just downloaded. However, after analysis I have not permission to solve problems because I am not the administrator. I checked my user profile and it shows that I AM the administrator. So I go in the folder accessories, and then right-click on the command prompt. I then enter net user administrator / active: yes and press ENTER. That's what it shows the next...

The syntax of this command is:

NET USER

[userame [password: *] [options]] [/ domain]

username {password: *} / Add [options] [/ domain]

username [/ delete] [/ domain]

Userame [/ TIME] [{Times}: ALL]

So, I'm still not the administrator and I can not even do any change! GRRRR... Y at - there a step I'm missing?

Right-click to Spybot > click on Run As Administrator.

Re-run Spybot. For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

  • How can I delete account administrator under WIndows 7

I installed Windows Vista to Windows 7 on an Acer laptop. I want to remove the user accounts administrator account but cannot. I follow the instructions but when I select the Administrators account there is no option to remove it. Note: There are 2 user accounts: one under my name and the other is administrator. Both were created originally in Vista and I had to use a command to create the administrator account - maybe it has something to do with not now be able to remove the control panel.

    Thanks for the help.

That is right. CANNOT delete the built-in Administrator account.

The standard security practice is to rename the built-in Administrator
account, set a password that is strong on it and use it only to create another
accounts for regular use, reserving the administrator as a back account «»
the door' in case something corrupts your account regularly.

  • I am logged on as administrator, but windows 7 always tell me that I have to you as an administrator

I try to install new software and I only have one user on this laptop and when I check the user account States that I am administrator but still always tells me to open a session as long as administrator, and then try again... Help, please

It may be that you must run the program itself, at a high level. Click with the right button on the setup of the program and in the context menu should be the run as Administrator option. Left click that and see if that fixes the problem.

Even if you are connected with an admin account Windows protects against certain types of changes. If the installer is written with the guidelines from Microsoft that it would allow the control of user account to present a dialog to confirm the operation however older programs do not have this feature and just do not work.

Is there a recovery on the hard drive partition?

Try pressing which button is indicated on the power to the screen to enter setup. It is usually one of the F2, F11, F12 or ESC.

Then look for something on reset to factory State

You lose all your files by doing this, of course.

  • How can I view the administrator account, which is not even in SafeMode (Windows 7)?

I was instructed to set up a Windows 7 PC. It has been used before, but I don't know by whom or how it was used. In order to do a bit of setting up I want, I need access to the administrator account. I have an account that is in the group administrator, Admin, but the account itself seems to be hidden or missing. It does not appear when I boot in safe mode. How can I access the administrator?

I found my own answer. The administrator account is disabled. Enable it, run the policy group, then Configuration Editor Local computer--> Windows settings security settings local policies--> security-> accounts options-->-->:--> Enable Administrator account status.

After that, I was able to connect to the administrator.
  • How can I reset my administrator password on my Windows 7 computer without a password reset disk?

I only got 2 passwords on my all-in-One of Acer computer. I unplugged a few days ago and only starts today. When I did, the password I used for a long time, did not work. The indication of password has been changed to "the first time" and when I tried to enter the first password I used in the computer, it did not work. I tried the "boot menu" "F8" option, but when I opened the menu (press F12), I have no F8 option. I tried pressing F8 just when the computer was 1st, and it seemed just to freeze the page that displays the configuration of the Start Menu and the BIOS.

I don't want to have to do a complete overhaul of my computer and lose everything on it. Help, please!

If you do not want to do a complete makeover so you really need to enjoy various safety nets that are built into Windows 7. They are here:
    • Restart the computer with your Windows CD to repair, then use system restore to set Windows in a week or two.
    • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (a spare admin account is like a key to the House of emergency. Everybody has one.).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have taken the time to create such a key file).
    • Use the password indicator (works only if you set it upward, and if this is common).
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)
  • How to unlock the administrator for windows user account 8

I am trying to download a program, and he says he has to be run by administrator.  My account is the only one who is entered into the computer, as I bought it just yesterday.  So, how to become the user administrator?

Your user name is almost certainly already an administrator.

Confirm it through accounts of Items\User control Panel\All Control Panel.

    Remember these tips.

Try right click on the actual Setup.exe and choosing the option "Run As Administrator"?  Perform, even if your user name is an administrator.

Try right click on the shortcut to the program or the .exe and select "Run As Administrator"?  Perform, even if your user name is an administrator.

Try right-clicking on the program real .exe, and then click the Compatibility tab.  Observe the area of privilege level down to the bottom.

I tried to install a new font, but I can't do it through a program of the Organization of the fonts.  I tried to go through the Control Panel, but when I opened the folder of fonts, it does give me the option under 'File' to install fonts.

    I went to:
http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/Admin who checked my environment and told me to go to step 2 to verify that I am logged on as administrator.  I was able to open and change the time, which, according to this page, check that I am logged on as administrator.

Then he said: 'Click here to continue' - but the link javascript:pc_NavBack (1) is idle

If I am logged in as an administrator, I should be able to install fonts - but I can't.

    What should I do now?

  • How can I add an administrator if there is no designated as administrator on the PC?

My son deleted my administrator account and changed me for limited use of the user. Now there is no Administor and I can't load any program or to any administrative action. Is it possible to add an administrator account without going through an administrator. ?  How can I add an administrator if there is no designated?

Simply log in using the built-in Administrator account (it cannot be deleted) using start > run > 'control userpasswords2' to change the desired accounts.

By design, the only way to connect to the administrator account on Windows XP Home is to restart in Mode without failure.  For WinXP Pro, by pressing CTRL + ALT + DELETE twice at the Welcome screen will produce the standard login dialog box.  Unless the owner deliberately value password to the administrator via the Management Console (_not_ Control Panel), it is probably still a Virgin.  WinXP Pro ask the installer to set the administrator password during installation, but WinXP Home does not work.
